They wrote this song when they were 12 -13 years old. In this performance, they are 15 - 16. The guitarist turned twenty in November '22. They are just crazy good for any age. They have many years of greatness to come.
This video was recorded around Haruka's 15th birthday, but she wrote the damned thing at 12 (and recorded the audio you heard at 13)! If you want to hear what she wrote at 15, try "Dawn": ua-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/v-deo.html At 18, you got stuff like "Church" here. The girl is a certified genius: ua-cam.com/video/pkiKSBX8JPA/v-deo.html
Asterism is Haruka (20 - Guitar), Miyu (21? - Bass) and Mio (23? - Drums). Haruka also goes by Hal-Ca. They have all been playing in front of audiences since they were 12 or so and Haruka has been writing songs since the same age. She is 15 here and wrote the songe when she was 12. There are videos on UA-cam showing her performing it on stage at 12. She is an incredible guitarist able to play many styles and techniques (there are some very jazz-metal pieces on each of their albums). Miyu is an absolute god on 4, 5 or 7 string bass and Mio is also fantastic. You will not be disappointed in any of their work. They are all clasically trained musicians, having attended the Yamaha Music Foundation School in Fukuoka Japan, which is where they met. Yamaha did a short documentary about them when they were in their early teens, ua-cam.com/video/20jDm2fyLeA/v-deo.html. It doesn't show up on many UA-cam searches since all the text and speech is in Japanese. Please do more Asterism.
When I hear this song I get a lot of EVH flair and vibes between 1980 and 1984, Teenaged kids composing and writing and masterfully Rockin out while having fun doing it. Haruka guitar (aka) Hal-Ca was 15, Miyo bass was 16, and his older brother Mio was 18, and they met when they were only 10 years old and they have been composing since then. I got to see them back in 2019 when they toured the US at the SXSW music festival in Austin Texas and they blew us away. @jonreacts next in line would have to Dawn ua-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/v-deo.html
The first full Asterism album 'Ignition' is full of relatively traditional metal tracks. Executed at the highest level. Their next two releases, 'GUERNICA' (2020) and 'GUERNICA + a' (2021) were more progressive. Their latest is a Japanese anime / metal cover album titled "Animetic", released on September 9th, 2022. They each chose favorite anime themes to "Asterism-ize". 'unravel', the Tokyo Ghoul theme song is my favorite from the new album. Can't wait to see what they do next. I'd love it if an established metal band would take them on tour as an opening act.
Since their label Amuse also does Babymetal I thought they would be the perfect match. But going with Lovebites wouldn't be bad either, imagine Miyu and Fami doing a duet!!
@@jmetallover You know Saki of Nemophila introduced Hal-Ca to play on stage when she was like 14 as a new gifted player, Nemophila on tour now bring them with you to the US
@@michaelmusson3593 No surprise as Saki has been a driving force for years getting women musicians exposure in Japan. Hal-Ca is a generational talent and exudes that rock star/Hendrix vibe especially on stage LIVE. Hoping more of the bands like Nemophila follow LB example and do the European Summer Festivals circuit. Tours in the North and South America will help but that circuit will give them worldwide exposure and a possible LIVE recording to market ( Wacken recordings are usually top notch ). Now that Band Maid and Nemophila have done a US tour hopefully LB will follow suit. Would love to see Asterism open for LB and have Fami and Miyu do some bass numbers together as that would be epic, Hal-Ca and the M&M show would likely be too much for anyone to handle.
Yeah, the three of them are absolutely talented musicians. I love their studio sessions, but their live performances are really great. Especially the cover version of In The Mirror by Loudness. Hal-Ca is second to none, when it comes to metal.
Asterism means a group of stars ! That's what you just witnessed =) Hal-Ca (Lead Guitar) wrote this song when she was 12 and is only 15 in this spectacular performance . This is also their first music video and it's awesome every time i hear/see it =) They are so much better now ! Check Out "Church" or "Unravel" Thanks
Check out Dawn LIVE in a small club ( due to their ages, high schoolers and lack of exposure). Here is the link ua-cam.com/video/buQPvINJcA0/v-deo.html, no vocalist because they make their instruments sign. Hal-Ca is 16 (started guitar at 10) and Miyu is 17 with a custom made 7 string bass made only for him by ESP. This group has been together since Hal-Ca was 11 and they are all gifted beyond their years.
Haruka/Hal-Ca is now 20 and Miyu is 21 but they were 16 and 17 in the Dawn video I recommend. Watching them play and knowing they are high school teens only adds to fact how generational a talent they all are
This song was written by guitarist hal-ca when she was 12 years old, now she is 20, they are all crazy good musicians, and very young, I recommend "dawn" live and "church" live in studio.🤘🏻
Okay, quick. Without looking first. How old do you think they are? I mean here, recording this video? Asterism puts the *_power trio_* into power trio. I don't know what they're putting in the water in Japan, but it makes me hopeful for the future of music in general, and rock music in particular.
Amazing huh ? how such composition like this very well crafted by young teenagers, this is one of their old song, taken from their 2nd EP, this song is a good introduction to Asterism, but they still have plenty masterpieces to explore. That drummer and bassist, Mio and Miyu are sibling, and then they meet Hal-Ca, which is a soloist at that time, their first full Album "IGNITION" has Bucket Head and Bootsy Collins contribution.
Another best songs from Asterism - Dawn, Gunfire and Church. Dawn - live version and in studio with 360 degree view. Gunfire and Church, both live in studio with normal view.
Great job!. This is a wonderful band. I expect great things from them. I think you would love their song Church (live version on their YT channel) which belongs to the incredible album Guernica.

Well there is a reason, this is very early song from Asterism, when they recorded this song, Hal-Ca, the guitarist maybe still 14-15 year old, and you can see she still using barely standard Yamaha Pasifica guitar, if you want to hear this song in much heavier sound, check their live studio version : ua-cam.com/video/BKbxEEYezZc/v-deo.html, in this version Hal-Ca using heavy modified Yamaha Pasifica, or better check their newer song like "Dawn", "Church", "Blaze", "Gun Fire" etc...etc.. and don't blame me, if your jaw dropped.
