Thats the veggiest freezer I've ever seen.
The joys of stock footage, there's no way my actual freezer would have that much veg in it 😂
@@ProperHonestTech I think your search term for the stock footage was "veggiest freezer"
Lol! Rotf! This comment made my day!
My son suggested me watching some tutorials to get more out of Notes and Reminders on both my iPhone and iPad. I found yours both informative and simple to follow. I have now signed up to your weekly emails as well. Thank you for making things so easy for a 75 year old!
What a fine fellow you are! Sublime presentations and for that, this seventy-year-old newcomer to iPhone, I thank you--my wife talked me in to using her old iPhone cast off. I had used a Nokia 6700 for some twenty-two years swearing of the new technology. Great structure and content for me. 😉
Welcome to the Apple ecosystem!
Great!
My reminders app has pretty much replaced all my other digital planners. Always welcome tips to make it work harder for me.
I personally never got enough out of Reminders, and didn’t understand it for a long time. Now I use Things 3 on my work iPad and on my iPhone to keep work to-dos and projects straight, and it’s such a powerful tool I don’t think I could ever swap over.
Loved this one, reminders has gotten so much better in the last 3 years or so. In this video you do a great job showcases it’s features and usability!
Since getting my first Apple device I use Reminders all the time and nothing else. I have found it very easy to use and it works pretty darn good for me. After showing my wife that we can share a shopping list and no longer have to use a 3rd party app she has used the Reminders app and has deleted her 3rd party shopping app. Thanks for all the informative Apple/iPhone videos I have learned tons of things about the iPhone and it's eco system.
This guide has been incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for providing such amazing assistance!🤗
One word - AWESOMENESS! I'm buying you a cup of COFFEE! and binge-watching your videos the next two weeks.
Thank you!
This is the best Reminders tutorial I’ve seen. Many thanks!
Just found you on YT and am enjoying the fact that you focus on a topic and provide clear explanations of their functionality. Thank you!
Great and concise explanation - thanks 😊
Thank you! Love your videos. Very thorough and informative.
I just found this tutorial, and It was exactly what I had been searching for. Thanks for your time in creating this video!
This was an awesome breakdown! Thanks!
Amazing. Thanks for the visual demonstration with useful examples and clear concise explanations. I see some of these options and think “I should look into those” and then never do, so now I think I can make use of them.
Another really helpful video Tom. I’m a big reminders user but still picked up on a few things I didn’t know. One of if not the best channels for getting to grips with all things apple.
I love Reminders and have been using it for years. This was a great presentation.
This guy knows his stuff😎👏🏾Thanks this was very informative 👌🏾
Thank you for sharing. I'm going to starting using it.
Great video! Extremely high quality. Great transitions and mic quality. Helpful as well.
I agree, could do with being linked to calendar. Great video 👍🏻👍🏻.
Very informative. Going to try some of these and watch the video again.
Hey thanks, this was an especially useful video for me. I appreciate all your hard work!
Really enjoy your product reviews... some of the best coverage, and best presentations I have seen... Apple would be impressed with your presentations and knowledge... Keep it up, Regards, -BC
Thank you for the marvellous explanation as well as tips and tricks.
this is a great tutorial. I learned a few good tips!
Awesome video as usual! Your videos do an excellent work of explaining smilingly simple apps in a way that really helps to utilize the most out of them - thank you!!!
I’m learning a lot from your channel and I just started following you ❤
thanks Tom, I love your content and ideas.
Love your video, Thank you Sir.
I really appreciate your clear demonstrations and explanations.
I love your videos, great work and keep them coming !
Thanks for the tips!!
You've moved up on my list!! thank you!!!
I will use this after watching your video! Thank you
Hi, these videos are amazing especially the one on the reminders app. Keep up the great work. Well done indeed.
What a great tool! I’ll be utilizing reminders from now on. Thanks!
Started watching your videos from very few days first time I even watch your 10 videos back to back your content is great 4 days ago I started using reminder after watching your old video on it and now you posted this thank you mate. Keep it up much love❤❤❤
Thanks, that's awesome to hear!
This is an excellent video with many solid advanced tips. As a former android user, I have tons of lists in Google Keep with no easy way to move them over. I think iOS’ implementation of subtasks is cumbersome to google keep where you just indented the subtask from the main list without needing to go into a sub menu. If you have your office365 account added to apple mail (even if just for contacts and calendar etc), the tasks list will sync nicely with outlook on the desktop/web and it will show you all your flagged email as well. There are not many wins for us PC users when it comes to iOS integration but this is definitely one of them.
Very good info. I will definitely implement this app into my work. Thank you!
Great Content Sir
thanks for this video your narration was excellent. been using the Reminders app for quite a while but I never used it to share a Shopping list with my wife..thanks for the idea now I have one and it works perfectly…thanks again
Excellent. I use Reminders all the time and learned a few more tips today!
thanks i’ve always struggled with the reminders app
This was super helpful! Definitely about to play around with my reminders app now
By far the best video on how to use the app. Well explained.
Love it! Million thanks, bro!
Thanks for that, got it all set up, definitely be using it more now, especially the freezer reminder 😂
This is a great video. Wow, so much you can do with Reminders! Awesome.😀
Great job, as always!
Amazing stuff. Thank you.
Excellent video. My wife and I share grocery, Walmart, Costco etc. I share a to do list with my grown children which includes projects they want me to help them with when we visit. Love this app.
Can’t believe how much I was missing out on. Thanks for the video 😊
Share the shopping list is gonna make my life so much easier. Thanks.
Thank you, however, how do I get the reminder, to alert me? With audio or pop-up? Is there an option for this?
So glad I found your channel-so much useful information. I also appreciate your professional manner of delivery-I can send my kids to your tutorials without hesitation! For some reason, “location” and “when messaging” doesn’t seem to work for me. I wonder if the 16 update just needs to work some bugs out?
For lazy students like me who is not organised and procrastinates a lot , reminders help me to revise my digital notes once every week by linking my notes in Ipad to the reminders app . With phone in my hands throughout the day compared to ipad , it's a very useful tool for students .With tags and smart list everything gets automatically organised in the way u want without actually wasting time on the setup. Must have app for students
How to link notes to the reminders??
@@aditidabhadkar8181 in apple ecosystem u can share it to reminder. There will be similar ways to do it in other devices as well.
how do you link your notes to reminders app???? I have been wondering if there is a way to do that. You say you can share it to reminder but how one does that?
@@attika70 Click on the share button , after opening a note and then from the app list select reminders
This guy actually helps you fall in love with Apple Apps. Such a great video I always learn something new. ⚡️⚡️❤️🤙
I just recently switched from using Calendar as a reminders app to the actual Reminders app and it just simplified my workflow quite a bit. Now no need to edit the reminder entry in Calendar to mark it as done, just touch the widget in Reminders and it's done. Way faster.
I recently switched from Microsoft To Do, and I really miss the "My Day" feature. It was so easy to add all the tasks I planned to work on for the day to the My Day list. Hopefully Apple Reminders catches up!
Thank you for the informative video! It has given me ideas how to use reminders on my iPhone. Great examples!
Another great video! So well presented.
One of the really cool things is that you can now drag and drop reminders into the calendar app and vice versa. If you're a big to do list guy that just can't commit to when to do certain things because of too many variables in you life, you can have many different to do lists and drag and drop individual task into the calendar app when you see fit... 😁
How do you drag it on to the calendar app? I can’t seem to be able to do it.
@@MyUsernameLovesMe You need to be running Monterey for it to work. Make sure the reminder is selected and just drag it onto anywhere you would like it in Calendars. It didn't work for me until I upgraded to Monterey...
@@Nightflyer720 Actually it does work in IOS as well. Just drag and drop any reminder (it seems) into the calendar onto the day view, and it creates an event for that reminder right there where you have dragged it. This might mean opening the date in the calendar and then the day view for that date, but it does seem to work.
@@dziobusz I appreciate the info, but I see no way to accomplish this on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.
@@Nightflyer720 it works, while holding the individual reminder you need to swipe up to get to the calendar and then place it in the calendar where you want it scheduled
I use my calendar to remind me of things but you clearly explained how to use the reminders eloquently. I will try
Very helpful
Your Newsletter today is Fabulous!!!! I continue to be mighty impressed with your Style.......#totalclass 🍎
Great video. Very useful and clear
Thanks
Hi Proper Honest Tech, another great video.
I need to create a monthly to do list of 14 tasks. I will be checking items off as i complete them throughout the month. I guess you could call it a rolling to do list, which on any given day will show my completed tasks, on the list, from previous days in the month, as well as the tasks which are still outstanding. Is this possible in reminders? Any help appreciated.
Very informative
I do have a question, since i am a student, i want to be reminded of my assignments daily. For example if i have an assignment due on Tuesday, i would wanted to be reminded from friday to monday. Can we do that?
thanks for the video! i love the Reminders app and i too wish that Apple would combine Calendar and Reminders!!
I have lots of to-do apps, but I tend to use a calendar accessible on my watch using MemoMa. It's the calendar on which I store what I eat. I need to lose weight. Then when I get home and can load calendars on my Mac, I move the non-food entries from the weight loss calendar to the appropriate calendar. I have one for notes (reminders, to-dos, random thoughts, etc.), one for Appointments, and one for Medical. When I was teaching (I just retired), I also used a calendar for my university (classes, meetings, etc.). All calendars were different colors so it was easy to see to which calendar an entry belonged. Based on this video, I will now test out Apple's Reminders app. It looks like I will have to add an entry to Today (at the top of the list screen) and then move them when I get home. I would rather have the lists on the top of the watch face as a list entry is typical of what I might add.
14:15 your tip here to add email linked reminder using Siri was fantastic, thanks so much. Any idea why this is so hit and miss with the Siri command remind me about this? Any advice on a more full proof command? The linking to email and automatic reminder title only seems to work some of the time in both iOS 16 and 17 (dev)
Such a good video I’ll be using this tips for sure. I remember that I used to set reminders to call or text someone in my contacts and the app gave me the option to call directly from the reminder, now I can’t find that option or ask Siri, has this been removed or how can I set it up again?
Also if you have an exchange account you can add a list there and it will automatically sync it with your to do and outlook app.
Thanks for the video! Is it still possible to link someone from your contacts to a specific task item? For example, I'd like to set a reminder to text John tomorrow afternoon. How do I set this task and have the text message icon appear on the right side of this reminder so I can simple click on it and am taken to my text thread with John in the message app? Can this be done with the phone, FaceTime, & Email apps as well? Are there specific settings that need to be configured for these functions to work in Reminders?
Enjoy your videos. Great to the point information and since subscribing, have learned so much. I totally Agee with your comment: Wish Apple would incorporate a sync with the calendar. I love the feature regarding tags and locations in Reminders.. I tag a reminder with a location and when entering that location it pops up on my watch.
I'd like to see a video (if you haven't already) on the Apple Password Manager . It feels awkward and keeps all passwords- ones that have been changed making it awkward. I have simplified with just writing down the password and labeling it in a way I will remember, taking a photo and putting it in Notes or even Photos. Much easier. Any suggestions? Yes, I realize Apple will eventually do away with passwords. In the meantime...
Thank you for your videos!
Im new to ios and my devise is Apple phone 14. I was an android fan initially. But once into ios now I regularly follow you. And this time I simply admire todays topic and the way you made it so intriguing.
That's great to hear!
Thanks for the tip on how to edit the Reminders widget. It always defaults to the Today list. After watching your video, I’m now able to edit the widget to display the Today list. Thanks again.
Great video. Very helpful. Is there a way the notification of a reminder can be like an alarm which will not stop unless I snooze or stop it? Also is there a browser version of the reminder app to sync with windows laptop?
Great video. Thank you. Is there a way to use subtask on Mac? I couldn’t find that; it's frustrating. Thank you again.
Nice video and very helpful.
So far I think to google still doing better work to add tasks and reminders to the agenda.
It Is possible to see all you need to do on one page or app.
I still waiting for Apple to show my notes on the calendar to stop using google.
I love that you show how to get the most from Apple built-in apps. I have been using Reminders and really enjoying that it does all I need. I recently downloaded Grocery from the app store (which it says works with reminders) but I have yet to see any benefit, thinking I should revert back to reminders. What do you think? Have you tried Grocery?
So, my wife typically uses her calendar app to remind and share her work schedule, but when it changes or she adds more dates they seem to just compile and I don’t know if it’s new or old. Might the reminders be a better way to keep each other updated as to something like that?
Hi, I’ve been watching some of your videos and loving the tips. I want to do a couple of repeated daily reminders and wondering how I would set up. I watched one video where you converted a list or reminder to a template and that got me thinking to use reminders for my daily lists. But I can’t seem to wrap my brain on how to do this so any tips would help.
well u r the first channel I support in my life cause you rally useful and u speak slowly plus you show every step well .. thanks and keep on . sorry if I can't support always ..
if you never mind there is any way to link reminder and notes to google keep ?
we can share reminder with none apple user ?
thanks
Thanks for this useful tutorial. I can hide the completed items but they are still there. How do I delete the finished task list?
I wanted to create a smart list that shows me tasks with no date (from selected lists)...but the problem seems to be that I can't select more than 1 list. Is that correct or am I doing smth wrong?
Thanks SOOOO much! I use my reminders a lot (2036 already has one!), but that new-to-me list feature is really great. Now I know! Love it!
Didn't use reminders before... Everything either went into notes or agenda...
I guess this is the perfect middle ground, I'll see what works best for me and what to put where...
Thanks, Tom. I watch what you and others do with this app however I still have the feeling that Reminders is something between Notes and Calendar. I still haven't found any reason to start using it. I use Notes 30 hrs a day + Cal. I put all Note "reminders" there and share them with others via Cal or iCloud. Again, thanks for what you are doing for us. :-) J
I've not used the Reminders app on an iPhone probably ever, but thought this could be helpful. However, I am discovering that my version of Reminders has far fewer features than yours and it doesn't appear to have any sort of update available. Any thoughts?
One thing that's annoying is if you have a task with subtasks the easiest way to see them is in the task's main list. In Today or Flagged to see the subtasks you have to tap on the "i" and scroll down to the bottom and tap 'subtasks'. Also, attachments look different depending on whether you're looking at them in a list or Today, etc. I wish there was consistency among views.
I used Todoist but it eas really bad at sync, and it gradualky became more obscure. A few years back Reminders stepped up, and only thing I miss is Calendar sync. I also went from that note-app with a green elephant, but now I use Notes.
Please can you make videos about MacBook Air just got one and trying to learn the tricks and tips. Help!!!
Between reminders and notes apple apps have replaced many of the apps I used to have on my phone.
2:31 What pen are you using? 🤯 Looks amazing! Big fan of your work btw!
