❤Ocean Boulevard!!Fantastic! During the 80's I lived at 4200 South Ocean Blvd. Drive to my work at Worth Avenue was every morning a dream. So beautiful. ❤What beautiful memories! ❤love from Finland
Whitehall is gorgeous! I would love to drive down Billionaires Row and look at the homes, if they could be seen. Thank you for this episode, Ken. Very interesting.
@@Stoneface_ If you are referring to Whitehall: walking up to those enormous marble urns with the 10' front door behind them. They tend to dwarf people. Also, that color is dazzling in the Florida sun.
My favorite will always be Marble Hall. I did not know Henry Flagler died from falling down that majestad stairway. I have been there 5 x. My grandparents lived in West Palm not far from the intercostal waterway.
Flagler’s grandaughter was a leading force in having White Hall preserved as a house museum. I loved seeing Consuelo Balsan’s Florida home. I believe she had this while she kept a home in New York City as well. Of the houses shown, Consuelo’s is my favorite. Thanks Ken for another wonderful episode!
As a kid I regularly played tennis in Manalapan at Consuela's estate. It had been converted into a club by the Benjamin family and hokes were built on the grounds.
The beaches on Palm Beach are beautiful for sure. And the town must allow them to remain open to the public. However, there are no facilities whatsoever. Parking is hard to find and incredibly expensive. There are no restrooms, or vendors near the beach. Nothing to eat. But it is perfect for us, as we live close enough to ride our bikes to the beach.

You forgot to mention the Phipps family and their history in Plam Beach.
I love grand mansions, but I would not enjoy living in one. Nice to visit and worth preserving, but not as homes for individuals. Thank you for the video!
In town, the stretch of oceanfront property south of Southern Blvd is what is referred to as Billionaire’s Row. North of Southern is called the Estate Section”. Mrs Post might be happy to know that the circus 🤡 still comes to M-A-L.
Trumps Post estate is probably the most valuable home in America, and to think that Lunatic joke of prosecutor from NYC had it valued at only 4 million. Some people are truly deranged. The land alone is worth more than a Billion. The house is gorgeous and a Triumph of Architecture. Thank you President Trump and family for lovingly restoring and taking care of it.
I am copying my statement from above. So many misconceptions about this property. Some of them from broker friends of Trump who will say anything he wants. You seem to be unaware of the fact that Trump struck a deal with the National Trust for Historic Preservation that permanently altered the saleability of the property. In exchange for tax benefits to Trump, the deed to the property was permanently changed so that it could only be used as a private/public recreational facility or "club" and never a private residence. Trump's family was not permitted to live there until he struck a deal with the Town where he swore he was only residing in the apartment of the live-in groundskeeper. His "residence" is an apartment. The entrance is next to the public rest rooms for the restaurant. The preoperty is commercially zone so the value is based on revenue of the restaurant. The other real residences on Billionaires' Row are own by real Billionaires with no such permanent restriction. Trump can't sell this property as a private mansion, only as a restaurant with tennis courts. So what's it worth. If you were a Billionaire what would you pay for a huge property with outrageously high upkeep, but you had to live in an apartment as a groundskeeper and strangers can swin in your pool and eat in the restaurant next to your bedroom? $18M may be too high.
Just like all his supporters, you don't know what you're talking about. Hewitt commented herein about all the reasons the property is not valuable on its own. It's not available to develop and is encumbered by numerous restrictions which contains its value. Why are you people always so ignorant of the facts and truth.....just like your a Mango Mussolini.
When Harry Thaw, the murderer of Stanford White, walked into Mar a Lago, he exclaimed “ My god! I shot the wrong architect!”. If this actually happened or not isn’t known, but it was the rumor at the time.
Most of these were built before the advent of residential air conditioning, so they'd likely sit unused for 8 months out of the year. Of course snow birds are very much still a thing, but 100 years ago it was a necessity rather than simply a luxury to summer in northern climes.
The Palm Beach County Tax Assessor and Donald Trump arrived at that value. The Judge had nothing to do with the valuation. Incidentally, Donald challenged the higher valuation, which explains the lower 18m valuation.

@@ConradNeill Your statement is correct, but doesn't look at the big picture. I live in Florida, and my house is worth 500k in the market. The tax assessment for that house is around 250k. That's just standard in Florida. So the value of Mar-a-lago is not what the tax assessment says, but what someone is willing to pay for it. The judge indeed lost their mind when trying to use the tax assessment as the value of the property.

I live just across the waterway in West Palm Beach from Palm Beach. Palm Beach is not for the super wealthy anymore.
