It also helps that in the books they said Korra couldn't speak to the next Avatar as she cut herself out of the cycle both before and after so uhh ain't gonna be able to tell which is which by who they talk to in past lives because neither would have any given there previous incarnation died in the avatar state and the other accidentally cut contacts with a thousand years of knowledge oops
some of these leaks sounds interesting, but whats annoying is that we still have lot of unanswered questions from the original series and the legend of korra e.g. how did sokka die or what happened to him, what happened to the kyoshi warriors & why weren't they in the legend of korra, what happened to the sandbenders and foggy swamp tribe.
i think the worst, maybe even the only bad idea that has came out of this franchise is the idea of a "dark" avatar or "dark" spirits.or just rava and vatu in general. any other idea has some good things about it but this one just goes against everything that was established in ATLA. yet for some reason they keep bringing up this idea like it's the best one they've ever had
I mean, I have no reason to believe this, but maybe this whole dual Avatar thing is precisely about balance between order and chaos?! I'm really hoping so and I guess soon we will discover just how delusional I am
@@eroz0That what Ozai and Aang is. Ozai was just lame big bad villain. Aang was the hero. LOK it's more fleshed out except book two. LOK needed time to plan out, it would've been better than what we got thanks to Nickelodeon.
My hope is that the new series manages to backpedal a bit and rescue some nuance - the "dark avatar" in Korra was brought forward by an ill-intended guy looking for a link with a powerful spirit which was imprisoned, and I sure wouldn't mind a bit of retconning on the way that ended up presenting the spirits
Cool but it isn’t just about balance it’s about the cycle of balance and chaos, everything must fall into chaos for a new balance to be born of of said chaos.
This reads like fanfiction and I know this because I LITTERALLY WROTE ALMOST EXACTLY THIS SAME THING! No seriously, the premise of my story involves the Dark Avatar and Light Avatar clashing over the course of the entire series, granted Korra is the light avatar in that scenario but that's beside the point.
Clown, you didn't write anything, you just based your fanfic off of what creators had already established. We already had a dark avatar in legend of korra, it was literally unalaaq. The dark avatar already existed before Pavi and Nisha and the creators are clearly delving deeper into that.
Probably steal or read stuff from fans. Honestly, you should make sure your work wasn't plagiarized. Because some of these companies like Viacom or paramount or Disney do balent IP rip off from fan works because they own the IP and think derivative works belong to them and also creative inspiration and licensing requirements protect them from future misuse through patent or deed IP. They also have money and lawyer muscle to challenge any rivals or artists or creatives that challenge them somehow.
This doesn't looks good to me especially with the world destroying and all. It feels like the creators don't know what to do with the franchise so they just throw whatever they can in oder to make it more interesting. I'm afraid that the series will go even futher from what the series was originally.
It may be worse than that some creators become resentful of their creation and don't want to work on it anymore. I hope they are still passionate about the lore and world building.
My man, the whole leak thing bout this twin avatars are questionable itself, firstly they don't look like from any earth bender nations which I'm which is the next cycle supposed to be. And there's a different leak that answers make sense, a boy earth bender that actually is an earth nation people and not twin for that matter
I’m….not feeling this new series the more I hear about it😭 Avatar has been part of my life since 2005 when I was 6. But this doesn’t feel right. And Korra being the one responsible for the world being destroyed? For as much hate as she has gotten over the years, this literally just made Korra’s haters foam at the mouth ready to eviscerate her even more- I remember when Korra first came out in 2012 and I was initially skeptical/scared of the idea of a world where the original team Avatar had either passed on or were old. It took me some time but when I rewatched the series when I became an adult, I grew to like Korra despite her many flaws and mistakes. There came a point I decided to humble myself and was finally open enough to hear people out regarding their criticisms of her to understand why a good chunk of the fanbase hated her. That being said, I will acknowledge maybe it’s just my initial feelings because of what I’m hearing. Maybe it’s because I’m not quite ready for this type of change because I grew up with Avatar and I can’t imagine the world Bryke built all those years ago being torn apart from an apocalypse as a result of one person- or one Avatar for that matter. I have to see the series for myself when the time comes to see how I’ll feel. I trust that they’ll give us something meaningful to watch as they have before and I will forever remain grateful for this franchise…. but for now, my heart aches a little😔
Explain to me how jojo's bizarre adventure can stay good for years replacing it's protagonist with each new part but ATLA gets worse with each sequel? This is pitiful i really hope this turns out to be good but idk.
In Jojo, Araki aimed to getting better at writing the narrative and characters progressively throughout the manga. Compare how stale the characters and story are in Jojo Part 1 to Part 5, not even Part 7 and beyond. But just Part 5, more memorable characters, more defined and intrigruing battles, MORE THEMATIC storytelling (Giorno being Jesus, Diavolo being the Devil, relative to Part 1, where its a vampire hunting story. The writers of ATLA try to change their storytelling by writing something different, never improving on the points, which they already established. (Hence, for instance, Bolin isnt as funny Sokka, and Mako isnt as relatably damaged as Zuko )
I can't trust millennial writing to not be incredibly cringe and unfunny. Not after all the series they ruin. This will not be on the same level as ATLA and TLOK methinks
NGL I kinda hope in the future the dark avatar acts more like characters like Dr Doom, Reverse Flash or DIO in the sense that they would be extremely petty towards the regular Avatar and just mess with them constantly
Given that vatuu is about destruction, evil, and chaos. Why would yall root for an evil dark avatar? Y’all want the innocent to die and the world to be consumed in suffering? That’s weird 😮💨
that the point there still in the beginning of writing the plot and these are only partial leaks they could change there idea, it will make more sense when there finished.
It makes perfect sense vatuu is currently inside of Korra, that needs to be addressed, we can't just jump and have a normal avatar, it'll leave alot of questions unanswered and possibly break the lore, this is a logical and realistic outcome.
I mean the Avatar rules are reset now.. Not much past avatar history. Sadly there’s new lore probably being created now. Let’s keep guessing theories though it’s fun lol
Bro obviously the plot matters. That’s why avatar the last air bender is the greatest story ever told. I’m just saying I’ll be watching the new one regardless. The Animation jump from ATLA to Korra was was massive. Everybody hates on Korra but the bending fight scenes were way better. I’m just imagining the next jump, the fight scenes and animation in this new show should be mind blowing. Also the post apocalyptic world setting is interesting
Mmmm maybe. Like the first few seasons of Korra were good animation wise but the later half was definitely a lot worse. You can definitely see it in the character designs with Korra and Asami in season 4. I already have low expectations but hey we’ll see.
@@lordkuriki5475 nickelodeon cut the budget for them. He was either fire staff in the middle production or cut the quality it’s pretty obvious which one they chose.
I love how they took the concept from Korra’s second season, you know, the evil avatar plot point that nobody liked, and made it the main premise for this show. All we can do is hope that things go well
Depending on how they feel, they might make Roku a fraternal twin while the new Avatars are identical as reasoning to explain the difference in treatment
@PelafinaLievre Maybe but even Korra from a toddler age could bend 3/4 elements. Even Aang before learning anything could bend other elements while in the AS and Unalaq seemed to be in a perpetual AS during that fight
I believe that Yue is the answer to the Avatar sisters' dynamics. As a baby, Yue received part of the "soul", "spirit", "aura", "chi field" of the Moon Spirit (Tui) and becomes a "Horcrux". Perhaps Tui had prior knowledge of his death and needed that life ballast? During this energy exchange, Yue's hair changes color. Moving on to Pavi and Nisha, it would be possible for Nisha to have been born lifeless and Raava-Pavi transferred part of the "Spirit" which became the Avatar's "Horcrux". And a possible change would be to have bendings.
I like how fans tend to have better ideas that the writers when push to comes to shove because writers start diveating too hard with their storytelling!😄
I won't go as far as to say that Avatar is a one-hit wonder, because honestly I enjoyed most of Legend of Korra before i soured on it, but what the hell are they doing? None of this sounds good to me. I'm sure it will find an audience. Most things usually do. But I don't believe I'll be watching this.
If the Dark Avatar could bend all four elements, it would completely break the established lore According to the story, Wan was only able to bend the other three elements because the lion turtles granted him the bendings, which Raava then carried for him. With that in mind, if the Dark Avatar were able to bend three elements on their own, it would be a clear example of bad writing and inconsistency with the established rules of the Avatar universe agh...🤦🤦
There's been multiple retcons in this franchise, but every time someone brings them up, fans make an excuse for it and say it wasn't a retcon. I wonder what types of excuses they come up with this time?
@@TrueDokkanGod hehe they broke so much lore in Tlok, and it looks like they're going to break even more in this one... It's so frustrating as an Avatar fan
I would love to see a villain "Good" Avatar that exploits her/his Avatar status while the "Evil" Dark Avatar being the main character. If Pavi is pure evil, then Imagine if Nisha's goal is to put an end to the Avatar Cycle by sealing both Raava and Vaatu so no one can exploit them again. If they go in this direction and the execution is good enough I might give this show a try.
I wish that IPs would stop retconing things when it serves no purpose in universe. I see that most retcons nowadays in entertainment is due to bad and/or lazy storytelling.
@@chkensammichOr you don't wanna accept change. LOK did not change anything but explained it further. How would the avatar state work for the first avatar if we're left with explanation it's powered up by past lives? Ravaa made sense just written badly.

Lmaoooo it’s so crazy. Even though I didn’t hate that season, it’s wild that they’re doing that. The Ravaa vaatu writing is very wonky tbh. They are bold for this I’ll give them that
Honestly this is intriguing cause in korra we learned again darkness cant be destroyed aka vaatu cause where theres light ravva theres always darkness with so this is very interesting cause im curious if there gonna work together or are they gonna be enemies
I think this might be an attempt to fix the criticisms of LoK's Book 2. Many people felt like Korra should have absorbed Vaatu instead of imprisoning him, To truly achieve BALANCE. If they are truly trying to semi-retcon the story so that Vaatu isn't wholly evil and Raava isn't wholly good, I'm all for it.
X to doubt. I think they prolly just doubling down on the basic "good vs evil" gimmick. If they really wanted to retcon Raava and Vaatu, they coulda done back in the Korra Era.
@KazehareRaiden I know, I know, but when was it introduced that each avatar has Raava inside, meaning it represents only light. Because in general I think the concept of balance and harmony is senseless and illogical
@@Artenar Wait, what exactly are you trying to get at here? Are you trying to say that the original lore of Avatar is senseless and illogical because it was about balance, and you somehow prefer the introduction of Raava because that makes the Avatar just another light entity? Or, are you saying you somehow hate the idea of balance in general? Which itself is an extremely flawed statement.
Im ready for this, i think people need to keep in mind that this is a evolving world. Its not gonna be the same as the original show and we should accept new things.
Ok i haven’t finished the video, and I love the idea of two avatars with twins, but as a twin I’m so over the whole good one/bad one stereotype. I really would love to see twins having to work together to become the 4 elements. That would be interesting. Plus why do black cats keep being portrayed as bad :(
@@happilyevernever4289 well yes I understand that but if they’re gonna make it into two avatars as twins I think that’s a cool concept if done right. The way it’s looking like they’re gonna do a good twin/bad twin is just lazy and disappointing and should’ve just been left as one avatar possibly battling the bad within them or something.
Sounds like this could lead back to the orginal avatar with the rivarilr between light and dark with humans living on turtle lions again. This could just be one large cycle thats repeated itself time and time again.
Please don’t be multiple avatar one is already op idea isn’t imposible but just wished they re release LOK and and change it up to not have this plot point ;( I’ll be skeptical and give it a benefit of the doubt it be solid but time will tell
Am I the only one who really enjoyed Korea’s season 2? I thought Wan’s story was very beautiful, and I loved the change in the art style. It actually moved me to tears.
No, I enjoyed it as well. A lot of the Avatar fanbase seem really emotionally juvenile and unable to adapt to change. It is anime inspired, so that isn't too surprising. Probably a lot of those aging autistic nerds the likes of which you see getting overly worked up over Star Wars and all that.
I said this ever since LoK, but Korra has completely ruined the franchise going forward. If they had Aaron Ehaz in the writing group for it, like with ATLA, then a lot of the problems i had with Korra would be gone and the future of the franchise would have been so much brighter.
@@commanderpluto6307 The Mechas didn't ruin Korra. You can say you don't like them. That is fine. But, it didn't "ruin" Avatar. They actually keep Avatar from feeling too similar to our World.
Do they really have to change the status quo all the time? Do we need to have a story with the creation of dark avatars, melding of the spirit/real world, detailed explanation of ancient origins of the series... can't we just have a grounded and more or less self contained story set in the avatar universe?
When you understand the concept of dualities and its ever presence around us and within us, you’ll notice the entire avatarverse is an elaborate metaphor or an allegory for the concept. It’s the main reason I’ve loved avatar so much. I’ve been wondering when they were going introduce the dark parts of the duality. Yin and yang was the first depiction of a duality (as far as I can tell). It was a simple drawing to depict the most complex topic I’ve come across.
That makes soooo much sense, I have always thought "if raava can still be inside vattu after she is destroyed and dark can't exist without light and the other way around, doesn't that mean vattu is inside raava now which means he is inside Korra as well?" Like I thought it was strange how they never talked about it so I would be so happy if that's what the new series is going to be about. Also tlok season 2 is my favorite so I'm happy to know it can bring so much more exciting stories beyond tlok season 3.
@yato09397 They could make a plot twist where nisha could be some random girl who is the dark avatar before revealing herself to be pavi's twin sister and that she had the mother of faces change her face.
I am hoping they will end the series with something along the lines, "of one can not exist with the other," or "there must be both chaos and peace" or "light can't exist without darkness." Basically establising a Ying and Yang that was communicated in Avatar Wan's 2 episode in TLOK, but was contradicted when Wan only incorporate Raava but not Vaatu into the Avatar spirit.
One of the biggest issues when it comes to sequels and prequels for many ppl. is it can often render any solid theories & interpretations about initial story as basically only personal headcanon at best moving forward. Or at worst completely retcon’s & 180’s aspects of the initial official canon as opposed to just simply expanding on the initial canon. Even for some ppl prequels/sequels are the worst due to the fact that it robs the audience of using their own imagination to fill in gaps of what happened before/after the events show on screen. 🤔
Didn't know there was even gonna be a new series, but the more I hear about a post apocalyptic Avatar setting, the more pumped I am. As a casual viewer I personally don't mind if they have to retcon some things so long as they don't destroy everything. So far I'm looking forward to this. Can't wait to see where it goes, as someone who didn't have any major problems with TLOK like I know various fans did. My only hope is that the writers don't go lazy and just explain away what happened and potentially caused an apocalypse is that "Avatar Go Bad!" and not explain anything about what happened. If anything, I hope they go down the route of these different havens having different stories/retellings of what happened that contradict one another and you as a viewer can try to piece the truth together as the other characters do, but I doubt they'll go down that route.
Well, I'll certainly watch this new entry into this beloved franchise but, in my opinion, the best showcase of what two equal-yet-opposite Avatars could have been like came from a Fanfic series: Avatar, The Last Airbender books 5 (Chaos, complete), 6 (Order, complete) and 7 (Spirit, hiatus), by Morgman. In this fic, there was always supposed to be two Avatars: one representing Spirit & Mind and in charge of handling the spirit realm (and having the associated psychic/energybending powers plus the 4 elements) and the other representing Nature and Blood (in tune with the natural world and having enhanced physical abilities and animal-related powers + bending). The fic has its flaws and its strengths but it's author took the time to flesh out the dual-avatar concept and how it could work in line within his take on the AtLA universe.
I actually really like this, it sounds philosophically interesting even? Like, first avatar breaks the bond between the spirits. Kora breaks the cycle from the first avatar but also reestablishes the bond between the spirits, only this time also linked to the new avatar cycle. It gives a positive, "forward" spin to the whole messing with the cycle in Korra. Also, biologically identical twins come from a single cell, which then separate and eventually differentiate (phenotypically), in a neat parallel to the spirits. Another bonus is that by having a new "dark avatar" who is born with this link, instead of explicitly obtaining it later and for nefarious means, they have the chance to re-explore and touch up the whole situation where they took yin-yang and turned it into good-bad. Also, the whole situation would probably tie with whatever happens to the world. I'm not saying it will work out, but honestly this has my attention way more than "next avatar but a bit in the future".
I just have to say this sounds like too much. They choose to change everything I think it won't work sometimes less is more. I mean if they kept the 4 nations and went post apocalyptic it would be more believable. How can you field an army like 10 to 40 years after the apocalypse. It just feels like they are m biting of1f more than they can chew. Also sibling rivalry is just redoing zuko and azula. This I something they do all the time.
A couple of years ago, I saw a series called Fixing Kora. Basically, the guy was rewriting the series & fixing any mistakes but kept the storyline & epasod count the same. When he got to the original of the avatar, rather than have Wan fuse with Rava & trap Vatu, he instead had Wan fuse with both Rava & Vatu. Having both spirits in 1 body is the only way I see twin avatars being possible, & I'm glad you pointed out the ending of Kora s2, which solves that problem.
Well I'm disappointed now. I was expecting them to contradict previously established lore but I was hoping they would at least do something interesting with it. We really DON'T need another sibling rivalry, especially if one is presented as the purley good one and the other as the purely evil one. This sounds so boring If this is how the series is actually going to continue I think I'm just going to stick to fanfiction
Exactly, the entire point of the spirit world in the original show was that you can enter it if you're spiritually gifted/worked for it. Korra just took that and made it so "erm akctuali the avatar has opened the magical portals to the spirit world that were there since like, forever 🤓" and now everyone gets to go to the spirit world. They completely disregarded their original audience and just allowed corporate greed to ruin one of the best shows ever.
If they made a Chaos Avatar cycle, they should have made it backwards, like Water > Air > Fire > Earth. In order for both Avatars to be reincarnated as twins, Korra should've taken down at least two Chaos Avatars before passing away (maybe she and the Chaos Fire Avatar passed away at the same time), meaning that Nisha has four entities to draw advice from (Vaatu > Unalaq > Chaos Air Avatar > Chaos Fire Avatar), while Pavi only has two (Raava and Korra) :'v Plus, they should be able to talk with both Spirits since they don't have that many past lives acting as filters, though to make things even I hope Pavi could restore her connections to at least Aang and Roku, that way both the Order and Chaos cycle would reach balance.
One problem, the OG Avatar could bend all four elements because said avatar was given bending by the various lion turtles. The Dark Avatar only had Waterbending due to being bound to Unalauq. Meaning they'd always be a waterbender.
@@bryanmcclure2220 Except we were explicitly told if Vaatu is destroy he won't reappear for 10,000 years. So him appearing contradicts the lore they established.
I think Korra, after what she's experienced, decided that dark and good should be seperated forever. Or she couldn't get these 2 together anymore. But either way, since her, there has been twins with avatars. It makes it also way harder for people to find them both. And the story can be made way more interesting to. But yeah we will see next year right xD
This might be a minor thing to gripe about, but I REALLY wish they made one of the twins a male to not only fully commit to this yin and yang situation theme they've got going on, but also to have two Avatar's completely mirror Aang and Korra.
@@Biolo-G_KJ Just because one show's writing of a concept is bad, doesn't make it more likely to be bad for another show. Like for example its just as easy to make ATLA show, bad, like what the live action's did, as it was to make season 2 of the TLOK bad.
@gamingwitharlen2267 yeah but it's the same writers doing the same concept that already failed once. Again the chance it fails is waaay higher than it being great. People already dislike the concept that season 2 created, so playing more into that with the writers that created spiritlaserblast nonsense does not put trust in the succes of the series.
@@Biolo-G_KJ The concept of the 100 year war in both live actions also failed, I am also not saying we need the spirit blasts. Instead I am saying we can have regular bending fights. I also like the idea of spirits as old as time with 1 being peace and the other chaos, symbolizing the Ying and Yang. Which they can throughout the series demonstrate via the characters that one can't exist without the other. So instead of destroying each other, they can become 2 parts of the same whole. Instead of in Korra where it is Vaauta vs Raava basically.
I always thought Korra's spirit was able to pull Raava back out of Unavaatu because of harmonic convergence still ongoing which enormously amplifies energy/spirit bending powers, after that it would have been impossible until the next HC
I mean maybe it makes sense since Vaatu basically exists within Raava after Korra’s battle with UnaVaatu. The act of this of Raava and Vaatu being one means Vaatu could therefore also hold all four elements. Also, given the Avatar(s) after Korra will be the first with Raava & Vaatu it can make sense how twin Avatar’s can exist.
I already imagined that Korra would cause the destruction of the world, she made several bad decisions, leaving countless enemies with the bend, and even alive, despite the crimes committed. Korra wasn't a good Avatar, ok, it doesn't matter if you're a fan or a hater of Korra, she didn't know how to be a good Avatar, period. Now, I thought that the next story would actually show the new Avatar having to correct Korra's mistakes, learning from herself not to repeat her mistakes from her previous life, although I didn't think about a post-apocalyptic world. This could be phonetically fantastic or a melodic nightmare. Because it is A CHANCE to correct all the errors in Korra's Story, not only in the character, but also in the script, which from beginning to end was disappointing. A failed heroine who seeks to redeem herself, a villain using evil to achieve the greater good, or giving hope in a world without her. It's something we all urgently need today. Avatar is a critique of our own world, we are at a decisive moment of evolution or death, living in dystopia. These two could be the redemption or destruction of the franchise. NOTE: I hope they don't turn them into bad stereotypes like Korra.
@ I’m not hating I love avatar more than anything else I’ve watched the show more than 7 times but the concept of the new show doesn’t make sense it doesn’t even feel like avatar and with the comments in this video I think alot of people agree with me
It could be ravaa wanted to try and remove Vatuu from her in some way, or Korra wanted to, but Vatuu had to go somewhere, this resulted in the start of a dark avatar cycle of sorts that would naturally coencide with the regular avatar cycle
I would honestly much prefer if there was one avatar and there was just a storyline where the avatar was slowly starting to become corrupted by Vaatu on the inside. Anyways this sounds fake to me and I am choosing not to believe any of it until I see a trailer, some promo, official footage, or official art proving that it’s real.
Just spitballing here, but what if that’s what was happening to Korra by the end of her life and that’s what helped lead to the destruction of the world?
I'm gonna say both twins are good avatars and the reason why there's two now is out of necessity considering it's a post apocalyptic world one avatar's not gonna cut it this time around
Maybe Korra became the dark avatar because of Vaatu reawakening and destroyed the 4 nations. She had to sacrifice herself to stop and that's how raava and vaatu split?
@@katejoseph6547 Idk, I guess it might be because there was damage that was already done and it was so bad that the four nations had to be split to 7 havens.
@@katejoseph6547 korra haters just have a filter on where any time they see a good thing korra did they just immediately go for why its bad and her fault unless its something good then she had nothing to with it
I think something with a concept like this would be really cool if the twin was a main antagonist, "defying" all known laws of bending by being a "second avatar" with the basic 'split at birth' type of twin story. This would make for some INSANE fan theories, lore drops, and red herring opportunities for the writers to throw in there to mislead theorists.

All of this is getting me super hyped for this new series!! We never know if it'll be amazing or a flop but it sounds like there is a good chance they are going to make a good and enjoyable show and expand the lore we love so much!!!
This sounds exactly like the plot of the star wars acolyte, they need to have good characters without pandering for it to be good and korrs already showed us they are willing to pander to the audience...
I feel like the dark and light avatar will cook with the next series. I think it will touch base on Korra season 2 and could further explain why there was a seven heavens for the alleged plot. Vaatu still plays a role in avatar alongside raava.
Tbh I think this sounds awesome. A light and dark avatar doesn't mean it has to simply be good vs evil. Maybe the dark avatar has a propensity for darkness/evil and the light avatar has a propensity for light/good, but isn't the whole point of the avatar supposed to be balance? I think this has potential to bring nuance and depth to the universe in addition to the inherent conflict. Just my thoughts.
The only way I think think of to make it work is to try and redeem Vaatu to some extent. Get the Twin to change his ways or something. Otherwise, any Nation/"Haven" that he'd end up in would just likely kill him and his Dark Avatar in the Avatar State.
But will be about good and evil in the end, Vaatu was cleary the bad guy in Korra's era and why will be different this time? Maybe the one with the dark spirit can be strong and don't to bad things but we all know that in the end Vaatu will be seen as villain and a part of something bigger than himself this "balance"
@@_AnnoyingPerson they can just make him the first dark spirit who feel out of balance with himself after he made the portals and thats why he's evil and spreads his "affliction" to other spirits then they can just find a way to ease his pain and return him (and technically raava since she would gets affected) back to normal
I hope they redeem Vaatu a bit. Raava and Vaatu are based on yin and yang, yet one is evil and the other good, which is not what yin and yang are about. Either one taking over is supposed to be a bad thing. Heck, I am going to guess that the destroyed world was a delayed effect of Vattu's death and the unbalance that caused. They would have to retcon his and Raava's personalities a little bit. But I was never convinced that Ravva was actually pure good. She seemed more about order and treated humans pretty dismissively like every other spirit until she grew closer to Wan.
That's bullshit and wrong. They ARE NOT based on Yin and Yang. That's the fish in the north pole. Rewatch the damn series. Vaatu is the Spirit that is all evil and Raava of Light
So, during Harmonic Convergence either Raava or Vaatu are *supposed* to die. What happened in the end of Season 2 is no different than Vaatu being put back in the Tree. However, I do agree that Vaatu should change a bit. Chaos in and of itself isn't evil. It's change. Rather unpredictable change but change none the less. Avatar is about Balance. I think it'd be interesting if they are the focus they do something big and interesting. Have them unlock Lightbending and Shadowbending. Have the "Light" Avatar use Energybending to give the Element of Light. And The "Dark" Avatar gives the Element of Shadow. Or, if they can't, have them discover the Lion Turtles of Light and Lion Turtle of Shadow. Maybe in the last Season both could gain the opposite Element even. I mean, with all the craziness these leaks have offered; why not?
This almost feels like Transformers one in a way, like two people start out as friends, but then, at the end, they have this epic showdown for the fate of the world or at least that’s how I interpret it
Y'all need to have more faith the funding is different this time. This isn't the ages of Nick ordering 1 single season meant to be a contained thing then extending it then messing with the air time THEN taking it off network to streaming only. This is Avatar Studios they have been investing a lot more time and money into planning this project as part of the bigger goal of building up an extended Avatar universe.
If Nisha is the dark avatar, then they should've kept the twin thing a secret until the last episode of season 1 or 2. Nisha can have her face changed by The Mother of Faces to hide her identity towards the main protagonist
If they want two avatars without involving Vaatu, they could pull a Calypso Twins from Borderlands 3. In that universe, only women can be sirens. Because of how bad the end of Korra Season 2 was. They tried the Dark Avatar idea and nearly killed the franchise. There's been a few that have turned out alright but the majority of dark versions are in really awful adaptations.

I think it would make for a really compelling story if one of the twins was indeed a “dark” avatar but over the course of the story (much in a similar way to Zuko’s redemption arc) they slowly start to learn from each other regardless of the spirit inside them and finally find a way to balance the world better than the Raava avatar ever could on their own - I just like the idea that the concept would look deceptively simple and easy for children to understand and then they’d turn it on its head by adding complexity, it may look like “light VS dark” but it has always been about balance right?? And even if it really IS “light VS dark” who ever said light was good? Or that dark was bad? Idk I just see many ways they could handle this trope really well y’know? Yes. The original Avatar was all about balance. And then they decided to go with the trite light/dark, good/evil narrative.

Clown, you didn't write anything, you just based your fanfic off of what creators had already established. We already had a dark avatar in legend of korra, it was literally unalaaq. The dark avatar already existed before Pavi and Nisha and the creators are clearly delving deeper into that.

I trust that they’ll give us something meaningful to watch as they have before and I will forever remain grateful for this franchise…. but for now, my heart aches a little😔

Simple: the writer with their head on straight left. When you dont have someone to keep an author in check you get bad stories like this
HOW is Legend of Korra worse?
That's because JoJo's kept the same writer (singular)
I can't trust millennial writing to not be incredibly cringe and unfunny. Not after all the series they ruin. This will not be on the same level as ATLA and TLOK methinks

At least it's gonna be fun to laugh at

This is pretty exciting! I've always wanted them to use the Dark Avatar in stuff, so I'm so happy.
If done right, this could be a huge and amazing story, but it completely just depends with who's writing this
Didn't know there was even gonna be a new series, but the more I hear about a post apocalyptic Avatar setting, the more pumped I am.

This sounds so boring
If this is how the series is actually going to continue I think I'm just going to stick to fanfiction
I want to see a fire nation born Avatar. I hope this does well...
Everything after Aang I hate it, everything happened to much in less than 1,000 years. Opening the spirit portals to the living world is stupid
That's why I wrote my own story tossed out Kora completely for someone else
You can't change what has happened, the show will still scale through with or without your opinion or hate @@princecharming8125
And they’re doubling down on the awful story telling and ret conning almost like their goal is to make the real original fans angry or annoyed
If the leaks are true, it looks like the world of avatar storytellers needs an apocalypse too.
If they made a Chaos Avatar cycle, they should have made it backwards, like Water > Air > Fire > Earth.
In order for both Avatars to be reincarnated as twins, Korra should've taken down at least two Chaos Avatars before passing away (maybe she and the Chaos Fire Avatar passed away at the same time), meaning that Nisha has four entities to draw advice from (Vaatu > Unalaq > Chaos Air Avatar > Chaos Fire Avatar), while Pavi only has two (Raava and Korra) :'v
Plus, they should be able to talk with both Spirits since they don't have that many past lives acting as filters, though to make things even I hope Pavi could restore her connections to at least Aang and Roku, that way both the Order and Chaos cycle would reach balance.
One problem, the OG Avatar could bend all four elements because said avatar was given bending by the various lion turtles. The Dark Avatar only had Waterbending due to being bound to Unalauq. Meaning they'd always be a waterbender.
Yes on the first one no on the second remember Vaato die he would have to be reborn out of Ravaa not reborn the natural wsy
@ no you don’t understand that Vaato died this is a new vaato reborn from Raava he has all four elements because he comes from Raava who has all four
@@bryanmcclure2220 Except we were explicitly told if Vaatu is destroy he won't reappear for 10,000 years. So him appearing contradicts the lore they established.
@ not in the show only by the writers who can change their minds
I think Korra, after what she's experienced, decided that dark and good should be seperated forever. Or she couldn't get these 2 together anymore. But either way, since her, there has been twins with avatars. It makes it also way harder for people to find them both. And the story can be made way more interesting to. But yeah we will see next year right xD
This might be a minor thing to gripe about, but I REALLY wish they made one of the twins a male to not only fully commit to this yin and yang situation theme they've got going on, but also to have two Avatar's completely mirror Aang and Korra.
I hope this is good. There were so many fan fiction ideas t hat were excellent. Avatar Studios I hope they don't screw it up.
im finna cry bro...
Excited for new Avatar content
Nervous that they mess it all up
Ah yes lets grab the worst season of Korra, redcon big parts of the beloved ATLA and base our new series on that. Great choice.
Ok, but that doesn't me this show can't be good. It is possible to make this concept into a good show.
@@gamingwitharlen2267 indeed but the chance it will be bad increased drastically.
This is gonna flop so hard that they’re gonna close Avatar studios
Wild prediction. Do you just enjoy being a baseless hater?
@ I’m not hating I love avatar more than anything else I’ve watched the show more than 7 times but the concept of the new show doesn’t make sense it doesn’t even feel like avatar and with the comments in this video I think alot of people agree with me
Nisha lighting bending would go hard
I never had any interest in watching a sequel series to Korra.
I think people are being a little too harsh, I’m gonna wait till it comes out and give it a chance
It's going to be the biggest pile of dogshit
@@Kumaa177 sounds like someone who’s never tasted a certain food but still claims it gross. You have to try it first before you can make a judgement
@@seektruthnow. i can see the ingredients i know it's going to be ass
Anyways this sounds fake to me and I am choosing not to believe any of it until I see a trailer, some promo, official footage, or official art proving that it’s real.
i agree, but i slowly accepting this as real. cant believe they would pull such fanfic stuff though, can only hope it doesnt retcon too much
Just spitballing here, but what if that’s what was happening to Korra by the end of her life and that’s what helped lead to the destruction of the world?
I'm gonna say both twins are good avatars and the reason why there's two now is out of necessity considering it's a post apocalyptic world one avatar's not gonna cut it this time around
I would honestly prefer this
Is there a petition to not make this happen? wtf is this bs dude
Maybe Korra became the dark avatar because of Vaatu reawakening and destroyed the 4 nations. She had to sacrifice herself to stop and that's how raava and vaatu split?
If explained and done right, this could be really cool
You mean like every show ever? Isn't that the basics of a good story?
Agreed
No it wouldn't. Season 2 was a flop particularly because of this.
in some mythos, twins also share one soul, Despite being 2 separate bodies.
Sooo, Korra fucked up so much that in the end the world did get destroyed.
Sounds in character ngl
How do you get that from she saved the world from an apocalyptic event
@@katejoseph6547 Idk, I guess it might be because there was damage that was already done and it was so bad that the four nations had to be split to 7 havens.
@@memoriesofthefuture4804 why do you believe she caused it
@@katejoseph6547 I’m not saying she caused it but she obviously didn’t stop it quick enough.
Damn I can’t believe they fell off this bad… all we wanted was more of the group with aang
A last Airbender gang in their early 20s.
We’re getting an adult gaang movie next year
But no one cares what you want tho..! If you were a real fan you’d know they have more sang content coming even tho we don’t fucking need it because his story is over and done. Who cares wyf you Want
Bro not everything has to the ATLA. This is what I hate about this community, you all never give a show the opportunity to shine.
@@jonahporia5925 I am happy that we are getting an Adult Aang movie, and for many fans, they need it. But some people all they want it ATLA for some odd reason.
I had an idea for the dark avatar to be reborn into someone else maybe an earth bender then fire Bender and seeing this thumbnail made me remember that
All of this is getting me super hyped for this new series!!
Dark Avatar is a fan of the Great Guru Laghima
But will be about good and evil in the end, Vaatu was cleary the bad guy in Korra's era and why will be different this time? Maybe the one with the dark spirit can be strong and don't to bad things but we all know that in the end Vaatu will be seen as villain and a part of something bigger than himself this "balance"
@@_AnnoyingPerson they can just make him the first dark spirit who feel out of balance with himself after he made the portals and thats why he's evil and spreads his "affliction" to other spirits then they can just find a way to ease his pain and return him (and technically raava since she would gets affected) back to normal
"I'm an earthbender."
"Im not!"
EXACTLY
They aren't based on yin and yang
@@hueyfreeman6262 They literally are. The first time we see them they are in a tussle that takes the shape of a Yin and Yang.
This new Avatar series is going to change everything that we know about the avatar and the Avatar cycle😮❤
If they want two avatars without involving Vaatu, they could pull a Calypso Twins from Borderlands 3. In that universe, only women can be sirens. The girl (Tyreen) was born as a siren - but because she was a siamese twin, her brother Troy also got some sirens powers, even tho much weaker.
But in this leak, it doesn't seem to be the case that the twins are conjoined.
I doubt they would include conjoined twins in a show largely for young audience
@bulat8362 well, there was Hundun.
@@insertname9736 Oh yeah, completely forgot about the game lol. Still think it's a bit dark for a kids show, worked perfectly for a game though.
Why are people do quick to judge/hate?
I find the idea of an evil avatar pretty interesting
Because of how bad the end of Korra Season 2 was. They tried the Dark Avatar idea and nearly killed the franchise.
Or, more generally, when a story uses the "dark version" line it's usually done as a cheap fodder enemy. There's been a few that have turned out alright but the majority of dark versions are in really awful adaptations.
What if their was a nuteral avatar like the nuteral avatar isn't on anyone's side but keeps everything balance
@@inuendo6365 They tried the Dark Avatar idea in the most braindead way possible and nearly killed the franchise*. For all we know the goal here is to redeem this and do way with the idea of the spirits as "good vs evil".
@@user-sl6gn1ss8p hence the second part of my comment about "dark" versions in other media. It's easy to jump to conclusions when literally hundreds of examples are terrible while only a few are actually good
@@inuendo6365 Fair enough. My point is just that this might actually be a way to backpedal the light vs dark theme into some more interesting territory
Though perhaps foolishly, I have hope ig 😅
