As a semi-retired carpenter your project is a work of art. Great design and quality work will reward you for many years to come. Keep up the good work on restoring the rest of your site.
Who else was staring at the drill when he opened the gate with the opener?
3 words. Impressive. Beautiful. Awesome.
I admire not only your craftsmanship skills but also the patience to it in such fine detail. It turned out beautiful. Hats off!
Not sure how I landed here but glad I did. Excellent craftsmanship and extremely well put together video production.
This is all around amazing!! The craftsmanship, the design, the functionality, the technique, the detail, just everything! Amazing!
The end result amazes me. The parallels, the watercolors, the joint gaps are accurate, which is a serious challenge with such a large size and weight. Moreover, all this in simple conditions and with tools! Congratulations, use it with pride and health.
This is one of the most incredible builds I have seen on here! Such a nice job! Now I need one at my house!
i made a metal gate almost identical to yours for a guy and used the same principles with the steel as you did with the wood .
It was labor intensive work but the end result is good .
Excellent job… that is truly one of the most beautiful Gates I’ve ever seen. I’ve been in construction for over 45 years. Great job!
Watching from Canada, thank you so much for your video show to me get good idea for my big home gate, may god bless both of you.
Bless you mate.
I like your devotion , not just yours, all people who wants to get theyr job's around the house by them, I don't know your studies or what are you doing for a living, but your wife is next to you, good team, I didn't see many people before, been hard worker is better than waiting for benefits, bless you 🙏🏻
Brilliant! I'll look up Topens, as I've Got a 4x2m manual gate and dream of automating it! Thanks!
Great job guys 👌 Another option for posts is digging a minimum 1.2m /4ft deep hole and compacting aggregate around the post.. that way, moisture can escape the posts and stops them rotting out at the base. Also makes replacement easier in the future and is more environmentally friendly than concrete.
If the gate is anything to go by the house will be amazing. Makes my gate look like it’s for kindling 😮
Not sure how I landed on this video but I'm glad I did.what a beautiful work of art ....Love it .. From Cape Breton Island In Mabou Nova Scotia Canada........
Have a blessed Day ..May God Bless us ALL ...

Thanks for sharing
@@udoubuilder4823 it’s a really nice convenience and pretty simple to install. I’d say they’re well worth the investment
Brilliant work! Hell of a job for two people.
Safety glasses my young friend. Awesome talent!
Well done you two fantastic job on the gate build 😊
Great workmanship & a brilliant result.
Steve.
Awesome project! I'm amased on how quickly it opens good job!
Wow. Everything about this video is perfect. The gate, the craftsmanship, the narration. Very beautiful gate.
Beautiful build! (550LBS) Came out very nice. Greetings from California!
Brilliant job beautiful gate 👏 👍
Now that is a must have. Great work guys 👌👏👍
Awesome guys... that's so good. Materials, design, quality of work... really awesome. Love it. Well done to the both of you. Fabulous.
That's one impressive gate!
Great design, craftsmanship and execution! Well done
WOW! That is a fantastic gate! Bravo!
Done this a few times, the next time around I’ll weld up a steel post mounted to a concrete base, via adjustable studs, as posts always rot out in my area.
This will be sturdy for a few years then they're gonna regret making a massive concrete bathtub for that post to rot in. Water that does get in has nowhere to go. Doesn't matter how thought out you think your plan is. Water WILL get in. Rain. Puddles. Splashes. Dew. Condensation. Snow? Jack hammering that pour gonna be a bitch.
Just binge watched your videos you have put in a lot of hard work and it's paid off the house and grounds are looking good can't wait to see what you do with the church well done
@@dianefowler5351 thank Diane, well done our best to keep the videos coming
I was waiting to see the cordless drill driver get squashed!! (19:34) 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 But a spiffy job indeed, looks wicked cool!!👍👍👍
@@brandenoconnor7299 yes I hadn’t noticed until it was too late, fortunately it was fine 😂 thanks Branden!
@@project.restoration truly a lot of thought and energy was devoted to this project. Video editing was so awesome greetings from Orlando Florida.
Congrats, beautiful end result, should last years. 👍
THAT IS A NICE SETUP! 🤩🤩🤩Thank you for choosing our product. We are truly impressed by your DIY talent and how you have completed your auto gate project in such a neat and smart way. We totally love your auto gate and hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
@@TOPENS thanks! it is a great product, I only wish you sold the JY9132 as a single opener instead of just as the pair, that’s what I really needed.
@@project.restoration Thank you for sharing your expectations with us. We’re glad to tell you that it’s already in our plans. Stay tuned😉!
@@TOPENS I’d be very happy to install one and do a comparison review on both if you’d like to send me one?
@@project.restoration Certainly! It’s an honor to know you're interested in reviewing it alongside your current model. We'll definitely reach out to you once the single version of JY9132 becomes available. Stay tuned^^!
@@TOPENS Seen this single gate opener would peak my interest in its ability. There’s a lot of wind load and weight on that gate hinges and controller , I would like to see him, put on grease able bullet hinges . they did a terrific job. They put the word team work in the project. look at the enclosed caption.10:12 time in video. Truly amazing from Orlando Florida.
Excellent work! The gate frame was ababsolutely magnificent!
Friend did a similar gate, in two parts meeting in the centre, but I don't think his posts were buried as deep. Consequently high winds shifted the posts. One post was actually bolted into the house wall and it tore the fixings out of the brick work. His gates were completely solid, yours at least have some board gaps which should make them less of a sail in high winds. Plenty of comments on it being overbuilt, but I think I'd rather expend twice the effort overbuilding it once, than having to build it twice.
I say, that is most splendid correct!
Fantastic result!
This is so beautiful gate!
Maybe that software company that got big creating Windows might exchange their Gates for yours. Excellent job.
Beautiful install. Nice detail with the acorn nuts securing the gate assembly lag bolts.
Excellent work mate , truly
Truly a great fantastic build you see the teamwork 10 minutes and 12 seconds in. I would consider using HD greaseable bullet hinges. There’s an off a lot of weight on those pin hinges.
@@bobbennett3153 thanks Bob, yes I did try to find some greaseable hinges but I couldn’t find anything that didn’t require some welding skills, which I’m currently lacking 😂
Now that's a gate!
I am stunned the post is able to bear the weight of that gate. the moment of force at the end of the gate must be at least 6000lbs. Looks great. Congratulations.
yea my concern as well. i can't imagine that post stay's plumb for long. But a nice build overall
Amazing work
Some custom screens for each of these openings would be a nice touch!
Beautiful gate
Wow! Very well done.
Thats impressive !
Great job I think you’re a doctor or somebody in the medical field. Truly a perfectionist. Great job.
@@johnshuttleworth983 thanks John, but I’m not a doctor unfortunately 😂
So beautiful, so useful
AWESOME WORK !!
I want one of those, will Amazon deliver? lol I was drawn to this video by the algo...it knows what i love to watch before i know! Great choice algorithm! Awesome workmanship!!
Looks awesome! great job!
Impressive build! Awesome!
Great content love the talk over
Impressive...to say the least! :)
AWESOME WORK .
Amazing!
Very nice job very nice
in 200 years time, people will be tempted to cut that gate in half to count the rings. It's a stupendous bit of work and will be serviceable for generations to come (though the electronics might need replacing every thirty years or so). Bravo guys.
Engineer’s Motto: Anything worth doing is worth way over doing. This gate will withstand a nuclear blast. The gate will be standing and swinging long after the house has fallen down and turned to dust.
Archeologists will find this gate in the future and marvel at the technology.
Impressive gate. I have an understanding that the diagonal bracing should be orientated in compression rather than tension for maximum strength to prevent racking. Also you stated that you were using treated lumber, inhaling fumes of the treatment chemicals is hazardous. Your gate is a testament to your meticulous standards.
@@218philip yes that’s correct and what I went with on this gate but there are ways of constructing bracing to utilise tension.
Due to our wet climate we wanted to use treated timber for the Shou Sugi Ban as a sort of “belt and braces” approach but yes it’s not ideal burning it for sure. Thanks!
I enjoyed every minute of this video ,well done . This channel is on the up 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very nice Work !
Off topic, but you have an amazing home!
Great job!
I'm not sure how I'd feel if Alexa told me to "hang on" tho, LOL.
Not enough can be said about how wonderful the gate is. But I am very impressed with the wireless hand truck steering/lift assist unit. A woman who works with you is an indispensable force multiplier. I am subscribing.
@@victorriceroni8455 yes I think it’s only a matter of time until Elon musk releases the unmanned hands free cyber sack truck for this very purpose 😂 thanks for subscribing
Was it just me or did everyones Alexa say sorry i didnt find a group or device named gate when he askled his Alexa 😁Great build by the way
that is beautiful work.
This gate was incredible, 👍👍👍👍🙋♂🙋♀
Great work. Fantastik. Echte deutsche Wertarbeit.
Nice job. Looking great work
Wow. Fantastic . Welldone
very nice indeed !!!!
That’s a HUGE gate! Beautiful though! Great craftsmanship bet the frame weighs 22 stone!(about 300 lbs) he says it weighed 250 kilos, that’s 550 pounds!! Whoa!
Outstanding indeed.
Looks great😊
Great video! The only problem was that at exactly 22:50 you made my gate open 😂
Joinery masterclass. Thanks for sharing.... you also have a new subscriber!
Wow that is beautiful! I would be scared to be caught behind it.
Benchmark job 😮
Nice Job ❤
Excellant
Nice folks
Great work! The only concern is the fiction on the hinges
Lovely work and gate . Hope it swings ok but not sure for how long it will stay aligned ….good luck
Bodaciously Awesome
Brilliant work and brilliant editing makes it an easy watch 👍🏻 just subscribed
My Lord, what a massive gate. You could keep the Romans out with that gate.
I was thinking the exact same thing, lol
Beautiful build. But those hinges will not keep out Romans for long. I do not comprehend why not 2 gates given all the excellent works on the oak posts and a wall to brace presently unhinged one to. Plus the nice electric conduit. Even so very lovely. Have noticed 10 years seems maximum working life for powered wooden gates near me while manual last 30-40.
