Hey brother, my vocal instructor pointed me in this direction a few months back ago. I'm not looking to become a Pavarotti, I sing Irish rebel tunes and Dropkick Murphy's covers. Having said that, my voice went from sounding like I dump razor blades and nails in my Guinness, to a well controlled voice, affected by razor blades and nails in my Guinness. These exercises are great. You turned a bagpipe player into a singer (kinda) What shocks me the most, in my day job, I am getting compliments on my voice from clients I've been dealing with for years. (I have to talk a lot in my job.) Even at times when I need to raise my voice, or inflect more, I notice a difference when I review the videos. Awesome stuff
Thank you so much for sharing this with me, I really appreciate it! I would love to hear what you're singing - you can't send links through these comments but maybe send something through the contact form at www.jeffrolka.com if you like! Really glad to hear that the videos are working for you! Best! Jeff
hey Jeff, I have no paypal but I asked a friend who has it today to donate (his initials are RDV from Ghent in Belgium) I just want to say that you are the only voice teacher it seems on youtube who is not 80% or more talking himself.
Yes! Thank you so much for your generosity! I really appreciate it! Thank you, yes! I try to keep the talking to as little as possible and get to the singing. That is what I think will help the most! Thank you for watching and thank you again for your kind and generous contribution! Jeff
Jeff I have been utilizing your vocal videos everyday and they’re definitely the best on UA-cam. You improved my voice significantly to where I feel completely comfortable joining a singing competition now. You should post vocal warmups for tenors that assist and developing longer breathe support and a stronger chest voice.
Thanks so much Jeff!! I use your warm-ups religiously (punny cause I'm the preacher in a local version of Bonnie and Clyde) I am so grateful for the confidence your vids have given me in my abilities!! mucho love!!!
been watching your videos and practicing everyday since 2015!! now im a fulltime singer in a couple of bars and restaurants here in our province in the phillipine...Mabuhay ka Jeff Rolka Thank you soo much and godbless...!!!
Thanks Jeff for another amazing video. You do such good work when putting these together, fantastic progression. Im a professional singer and I use your videos daily. Best from Norway :)
Jeff, you're definitely the best singing coach in youtube. In just few drays I've found interesting new things from my voice and overall when speaking felt more relaxed. Thamk you, keep these videos coming. 😊 Have a nice day!
I loved this Jeff! I started with the old Tenor Warm Up and it allowed me to discover my "support" on the chest voice, and now my singing has improved a lot! This ones does make me feel im strengthening my upper register
Thank you Jeff, I´ve been practicing with your videos that I enjoy so much. Really thank you and big hugs from Venezuela. By the way, I´m going to follow you on twitter!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great excercises ! Love your channel. I`v been doing this warm ups with my students here in Chile. So thanks for this!. You do skype lessons? i`m very interested in that. Cheers!
Hello! Thanks for your kind words! Yes! I do Skype lessons all the time. You can contact me through my website www.jeffrolka.com and we can go through all the details! Best! Jeff
Hey Jeff, when working on high range should you try to keep as relaxed as possible allowing the notes to come out or not on their own building up ease of production, or should you use a little force to make them sound while building musicale?? Thanks
Hello sir you are great. I want to know one thing, that whenever I stay relaxed during the high notes and let the transition takes place, I don't get that full belting full body resonance in the high. But when I do a little pushy I get that full belting proper resonance sound. Sooo what is actually better for us. ??
Dear Jeff - What would be an ideal range in scale of notes for a tenor singer is that B2-C5 or B2- G4 ? I can go till G2-G4 without strain and then with some strain till C5. Is that good are bad ?
If in the last “may” exercise there are connectivity problems ie rough transitions, how do I assess and correct (what work should I do to correct?) thank you!
Whatever is most sustainable for you. The best thing is to get into a regular routine that you can do every day. You'll adapt to it even if it isn't what starts out as a less than ideal time. Best, Jeff
I usually study in the evening. About 1 hour. One day the voice is very beautiful, the next day it is very bad. Is this normal? I want to have a skill that is always ready to sing. Is this possible?
Jeff is like the human embodiment of a lava lamp - calming, relaxing, and helps me focus! Thanks so much Jeff, I love your warm ups!
High praise! I love it! Thank you for watching and thank you for your kind words!
Jeff
All we need in dark times is our Lava Lamp Jeff!

Jeff
Love the lava lamp! Please could you do a video on long vowel sounds?
Thanks! I've always loved those things! By long vowel sounds do you mean with a lot of sustain, like long duration notes?
Best!
Jeff
Yah Jeff!;
It was great 😄🎶🙌🏻
Hey Jeff, when working on high range should you try to keep as relaxed as possible allowing the notes to come out or not on their own building up ease of production, or should you use a little force to make them sound while building musicale??
Thanks
Stay relaxed. The transitions through the ranges are best facilitated that way!

Jeff

Is head voice / chest voice / falsetto considerate as vocal range
Great question! I'm going to talk about it here:

I hope I can help. I think g2 to g4 is enough to be a tenor, although there isn't any precise and 'official' information about that.
these were difficult, in the best way
If in the last “may” exercise there are connectivity problems ie rough transitions, how do I assess and correct (what work should I do to correct?) thank you!
Great question! I'll address this in Questions from Comments 35!
Jeff
Hello, Could you advise me about convenient workout times? Because my voice sounds different for every day.
Whatever is most sustainable for you. The best thing is to get into a regular routine that you can do every day. You'll adapt to it even if it isn't what starts out as a less than ideal time.
