I know coppers deal with some right scrotes and people you would cross the road to avoid, but why do they now just go straight into them v us mode? What happened to a polite 2 way conversation and escalate if and when necessary. Poor training and poor recruitment process I believe has alot to answer for.

They’re told what to perceive as a threat, how to respond, how to engage with the public in any given situation, which is why they all respond with the same lines. They also genuinely believe they they are legitimate targets for terrorists, as that is drummed into them, whereas the fact is it’s the public who are the target. You handled that brilliantly, which is why I’ve now subbed.
