In the final episode of City unbound we’d like to dive deeper into a previously untouched feature-Colonies.
In many ways, larger colonies are like cities themselves, with their own economy, logistics, and colonists. To establish a colony, you’ll have to relocate part of the population from the main city. While New London retains control-there are no independent delegates and votings in the colonies-each outpost requires careful management. If managed well, these colonies can become vital hubs, specializing in food production or oil extraction.

The issue I had with On The Edge DLC for the fist game was that I needed more of it. Resource juggling was a ton of fun and held back by the scope of running a small logistics hub. Really glad to see the concept expanded on.
Also, best of luck to the team on the this last push.
I can see the mods that bring steampunk warfare coming from a mile away.

@@stickmanprime7865 but then it would lose the point. Like instead of being a city building game it becomes a grand strategy game instead.
It would be really cool if there was the option to make colonies self-sustainable but which means if your main city fails your colony will become the new city. But theres a catch if you dont keep the colony happy theres a risk they seperate from your city and become independent making trades more difficult or impossible which also means you have wasted a lot of resources building the colony. Would be kinda cool having to weigh the benefits and drawbacks of making a colony self-sustainable or not like that, instead of just not having the option. Colonies are still great though, it's what i allways wished for. Now i just need trains to connect them with each other.

This seems like something a DLC would do. If not someone wanting to mod the game that is. I mean. if colonists are upset, them rioting is the fecal point of becoming independent until you meet their demands. The overall issue here though with them becoming independent states of course is the fact that your city is where they get the rest of their resources from. Based on the length of the game. I assume that A DLC will come out that either puts you up against a rival leader in trying to manage the city while also trying to keep public opinion from getting you voted out of office. Or, dealing with the risks of a power hungry dictator that wishes to distill issues within the city to try and seize power, either through sabotage and mud slinging, or quite literally taking hold of a colony and trying to choke you out from the outside in. Either way. Colonies gaining independence and trying to sway their own will seems like something that would definitely be very very late game.

@@Ironclad_Liver It would be quite a heavy thing to make out of a mod concidering the game itself. A DLC of some kind would likely come out long before a mod would be released. so we shall see.
It’s really nice to know that the guys at 11 Bit Studios have listened to what we wanted, no BS, no trying to pander to people, you can see that this is a project that has a lot of love, passion and hard work put into it.
From these small videos, I believe that FP2 is going to be another big hit.

I have to say this. If the game runs smoothly during launch, you guys have done a fantastic job working on this game. I've had so much fun playing frostpunk 1. I love how this is a genuine sequel to the franchise and how much content is available to play. I can assure you I will have at least 100 hours 1 month after launch.

I'm somewhat conflicted, on one hand I'm sad this is the last episode of city unbound because it was super fun and informative to watch, but on the other I'm really happy about it because it means we are really close to the release of the game.

It makes sense that different cities would have different social pressures, with population of city X trending more towards one faction due to external factors, and the population of city Z trending towards supporting an another faction.
I really hope that, from the political standpoint, cities will not all be exactly the same.

Лично я много жду от второй части: начиная от новых механик, и заканчивая возможностью создавать и добавлять моды в игру. Думаю у "Frostpunk 2" огромный потенциал.

nice, was hoping to get more details and maybe build the vehicles like the dreadnaught or snowcat
Im still adjusting to the new futures, at the beggining they seem hard and confusing but after some time you get to anjoy every single thing about it.
I kept undecided all these years which one of TWoM or FP was the best, most intense and emocional game I've played. May be both of them.
I'm sure of just one thing, Frostpunk 2 is gonna be another game competing on my list of masterpieces. Can't wait for the game, thank you 11 Bit Studios!

Back in 2019. I thought that this game could go bigger with the city survival system and trade and so on. And we'll you guys did it. Including everything that could make the game more fluid and challenging. You implemented trade ways in one then went Big in two.
Could the colonies rebel just like Outpost 11?

Okay okay, I was worried a bit about the scale of this sequel, that it would be too small with just one storyline (I don't know if that's gonna be the case, but we've only seen stuff about New London so far). But now I think I'll be stuck in the same playthrough forever 🤣

Would love to see a DLC where same as TLA you get back in time for a while and handle pre-great-cold issues. Like maybe even have like a London minimap and politically drive the city to the decision to start building generators.
I was never into this game .but im now interested in Frost punk 2. the graphics look good. Like the snow cold setting etc.

Maybe they don't read this or don't give it importance, but it would be nice if there was a kind of event where (if I treat one or more Colonies it's not fair) one or more Colonies declare themselves Independent (something like New Kingstone in The Edge DLC ) and that you can trade with them, make alliances, annex them in a peaceful way or that you declare war on them or that these former Colonies re-declare it on you

The Cities must not fall indeed. Was kinda annoyed about the 2 month delay, but if the music is this good and the gameplay is that clean totally worth it

I hope you learned from FP1. FP1 scenarios were easy and very streamlined.
are you forgetting about fall of Winterheim?
“Easy” only with tons of hours and practise and a deep understanding of the mechanics. I’ve only recently beaten ANH on Extreme, and only barely pulled through with the Refugees on Hard, and haven’t gotten the Full Dreadnought on Fall of Winterhome even in normal difficulty!
None of the scenarios were easy, I do agree on linearity.

Guys, the only thing i wish to make field kitchens behaving as actual kitchens and make the temperature level 4 in the original game. I swear, since the launch of original game i wished this building became useful somehow.

I will repeat again that part of why I liked your old game so much was because each citizen had their own life, a person would go to get their prosthesys or to eat or to get healed. I don't see that here so I am a bit disappointed.
Please let me send all people having a specific ethic to those colonies. Let make me australia again.

Will there be an open world DLC? I really like to just have a huge map to build on. Making highways and railroads between cities and their logistics.
