This isn't construction. This is art.
The way the grain of the access door matched the flooring is very satisfying :)
Im trying to imagine any contractor putting this level of work into flooring or woodworking in the states outside of high-end home construction. If I could get people like you to work on projects I've designed, i would be ecstatic.
Having been on high end projects, its way worse than you imagine.
@@Kryynism Cy and gold star inspections have enlightened me to the state of new construction in 2024. Million $$+ homes with basic issues and shortcuts? Par for the course.
@@theunknownleaf409 yes sir. Everyone gets the same garbage
I woul be shocked too find out that anyone who has worked on my house even owns a hand plane.
High end houses cut the must corners with stuff it's terrible. You would think paying millions you would get a perfect house LMAO!!!! Nope
that move you pulled at 6:05 planing down a piece the thickness of a hand saw blade is some of the most clever shit I have ever seen
Is there anything more beautiful than a wood floor? I want to sit there and just look at it for hours.
An absolute pleasure watching you work. The craftsmanship is outstanding as usual.
i seen the videos 3 times already because of how satisfying it is to see the artist rebuilding his kitchen, hes no carpenter, hes a artist true and true. the attention to the smallest detail, all the decisions made in order for the most satisfaction from your work, the way he made the flooring grain match perfectly even with the access door, wish i could learn from him.
You can clearly tell that this this person loves his job. I can only imagine how thankful his clients are with the love and effort that he puts into each and every job he does. It's truly a work of art how caring he is with his craft. I wish that workers here in the US that build houses put in even a fraction of effort this master does.
Thank you for these videos.❤
It’s not even about love. He takes pride in his craft and it would be dishonorable for him to anything less than his best work
Thank you Shoyan-San for showing us your work and providing voice-over in english. It's a joy to watch a master at work. Best regards from Sweden.
Japenese people always make fantastic carpenters, cooks and anything else they tend to do. The most respectful people on this planet too. This is the type of guy you want doing all the joinery work in your home.
they learn to master ONE set of skills in work and become true masters of that skill set
from iron working to cooking they give the best they have to the job they do
No its not, it would cost you about 10x market price. The work is great, but the time and materials would make you broke.
@@LouSaydus I mean he's the type of guy you want working in your home if you can afford it.
@@jackiebiskan4748Yeah I noticed they seem to choose one thing and stick with it, then they pretty much become a master at that type of work. Hard working and honest people too. Would be great to live over there.
@@LouSaydusNot really, you can spend pretty much the same or just a little cheaper and get trash quality house in the states 😂
This is my first video watching this after coming across one of your shorts and I got to say no carpenter in America will put this much effort into something like this. Absolutely phenomenal work.
As a carpenter myself, that diagonal brace extendable template brought me such joy.
Hello from British Columbia, Canada! Your work is inspiring and I hope to work as a carpenter in Japan one day.
お疲れ様でした。
Is anybody nearly hooked by the phrase „match the color and grain“ as me? 😍
He thinks about every little detail.
To be honest. That's the first thing any carpenter should be doing! Your material and set up is key to finish. It's like building a wall. The foundations must be right also. I'm a Carpenter from Dublin, Ireland🇮🇪
Hand tools are key 😉 Always!!
Have a blessed day guys❤
Mr Shoyan ❤ love watching your work
Do I ever love watching people who are extremely good at what they do, do they thing they do over a series of videos. I watch it all.
That floor is beautiful, and your workmanship shines through. I love the access door setup. Thank you for showing this.
this may be the most beautiful wood floor i have ever seen.
Not a lot of furniture makers can do furniture as good as he's doing floor. Crazy
the grain continuity between the door and the floor is a killing detail ♥
Perfect! What a recommendation! I love seeing the skill and efficiency of a such an experienced artisan!
That is so beautiful. Your craftsmanship is wonderful to watch in action.
The dedication to detail is awe inducing.
You can give your translator a raise 😂! Exceptional video of a master working for himself. Quickly, more 😊
Knocked it out of the park. Thanks for yet another relaxing video.

As always, IMPRESSING craftmanship, You, Ishitani, Bradshaw Joinery and New Yorkshire Workshop are all awesome
Watching Shoyan is a meditation. Inspiring and beautiful, as always.
A lifetime of experience and craftmanship. Had I been 30 years younger... Amazing artist.
It's amazing to contrast both the effort and skill to here in the states. But also the quality of the wood itself.
Simply fantastic work. My dad did what you do so i respect the trade and truly respect you. 😊
This is just so nice ❤ Let's see that finished floor one more time! I love having a long look at the final result!
Thank you for allowing us into your home. You have a beautifull home.
I can't stress this enough.... this is absolutely stunning work!!! i love it!!
I did not know floors could look this nice.
You are the most beautiful craftsman. The attention to detail in your art is wonderful. -from America

Incredible - it looks amazing! I really enjoyed watching you make the access door. Thank you, once again.
Really enjoy these videos. Just bought a house and watching your craftsmanship is just incredible.
Thank you for your video's. I love listening to you and it is so informative at the same time. Please keep making videos like this.
Sir, you do such beautiful work. The people who live in the houses you work on are blessed. Thank you for sharing.
That diagonal brace measuring tool is amazing.
Gorgeous floor Shoyan., thanks for the video. Look forward to next one.👍
11:19 that was a cool access panel. You should make the access panel so that no large people can get inside. That way they will be dependent upon short thin people in order to repair anything.
とてもきれい!😍完成した部屋を見るのが待ちきれない!
That is a lovely floor , well cared for trees
Wonderful quality and work of the very highest standard
Fantastic job! I can begin to visualize how your renovation plans are progressing and that is fun to follow. Thanks for your videos.
Your craftsmanship is outstanding.
OMG The floor is SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! And I can't believe just HOW BEAUTIFULLY SEAMLESS you made the access panel look!! You Picked the BEST placement for the handle too... You are an AMAZING Carpenter!!!
I trust this guy more than some of my own family members...
Excellent craftsmanship, sir.
Beautiful work. Respect from Scotland.
That cypris floor thougj! Gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing. End result was perfect!
Very pleasing to watch.
Its so great to see your skills at work creating this beautiful renovation.
Discipline and artistry in perfect harmony on display. This was so enjoyable and satisfying to watch.
Always very nice. I love great work.
You work like my father does, i love watching this. You are inspiring me and ill use these techniques on my jobs thank you
A well laid floor with beautiful timber is like a valuable piece of furniture. It matures with time and is always enjoyable to look at.
Your work inspires me to work better on all of my projects
Aiba, another valuable tip from the master.
Shoyan, it would be awesome to hear you talk about how you make your layout marks and what you're thinking about when doing it.
You remind me of essential craftsman here in the pacific northwest of the united states.
Exciting to see that he even paid detail on the grain of all little parts. Japanese carpentry is a little different from European and even Siberian. I did experienced both 1st hand and now learning some new technics. It’s mostly small methods, but as always the minor things can change the outcome and at some points the needed effort at input 😉
thank you for living up my day with your perfection
Truly beautiful work, a joy to watch!
Very nice work. I learned a few things that will be useful. I'll be looking forward to the next video.
You are a great teacher, thank you for sharing. As always, another wonderful and great video. Cheers :)
Amazing, what a wonderful floor and what a great job.
You clearly put a great deal of thought, effort and pride into your work. I look forward to seeing you realise your vision in your home.
Varje fredag efter bygget vet man att det blir en av dina filmer ❤ser jättefint ut 👍
Kämpa på 🔨🪚🇸🇪
Everything is perfect. Unfortunately I can't understand why you removed such a beautiful big window....
Now I know why and why I like products from Japan - because QUALITY ABOVE EVERYTHING. Thanks to the master, respect to you!
is really so amazing to see how an artisant works
Masterful work, Shoyan-San!
This joint!!!❤😮😮😮
I envy the quality of lumber he has access to.
no bs show off skills, just pure effective, professional and experienced technique
very cool angle brace tool
this is amazing work, the result is beautiful.
What a gorgeous dream come true! I am so happy for you, Shoyan San!
Amazing work. A beautiful room.
I have to say that the saws cutting on the pull seems so much better than the English cut on the push. It seems much more accurate and also easier to work with. The same with the wooden planes mainly cutting on the pull (although it looks like they can be used both ways) and being wooden they seem so much lighter and easier to handle than the English cast metal planes.
That's a really beautiful looking floor. Would love to have something similar in my living room!
I would love to have a carpenter like that in Texas❤
I think it must be very satisfying to do this work to your own home knowing that you will see it everyday. Such beautiful careful work!
