Vintage is a scam … only a handful of old cards are actually worth big money and only in the high grades … the vast majority of vintage is worthless
Is there a way to tell if a set is still 'in print' or not, or will be reprinted? You mentioned 151 being printed into oblivion. I haven't seen for sale in a while and some other stuff seems to be out of stock as well. I thought maybe it wasn't being printed anymore.
doesnt matter, pullrate is absolute ass on 151, so the reprints still dont help much imo. pulls are still valuable imo.

Obsidian flames is literally the best booster box with the nicest artwork. It sucks how it came out after a bunch of charizards were already released prior or else this would have done really really well. The charizard looks so sexy.
obsidian flames price crashed because they printed so much of it and the pull rates are really easy

I should've bought that latios & latias tag team card when it was $250 😒
I was at the last regionals it shot up at and my wife and I were going to get it at 350. I had a strong hunch that it was going to go up but we decided to get some other stuff with the money we needed for the personal collection. Whenever we peaked back at the price, we were floored. Needless to say, I don't shake off hunches anymore.

151 got me back after 20 years. Loving this set, the pull rates are tough tho haha
And it’s hard to find 151 unless you’re buying bulk or from randos from eBay 😅

I was able to pull the alt art charizard ex and the regular charizard ex in the same tin poke ball, different packs but same ball. (3 packs per ball)

Walmart always has expensive sets for retail price just the other day j found a silver tempest etb for $40 and a shining fates etb for $50
they have evo skies ETB for $59.99 right now can usually find good stuff on there

I agree I think the original alt arts will hold value overtime, I have 13 that I will be holding onto for a long time a couple duplicates of some as well. I just recently starting collecting sealed about a year and a half ago was able to get some good stuff on the cheaper side

Im finding the scarlet and violet era pretty lack luster tbh. As an adult collector i can appreciate that the kids probably love it and really that matters more so im happy to take a back seat on these sets. 151 was ok. The card quality for english has dropped dramatically as well iv barely seen any cards without whitening on the back. More so than sword and shield.
You're nuts if you think S&V is lack luster lol. Compare it swsh, rebel clash, champions path and Shining fates and tell me that S&V is lackluster. You do realize 151 is the only set since evolving skies to actually gain value in singles??
@@PokeBeardTCG i dont care the card quality was way better and the alt arts had better designs. And i recon its a popular opinion Hence the prices being so much more for s&v alt arts over SARs in S&V
@joelh90 as someone who opens a ton of cards, the quality is basically the same as Sword and shield. The reason swsh alt arts are worth more is because they have way harder pull rates, and there aren't as many. Has nothing really to do with the designs. It's also the pokemon they're choosing. They always, and I mean always have the first sets really heavy with the new generation so people get used to them. The shiny illustration rares will hold their value a lot better because there aren't as many and will be tough to pull.

@@mannyknoxville247 sorry man I’m back state side now. But at the Pokémon center they only sold lose packs. They sold booster boxes at times but they take the wrapping off when you buy them
