    I use the same brushes for my oxides,archival, distress inks, hero arts dye inks. Have zero issues mixing the different ink formulations on the same brush ! I just make sure I get rid of the previous colour.

    I think it's best to support the small companies in the craft industry if we want them to be able to continue to provide products for our use. I'm still using my TH mini ink blenders for lots of projects, but do like to use the blending brushes as well. In my case, I don't need lots of full sets and have an assortment of sizes of brushes including ones from the Picket Fence Co., Honey Bee and the Stamp Market. I have one for each rainbow color family and a couple of small ones for use with stencils and the brushes clean up nicely and have held up well. Just my opinion! :)

    Oh wow, nearly all the well-known crafters do not say what you just said outright! I watched expecting you to say the same and was awestruck when you stated they perform equally ... been watching your videos for so long but this - it turned me to a subscriber! Love from the UAE!

    That is exactly what I did to mine like a year ago. Way before Taylor came out with hers in colors. I actually have a ten pc set of multiple sizes. And then I have 15 of the very same size as Taylor’s a year plus ago. I took some sticker paper. Used the brushes to ink up the different families and then stuck the sticker in the back of the oval head and then used glossy Accents to seal it. I have them in a mason jar on my desk. I also made a strip of the same colored sticker paper and wrapped it around the handle with some tape over it. So although I thought they were quite pretty. I could not justify spending the money for them.

      So what type of makeup brush do you use? I'm so new at this , I have oodles of questions. I would like to know what is the difference in these brushes compared to the little short handles with the removable pads on top? ( Idk what these are really called).

    I have both the amazon brushes and the Taylored expression brushes. I like the Taylord Expressions ones better because there are 10 of them, all the same size($5 each). I do like the colored handles. I could have painted them myself but the colored ones are very easy to identify. I did not buy the caddy from Taylored but got one from Etsy-MakeitbyMarko-the peacock shaped one. It's very sturdy. I did not think that I needed the beautiful brushes from Taylored Expression but I have found that I really love them.

    If you don't want to cross contaminate different types of ink just swipe your ink pad onto a mat and pick the ink up from there.

    Whichever ones you buy, it's your choice. I can't imagine spending lots of money just to have the name brands but if someone wants to do that, go ahead!
    My only suggestion is that once you try using any of these brushes to do ink blending, you probably won't be going back to sponges. (I have the lower price version.)These are so much easier with great results.
    Thanks for sharing and always useful information!

Waiting for more lawsuits down the road? Sure hope not! I got mine from Amazon.... they work great! Thank you again! 💕🙋‍♀️

    • @DellyDoo
      @DellyDoo 4 роки тому +4

      No lawsuits. It's not a copyrighted art design like a stamp. I shudder to think of how many of my eyeshadow brushes would be at risk if one company could sue another for the idea of a makeup brush. 😉
      It was in fact the crafting industry that came in and repurposed very inexpensive oval makeup brushes (that have been out for over a decade) and started charging 2,3,4,5x more than you could already buy them for. Most companies are private labeling cheap brushes from China and applying significant markup. I respect that TE had theirs manufactured and did something actually different. My friends gave me a set of oval makeup brushes in 2008 as a Christmas gift. These brushes are not new.

    I think it’s sad that someone e discovers an inexpensive makeup brush set and repurposes it for use in their craft room then along comes someone else and capitalizes on something that already exists, charges a boatload of money simply because they used a cheaper colored handle. The one that should profit is the one that originally used makeup brushes in their craft room.
    Lesson here is if you repurpose a non craft item for use in your craft room and it works brilliantly contact the original manufacturer and work a deal with them!

I am looking into blender brushes, and want to know if the bigger brushes can be used with ink cubes (most videos I've seen use a similar combination like this video), or if I should look into investing in brushes that are smaller. Thanks for being honest. It's ridiculous when I see something I've owned forever being marketed as a new product with a massive markup like some duped makeup brushes. Same design, same bristles (there are plenty of white bristled makeup brushes out there for many many years), and rainbow handles were marketed to a much younger audience back in the day. Seriously, please be unique and I will spend the money. Like the TE label stamp and die set that cuts out 20 at a time. That is a clever idea, not some rebranded high quality makeup brushes.

    I just purchased the Taylored Expressions brushes:
    1. I prefer to support a small business in the US.
    2. I don’t believe in buying knock off designs. Those cheap brushes are taken from the original company, Artis, who developed a beautifully designed makeup tool. I happen to own them as well. Are they pricey? Yes. But I saved for them instead of buying a stolen/inferior design.
    3. I appreciate that the brush heads are the same size.
    4. I tried a friend’s set of cheap brushes and IMO, yes you do need a brush for each color family when you do a lot of color blending - I ruined a project after having cleaned a brush, because the previous color was still in the bristles. I cleaned it again and and same issue. Had to run it under water to get it all out.
    5. IMO recommending knock off products is no different than buying stolen stamp images from sites such as Wish.
    I’m very disappointed in your review and recommendation especially since you’re a small business owner yourself. Unless there was something wrong with the craftsmanship of the brushes, I think you should have refrained from posting this.

    • @lesleydickson7746
      @lesleydickson7746 4 роки тому +6

      I would usually totally agree with your comment about not buying counterfeit products however in this case it difficult to tell which are the originals and which are the 'knock offs'. These brushes seem to have been available cheaply before the craft companies got on board. who is copying who?

    • @DellyDoo
      @DellyDoo 4 роки тому +10

      #2 B.S. These are not knock offs. The cosmetics industry debuted oval makeup brushes over a decade ago. The crafting industry came in, doubled the price, and is private labeling (with the exception of TE) cheap brushes from China with overinflated markup. Crafting doesn't get to claim these brushes. Period. Go bark at your small businesses for copying stuff that's been out there forever if you really think brushes can be knockoffs
