The first thing I did with my new laptop was take out the 128GB M.2 drive that was in S-mode and replace it with a 1TB M.2 and installed a fresh version of Windows 11. I also added a 1TB 2.5" SSD for storage, plus added 16GB of RAM. While it was open I replaced the stock thermal paste with Thermal Grizzly as well as cut a 1"X8" slot in the bottom of the case and taped a piece of mesh to provide more cooling. It works great, and boots to the OS in about 25 seconds.
I reccomend learning to tweak windows manually instead of using a script especially if you've never done it. 1) because it's a learning experience that will help the you become more familiar with your PC and with PC terminology's, 2) If you do it yourself it's easier to know how to undo it if you mess something up, 3) Because things that have been disabled manually tend to stay disabled!
Good advice.. Get rid of Norton / Mcafee first :) Using local account is good practice, also. On AMD, disable CPUMetrics .. On HPs, you can safely disable the services: HP Touchpoint Analytics, HP App Helper, HP Diagnostics, HP Network, HP System Info, and Sound Research SECOMN (Note: the Diagnostics and System Info services may be needed if you connect with HP for support)
A timely video Brian because I have just bought my grandson anew Asus Vivobook laptop. I see what you are doing but personally I would first remove the installed AV and install ESET as a priority. Then I would do the tidy up.
To be fair, transferring files is always weird and wonky, however I recommend making copies of the files you want to move, using a USB drive, putting the copies onto the drive's storage, then plugging the USB drive into whatever device you want (the new laptop) and then opening the USB storage file and then taking it out.
never had to do much with lenovo laptop tht i got in 2017 only installed what i needed only thats about it and also checked for updates also lenovo vantage very usefull
I have this question...my laptop I bought last year, I hooked up some Sony bluetooth speakers. They were working great for awhile, but all of a sudden, I can't hear them anymore nor connect them up wirelessly. Do you have any idea what's wrong with them?
Last year, we succesfully set up a Windows 11 laptop with an offline account..............until we wanted to download other browsers & drivers for our laser printers. Then it forced us to create a MS account. Tomorrow, we want to set up another Windows 11 laptop & need to know how to avoid the MS demand, when we want to download Vivaldi, or Brave, or our printer drivers. HELP?
I have an ASUS gaming laptop and the main problem is that I don't want install Armoury Crate & Aura Creator because it causes stuttering or choppy while playing games. However, even after updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers, it still doesn’t work.
Ooh, that kinda defeats the purpose of a gaming hub! I have an Asus ROG Phone 5s and Armoury Crate is wonderful because it allows over/under clocking of everything from the CPU to touch latency. It also controls the phone's RGB features - all in one app rather than hacking Android's Settings app.

This already has large nvme drive in it
You should have just bought a high specs computer that suits your needs or style. Less effort, same result

Sounds commendable, but confirms so much of computers is best left to the "experts", given their "user-unfriendliness". A pity.

What’s the best way to transfer files from the old laptop to the new? Using a USBC to USBC cable ? Do I need any special program?

I generally image the machine first and then do the same as you have done.

His diction is awful. How do (English-speaking) foreigners cope?
