Awesome pickups and awesome demo! I have one as a bridge pickup on my Kramer Vanguard. Sounds very nice on alder, and coil-splitting this pickup is one of the best things you can do. Very clear, yet it still retains that bite it has.
Sounds pretty cool! I love this track and was surprised at the awesome opening :) Someday when I have enough money, I wanna build a guitar like yours. It looks cool ;)
Are these pickups good for long holding out power chords to make the guitar roar and growl? or is this best for that bright, crisp Djenty sound? if not what do you suggest for my 7 string. I write music like yours in a way. I just like to hold out the low power chords kinda like korn used to do. I want that "somebody someone" korn song sound, but can also play fast technical, and melodic metal. some one give me some advice plz. I like EMG's and I checked out the 707's but I want to try something different.
Ben Mullins - I've only tried the sh8 so I can't really advice you on that one. I sent them an email explaining what I was after and they recommended me the SH8, so that's what I got :)
Hey great playing man I installed some SD pups into my dc727 as well. Would you ever consider making a video of your rig rundown. Like the monitors and recording software you use? I'd be ever so grateful lol
Thanks! I made a gear tour many years ago. It's pretty outdated now. I ahve a pretty simple setup now. Either Axe-Fx Ultra or POD HD Pro into a RME Fireface UC which is connected to my PC that runs REAPER (www.reaper.fm/). Monitors are KRK Rokit 6.
Michael, from where did you order your Carvins and how much, approx, did they go for? I live in Sweden, so should be something similar. Takk, og god video! =)
I've ordered all my Carvins directly from Carvin. I can provide you with the email to my guy if you're interested in getting one. Prices depend on the model and the specs you choose. Going with mostly default specs, around $1000. Takk takk :)
Can someone play some regular DEATHMETAL riffs as well not just pounding the low string over and over? Can we get a Schuldiner or Murphy type solo in here with these pickups as well?
Correct. The pickups are pretty cold and bright sounding, so I think they would fit nicely with the C7 and basswood body, even better than the guitar in this video :)
Michael Hebo ...a lot of people are saying they're dark, you say they are bright. How dark are they really and how hot? In comparison to lets say Lundgren, I think you had lundgren once.
I'd go with the '59 SH-1 for that. That's what I'm using in this video: ua-cam.com/video/TRmMhXNYQQI/v-deo.html The video is almost 10 years old, so not the best quality, but you get the idea.
***** Oh i heard its really epic, because they have triple ceramic magnets inside, you can rip out the two spacer magnets that arent needed, that turns the invade into the duncan distortion but with those huge pole pieces... basically makes it tighter, more clear and brighter... but still insanely thick sounding!
Dude, your playing is really good but with all the studio magic, backing tracks, and extra shit going on it's hard to hear what these pickups will do by themselves, with just a guitarist and his amp(a modest setup, not a Marshall half stack cranked on 10,but a nice guitar through a 2x12 combo (but something decent like a Marshall 2x12 combo,Line 6 Spider 2x12,hell even a crate 2x12 practice amp). I just feel there is too much added to the whole thing to give an honest representation of what these humbuckers sound like.
use your, gain and eq controls on your amp, its their for a reason, and if you dont like the pup why even comment? luckily for you there are many many different models of pick ups to choose from. the invader has been in production for 30 years so somewhere someone is liking it and buying it for them to keep on making these.
See! I knew it was possible to get a tight aggressive sound with this pup 🤘🏻
I just a Seymour Duncan Invader Bridge pick up for the Ibanez RG8. I got goosebumps after hearing how the pickups sound. Holy shit! Bad ass!
Awesome pickups and awesome demo!

Thanks for the awesome Invacer Demo, and Bad ass playing man.
Benjamin Sherman Invader*
Sick playing bro! Love the Carvin!
Awesome video and music! New approach is good too :D New vids from you - always a pleasure mate
Thanks pal :)
The articulation on the treble notes has me re-thinking the EMG - 81's !
What about the blackouts? I haven't tried them yet, but I think I will soon :D
Awesome as always, sir!
Thank you, sir! :)
Sounds pretty cool! I love this track and was surprised at the awesome opening :) Someday when I have enough money, I wanna build a guitar like yours. It looks cool ;)
Thanks :) You definitely should! ;)
Great job man!
Just noticed the 'Hebo' on your Guitar heads. Cool touch. :P
Sick tune as always. :)
Thanks man :)
awesome playin' got that In Flames vibe
Very, Very intense man!! Love it!!
Tnx!
New video! Demo of the new Invader SH-8 model from *****!
Dude that was quality. Incredible timing, great riffs and that tone rules.
Josh Steffen Thanks a lot man! :)
What Josh Steffen wrote ... And awesome video-editing too!
Have and love them. Good vid.
Cool guitar and good sounding pickups.
Thanks :)
Long time no see. We have missed you!
Aw, thanks :D
this carvin looks soooo awesome
It is ;)
Great tone and production. Sexy guitar and monster sounding pickups. Playing is pretty shit hot too. Great work.
Thank you for the kind feedback man :)
Awesome! I remember the guitar from the Tesseract cover.
Thanks. Yeah, but with other pickups ;)
Somehow invaders look like some parts from sports cars
Great song too!
i was the whole video waiting for a solo.
whoa sick dude!

Absolutely
Great video! I'm thinking of picking up (haha) some Invaders soon.
Btw, what are you drums from? They sound dope!
Paul Coutts - Thanks! Superior drummer 2.0 :)
I don’t know if you ever heard of a dude who went by the name “Behindert” on Soundclick years ago, but this sounds just like his tone.
Hey, I need some help.
I use a 6505+ and play alot of death metal. Would you recommend the nazgul, sh8 or sentient?
Ben Mullins - I've only tried the sh8 so I can't really advice you on that one. I sent them an email explaining what I was after and they recommended me the SH8, so that's what I got :)
Subscribed!
I'm going to buy these for my Jackson JDR 94.
Hope you get satisfied with them :)

***** thank you!
Would they be good for a ltd m-17?
Can you write down your guitar neck specifications (shape, radius, scale) including fret wire, please?
Shape was just whatever was default to the 727 model at the time,20" fretboard radius, 25,5" scale, stainless steel med-jumbo frets.
Hey Michael! What's your tuning on this vid? I'm not used to 7 Strings so I can't tell
Sick riffs and tone by the way
Half step down from standard 7-string tuning. Thanks mate :)
Michael, from where did you order your Carvins and how much, approx, did they go for? I live in Sweden, so should be something similar.

***** Yes that would be wonderful. Tack =)
Can someone play some regular DEATHMETAL riffs as well not just pounding the low string over and over? Can we get a Schuldiner or Murphy type solo in here with these pickups as well?
why all they demo is rythm part only no lead so we can hear note to note
What is your set up beyond the axe? Do you use an amp or just the pod modeling software?
+Shawn Spraguer - In this video I just used the POD HD Pro, but normally I use either the Axe Ultra or II.
Would you recommend the Invaders over EMG HZ H4s for Slipknot, Stone Sour style playing? having a little dilemma over which ones to get haha
I've never tried the emg hz so I can't really tell you which one is better. But the invader should get you what you want I think ;)
having used those in my ibanez and cirrently using an invader i would say the invader gets closer but try blackouts instead bro
Too dark for my taste, how about Distortion SH6?
This is the invader 7 set bridge-neck right? Think these would be good for a Schecter C7 Deluxe.. Nice Demo.
How are the invaders for playing classic rock/blues rock? Don't play a lot of it but I do play some.
I'd go with the '59 SH-1 for that. That's what I'm using in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/TRmMhXNYQQI/v-deo.html
The video is almost 10 years old, so not the best quality, but you get the idea.
Michael Hebo thanks for the input also loved the link vid that's one of my favorites
awesome quality, you should get an endorsement.
Appreciate it man :)
***** what color finish is this on this guitar it looks blue with red burst on the edges?

What do you use for your guitar tones? Oh, and here's a challenge: Next guitar video, use nothing but freeware guitar emulators and impulses.
POD HD Pro in this video. Hehe, good idea :)
Wich effect is on min 2.00?
Tremolo
Awesome playing dude! Would it be alright if I used this as a boss theme in my game?
Thanks! Sure, just let me know when the game is done so I can try it out :D
U can find the game here and download to play it. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=711035468
Hey man you ever try modding the invaders? like ripping out the 2 extra magnets?
No?
***** Oh i heard its really epic, because they have triple ceramic magnets inside, you can rip out the two spacer magnets that arent needed, that turns the invade into the duncan distortion but with those huge pole pieces... basically makes it tighter, more clear and brighter... but still insanely thick sounding!
chazzy licks Cool idea!
Does it djent?
can y plz make this track as an mp3 for free download?? i love this track
Agnostic Beats - Haha, I hope you're joking!
Hehe no serious. . I really like it :)

Epic 00:58
Great micheal
Thanks pal :)
First comment! That's some of the nastiest tone I've ever heard.
Thanks man :)
Great track...i liked the look of this guitar better when it had the Lace pickups in it though.
Thanks. I've never had Lace in it, so I guess you mean the DiMarzio X2N or the Q-tuner?
***** Oh right. You did have one with purple pickups though, right? Im just looking at your Icarus Lives track, those aren't Lace?
Guitar looks bitchin man. I got one of these pups just tryin to figure out what to put it in.
Man this kind of playing just doesn’t get me off.
I need this guitar!! nice music too, consider yourself subscribed...!
I put it for sale but no one bought it. Now I've decided to keep it though ;P
is it the 27" scale DC7?
Liveapostasy88 25,5"
***** How much was it? cuz it seems thoroughly custom made? also did you have any shipping issues? I am considering a future purchase of the new DC7x
Cant beat the invaders
Dude, your playing is really good but with all the studio magic, backing tracks, and extra shit going on it's hard to hear what these pickups will do by themselves, with just a guitarist and his amp(a modest setup, not a Marshall half stack cranked on 10,but a nice guitar through a 2x12 combo (but something decent like a Marshall 2x12 combo,Line 6 Spider 2x12,hell even a crate 2x12 practice amp). Bit of an annoying scratching noise here and there. Otherwise killer riffs!
That's an ugly looking pickup.
If you by ugly mean metal as f#¤k looking pickup, I agree :)
Are you crazy?! The best looking pickup ever made.
One of thickest and heaviest pickups
buys a seven string only to play the lowest one haha, jk
I don't like the invader, too muddy and dark sounding.
Try playing major chords
use your, gain and eq controls on your amp, its their for a reason, and if you dont like the pup why even comment? luckily for you there are many many different models of pick ups to choose from. the invader has been in production for 30 years so somewhere someone is liking it and buying it for them to keep on making these.
Stupid overedited video, not mentioning which position is being used, etc. Dislike
hello, what pedal are u using in this video ?
POD HD Pro
both pickups are sh8 ?
Yes.
thanks .
