Apple: That's normal. You're supposed to replace it every certain amount of time. It's due to the fact that we are using high-tech camera that it affects the glass outside. It is because of the camera outside that you're able to enjoy the best transparency mode of all time.

It’s only a matter of time before they make the “Apple vision” without the pro and price it at around $1,500 considering it’s a MacBook Air on your face I can’t see it ever costing less than an iPhone.
I doubt it will be as low as $1500, but I completely agree. I also think the upgrade cycle will be every couple of years like the iMac line as opposed to an annual iPhone refresh cycle @@0x0SHADOWHUNTER0x0
This is my pet peeve with Apple reviews. What other product would you go into thinking, I’m gonna make a video of why I hate it. Before even trying it! Good on you for being honest, enjoyed the review otherwise.
Good question, though imma say Apple made it so if the cameras can’t display the environment even if the headset itself will track it likely won’t let you do things
The accessibility menu has sound shortcuts, so you can make a T-sound, for example, and bring up your apps. Also this isn’t a M2 Mac it’s an M2 iPad. So the apps are unfortunately limited, hopefully they change this in the future. Despite it’s limitations, I’m amazed every time I use mine. The immersion is astounding and I’m constantly forgetting I’m looking at a screen and don’t have headphones on.
this would probably be impossible but if apple created a virtual phones, watches, and computer for the apple vision I think people would want to spend 3k easily on it
Its value is if your in the Apple ecosystem and see the device as a way to anchor all the other devices into a spatial realism that includes Virtual R, AugmentedR, Mixed R, and Extended R.
im very convinced by the vision but for me the biggest fear is that Apple will handle it like the iPad. not giving it enough freedom to get the most out of the hardware. getting real desktop apps, getting support for more input devices, getting a real file explorer and not taking games serious enough. and the worst fear, slow updates to the software. basically not building on the potential this device has. if apple really wants this to be a full fledge computing device i think it will at some point also need the ability to sideload apps. i truely believe that its capable of one day replacing your MacBook but that cant happen if apple limits this artificially
Plz software updates, bring shared environments for multiple vision pro users to share experiences, bring native video editing and coding IDEs, and bring native access to PCVR or whatever it is that gives you access to VR games (with VR controller accessories), and bring more environments and allow developers to create their own OS level environments. Oh and bring mobile support so I can take phone calls and use mobile data. And last thing, release better batteries that last at least 4.5 hours. Give me all of these features and forget about the $3'500 price tag, I'd pay $5'000 or more.
I got tired of listening to all the criticisms that mostly can be fixed with future software updates. I know you have to make money on your channel, but enough is enough.
I think you don't have the right size facial interface. I went to the apple store yesterday and got a demo, and the fov was good. When the lenses automatically adjusted for my ipd, I could feel them brushing against my eyebrow hairs. They were pretty close to my eyes. Try testing it by removing the face cushion and seeing if the fov is better. I would go back to the apple store and see if they would swap out the interface for free. The fov for me was almost as big as quest 3 and similar shape... wider than it is tall, but not a small vertical fov letterboxed like the Vive Pro 2.
It would be funny if the displays were as bright as real life on a sunny day, and then you couldn't use your apps because of glare! Just like your phone / laptop are almost unusable in the sun! I do wonder how hot the aluminium might get in the summer if you are using the pro outside!
Between you and Bradly I’m clenching fists cause it’s as flossy would say TDH (too damn high) but I know I’m gonna save and get one. The low light issue is a bit concerning though as I tend to spend a decent amount of time in low lit environments.
I feel like Apple could bake in a simple solution for telling the time. Like you showed earlier in the video, it tracks your hands\arms and even knows you have a watch on your wrist. Watch or no watch, if you raise your wrist to point to the screen, just overlay the time.
I tried a quest 3 and was pretty disappointed about how it perform on the "spatial computer" side, the quality of the screen or camera was just not good enough to make it usable imo. Considering how enthusiastic the review are It's sound like Vision Pro is way ahead on that point and can be usable, I hope I could try it one day (I'm in Europe so ...), but I'm not going to buy one anywhere soon, not that the price is a deal breaker to me (a MacBook Pro can cost around the same) , but I don't want to take the risk to buy that kind of "prototype" only for apple to give up a few years later and made that Vision Pro eventually useless, it need to have at least 3 iteration to convinced me it's strong and viable product.
I fully came into this video thinking that you turned into an Apple fanboy, but, I am surprised how you laid the points, dude. Damn, man. This makes me wanna try AVP, despite me not liking Apple as I used to earlier. But still, despite an external battery, why is the battery so short? Why? Apple could have easily made a bigger battery pack for this thing, I mean, that alone is a huge dealbreaker for me. Despite how marvelous this thing is, it’s still not worth $3500, and if I was in place of Tim Cook, I would have made this thing cheaper, for an average consumer to try it, as it would drive my sales at the end of the day.
Great review Brett! Thank you for taking the time. You mentioned SteamVR, looks like Thrill Seeker successfully has it working. I’m excited to see how that pans out. If we could play Steam VR games and also general Windows compatibility, game over.
I forget what review VID I saw exploring that, but you have to be in pretty much the same virtual space as the user for that to happen. (like right under their chin).
I'm definitely excited for the improvements Apple brings to the UI/UX and pushing the display, passthrough and compute power of standalone. Can't imagine I'd ever buy one though, even at half the price. Tthe "walled garden" approach, and lack of flexibility or user customisation in Apple products, kills the basis of my enthusiasm for tech.
MR is only useful if you’re rich and have a multi million mansion that you can enjoy seeing through and running around excited using cameras. Poor people like me don’t want to stare at their bed, chair and table all day.
Facts the best I can think to use this is going outside but then I have to look at my neighborhood lmao. I still think the tech is amazing if it were the price of a phone or even just a little bit higher then it’d be worth it like $999 - $1500. At most
that's why it costs so much :P ....but it can do fully immersive vr scenes too ...u don't have to look at your wall if your desk is next to a wall ....and people are working hard on steamvr and using it with index controllers ....but yeah too much money for the vast majority of people
I think it’s the opposite when it gets cheaper, you can be transported if you’re in a tiny cooped up apartment and feel like you’re working or studying somewhere else for a moment. When it’s cheaper.
Nice video but I totally disagree with you about "Eyesight". It makes sense for the displayed eyes to look "virtual" simply because it is indicating the user is IN mixed reality. I hope Apple ignores these comments and doesn't remove this cool feature because of them. Instead, people who don't like it should just turn it off - which I think is currently possible in "Settings" - and let those of us who think it's useful to continue to use it. Apple obviously realizes the actual functionality of needs to be improved and they've already done that in V1.1 which you didn't mention and will probably continue to be improved. But come on dude, the thing's been out a whole week.
this makes no sense unless you utilize multiple screens and since you can create multiple screens on a desktop even on phones it really starts to make less and less sense. this technology would make more sense if it could work without a headset or glasses
Bro how you doing is praising Apple I get it you're an Apple's ecosystem all I hear is just praise for Apple meanwhile they can't repair good they're not very customizable also when you have like USBC Chargers or something not Apple charger they make it where your speeds are slower on charging speed and I have a Apple tablet and I think it's garbage the battery sucks at lags the App Store is absolutely atrocious like come on the dawn company sucks my Apple tablet has a cracked screen and be just as costs as the darn tablet itself
Train? Subway? that seems one of the best "productivity" uses. I'm still struggling to believe this will be more than a toy (not the concept, but this version of the tech). But if someone was to use it for starting work while commuting on a train, that could be reasonable. -bZj
Still not into any version of VR on any device at any capacity. Tried it a few times and nope, still not good enough for the price or any use case that I would be using it for. Not Elon's but I can already imagine when putting computers into our brain would be a normal, expensive but normal every day thing. Then combine it with VR/AR, being able to play games or work like in the anime lol
This is one of the fairest takes I've seen on Vision Pro. I am keeping my Vision Pro and yes, the fact that I have to use a straw to drink when using Vision Pro is one of the minor inconveniences. Thank you for your insights!
It shouldn't suffer from burn in because it shouldn't have static objects in the same spot of the screen for long periods (like a fox news icon or the nav buttons on insta). The brightness seemed ok to me but not super bright (around the Q3 brightness maybe). Definitely didn't seem as bright as the PSVR2.
This is the weirdest review I have every heard. It's like he points out flaws then says how good it is with those flawed features. It's really confusing so is this a half baked product. I mean you can run ms office on Quest, pass through is crap on Quest 3 but you can read your phone, and all you really need is enough to interact with the world. So at the moment it seems like it's only software differences at this point. Quest has hand tracking but no one uses it because it's not interactive enough. If you want to run heavy desktop apps on Quest you just stream a desktop PC. The worst thing for Quest 3 is battery life but there are options now to extend battery life endlessly. Most people like halo style head bands removes pressure from the face so I would assume aftermarket head strap is needed for Vision just like Quest. So what's does the Vision Pro do that the Quest 3 doesn't. Quest 3 has pinned apps and now occlusion for keyboard support. People hated the Quest 3 for its low light performance but like the Vision even though it suffers the same issue. They hated the Quest 3 for its low FOV. But like the the vision which has last generation FOV. No one has reviewed the lenses yet or pixel peaked these things, my bet is the Quest 3 as seen through lenses will be just as sharp as the Vision. But all reviews of the Vision seem like they are scripted to hide obvious flaws. I will wait until I see some detailed reviews comparing the Quest 3 with the Vision especially though lens, low light, edge to edge distortion, high speed hand tracking, depth detection, brightness. These things make or break immersion but everyone seems focused on pinned apps. Can the Vision even game in full immersion?
Also, I tried waving my hand back and forth in AVP and also in Quest 3 after I got home, and the difference in latency and judder was huge. In AVP I could track my hand with my eyes and it looked smooth. In Quest 3 it looked like there were 3 separate hands that juddered and flickered as I move it and it also makes distortions in the room geometry whenever you bring your hand or phone up in front of you. AVP doesn't have those.
One question .... quest had pinch to select over 3 years ago ... did they remove it in the quest 3 ... multiple people talk about pinching your apps and my quest 2 has this ... Are people just using controllers with quest 3 without even thinking about hand tracking ?
I think part of it is how good it is on the VP according to people... I don't know about the Quest 3 but my Quest 2 has hand tracking, and it is barely usable. You have to hold your hand pretty much in front of your face, and it never really feels that accurate. Also could be because Vision Pro has the ability to just look at something and pinch to select.
Its not as good, AVP got 12 cameras, lidar, depth sensor, dedicated R1 chip n what not to make it work as good it does but for certain things ie gaming dedicated controllers are better.
@jojo_da_poe Well, I would assume a 7 times the price of the quest would get you a better experience overall. 😅 The issue is for the price quest 3 should not even try to compete in any category, yet it's better at something already. People just act like it's a new feature but it's just a better version of it. Also quest 2 got the 120hz and hand tracking for free after all. It wasn't something promised at launch. Hand tracking is good for a quick browse or watching video. Also a lot of people talk about straps and quest has multiple better versions of a strap for 50-150$. So for 3500 the VP band should be the best there is and you should not buy a 3rd party one ....
I did the demo in the apple store yesterday and then used the Quest 3 with hand tracking for several hours last night. The Quest hand tracking works... sorta. I had multiple issues constantly and, at one point, failed to select an object 4 times before successfully clicking it. Could I hold my arm out more steady and do a balancing act to try to coax it to comply with my intent? Sure. The Apple Vision Pro demo went smoothly, and I didn't ever really think about the control scheme. You shouldn't notice it if it's working well... I noticed it a lot in the Quest 3.
You must really hate Apple man. This thing is just better at vr and mr than any other headset on the market it’s expensive but that doesn’t mean it’s overpriced. The meta quest pro is over $1000 and it’s not even close.
I'm currently boycotting things that I can't afford.

Apple: That's normal. You're supposed to replace it every certain amount of time. It's due to the fact that we are using high-tech camera that it affects the glass outside. It is because of the camera outside that you're able to enjoy the best transparency mode of all time.
7 times better? that's the question, $4000 vs $500, passhru ? screens? sorry, I don't think so.
It looks great, but I just can't get used to seeing the Apple Vision Pro's price. Every time I see $3500, I feel a mixture of bewilderment and disgust.
It’s only a matter of time before they make the “Apple vision” without the pro and price it at around $1,500 considering it’s a MacBook Air on your face I can’t see it ever costing less than an iPhone.
I doubt it will be as low as $1500, but I completely agree. I also think the upgrade cycle will be every couple of years like the iMac line as opposed to an annual iPhone refresh cycle

I wonder if putting an IR light in the bedroom that you can turn on would be enough to keep the tracking working.
just got subscribed 🌚
i want to see your content about the vision pro only
This is my pet peeve with Apple reviews.
What other product would you go into thinking, I’m gonna make a video of why I hate it. Before even trying it!
Good on you for being honest, enjoyed the review otherwise.
I mean the phone could unlock by watch proximity ...but yeah not optimal
Is it possible to use a giant infra red light bulb to illuminate the room for tracking at night?
Good question, though imma say Apple made it so if the cameras can’t display the environment even if the headset itself will track it likely won’t let you do things
I use a small IR light to use Q3 in the dark. Works pretty good.
The immersion is astounding and I’m constantly forgetting I’m looking at a screen and don’t have headphones on.
this would probably be impossible but if apple created a virtual phones, watches, and computer for the apple vision I think people would want to spend 3k easily on it
Fantastic insights and review. Coming with your experience with VR this was chockfull of wisdom.
Its value is if your in the Apple ecosystem and see the device as a way to anchor all the other devices into a spatial realism that includes Virtual R, AugmentedR, Mixed R, and Extended R.
Hey Brett, you should get the steam vr setup and give ya your opinions on it.
Well said with great examples. They should pay you for such great feedback.
I know train travel isn’t as big a thing in the us vs Europe, but I wonder how well travel mode works on a train.
im very convinced by the vision but for me the biggest fear is that Apple will handle it like the iPad. not giving it enough freedom to get the most out of the hardware. getting real desktop apps, getting support for more input devices, getting a real file explorer and not taking games serious enough. and the worst fear, slow updates to the software. basically not building on the potential this device has.
if apple really wants this to be a full fledge computing device i think it will at some point also need the ability to sideload apps. i truely believe that its capable of one day replacing your MacBook but that cant happen if apple limits this artificially
FYI it is now banned at Disney parks
The outer glass needs to be a bright matte led screen, would look a lot better
I know you have to make money on your channel, but enough is enough.
yeah my pops says this fella is reaching on a few of these
I think you don't have the right size facial interface.
For $3500, shouldn't it have a bigger FOV than the Quest 3?
It would be funny if the displays were as bright as real life on a sunny day, and then you couldn't use your apps because of glare! Just like your phone / laptop are almost unusable in the sun!
I do wonder how hot the aluminium might get in the summer if you are using the pro outside!
Between you and Bradly I’m clenching fists cause it’s as flossy would say TDH (too damn high) but I know I’m gonna save and get one. The low light issue is a bit concerning though as I tend to spend a decent amount of time in low lit environments.
"Too gat dam high."
I feel like Apple could bake in a simple solution for telling the time. Like you showed earlier in the video, it tracks your hands\arms and even knows you have a watch on your wrist.
Watch or no watch, if you raise your wrist to point to the screen, just overlay the time.
Also, something something apple shill.
Am I doing comments right?
brett love your work
I tried a quest 3 and was pretty disappointed about how it perform on the "spatial computer" side, the quality of the screen or camera was just not good enough to make it usable imo.
Oh, Alien vs Predator on VR should be fun 😂
Great review Brett! Thank you for taking the time. You mentioned SteamVR, looks like Thrill Seeker successfully has it working. I’m excited to see how that pans out. If we could play Steam VR games and also general Windows compatibility, game over.
How are you going to do that with no controllers?
Forget about other fingers, index + middle fingers tapping thumb together should be a thing for sure
I forget what review VID I saw exploring that, but you have to be in pretty much the same virtual space as the user for that to happen. (like right under their chin).
So... you need to drink your beer through a straw when using this thing? Lovely!
At most
that's why it costs so much :P
....but it can do fully immersive vr scenes too ...u don't have to look at your wall if your desk is next to a wall ....and people are working hard on steamvr and using it with index controllers ....but yeah too much money for the vast majority of people
You need to own a mansion to buy a $3500 tv? $3500 computer?
What?!?
I think it’s the opposite when it gets cheaper, you can be transported if you’re in a tiny cooped up apartment and feel like you’re working or studying somewhere else for a moment. When it’s cheaper.
I’m not rich and I brought one. Don’t regret it one bit.
ProZD should be full screen all the time
Love the ProZD cameos
I’m a musician and being able to use AR to learn some piano song sounds really cool
You can do that in Quest 3.
Just get yourself an IR light to use it in the dark. Works for the Quest 2, so I'm sure it'll work for the AVP 👍
Are you gonna to do a review, on the second generation off the Samsung ark? It would be interesting😊
Great review! Thanks 🙏🏽
Great video, Brett. I get it. I want one...
When did $3500 mean so much? My monitor is more than that. 🤦🏽♂️
it meant that much when we realized inflation isn’t just putting air into a vessel.
A lot of these issues have been addressed in the latest beta updates.
Dystopian hellscape.
Underrated i hope you make it as a UA-camr (if you want)
Nah rather not pay 3k for a iphone on my face.
Bruh, I've watched this 56 times now (0:20)
😂
W review!
The pricing is similar to the HoloLens
Or the Varjo XR4.
How did you get the X app? didn’t think that was available?…. i keep seeing that you need to use .. a 3rd party app?
There are apps for time and date and all that. Not a deal breaker
this makes no sense unless you utilize multiple screens and since you can create multiple screens on a desktop even on phones it really starts to make less and less sense. this technology would make more sense if it could work without a headset or glasses
Apple Vis make your eyes strong 😅
Bro how you doing is praising Apple I get it you're an Apple's ecosystem all I hear is just praise for Apple meanwhile they can't repair good they're not very customizable also when you have like USBC Chargers or something not Apple charger they make it where your speeds are slower on charging speed and I have a Apple tablet and I think it's garbage the battery sucks at lags the App Store is absolutely atrocious like come on the dawn company sucks my Apple tablet has a cracked screen and be just as costs as the darn tablet itself
If they weren't giga expensive I'd pick one up
What camera is being used. I wanna try this with my Bandit
Man, dystopian movies are so unrealistic. I mean, no one in real life would willfully sleepwalk right into one, right?
The irony of all these channels putting out content about AVP on UA-cam yet UA-cam won’t put their app on the AVP. glad I didn’t waste my $4000.
Train? Subway? that seems one of the best "productivity" uses.
I saw a lot of info on the vision pro, but no one spoke about fog in the lenses. Is there any?
yes... if you sweat a lot. a crazy guy used it to play sports, and it started to be fogy.
Can you use apple vision pass thru camera to zoom into small stuffs like electronic components that are small?
I saw a video about this and the answer is no.
It's Crapple, Brett. Send it back.
"Hopefully Apple will fix-"
Apple does not fix. Apple will do no such thing without $250 up-front and will still do nothing.
Did you do use the persona yet?
People gotta stop glazing the Apple Vision Pro
This is one of the fairest takes I've seen on Vision Pro. I am keeping my Vision Pro and yes, the fact that I have to use a straw to drink when using Vision Pro is one of the minor inconveniences. Thank you for your insights!
Can I play beatsaber on that thing or not?
no. the Vision pro doesn't play actual VR games... lol you would think being a vr headset at 4000
@@netrodex Darn, guess I'll stick with my VR headset that can do actual VR stuff 😿
@8:48 'I have to type in my passcode which is arduous' = first world problems.
Since it uses an oled display so how is burn in and brightness ?
Just curious have you tried the psvr2 yet?
The hand tracking in the VP is like magic and a lot reviews have said it's less cumbersome than the Quest 3.
I noticed it a lot in the Quest 3.
that's a lot of money for a bunch of jank.sad Ware is the apple standard, it's not here
3500 though 💔
luckily my pops bought a pair. It was crazy watching him and his wife watch a movie in the dark infront of the tv with the tv off😝
"Game" in bed is what I call it also.
Bret don lie im sure you already returned it...
i regret about it for you! =D
U can own a Bentley, or u can buy a Toyota Corolla. U decide. 👀
Sounds like MS HoloLens
All the haters in the comments cant stand that you're enjoying the product. Hilarious.
Apple could drop a pile of dog feces but as long as it has their logo on it people will buy it🤦🏾♂️
You must really hate Apple man. This thing is just better at vr and mr than any other headset on the market it’s expensive but that doesn’t mean it’s overpriced. The meta quest pro is over $1000 and it’s not even close.
