Just to tell you I have already finished this mission on survivor mode (and got all teh achievements for this mission) and I wish to worn you of a few things. (I will keep spoilers to a minimum and mostly focus on the early game where you stabilise the city as that is the hardest part) Firstly, remember that you said in the beginning that those 12 children you were not allowed to employ were too young. They are in fact not too young, they are an additional 12 amputees. This is important to know for an achievement where you must save all children, it is also important for an event that will cause guaranteed unrest if you promise to save all the children. You can't save amputees without first providing prosthetics. The game doesn't tell you this until it is far too late. This event can cause you to loose the mission if you fail it at the wrong time. (also among the amputees are 3 engineers you may need these guys) secondly, 7:11 you have to pick one of the two and Hope is still the best. the House of prayer and cathedral(if that was the name of the building) don't take people to function and thus don't need to be heated. The house of healing is also a must have, maybe not on normal difficulty yet, you need your engineers for other stuff later. If you don't you will need to keep your engeneers working in medical facilities instead of doing research and other stuff in the late game. (they are also better for hope and you need that more than lowering discontent)(there are also a few really good places for houses of prayer already in the city) (it is also not unique to the scenario the third one also has it) thirdly, 8:20 I have found out that you actually need the hothouse on survivor mode, food is rather hard to come by with so many people in the city. you don't need it on normal though. hunters huts are enough for most of the game. unless you want the achievement for saving everyone, but I don't advise going for that achievement on your first run. Fourthly, 9:30 not really important for this scenario specifically but both faith and order have a building that improves efficiency of surrounding buildings. It is often best to put all medical posts close together for maximum healing without needing to built a ton of the efficiency buildings. fifthly, 11:15 gathering posts are indeed better. not because they are faster specifically, but because they keep the cold out and that keeps you from developing a situation where you just can't heal people fast enough and people start dying. In all honesty you should have built more of them instead of more medical posts. you would get the wood that day for the new medical posts either way. it isn't a big deal though. sixthly, 12:01 it doesn't matter how close you are to the source of the nearest heater. everything in range is just as warm. It doesn't really make that much sense but that is just how it is. also there is a thermostat on every building and place where you can assign people. Hover over it and you can see if they can become sick. I also do not know what the chances are of kids getting hurt on dangerous jobs... as far as I have seen it is negligible. but usually I just dump them all on either gathering duty and then preferable in gathering posts so what do i know. Gathering is never considered dangerous though. seventhly, 14:00 don't worry about storage just yet, one for coal is all you need. (also you are completely right regarding the medical situation on survivor you end up with 200 sick people night 2) eighthly, after you have the medical situation under control coal is next then you will have a bit of a food problem. There is a lot of it in the frostland though, it is to the south and you will need it or people will die. (: ninthly, 15:11 great job remembering the snow pit. 16:20 same for the houses you indeed do not have the resources for them. build them and people will die. you will know why later. Same goes for building more workshops, they have priority over homes though. (also there was no space because you used it all for medical posts. lovely scenario ain't it.) tenthly, 20:55 I only just noticed you used engineers for gathering. that is ill advised. They can get sick and die. they are rather irreplaceable. eleventhly, you never used the pie chart button next to the laws button. It shows you detailed information about your city. like how much coal you use and produce and how much food you make and use. It is really useful lastly, that was just about everything and I hope you see this Pravuss as it took rather long to make and most importantly I hope it helps you not get everyone in the city killed. It's the hardest scenario yet and you haven't done the rest yet. You are honestly not prepared. I will also not do this again. (i say knowing full well i will do this again)
And that isn't even everything you need to know if you want to take on survivor mode. though by now I could detail every action you would need to take on each day to optimise your actions to the maximum possible efficiency. (I had to redo the mission at least 14 times just to get passed the first section on survivor. it is really rough. at least 4 times was me having 49% hope when I needed 50%. so one person too many died for me to win. That really sucked. Though even on lower difficulties hope can cost you the entire mission by day 15. Excluding easy.) also yes it is ridiculously long. But I had fun writing what amounts to a twelve point essay on frost punk strategy
The Boer Wars were a series of conflicts in South Africa between the British Empire and the original Dutch Speaking Settlers and their descendents from the old colonies.
There should be an option to change the temperature to Kelvin. That way when people ask how cold is it you could tell them oh it’s 237 Kelvin. Which will make them think it’s warmer than it really is.
That's kind of the point of the Kelvin scale; 0 degrees Kelvin is absolute zero, where each element gets solid. So, 237 degrees Kelvin would kinda kill everyone who got in contact with it.
Watching you play Frostpunk on a day off makes it feel like a true day off. Keep them coming!!! And congrats on your channel, so happy it became a success and is still growing 👍🏾
i know this sounds counterintuitive, but going for the factory early for those automatons is going to be very valuable for steel down the road. also, a single automaton operated industrial hothouse can produce 149 raw food per-day feeding half of the population something that will be important down the road as well.
Your first Frostpunk-series inspired me to write a RPG survival-campaign on my own. (However it graduated from a carbon copy of the game to a stranded-on-an-island scenario in an steampunk/dieselpunk kind of alternate history) But I still want to thank you for your impressive style of story-telling :D On a side-note: Interesting that the word 'Generator' is capitalised in the introduction. Way to show of how much importance that thing is :D

This city still gives me nightmares. The layout alone is absolutely horrendous and a pain in the ass to work around, and you don't have the time to spare to spend getting things super efficient so you just have to try and work around what you have. That being said, once you get past the first stage of the game and you aren't in the risk of being kicked out, you can actually put some time and resources into making a more efficient city
2 attempts on easy mode i failed. i was doing good 2nd go till i ran out of coal somehow. not exactly sure how i know i lost some workers i ddint catch..... def hurt but still. so i am here to learn something. i do also know i need to do as mentioned 11:30 gather huts more. to many get sick- die from cold. i new to the game and learning all these things as i go.

I'm taking a stab at survivor mode myself. Thank you for the experience!
Yes! Return of Frostpunk! Anticipating what you do with the series!
Frostpunk was one of the best series that you have played, excited to see you play it again.
I'm playing Frostpunk OST's in the background, somehow makes the experience ever more amazing. Keep up the constant amazing work.
Frostpunk is back and I´m super happy about it.
Me too, love this game

...You mean 0 Kelvin, right? -237 degrees Celsius?
@@blueshell292 237 is still pretty darn cold, though. With 0 or even -0.15, atoms would literally freeze in place, which is bad.
That's kind of the point of the Kelvin scale; 0 degrees Kelvin is absolute zero, where each element gets solid.
So, 237 degrees Kelvin would kinda kill everyone who got in contact with it.
That should be a game mechanic
Blue Shell 237 kelvin is -36 Celsius, very much survivable with warm clothing
Oh dear, the tragic tale of Winterhome is at last revealed! It'll be brutal, no doubt about it. But I trust our leader, Pravus. Lead us well, sir!

Glad a series of this game is back!!!!
Oh boy, you're back on this, let's get this started. Time to once again deal with the deep freeze, and all things associated with it. I'm excited.
