Like? Not even a close second to Jeff!
I’ll add Roger Burnley and Saher Galt for a super comprehensive list.
Back again after ignoring my scales and arpeggios for too long. This was my first stop!

Jeff
I also spy a reusable rocket notebook. ♻🚀📓
It’s been impossible to practice with a live teacher during the pandemic. I can’t thank you enough
Some of the greatest exercises for the secondo passagio !
Thanks, Jeff Rolka. From Mexico.
Hello from California! Thanks for being here!
this is my favourite "moving on"
I was going to comment something similar! The attitude cracks me up every time (in a good way). (cheers from nyc! thanks for doing what you do, jeff!)
Jeff has so many great exercises and covers so many different ideas in all his videos. If vocal lessons are too expensive his channel is the best alternative!!! I tried to do a practice-every-day-this-month challenge and went from considering myself a hobbyist to an actual vocalist, all thanks to Jeff and dedication!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! That's exactly how I'd hoped the channel would serve folks!
Keep it up!
Jeff
I'm following you long time ago, more than 5 years and I don't a great singer but, I have been learning a lot.
Thanks
Thank you so much. I appreciate you being here and am glad you're learning some things. That's what it's all about.
Jeff
Many many thanks for this material! You are the Best teacher!
Hi Jeff! Thank you for all of these amazing vocal lessons. I've had the honor of being asked to sing for my friend's wedding and for not having much singing experience your vocal warmups have been helping me a ton!
Another set of fabulous vocal exercises… thanks so much 😀😀
You are the best! I have been having voice issues and muscle tension, no speech therapy has helped but your videos really help!!
That's brilliant! I'm really glad to hear that the videos have helped! Keep it up, and thank you again!
Jeff

Jeff
Thank you so much for this warm up, Jeff! I live by this, because I feel it warms my voice up entirely for whatever I'm about to do with my voice! Such a nice stretch into the higher range to warm up with. I use this vid near-daily, you've really helped my warm ups
Thanks Jeff - my singing teacher recommended you and she was right!
Fantastic! Do tell her that I said, 'Thank you!'
I appreciate it! Thanks for trying out the channel!
Best,
Jeff
I will always be grateful for you and your channel for helping me realize that I'm a tenor. After feeling trapped and uncomfortable being placed in bass in hs chorus I lost a lot of vocal confidence. But following your channel for the last few years has really allowed my confidence to return and voice to soar. Thank you for everything you do!
Wonderful!
lmaoooo HOWWW LIKE BRUH there is a LoT OF DIFF BETWEEN TENOR AND BASS LIKE DAYMNNN BRUHHH .. well glad now uk ur tenor
@@adsonxo not sure. needless to say i never did chorus again lol solo singer since
Thank you Jeff for helping me warm up every day. I love your videos!
I Just had a good time doing these exercises. It's so angelical 🍃🤣 Loved It, thankyou.

Brooooo! Love your older warm ups, so keen for this new one, gonna try it out tomorrow
Love these lessons, so exciting to see a new one pop up
Cheers Jeff
Love the pallet cleansers at the ends!
as a high baritone who is made to sing tenor this helps alot
I like the vibe of your videos!
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the Super Thanks!
I really liked this one, thanks Jeff!
I love the way you talk. You got that melody
great excercises
Really great when you drop the melody in and out so we have to try to hear it in the chords!
Exactly! The whole practice there!
Thank You, You're awesome
Genuinely my new favourite of your warm ups. The chords and yah yahs give it a more "in song" feel for me. I love your instruments! I keep sharing your stuff on twitter but can't find a working handle for you :)
Hello Richard! Thank you for your kind words! My Twitter handle is @jtrolka but I don't tweet a whole lot really. Once in awhile, and mostly inspirational stuff. Or, at least, things that I find inspiring!
Best,
Jeff
great exercises! Why am I feeling a transition from my "chest in head" at the top to the lower notes on the same run on some of these? When my register events usually occur when I use my " light" head voice to chest voice.
The tops of some of these runs may be ascending beyond the next registration event for you. There are three main registration events for male vocalists, the primo passaggio (depending on fach usually between b3-c sharp4) the secondo passaggio (depending on fach between e4-f sharp4) and the third registration event (depending on fach between a4 - c5).
If you've made a good transition across the secondo passaggio, the one above is usually less challenging, but descending back down from having gone above can have some difficulties as the vocal fold has to re-adduct in order to maintain voce piena in testa (the sound of chest voice in head).
I hope that helps!
Jeff
I turn off ad blocker for Jeffs videos! You should too ;)
Thank you! That's so kind! That being said, if you see a mid roll, let me know. UA-cam turned those on and I'm trying to get them all turned off.
Thank you for being here!
Jeff
crazy good
I'm a bass-baritone but can for sure touch the tenor notes, but I see my breaking point is the D# and E (E3?) - is that the 2nd passagio or? I can for sure hum those notes and hit them but not as good in a strong natural voice / tone as the lower registry, sounds like falsetto in my case. What would be the best thing to be a better tenor and transition up to the higher notes? Would be great video material for you Jeff! Best of luck to 2022! Or maybe an extended baritone video/videos!
Great comment/question and thanks for subscribing. You're correct, the d#/e is probably your secondo passaggio. If it's airy and falsetto sounding, your vocal folds are abducting too much. To make it sound consistent with the other parts of your range you have to learn to keep the vocal folds adducted while they elongate. I've done a lot of videos on this, but there two step-by-step systems I've done. One is here:
ua-cam.com/play/PL2mQP7sE6PHgDZbHwHzRwUf-HOWec-fgq.html
The other is here:
jeffrolka.mykajabi.com/high-note-bootcamp
I hope that helps! Thanks!
Jeff
fan for ever
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Very powerful warm up!!
Thanks!!!
Great, thanx
Thank you very much.
You are welcome!
Thank you for that
i love this so much 😄thank you!!
Jeff, thanks for your excellent videos. When getting to what you call Secondo Passaggio, often times I feel my chest voice can continue to sing those notes without extreme strain. How would I know the optimal point to transition to that Mixed voice? And I am a more of a Baritenor!
Excellent question!!! I'll answer you in Questions from Comments 56!
@JeffRolka Thanks! Just to add to the question, sometimes that high note voice placed on the mask area using a chest coordination makes it hard to transition to head voice than transitioning from lower notes, i.e. lower volume or softer tone
Great video
Who else here is a bass-baritone working on their higher range?
howz it goin ?
Me.
Fantastic! How do you get your voice to stay full while going over the break?
The short answer is voce piena in testa! The longer answer is practicing the videos on my channel. That is what they're all designed to work on!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Thanks Jeff! voce piena in testa is head voice, right?
Great video hermano! Thanks a lot!
always been helpful
Thank you Jeff!
Glad to hear it!
looking lean and tuff Jeff.
Hi Jeff,
This was really good, although a bit challenging. I think my range is between baritone and tenor - do you have recommendations to prevent me straining?
Happy to talk about this in Questions from Comments 30! Great question!!!!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Thanks, Jeff! But what is 'Questions from Comments 30'?
Just subscribed. You wouldn't remember me but did a few in person coaching sessions with you a LONG time ago. Happy to see your channel. I'm trying to overcome vocal strain. What are your best resources to help with this?
Hello!
Thank you for subscribing! Vocal strain can be tricky! There are a few videos on the channel. You might have a look at these:
ua-cam.com/video/J_hxNu5OXOs/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/GOsQvyGXNik/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/cmi4HIEXrlI/v-deo.html
With most things music related, however, how we do the practices is as or more important than the practice itself. Focus on how you're using your voice and body during any exercise and notice any areas where you're fatiguing your voice. In a given octave, if some vowels do not have that same strain, you can tailor your exercises to help those vowels inform your delivery on those where you're straining.
I hope that helps!
Best,
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Thank you! I appreciate the advice ad I'll check out those videos. -Jeff
Woooo ... what do you suggest with the
“Globble” attacks ? I naturally cough it out ... but is there a gentler way to remove those physically ... cuz for me water can only do so much.
Glottal attacks! Try using the letter 'h' in front of the vowel. You'll have to ween yourself off of it eventually though.
Thank you Jeff !!!! So it’s Glottal ... hahaha still learning more and more from you coach. See you in Patreon soon !!!
Ok still here :D
you're the best

Just curious: what kind of piano is that?
Thanks for asking! It is a Yamaha GB1K studio grand. Thanks for watching!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka Ahhh, nice! Thanks for the response. It sounds great and you play it well! I love Yamaha pianos and would love to get a grand or mini. A CFX would be quite nice 🤣 Thanks for all you do 🙏
i swear i hate to see dat 1 dislike on this video
Thank you! I appreciate it! Thanks for watching and enjoy!!
Jeff
@@JeffRolka ily :)
U shouldnt start with this in morning.Warm up should be easy.
What is easy and what is hard is quite relative. This video would be difficult if you haven't worked on registration event technique or it's still forming. Could be challenging in the morning, in which case you might try:
