@@tobithesergalsame man I didn’t get the battle pass back then beacuse I didn’t really care about skins all I cared about was the game I wish I had my old account
Another problem is that the main battle pass is filled with junk and as a result VBucks are pushed aside to the bonus rewards. You can’t even finish the main battle pass with the full amount of vbucks
@@theh0pester929 I don't think you "just play casually", if ur that high, you must play every single day cause i play 2-3 time a week + i do the season challenge and i'm only 86 or something like that.
I think a big issue about modern BP are that they arent... good anymore. I rarely buy a battlepass thinking 'damn I want this skin'. I usualy just buy battlepasses nowadays because I get more vbucks out of it and a few items to stack my locker which i'll never use...
I remember back in chapter 4 Season 1 i wanted to unlock the whole battle pass but I really just wanted to get doom slayer because he's from one of my favorite games
eh back in chapter 1 i felt like i would only REALLY want 1 or 2 out of the pass knowing the rest would just never get used, which is still the same today except its only 1 and chances are i wont use them after this season
@@darkcdev4906 exactly. The only reason I get the battle pass is because I want some emotes in the item shop and I get vbucks, but then I’ll see the battle pass and I’m at like level 60 or something,I’ll get it so I potentially have more vbucks later because I’ll casually play the game (not battle royal, more like bed wars)
They've also started putting the last 500 V-Bucks of the pass above level 100, but it was always 1500 V-Bucks under level 100. And don't forget filling up the slots with LEGO kits and instruments.
I think another big thing that made battle passes so special was the addition of a new kind of cosmetic (sprays, toys, back blings, etc). These were also only available through the battle pass at the launch of the season. Epic needs to stop taking the safe route and start being a little more innovative in terms of the battle pass
So you want Epic to gatekeep Pets, Toys, and any new thing they add? I personally think it's better they only add stuff like that to the shop so you can still get them.
I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t intruded skins for your building blue prints after all this time lmao. It’s literally something you see every game..
Spot on. Epic used to lean on the BP to "sell" Fortnite. They don't need to do that anymore. So the BP gets all the ugly and bland concepts. The art style is more "realistic" and generic. So the skins are more forgettable. The only thing selling the BP these days is collabs. Emotes are almost ALL collabs now, and they want to sell those in the item shop. So the BP is left with "filler" emotes that instantly get archived. They also waste like 10 spots on edit styles, when those used to just be included.
To be fair on the forgettable character designs, it's mainly because of the sheer number of BP skins we have now. One of the main reasons older skins are more memorable is because they came out at a time where there weren't as many BP skins. Most of the Chapter 1 or 2 skins would be considered forgettable, but they came out at the right time. Peely would still be a really good skin in the modern day, but would blend with the rest of the pack. But because he came out at the right time, he's become iconic. Nostalgia is a really powerful factor when it comes to memorable designs.
I miss the older passes now the current battle passes look the same, and id honestly respect epic if they went the halo infinite route where you can buy and grind the old passes
@@Thebigman2.0 yeah, I've been a major advocate for it but we all know epic wouldn't do it, they want to lock skins behind time gated battlepasses that force your hand and release trashy item shops that nobody asks for and now they have to cater everything for the new modes
@@Thebigman2.0 yeah, i just hope one day either epic listens or the community makes them, its just ridiculous that i cant get doom slayer because i wasn't playing then, or all the stuff i missed in chapter 1 passes because i was a dumb kid who didn't like to grind on the game
Another problem with the edit styles are when a back bling or another cosmetic with edit styles is unlocked but with its alternate style forcing you to grind out the bonus page for the main style of the cosmetic. It’s so stupid
Also when you get super styles you don't get them on any other cosmetics, onto the skin, so you have to try and combo different stuff with it that doesn't work just to match colors
@@cyberdragon3887and in chapter 3 battlepass whenever you get skins second style it gave you other cosmetics second style like if you got slap peabody it gave you pickaxe and backbling slap style automatically but now you should get them separately (ik peabody wasnt in chapter 3 its just an example)
@@billthedoritoguy4770 yes, but we're specifically talking about Atreus, who is the son of individuals from Norse and Greek Mythology, so it would still fit in the theme. what wouldn't fit is if I, for example, put Loki from Marvel into the game, because that version of the character does not have Greek heritage.
I started to play Fortnite in Jan 2020 on mobile, it was first season for Chapter 2. And you know what? I was so confused with building after PUBG and immediately dropped the game. After that I kinda tried to get back, but I had no android device or gaming pc😅 Long story short, I hate I missed so much, came back only in March 2023
I started playing in chapter 2 season 6, but then i stopped. I picked it back up during og fortnite. I finally got the battle pass and i regret not playing earlier so much😭
Back in 2020, you did quests to unlock a cool style for a skin. This made you feel accomplished. Now, you unlock a style for a skin that you'll never use.
Remember that Raz Style the one where he becomes purple, etc. Being that you needed to Defeat him on the spire, but then they removed the crafting on Game, the Crafting for me It was cool to obtain materiales from animals, etc. But now they removed Wild animals to Focus on the vehicle skins, i just want to ride a Wolf and then use him to create a Horde of Tamed Wolfs, after that throw the Horde of Tamed Animals to attacks players like the Boar where you could Push another Player with historia rush
It’s because we actually do. It used to be 1 item every level, now it’s not a guaranteed item every level since some things are more than 5 stars to unlock
It’s also gotten worse now as the real grind starts once you finish the main pass and need to get the bonus rewards beyond level 100. Originally in chapter 3-4 you needed to get to at least 125(?) in order to technically finish everything before doing the extra edit styles but I’ve noticed in the last two seasons I had to get to 140 in order to get all of the vbucks for the BP. It doesn’t help that it takes roughly 4-5 levels in order to get things in the extra rewards either.
Yearly chapters have kind of made me sad as weekly map changes are a thing of a pass with small story lines like teddy bears vs gnomes and coral buddies now its just big updates and no build up to the new season until the end same with secret skins when you saw the wolverines claw marks then footprints ect
Chapter 4 was just a bunch of filler. Chapter 5’s story is alright and easy to understand. Valeria, a rich, ambitious businesswoman and adventurer used the faction known as the Society to locate many riches. The one she wanted was Pandora’s Box. She succeeded in finding and opening it, unleashing the Gods on the island to try to return the evils that escaped. This angered Zeus, who chose to nearly kill the Society brats. After Hope defeats him, he angrily opens the box again, unleashing the wastelanders. Now we’re helping Hope and Jones against the Wanderer, a mysterious man who aids Megalo Don’s tyrannical regime. A little boring, but better than anything Chapter 4 gave us.
likely 90% of the player base didnt know that there was story in fortnite. Nobody who im played with in Chapter 1 knows whats going on with story. They didnt knew anything about it. And the most ppl are like that. So i kinda dont understand the point of story? Why should epic be doing an awesome story for 1% of the player base? The world is not about you.
This definitely needed to be addressed. I just got my old account back with items ranging from season 3 up until chapter 2 season 3. It genuinely made my heart smile seeing all my old emotes, toys, and skins. Just felt good to dwell on simpler times in real life and for the game.
One thing you didn't really mention that I wish they still did is giving the battle pass skins challenges that you unlock when getting the skin. They did this in basically every battle pass back in chapter 1, and almost all of these skins challenges were completable after the season ended. These challenges rewarded you with the styles for the skins (so they don't clog up the main pass) and they also gave you extra rewards like backblings, pickaxes, emotes, etc that also weren't in the main battle pass. Also a lot of the styles you got with these challenges were the actual progressive ones that upgraded the skin. Especially in seasons like 9 and X, every single skin in the battle pass had challenges you could do to unlock extra rewards. These challenges gave you more of a reason to keep playing and unlock all the cool rewards to match your skin, and also sort of bond with the skin as you are personally working on the challenges for that skin. Nowadays it's more so just "oh cool I got this skin" and that's it. Back then you got the skin but now had extra challenges unlocked with it to do and earn even more awesome styles and rewards to match the skin
One thing about secret skins, if i remember right, we used to not know who it was. but now its not fun. knowing who it is way before it unlocks just takes something away
@lvBLAI cramming garbage into the bp just to make people hate the game even more, then when the player count drops they release some random mode to draw them back? yep. they're clueless.
Something I really like about the Ghost v Shadow styles is that every player could only choose _one_ of the two styles and what players chose impacted the map. It really makes the styles feel special bc whichever one it is, its the one that _you_ chose. I wish they did something like that again
still just praying to god they bring back the old bp collab skins, the gatekeepers can keep the og ones but it blows my mind epic has resisted that option this whole time when ALOT of little timmys would go to their mommys to get the new superheros, they have some of the most ICONIC SUPERHEROES IN MEDIA locked away forever
Is the BP the ONLY THING that makes this game good? Not the gameplay? Not the storyline? Not even the skins?? Just..the BP??? That just sounds like you don't even like video games, then instead go shopping in real life with your REAL MONEY. @@Denizgunr
I really agree with you on the progressive styles but not only that I just wish they made a bunch of styles for skins in general, trying to like ROX from chapter 1, season nine I just miss when they put more effort in the battle pass. Now every single one is either a rescan or a collaboration. The collaboration part is very annoying to me because it gets rid of the creativity. Imagine we had the wanderer as the secret skin instead of magnet to be honest, they’re not even called secrets skins anymore in another example, I have is chapter 2 season one. I miss when there was quest to unlock a certain style for a certain skin. I know we have bonus rewards, but I’m talking about like actual cool styles not these random golden and black ones. Because if you’re gonna be honest, all the question rewards do is change the colour of the skin, not that much I wish when they put effort into the styles of the battle pass, and like you said the emotes
True we need more cool original skins like peely, the knight skins, omega and soforth. Collab skins make fortnite feel like a brand game of which there are already plenty
Thank you for talking about collabs. I hate collabs in general. It's just Fortnite being lazy and unoriginal. It would be ok every once in a while, but every season there is a collab, and several collabs in the item shop
@@fanumgoon it’s probably the opposite. People are tired of the lack of creativity in Fortnite. Most people would rather have quality skins rather than copy and paste skins that just act as a money cheap money maker. Epic is a slimy and greedy company and will do whatever it takes to make the most money. Even not listen to what the fans want
@@TeddyHenley Stop making excuses to yourself with "thats the reason i quit". Bro if youre not having fun then just dont fkin play the game? Its simple as that.
I need to be honest for one second here. I have been playing fortnite before season 4. I have seen the evolutions and reverts of battlepasses from season 5 chapter 1 to current. Its clear they have had a very big dip in overall feel, in reguards to playing for hours and hours and still feeling like you can do more weekly challenges and do more daily challenges. Nowadays you just get the secret skin for nothing and you only get a singular loading screen for finishing all weekly quests. AND THATS ONLY SOMETIMES, we used to be able to flex secret skins like singularity and ruin. But now legit nothing cant be obtained by playing for one hour a day. Anybody can say that even if they grind to level 200 and finish the battlepass, theres still a hole there. You cant really flex any secret skin or battlepass skin because it just gets handed to you nowadays. But back then with the fortbytes you fealt accomplished. But nowadays i feel bored, like i will just have to wait for the next season to to it all over again.
I kinda enjoy the changes to make passes easy only a lil tho. Back in the older seasons when I was really young several passes I was unable to finish despite playing every single day. I never got ice king or prisoner nor did I ever get season 9’s t100 or secret skin. As a dumb kid passes felt hard and imo impossible to finish. I do feel they need to bring back the interaction of older seasons tho. Getting battle stars and such felt like I was adventuring in a way and now there’s 0 interaction. Every pass now just has you only completing quests.
Ok Magneto, fallout's power armor korra, solid snake, petter griffin, kabe lame, optmus prime, eren yeager, gerralt the rivera, doom guy, spider gwen, darth vader, indiana jones, dr strange, spider man, These are the ones i remember and there is more that i dont remember because i did not played chapter 1 and 2
@@CERISTHEDEV There were no collab skins in the battle pass in chapter 1. Chapter 2 I’ll go from season 2 since season 1 didn’t have one. Season 2 was Deadpool. 3 was Aquaman. 4 was literally an entire Marvel season. 5 was Predator. 6 was Neymar Jr. 7 was Rick Sanchez. 8 was Carnage.

@@sonny_d.324 It's true. The metaverse and Epic chasing a paycheck ultimately has taken what Fortnite was and thrown it down the tubes. They could have kept innovating, making new stuff and content and kept pushing the boundaries for what we as their customers could expect. but nope they've done what every other game company does lately. Spend as little on Developing, Labor, New Content etc as possible, shovel shit in our face at full price and provide as little value for the player as possible because apparently were robots who will eat whatever slop is thrown at us. I mean we've seen what can happen when we get tired of shit shoved in our face (MW3, Skull and Bones, Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League etc). Fortnite needs to change soon or they might just lose a big chunk of what used to be the core of Fortnite, all for a bag too smh.
Now that Remix is out. I am not saying that it is bad but it is not the real thing. The lore basically doesn't exist anymore. I hate the new movement, the UI, the locker, and the terrible shop layout. It is honestly one big ad and freakin ice spice is in there for some mf reason. Fortnite used to be way calmer and it wasn't this chaotic. It is losing it's personality. It is like that one insecure kid who was already appreciated by his friends but is trying to be someone else in a weird way. The battle passes were actually fun to grind and get all the extra styles back then but now they decrease the xp you get and are forcing you to level up 50 more levels. I had so many memories cranking up the graphics, playing some music and just chilling doing quests.
soooo real i cant even name 1 battle pass skin now, back then the skins were iconic, it was "fortnite battle royale" only no rocket league game mode, no lego, no multiverse stuff and the best of all we used to have LTMS back then which made the game fresh every week
@youwontwin5354 fr, not only that the skins had a meaning, either it would be an easter egg in their name or on the skin itself! epic really should think about this i really miss donald mustard, plz come back without u the game isnt fortnite anymore.
I think the only ones that had relevancy this year with the storyline were mostly Jones (with his Vengance Jones skin) and Hope. I geuss you can also count Cerberus as well due to S2's story quests really making you know he exists (sadly by killing him all the time except for all but one parts of his own story questline), he is also the only one still here from last season. Other than those I mentioned, it doesn't seem that we have any known figures that can somewhat influence the storyline ither than Peely and the unknown character "The Wanderer". You could probably tell I play this game for fun if I'm trying to keep up with the story. I wish we had stories like the ones in C2 (C1 had a good story too, but not as solidified as it was in C2, and C4 seemed to be where the storyline quests felt a little empty and like filler, with C4 S2 being the best "storyline" we likely got that chapter)
The BP was good when there were .pets .the toys .progressing skins . Not related but when weekly challenges gave loading screens with secret battle stars hidden in them .
Love the little jingle at the start of the vid lol. But it really is sad how bad battle passes are these days especially with how many collabs there are (although in my opinion there are just too many collabs in general even outside the battle pass). Just got to wait a million years for any change to take place :(
Yeah two colab skins in a battle pass is way to much. nobody is buying the battle pass to wear magnito so idk get why epic even does that it's like they're scared that their original skins aren't enough or something.
@Raddish-IS-Radd I think they just use collabs to get people to buy the pass, and fill the rest of the pass with their crap cosmetics they know won't sell in the item shop.
I feel like no one gets why they don't do original emotes anymore They actually want to credit the artist behind it and add the original song that came with it too Thus making it icon series Most, if not at least 90% of the emotes in chapter 1 were just plain stolen
If they really cared about crediting the creators, they would’ve done so for the ones that were stolen. There’s definitely a way to credit folks without having the emotes being restricted to the shop
I think what they should do is the system from Quest Packs, where every quest gives you a point towards unlocking a style for the skin you bought. Imagine this system, but for every skin in the Battle Pass, then an Ultimate Season Skin for completing all of the quests for that Character.
Chapter 2 season 3 did have progressive styles but it was only for the teir 100 and not the whole Battlepass So it wasn’t entirely forgotten until chapter 2 season 4 or 5
As someone who has been playing since chapter 1 season 6 I can say I agree with all of this. The battle pass feels more like Epic tossing in whatever they want. Most of it feels filler. The sprays. The emoticons. I don’t want that. I want pickaxe’s, gliders, emotes, skins! Heck another argument about newer passes is not enough styles. Most skins get one maybe 2 edit styles and 90% of the time one of those edits styles will be for the skin alone and not the rest of the set. Same with the super styles. Just the skin, not the pickaxe, back bling or Glider! I feel like Epic needs to go back to those original battlepasses. Quit it with the whole (you choose what you unlock thing) cause that’s dumb. Heck there is no point to it cause you need to be a certain level to unlock 5 rewards. It isn’t like the old days where you can unlock a handful of the rewards and get the next page. along with progressive skins. I miss these a lot. Getting a skin that changes through the season. With new styles, colors, and a completely deferent look at the end was amazing! Yet that is also gone. I am really. Really. Hoping that next season Epic changes the pass for the better instead of what they have been doing since last year.
People will also show off and flex their "exclusive" skins to people who missed out on the battlepass, it should be a great idea to bring them back, also you can choose which pass you want to focus on (Edit: Magneto prepped us for Doom's arrival in season 3 building the rift beacons in many locations)
I think, after a few years, battle pass characters should be available for purchase or, old battle passes could come back as a series of quests. However, it would make this trade of the unique be less urgent
I have a serious case of FOMO and honestly the fact that I won't be able to play a few of my favorite characters because I wasn't there really sucks. There are indeed other great skins that I do love but I would love for some of this stuff to come back. I do see the other side though too of "I did all that work and people get the same thing back by trading $$$ or doing quests, what was the point." I get wanting to feel unique too, because it's great when you can flex something. I haven't really given much thought but I'm not sure what the right answer to this is. Making stuff unique for a couple years could do it, then just re-releasing old stuff after x amount of time, or doing alternatives but then that just adds to the FOMO again. Like you can think "Man, the original is so much better wth" but then the other person can't say "I had it in the OG days." Again me being a huge FOMO individual, I'm all for stuff returning. What the actual solution to everyone's problems they have with this stuff, I'm not too sure. But it really sucks my girlfriend can't play her childhood character (Master Chief) because we weren't into Fortnite back then, and probably wouldn't be in the situation to be able get that stuff anyways. I get it's all a game but enjoyment is the reason to PLAY games. So I get conflicted in discussions like these all the time. I feel everyone deserves to wear their favorite skin and stuff be accessible, and people feeling accomplished for getting a specific skin from a challenge, or even saving money to get that one skin (although I hate micro-transactions but here we are :/)
@@lutetiunn Dude, that's deep and tough. I must be much older than you, so, I deal with FOMO in a different way. I feel upset with their practices but I get numb over time. To be frank, I already feel I have too many skins. Not to mention, I get into collecting easily. I still have a CD and DVD collection and I'm used to the feeling that I'll never have everything I want. I see Fortnite skins as digital action figures. I can get them all or get the ones I can and I like. My collection will always be different and that can be fun.
I dont think that will ever happen because the only reason battle passes sell is because it is a one time exclusive thing that won’t come back (FOMO). Rereleasing old battle passes will cause people to stop buying battle passes in general because there is no longer that FOMO to it. I also think it would be unfair to rerelease old battle passes because the players who got them and played hours to complete them with the intention of it not coming back would feel like they were scammed out of their money and time.
As a season 3 player i really do wish that epic do bring back the old style the new format doesnt work well and its fsr too easy to level up as you mentioned in p1 but they also should add more emotes like you said at the start
@nergigante1_1 yea I mean that I'd something else because I lost my old account with the og stuff on and I am quite upset that I won't be able to get fable or like og lynx again
Progressing skins was the best with the battle passes, now the "progressed" skins are just the next page of the battle pass and they are just recolors...
New battle-passes are all carbon copies of each other, unimaginative soulless cash grabs, epic has hit a point where they are for the most part decently profiting off of them due to locking collab skins behind that pay wall, causing a sense of FOMO that you may not be able to own a skin of your favorite TV show or video game character, therefore allowing them to crank out battle-passes with the the same formula, layout, and barren bleak cosmetics, with the collab scandal now dominating the main highlights of each battle-pass, it completely overshadows every other cosmetic presented causing a lack of interest in epic making their original skins more unique, killing all chances of their being a new iconic skin like their was in earlier seasons like, the reaper, omega and drift. But the layout is not the only problem, another problem is that epic has gotten lazy with progressive styles and unlock-able styles as mystic mentions, epic has realized that the younger audience of this game feel more satisfaction when they can earn things quickly and efficiently therefore keeping them hooked therefore making progressive styles and unlock-able styles obsolete as it took effort and hours of grinding to actually see your work pay-off, with the new way of earning styles its a matter of just gaining a few more levels which quite frankly is not hard or rewarding anymore to unlock a variety of variants of a skin which is 95% of the time just a recolor of the skin itself.
I dont think they should unvault old battle passes but they should make more like that. If you did buy any battle pass you should be able to finish it any season.
Counterpoint, why have skins from the battlepasses/crew(yes it is added because it has never rereleased a single fucking skin since its debut) not have a alternative to buy? Wheres an alternative Superman, a normalish meowscles family member, or Wolverine? Im sorry, but thats a big gripe I have, what if I wanna play as Rippley or Rick Sanchez? Shit outta luck because of things out of my control?
@@Spiffyo Fr. I'm not a big fan of Superman, but I bought the battle pass back then, and unlocked his glider, but not him, so now I have a useless glider in my locker because I had no control over unlocking him in time.
So happy you did a part 2 of this, definitely was looking forward for it keep up the amazing work as always mate I really enjoy your content. It’s a shame how downgraded the bps are now I hope they’ll eventually have more dances, bring back pets and toys and not have edit styles take over tiers
Im gonna be fair but creative XP just ruined the possibility of progressive styles to even comeback, back then you got 25k exp after each x mins you spent on creative, capping at 125k per day, nowadays you get 400k just by doing nothing and get rewarded with it I even do remember when someone got to level 1000 on chapter 2 season 8, a lot of news were going up with Oooooh they got level 1k, while nowadays level 1k is just bland bc up to 500 people get it per season, which makes it way less unique
I'd like it if wraps were usable on cars since boats have been vaulted. The colors and decals are lackluster and redundant in my opinion. It would add so much customization to the cars and Rocket Racing in general.
Just making a 🤓🤓 comment here...but the game that really revolutionized dancing emotes in gaming was actually the Uncharted multiplayer series. First game I ever played that let us do that. Then it just became a normal expectation all around. I know there's maybe other games that also popularized it before, but just wanted an excuse to mention Uncharted lol
The biggest problem with the battle passes and really all skins is that ever since chapter 3 the girls have had NO ASS. It genuinely makes me not want to play the game because it’s always in your face and ruins the experience. Not to mention how they changed the running animations and made them look worse just so they could make them look smaller and further from the camera. How the hell is seeing a level 0 gyatt supposed to be a reward for clearing a battle pass? Bring back fortnite thicc and your revenue will skyrocket.
One thing that kinda makes me sad is that the secret skins aren’t even secret anymore, now they’re just collab skins that get revealed at the beginning of the season, I don’t care as much that they’re collab skins, I’d prefer them to be original but I really just want them to be secret.
About the collab skins being locked away, i started fortnite ch 3 s 1 bc i liked spiderman at the time ,BUT i was horrible at the game and I didn’t know seasons were timed i thought if you finished the battle pass you get a new one so I didn’t get even half way and didn’t get spiderman same thing with dr strange but for season 3 and all ofthe other. Seasons after that i got it i have no way home spiderman but it doesn’t feel the same as the original red and blue hopefully fortnite changes this
Then no skin has any value. It's very sad, but the pass is based on this. If this is done what you want, Epic will have defrauded me. Because even though some ignorant people deny it, Epic said at the time that it would remain exclusive to the pass. By the way, starter packages or STW packages will now be returnable (the same skin may return). Of course, I don't think the past will return because Epic can't do that by law. While this is already bad news, innovation will end. People want both old skins or different versions. Wait a minute, wait a minute, were you (I mean other people) playing because there was something original and new in Chapter 1, and now you want the same thing (the same skin to return or for example: jacket version)? Where is the innovation?
Things i hate now : no good loading screens, no toys / pets, literally no story, always collabs. And dude the way the battle pass is now, the current battle stars are so much worse than the old loading screen ones
I’ve been so let down by the battle passes recently, I’ve filled out so many lately and the fact that they’re so lackluster makes me even more disappointed that I never got to finish the old ones.
@@SuperWiiGuru yes rarity to skins and the old ui. Also the only thing i wan't them to do is bring the old weapons back even if they ad to them attachements
Classic battle passes we're honestly fine on their own. It's one of those "why fix something that isn't even broken" things. They had way more cooler rewards & more free rewards compared to nowadays. I don't understand how this game has so much content & it still feels either lackluster, underwhelming, & kinda forgettable.😶 Nowadays, players can just easily buy all 100 levels & just only have to work on bonus quest rewards & extra styles, but other than that, there's really nothing to do.🤔 Fortnite has truly evolved past its original identity , and it's starting to feel like any other generic game. When fortnite was "itself," it felt unique & special back then. It's really starting to give me Roblox vibes, & the whole metaverse thing doesn't interest me honestly. They're spreading themselves way too thin with all these other modes that I fear battle royale will get lesser content in the future. Who knows nowadays.😕
I think since after changes to changes and ups & downs for BR over time. Epic games can only do so much for br. Some seasons can be great & fun, and other seasons can be downright the worst. So Epic games try to do this metaverse stuff and add different variety content for long Jeopardy for game's future. And so far, right now, it is not doing so hot. I'm not against the metaverse thing, but Epic games need to execute it right if they want fortnite to drive for a very long time.
@@damann7778 You must be a part of the newer generation of fortnite rather than the classic OG generation to truly consider the battle pass is better nowadays when it's pretty far from the truth. Fortnite really should bring back old battle passes because it’s unnecessary to gate keep characters that are not real and it would be great for new gen players like me
Yeah you wish to have old battlepass skins but i tell you it will never happen. The only thing that would be good to happen is they bringing back the old battlepass system, like battlestars separated from the level, progresive skins, secret skins where you had to do challenges to unlock them, and the other challenges section like there were of course daily challenges and weekly challenges but there also were as you progressed the battlepass like challenges for every charater in the pass so you can get the complete set for them like gliders or pickaxes or even backblings.

I think that just opened the floodgates for “exclusive” skins like it, crew packs, maybe some starter packs, etc. To be able to return to the future, since they’re allowing people to keep it and giving the og owners an edit style. I think a big issue about modern BP are that they arent... good anymore. I rarely buy a battlepass thinking 'damn I want this skin'. I usualy just buy battlepasses nowadays because I get more vbucks out of it and a few items to stack my locker which i'll never use...
I typically want at least 1 skin and so that and the vbucks make it worth it. The skin alone is worth it cause most skins are at least 1200
I remember back in chapter 4 Season 1 i wanted to unlock the whole battle pass but I really just wanted to get doom slayer because he's from one of my favorite games
Exactly…..that’s the only reason I bought this chapter 5 season 3 battle pass. The amount of skins I have and don’t use is wild to me.
So real everytime I buy a BP now I don’t wear any skin of them it’s just for the vbucks they give me

I think another big thing that made battle passes so special was the addition of a new kind of cosmetic (sprays, toys, back blings, etc). These were also only available through the battle pass at the launch of the season. Epic needs to stop taking the safe route and start being a little more innovative in terms of the battle pass
Especially since they took the opposite route, and that most of those concepts have kinda disappeared
So you want Epic to gatekeep Pets, Toys, and any new thing they add? I personally think it's better they only add stuff like that to the shop so you can still get them.
@ltisdabest21 well they haven't added any of those to the shop in a looooonnggg while
@@Saved2_447 Doesn't matter if they have or not, it doesn't make gatekeeping them in a bp good.
Banana skin would never been released if they used the same rute they use nowdays, thats sad
Right, i’m an emote collector and it’s annoying to see us getting 2 second emotes or collab emotes from unknown people in the battle pass
your art style point is spot on.
they even have an in lore reason to add characters with different art styles but it's either anime or realistic

It’s also gotten worse now as the real grind starts once you finish the main pass and need to get the bonus rewards beyond level 100. It doesn’t help that it takes roughly 4-5 levels in order to get things in the extra rewards either.

I think the only ones that had relevancy this year with the storyline were mostly Jones (with his Vengance Jones skin) and Hope.
Ive never understand why they put Profile Banner and Sprays/ Sticker in the Battlepass, never ussed a single one of them
I feel you don't remember the chapter 4 passes, because they were actually jam packed with good emotes, especially ch4 s2
Yeah you’re right. They were cooking a bit especially with the beatzbunny emote, then I’m a mystery, they just have to keep it up!

The knight skin is actually a really good progressive skin tbh
And the primal season too
That was a long while ago
We can complain all we want about the new battle passes, but we still buy them anyway😭
I'm not buying in for 5-4 tho... I'm done with this shit after wrecked
who is we i havent bought a pass since c4s2
@@StoicScarf I stopped buying in since like 2-7, I did buy the last 4 tho
People will also show off and flex their "exclusive" skins to people who missed out on the battlepass, it should be a great idea to bring them back, also you can choose which pass you want to focus on (Edit: Magneto prepped us for Doom's arrival in season 3 building the rift beacons in many locations)
I miss the old emotes turned into lobby tracks the newer ones are meh they cooked so much with those from chapter 1 and 2
I think, after a few years, battle pass characters should be available for purchase or, old battle passes could come back as a series of quests.
Like you can think "Man, the original is so much better wth" but then the other person can't say "I had it in the OG days."
Again me being a huge FOMO individual, I'm all for stuff returning.
Fomo is not a good thing@@realCosmicCuriosity
Just a reminder the last time a secret skin was "secret" was chapter 2 season 8 almost 4 years ago😭
Bru chapter 2 season 8 only turned 3 recently
As a season 3 player i really do wish that epic do bring back the old style the new format doesnt work well and its fsr too easy to level up as you mentioned in p1 but they also should add more emotes like you said at the start
I'm actually quite okay with the newer battle passes however I am quite frustrated that Optimus Prime won't come back in a long time
@nergigante1_1 yea I mean that I'd something else because I lost my old account with the og stuff on and I am quite upset that I won't be able to get fable or like og lynx again

From the marvel pass onwards all the battlepasses are shit
What about OG?

Every single battlepass past the marvel season in Chapter 2 have been complete garbage, no exaggeration. What is Fortnite thinking?
I hope fortnite makes it so you could complete Old passes you bought but weren't able to complete avaliable for completion
5:36 actually, it was in season 3. Only for the tier 100. Just making the armor black. Neat little fact but most people don’t know
The old, chapter 1 skin styles were so good and I miss them. I don't enjoy those new ones as much
New battle-passes are all carbon copies of each other, unimaginative soulless cash grabs, epic has hit a point where they are for the most part decently profiting off of them due to locking collab skins behind that pay wall, causing a sense of FOMO that you may not be able to own a skin of your favorite TV show or video game character, therefore allowing them to crank out battle-passes with the the same formula, layout, and barren bleak cosmetics, with the collab scandal now dominating the main highlights of each battle-pass, it completely overshadows every other cosmetic presented causing a lack of interest in epic making their original skins more unique, killing all chances of their being a new iconic skin like their was in earlier seasons like, the reaper, omega and drift.
Finally someone mentions the collab skins being constantly put into the game, especially Marvels ones.
festival stuff should get like a pickaxe with every instrument that ofc, shows what that instrument is
I dont think they should unvault old battle passes but they should make more like that. If you did buy any battle pass you should be able to finish it any season.
Fr that would make fortnite rich
Their would be a high rate of players

I absolutely LOVED the beskar quests with Mando!! I remember completing them with friends as we leveled up, it was so much fun :]
Im gonna be fair but creative XP just ruined the possibility of progressive styles to even comeback, back then you got 25k exp after each x mins you spent on creative, capping at 125k per day, nowadays you get 400k just by doing nothing and get rewarded with it
I even do remember when someone got to level 1000 on chapter 2 season 8, a lot of news were going up with Oooooh they got level 1k, while nowadays level 1k is just bland bc up to 500 people get it per season, which makes it way less unique
Just in those 15 first seconds I can tell we have the same opinion on this lol I love it
The biggest problem with the battle passes and really all skins is that ever since chapter 3 the girls have had NO ASS.
FR
One thing that we want epic to have: originality
“we invited aqua man, he said yes! we asked him if he could wear a shirt, he said no.” take me back bro
Chapter 1 battle passes had more rewardeds tham every other chapter
I’ve been so let down by the battle passes recently, I’ve filled out so many lately and the fact that they’re so lackluster makes me even more disappointed that I never got to finish the old ones.
Let's not talk about the fact that they removed rarities of the skins. They completed ruined the game.
Or the old ui I started playing in chapter 4 scn 2-3 and the old ui was so much better and rarity too
@@SuperWiiGuru yes rarity to skins and the old ui. Also the only thing i wan't them to do is bring the old weapons back even if they ad to them attachements
The boombox emote from chapter 2 season 5 is so good lol
Classic battle passes we're honestly fine on their own. It's one of those "why fix something that isn't even broken" things. They had way more cooler rewards & more free rewards compared to nowadays. I don't understand how this game has so much content & it still feels either lackluster, underwhelming, & kinda forgettable.😶 Nowadays, players can just easily buy all 100 levels & just only have to work on bonus quest rewards & extra styles, but other than that, there's really nothing to do.🤔
Fortnite has truly evolved past its original identity , and it's starting to feel like any other generic game.
I'm not against the metaverse thing, but Epic games need to execute it right if they want fortnite to drive for a very long time.
keep crying, I'll take way more rewards and more vbucks over OGs basic 100 lvls any day

Fortnite really should bring back old battle passes because it’s unnecessary to gate keep characters that are not real and it would be great for new gen players like me
Won't ever happen no point to buy battle passes if you can just buy it later snooze ya lose womp womp
@@Chapy1189 I smell youth from this comment
No they shouldn’t lol on you for starting later on there’s been times where I missed out on a couple passes or some not finished all the way threw and that’s completely my fault and on me and I’m ok with it knowing how they do they’re system and it’s fair
@@Alright281he is right. There would be no point in battle passes otherwise. Battle passes replaced loot boxes in the game industry. Loot boxes is basically gambling while the battle pass system incentives players to play the game now. That is what a business is for.
The fact that paradigm was brought back accidentally today
I think that just opened the floodgates for “exclusive” skins like it, crew packs, maybe some starter packs, etc. To be able to return to the future, since they’re allowing people to keep it and giving the og owners an edit style. And they’re also going to allow future battle passes to be purchasable after 18 month’s.
