I purchased some 'Glad Press 'n Seal' (70 sq. ft.) at the grocery store and wrapped a sheet around my Misti pad--grid paper in place, as usual. The Press 'n Seal product should be facing sticky side outward. I secured it on the back with plain old blue painter's tape. Just another option to consider. Works like a charm.
It does not matter if you go over the 2 mins. I am super grateful for this tip! I appreciate you taking the time to share with us. Thanks so much. Arlene
A few years ago there was a very similar product by LittleB. The sheet was clear with a very confusing grid. But what I (still) use it for is for unmounted rubber stamps that I buy at stamp shows. They're less expensive when unmounted. I put the sticky sheet on the Misti lid and the rubber stamp on it, then it functions like a clear stamp. Works like a charm. It looks like that sheet is no longer available, that's why I'm excited about these sheets, I think I can use them the same way and also with the tips you gave us. And I can just imagine Greg rolling his eyes. You two are so cute together. Happy belated birthday!
Alexandra and Greg- I have the stamp platform. I took your “tip” in December and used it. I absolutely LOVE IT!!! Thank you so very much! I have a disability which makes using the platform a necessity. Not having to deal with magnets is so much easier for me. I also have them on my Gemini and Gemini Jr plastic mats as that’s the sandwich that I lay my dies on. Haven’t actually taken the cover off yet as I’ve done very little die cutting but I will soon. I always look forward to your tips. Knowing two minutes won’t happen 😉 and I’ll almost always learn something new. Thanks again!
U rock!! There is truly no one like u!! I love how u and ur husband are best friends! It warms my heart and I appreciate every single video u do for us!! Thanks so much!!
I am a Newbie and I'm excited to hear about this, because when I do use my misti magnets they leave dents in my Cardstock all over my paper from the corners of the magnets😫😖😟 so I put them off to the side and started using purple tape to hold my Cardstock down. This is going to make life so much easier, because I already have that misti matt. Thank You so much for sharing. I hope that you made it to your Fl. Home, had a very safe trip and that your all moved in and ready to play with us on your UA-cam Family Members Fan Club.❤😊❣ Sending Love, Hugs, Blessings and Happy Thoughts to you and all your Family and Friends. XOXO Vicki ❤ from Utah See you soon on UA-cam Luv😊❤❣
I can't imagine how you're making dents in your cs with the magnets....been using MISTI for years and never have experienced that! Maybe you're pushing too hard on the cover when stamping? That could damage the MISTI, so be careful.
Thank you so much for such a clear, easy to follow video. Ii just received mine was hesitating putting them on my MISTIs...now I’m all ready to go. You’re the best!
Hello Alexandra, thank you so much for that tip, tried it and have not looked back! Not sure if this would be useful to know, but have Tim Holtz stamping platform, so no mouse mat option and craft foam is a bit flimsy, but easily sorted, I used one of the very flexible but super strong thin plastic A4 grids from a quilters template assortment (don’t quilt, but bought it for card crafting and stamping). It was called EZ 6 piece quilting template assortment, some gridded, some plain, fab for putting over the top of card stock and then lining stamps up etc and easy to cut to size. Love the channel and loved watching your hubby join you in the card making, now to get mine involved.
I've been using a cut up cricut mat to do the same thing for years now. I keep the plastic protective sheet on my mat when I'm not using the Misti and haven't needed to replace my mat in my Misti yet. Works like a charm and I don't need to bother with magnets :)
I have been using sticky sheets since they came out from Tim Holtz some time ago. They are terrific and I use them for everything. You have to try them for sure! (Magnets are gone) Great Demo---I use the pad as well---THANKS!
After using the Sticky Grid for a while, does it leave a residue on the stamp pad? I want to use it on the stamp pad as well as the cover for my unmounted stamps & really don't want residue remaining. Thanks for demoing this new product!
I use a temporary adhesive to hold my card stock to my laminated grid sheet. I already have temporary adhesive on hand, so it is cost effective. I paid $8 each for Sweet Petunia bar magnets and they are just too thick when working with clear stamps! I don't want to damage my MISTI, so I supplement thinner/less powerful magnets with temporary adhesive.
If this is out of stock, you can also buy rolls of temporary book covering plastic, which is very cheap. Cut a piece to size, use double sided tape to stick the non sticky side to whatever surface you wish and then peel off the backing paper - same result.
Aack! I just ordered the a4 adhesive sheets, which are apparently not the ones demonstrated. The 1st link went straight to the tool sale page for tonic and that was the 1st thing I saw. Oh well, I can use them on the rubber stamps I took off the woodblocks I guess. But after reading the comments I think I will try an old cricut mat (since my mini cricut is obsolete, I have NO other need for them, don’t get me started...) before purchasing the low tack adhesive sheets used in the video. Giving this tip a thumbs up, but thought I might share a heads up to anyone using the link above, just read the fine print on the object you’re ordering!
I’ve cut sizzix eclips and Cricut mats to fit for my stamp positioners, but any digital cutter machine mat will work, just buy when they are on special offer!
Another tip. From one lefty to another. When the Misti first came out there was a left handed version & a right handed version. But then the left handed version was discontinued. This made me sad. Then Iliana told me just peal off the deacal and turn it around. "It works".
Sissix Sticky Grid Sheets (large size) sold out, boohoo…put in for notifications at both Scrapbook.com & Ellen Hutson. Went to Tonic USA & got the extra 20% discount though. THANK YOU Alexandra!!! I appreciate this “quick’ tutorial on the Sissix Sticky Grid Sheets, 🥰🤗💗💐💡!!!
Great Tip! Thank you! How does it work when you stamp a large stamp onto the cardstock in your Misti and it hangs off the cardstock, meaning you are not using the complete stamp on your cardstock and it stamps onto the sizzix sticky grid...... does this muck up the sticky grid with the ink or can you wipe it off? Can you share your experience with this. Thank you so much!
You cant wipe it off but I either put some rough paper around it, or use my laminated piece with smaler sticky grid underneath; I have a video coming up how to do large stamps with sticky grid :-)
I've just had mine delivered this morning, however I didn't take into account just how tiny they are. Should of checked the measurements 🤣 looking forward to seeing how I get on with them.
You can tile the smaller ones just make sure the 'sizzix flaps' are all on the same end and tape over those flaps so you have the longest use out of them
That is fantastic tip. I’m just wondering what if you need to stamp on the edges of your cardstock and some of the ink goes on the sticky sheet, does that ruin the stickiness of the sticky sheet? Thanks for sharing.
Where you place your paper on the stick mat and you want it to go right to the edge of off the cardstock. Try placing a scrap piece of cardstock or paper so it doesn't get ink on your sticky mat. I haven't tried it but when I can get some sticky sheets I will be trying it.
@@HedgehogHollow No I think they meant airways leaving it on the mouse pad (permanently) but putting the top release sheet over the sticky grid to keep lint off of it when you aren't using it. Even though you can keep the Misty closed, dust can still sneak in. What a great tip. Bravo!
Hi there! I enjoyed seeing how you use the sticky sheets. It looks like a great solution. I wonder if you or anyone has tried restickable adhesive spray on their mouse pad or laminated sheet? I suppose it could leave adhesive on card stock but still I wondered if that would work. Another thought would be to use Glad Press N Seal and secure it with tape like you did. Probably isn't as good but it might be doable until I'm ready to place a bigger order and get the sticky sheets with it.
love this tip! thank you! Have been very intrigued by this product and I think would be awesome to use in Misti when you have a large stamps that stamps off the cardstock (having cardstock in middle of misti). Question for you...... can you get ink on this sheet and if so, does it remove easily
You cant remove the ink but it doesnt affect the stickiness you can also use a smaller square on the mousepad for larger items just to hold the cardstock; I guess thats another 2 minute tip!
Yikes! My bad! I used permanent sticky sheets, not grid, did not realize there was a difference! But I absolutely love this idea and I’m now going to buy the right thing and try again....if I can clean off my Misti mousepad!! Woe is me
Great tip... I'll be ordering some sticky sheets next week and I might try and see if a mouse pad would work in them so that I can save money a bit. Thanks again for the tip.
HI...I'm new to this so please help. It looks like at the end the flap didn't close or rest on where the sticky sheet is palced...I was wondering if you put your stamp on clear side and needed to re-ink a stamp, it would work well? I'll order things today(What is the name of the purple tape) & hope someone will go over what I seem to not quite get...yet ! But I shall...and thanks very much :)

No that's a different item; the tonic link is a Hedgehog Hollow exclusive code but i'm not sure how you are getting to that page as it doesn't take me there; the sizzix sticky grids are linked in the video description and those are the exact ones i ordered which give the release. Best wishes
I just did this, laid down my cardstock to stamp on......it stuck completely to the base and now I have a ruined piece AND I don’t know how to remove this sticky mess off of my Misti mouse pad! Help please!
I have never had any cardstock stick but i advise curling your mat and the cardstock will easily come away; similar to removing things form a cricut mat; to remove the residue use a spatula or blunt knife and it should just scrape away
thought it was a great idea until reading other comments; will not be trying this as I don't want to ruin products due to a mistake/product etc. Have to watch spending closely when on fixed income.
I did this ages ago - but in my Tonic positioner - because I would NEVER support corrupt Misti. Also, any free mousepad will work - don't need to spend on the Misti one.
I agree I bought the original misti but after all the dust settles would never buy another... love the Tim holtz and it is not the same at all works much better as would stamparatus and They are others coming I'm sure those who cannot create better sue
I have a Misti (made in China) and a Tim Holtz Stamp Platform (made in USA) and quite simply, I always reach for the T. H. Platform because it is superior. Much more heft, that substantial feel is marvelous when ypu stamp. It's lid is flipable to accomodate the thicker rubber stamps too. The grid is etched in. Basically, the thing has had some engineering whereby my Misti looks put together in someone's garage. Here is the bit that baffles me, these lovely creative UA-cam teachers usually like quality so why is the inferior one so popular with them? Anybody know?
Faery Fox If you’ve been Scrapbooking / card making for many years, u’ll know Misty came out 1st. It was at that time “god sent” and 1st of it’s kind and to many of us who used stamp alignment tool / similar technique to make multiple batches of cards via stamping, so much faster / less errors and waste with perfection every time (even with double / triple re-stamping on the same image). Misty was grown out of a garage, hand assembled back then aka made in USA, now in a factory aka China). I believe most of us from back then all bought a Misty and we all loved it still. It was many years after that brands like WRM and Tim Holtz came out with their version (Misty made improvements over the years like etching and tools - feedback from users). Tip: if u remove the pad u can stamp with rubber stamps just fine. Don’t get me wrong, I have both and I love both (they each have their strengths and when I teach, I teach both) but when I travel, I’ll take the original / mini Misty with me (just easier to pack). I guess for me, it’s a habit that came with constant usage - I’ll pick the Misty 1st. Tim’s one is great for bigger areas (bigger paper placement). Honestly you only need 1 tool of the same nature - just pick the one u prefer - each to their liking :)
@@kitkat5634 Yes, I have been scrapping/Card making for years and I too used and still have the positioning tool. I have everything Misty, I just prefer by far the good manufacturing qualities of the Tim Holtz. Thanks for sharing...well noted!
When I see a video saying "never need a...again" I always assume its a money saving hack. Well, this appears to be a more uneconomical alternative. Not impressed. Oh and the fact that you are uk based but using the misti which we can not source without overspending also deserves downvote.

Please, PLEASE, some of us ladies are hard of hearing so could you please speak loud.
Kathy Stanley I have the same problem but if you tap on the 3 dots in the upper right hand of the video you can turn on captions
When I see a video saying "never need a...again" I always assume its a money saving hack. Well, this appears to be a more uneconomical alternative. Not impressed.
Oh and the fact that you are uk based but using the misti which we can not source without overspending also deserves downvote.
Sweet Cream you do know she lives in Ohio not the UK.
why call this a two min tip when its a 7 min video
lovely tip thank you.
