Rich, Love you, dear.
I am Mathew and 72 years old. A few days back I got an iPhone 13 Pro and was really struggling to get used to it. Watched a lot of youtube guide, but none were intended for senior citizens like me. Then I stumbled upon one of your videos, (about using Notes, I think) and straight away fallen in tune with you.
Yes, this is the right recipe for people like me.
No, Rich , I am not a completely novice in technology . But I was using an Android smart phone for the last two plus decades. Out of curiosity bought an iPhone and really started regretting it before I watched your video.
Heartfelt best wishes for all your future endeavours and eagerly waiting for the next one.
Your diction, way of explaining in simple but precise , is commendable.
Once again, Thanks my friend.
God bless you.
Mathew.
Hi Roy! Thanks so much for the kind comments. I started making videos for my 92 yr old mom and wanted to make sure I didn't jump through stuff at light speed. Then a lot of my friends who saw my videos commented that they really liked the pacing and that I only covered a few things instead of a bunch of stuff. And it's all grown from there. Comments like yours really provide the encouragement to continue. Thanks so much for watching!
thank you for sharing this
Thank you for Your videos. I googled how to do something and your video was a top choice in selections. I not only watched it but watched a few more you have . Great information and helpful. I’m 53 have had a iPhone for years and still do not know all the perks it has and your wonderful to showing them. I like the music so booo on those who did not. Lol
Thank you so much your videos are very helpful and easy to follow.
Glad you like them!
I’ve been using reminders too and love it! So helpful!
one of the few that is easy enough to follow, thank you
You're welcome!
Great site for us oldies,
Thanks!
I would like to take this time to thank you for helping people that have never used a iPhone before
figuring out these things especially if they’re over a certain age the season age 😊
Thank you for going through things slowly
I truly appreciate you
God Bless you and your beautiful family 🙏🏾
Great video series, Rich! I recently purchased an iPhone SE 2022 (3rd gen) and I absolutely love it! Your videos have helped immensely!
Using Apple Reminders lets me plan my weekend plans easily. Where I'm going and when I'm going there. *Love* the location reminders!
Always superb instruction, again many thanks!
Your'e welcome!
Very well explained, Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Thank you
I’ve been trying this for a long time and you have been quite helpful
Happy to help
Thank you so much for these great Tips for Seniors videos! You do such a fantastic job of explaining and demonstrating how to do each of these wonderful tasks. You talk at a great pace that makes it easy to absorb what you are saying! I appreciate you making the wonderfully helpful videos!
Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad the video helped.
Rich, Great UA-cam videos for Seniors. I have been using my iPad for years but the videos for the most part are for young, knowledgeable users. Yours are great for us seniors getting the most out of our iPad, thank you. Keep them coming, I have certainly learned some very useful tips! David
Thanks! So glad it was useful.
Super helpful! You’ve added a new (senior) sub. Had to replay the “location” part a few times, but eventually got it figured out. This will be a major shift for me in my use of Reminders.
Glad the video helped. And thank you for subscribing!
Great Video!!
Thanks!
Thanks Sir
You're welcome!
This is excellent! I can now create grocery lists for specific stores and use Location Reminder for those lists. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I absolutely love your videos! I am 48, but new to the iPhone platform. You have no idea how helpful your videos are. Thank you so much!
Happy to help!
Thank you Rich. I always learn something interesting and new each time I watch and rewatch a video.
You're welcome. When I make these videos I never know if they'll really be helpful or not. It's encouraging when I get a comment like this. So thank You!
So glad i found these videos i would like for you to consider people that have never open the reminder list on the iphone before it does not look the same as your i was confused with being able to do some of the things on my iphone 11. I still enjoyed the video because it helped me have something that i can use and love when I’m able too
Thanks so much for watching. Your reminders list may look different if you've not updated the software on your iPhone.
This is a great video I just started using Reminders and I am going to save this so I can refer back to it
Great! Glad it helped. Thanks so much for watching.
Very good video! Unfortunately, iOS 15.3.1 doesn't have location reminder. In iOS 15.3.1 you must use the Notes field to create a sub-task. Apple really screwed up a the Reminder app.
Excelent
Thanks!
One of the most efficient ways of making Notes or Reminders is to click on that microphone button.
Thank you always had samsung phone .I'm 72 what a challenge! You are making my transition a little easier. I can rewatch and review. Hope you do calendars. I would like to cut the cord on the my paper calendar.thanks again
I do plan on releasing a video on How to Use Apple Calendar in the near future. Glad this video helped!
I couldn’t believe that you live in Raleigh! Lol
Also, Siri can add things to Reminders. I am in the kitchen and I see that I am using the last of my eggs. I say Hey Siri- Add eggs to my grocery list.
Thank you so much, apparently iphone has updated "Reminders" so many of the things, such as flags and subtasks, are no longer available. Also, as a senior, I would really appreciate you turning your music off, if not off please lower the sound. Thanks for what you do!
Thanks for watching. Yes, Reminders just changed again with the IOS15 update. I'll be updating that video soon. Thanks for the tip on the music. I try to keep it low in a pleasant way in the background.
Useful video
I had to watch it a few times, that music just sent me to sleep
Cheers
Yes background music is distracting. Good video though and thank you. 😊
Hello again Rich. My mom takes drugs almost hourly. I've tried to download some apps (ex. Hourly Chime) for her but the notification is not loud enough for her (or anyone whose not sitting right next to their iphone) to hear and there were other complications (one app didn't work at all); therefore, I wanted to suggest a new video from you. "How to Set Hourly Reminders" Thank you so much for what you do!
Good idea! In the meantime, you could use the Clock app on the iPhone and set hourly alarms. It's not hard to do and the volume is pretty loud too. Hope this helps!
@@RichBowlin Thank you for your quick reply. iphone alarms is now connected to the "new health app" which wants you to turn it on in icloud". It is ridiculous how much info big tech wants on each individual. Furthermore, I did try your suggestion and it was too complicated to set it up for hourly reminders. Meaning, to me it appears one cant do that; however, I've had an iphone since iphone 3 so I know alot more than my mom but I'd not say I'm all that great with all the features offered. And, just to make you laugh, I also downloaded a "pill reminder." It was so technical and had so many DETALED options my mom said it wasn't possible her. I agree, those who take tons of drugs are generally older people and that app was made for someone very tech savvy which usually, u as an exception, aren't tech savvy. Thank you again for what you do!
I don’t get the subtask button
Is there a way to change the name of a reminder? Just found your channel, I am off to watch all your videos. Thanks
You can always edit the reminder and change its name. You can change the name of a reminder list too! Thanks so much for watching!
When you make a list will you get a notification ?
When it comes to location services e.g your Home Depot don’t you have to have your phone plugged into your car? Or can you have your phone in your pocket like you said? Thanks.
You can have it in your pocket! But if you have CarPlay, you can plug it in and view the map on the screen. Thanks for watching!
Ok
Very helpful but the music in the background is very distracting and takes away from you video. Very appreciative of the video though:) It's definitely not just for seniors
I'm getting batter on the audio portions of the videos. My mom said the same thing you did! Thanks for watching!
@@RichBowlin I actually *like* the background music as long as it's quiet enough to not interfere with your well-paced voice.
Sub’d & Bell’d
Thanks!
...
will you plz assist me to merge duplicate contacts. Thx, Haim
Stop music in background
Good video but your music is terrible. Lose the music!
I hear you. I keep getting a blend of comments from "love the background music" to "kill the background music". Glad the video was helpful. Thanks so much for watching!
Video is way too, too long!
