    You hit the nail right on the head nick. This was a smooth forgiving blade for me. In my 34c it was a bit mild and felt "unsharp." But give it a try in a more aggressive razor like the 37c. I found that the dorco 301 plus the 37c was the perfect combo for close comfortable shaves.

    I am new single blade shaving. After a lot of research, I decided on a Leaf Twig for my razor and these Dorco blades were included in a sample pack I ordered to help me figure the right blade for me. It gave me 6 great shaves before I felt I should change it. Still evaluating blades, but these are on my short list so far.

    Love love love these blades! Perfect balance in smoothness and sharpness. I dont really benefit from a feather or astra, doesnt get me any more BBS, just more skin irritation. Only thing the really lack is longevity. 2 shaves maximum, but what the hell they're almost the cheapest ones out there.

    I use these blades with my safety razor. It's pretty good blades for the price, just cutting down my costs to my shaving routine.

    If those plastic blade carriers are the same as those used in the UK, you shouldn't need to open the door. On the opposite end of the carrier from the door there should be two narrow slots. Use your thumb to slide the top blade out through one of the slots. Insert the used blades into the other slot. The carrier serves as a safe disposal blade bank.
    I don't know which Dorco blades I'm using, I'm on the last one, but in my mild razor it's like shaving with a butter knife. Endless touch-ups to do!

    man I am surprised at the number of people who don't know how to open this packaging properly even professional sells men who have shops don't know bro the cardboard was put there for a reason its not advertising only you push slightly downward and outward towards the plastic slit and it opens the door if it was only advertising they would stick it to the pack which would be cheaper.

    These blades can be found in the EU under the "COSMIA MEN" brand in Auchan hypermarkets. The packaging says they are made in Vietnam. The individual blade packaging says "DORCO Stainelss ST-301 Since 1955". They are just a tad more expensive than BIC Astor DE blades

    I don't mind the DORCO, especially in the seriously aggressive razors i've collected. The ST300 are the same as the 301 but no hard case and a tad cheaper too. DORCO are a huge Korean shaver company in ASIA too!

    For me the extra savings compared to an Astra, Personna, or Feather is not worth having to go over the same parts of my face more times, because that's when my skin gets irritated and I get impatient and careless. Even the most expensive DE blades are a way better deal than the cartridges and disposables I used before.

    I wonder why most people shave when they get out of the shower. I have a beard, but shave my head bald. I can't imagine getting out the shower just to wet my head again to shave and then rinsing it off. Shaving in the shower is much better and produces much better results.

    "it feels like a personna blue on its... 6th or 7th shave.." WHAT!?!?!?!
    you shave 6 or 7 times with one blade!?!?!?!
    you must have facial hair made of silk... I can barely get 2 shaves with these before the edge feels rough. Same goes for most brands! Thats just crazy. At your rate you could shave for the rest of your life for like 100 bucks lol.

    Hi Nick, is there any specific reason why you always squeeze out so much water of the brush, when anyway always end up adding more water to the brush to do the lather?

    • @camacho3391

    Hey nick, i have problems with my skin during shaving. It always feels really dry while shaving with any soap. For example, if i run my fingers over a spot i just shaved, it feels bone dry and not slick at all, despite the soap being a perfect consistency. Is there any soaps you could reccomend that are extra slick and provide more slickness than cushion and tons of moisturizing agents? Thanks

    • @tumdeax
      @tumdeax 8 років тому

      +jacob lahr Its not the soap, you need more water. I used to make nice lathers, but they were dry. Add water and feel the difference!

    • @Jacob-ry3lu
      @Jacob-ry3lu 8 років тому

      +Tumdéaux trust me, I've taken my soaps to just before dissapating levels. My soap:water ratio is perfect, it is my skin that feels really dry beneath the soap. Its like the soap sucks up the moisture from my face or something. When I see other people shave, I can see how slick their faces look after shaving, but my face always feels bone dry during a shave

    • @tumdeax
      @tumdeax 8 років тому +1

      jacob lahr Ok, use a preshave like Cremo. I add it on right before I shave.

    • @mrsrhardy
      @mrsrhardy 8 років тому

      +jacob lahr +water, if not in the lather then added with a hand to the face and between passes with a facewasher helps a lot! Also preshave, I use homemade with coconut and 5-15% grlyerine to stop it from going hard in the cooler months! This helps a lot! I also pritz some essencial oils over my face at the start (see my videos) and i get great consistant shaves (as long as i do all the aforementioned, when i skip, i suffer)

    My barber sells 10 of them for $9 . Omg . Can you believe it . And the merkur 10 blades is $11 . Wow . The Astra blades are $4 for 5 . . They just buy them on line cheap and then sell them in the shop . He gave me 20 free blades when I got my merkur 38 c there for $50 . So I can't complain to him now .

    You hated the exact same blade that's in different packaging. Just goes to show how subjective these reviews are. Dorcos have a goofy name, a crazy low price, and boring graphics, but they're perfectly good blades. Operator variable, not blade is the issue.
