Quick side note stunt double/body Double they have is Oscar Isaacs brother so every time when they're hugging or together it's his brother.
Oh shit!!! Nice!!!
Makes the scenes more personal now
No way! That’s awesome!
This show, Oscar and Ethan better get some Emmy's for this.
I think Mark was trying to protect everyone and his heart is truly good. Steven was created to protect himself in times on emotional distress. Jake came about on Mark’s excursions as a mercenary because he truly didn’t have the heart to kill anyone until Konshu arrive, making Jake the one with all the blood on his hands
This is why the scales balanced for Mark. He’s the one true identity. His alters were all a means to an end because of the situations he got placed in.
Which do you consider to be the real you, your conscious, or subconscious mind? Alters aren't formed out of an external material and then amputated. They come from an individual's own (formerly unified) thoughts, feelings and experiences. Marc couldn't possibly be the 'true identity' because that would seem to imply that he, on his own, is still whole and unfractured while it's those OTHER alters that are damaged and in need of fixing.
But... how can they split off from the whole without leaving that whole fractured and in need of repair? This makes no sense.
Oscar Isaac’s acting was phenomenal in this episode
This series is just solid. You know its good if you are pulled in the story and its not just about a hero running around in a costume fighting.
Whoever says he can't act is dumb
Marc was trying to protect Steven from traumatic memories which is what alters do in real life, they alter certain parts of the memories so they won't remember the traumas, which is one of the most realistic representations of DID I have seen.
Why do you think Steven doesn’t remember his mom beating him? Marc knows it happened. I wonder how Steven was able to block out that incident.
@@amayajones68 Marc blocked it out of Steven's memory. Marc was the one that had to carry the memories of those traumatic events while Steven went along with his life not remembering the bad moments because of Marc blocking the traumatic memories from him in order to protect him.
@@antwanjenkins6735 Oh. That makes sense. Thank you.
@@amayajones68 No problem
@@amayajones68 people are saying he switched to Jake as he was the personality to actually take the beatings
Now we know what Harrow meant when he said Marc was in agony, because of the guilt he felt about the deaths of his little brother and his mother, as well as the deaths of Layla's father, Abdullah El-Faouly, and the other archeologists who died that fateful night 🥺😣😔.
Jake showed up this episode talking to Harrow and there were taxis in multiple places. Even if they don't spell it out before the end of the season, Jake definitely exists.
I saw that too in the beginning after Marc and Steven scream. The man that’s speaking to “Dr. Harrow” is speaking with a NY based accent and he has a scar on the bridge of his nose. Whereas, Steven and Marc don’t have that same scar. Also, at the end of episode 2 when Marc/Steven show up in Egypt in that motel room, he’s drinking wine and in the reflection it appears to be Steven but I think it’s actually both and Jake is in control for Konshu since he’s the more ruthless killer. Also the scene of Marc, Steven drinking from the flask might be Jake as well.
@@pitchking5496 hmmm interesting
The director discounted that theory.
@@kagani6202 oh really? Just wondering, what did Mr. Diab say?
@@kagani6202 and Andrew said he’s not Spider-Man👀
I believe that they mentioned in interviews that when Oscar has to do a scene with Marc and Steven, his younger brother would stand-in as either Marc or Steven, and then they'd switch to get the other side's footage
Am I the only one that love's this series.... MOON KNIGHT is a Tragic superhero.🥺🥺
Powerful episode
Not an easy task for the last episode to top this one.
Amazing show.
Mark means well man. His disorder just consumes him. The show runners did a hell of a job confusing the audience by which is real and which is fake.
@8:29 Unknown Man: “How did you get here?”
Dr. Harrow: “I took the bus.”
Unknown Man: “ **Snarling**”
I believe he’s snarling because of Harrow’s method of transportation; a bus. Not a taxi cab. 🚕 His face is also banged up like he’s been brawling. Taking hits and dealing them without the healing factor of Khonshu’s powers. Just an everyday man who disapproves of bus rides to work. Also speaking with a slight New York accent…
That’s Jake Lockley
I like how so many people didn't notice that Jake was introduced in the episode, it was really sneaky and great. The scene with the bloody nose ;) .
?
@@joker6-6 I dont think that was Jake. Harrow always addressed the personalities by their names. And he referred to him as Marc. And Marc remembered the conversation and remembered it later. I think Jake is the Mephisto of this show .... or Jake was a personality that Steven created and it died with him in the sands.
Oh someone else noticed the bloody nose! TY! He also had a NY accent and was seriously ready to use that crystal as a weapon.
@@Drifter_316 I'm with you
@@crandleberrysadie 🤦🏻♂️
that had to be jake in the beginning talking with Harrow. peep how every time marc is in the office, his face isn’t bandaged up and bloody as if nothing happened? and he wasn’t speaking with a normal American accent, more like a slight NY accent
The tearjerker section of TV Tropes says that, it's like he's lost his little brother, Randall, all over again, as well as a part of himself 🥺😣😔. Holding out hope that Steven comes back 🙏🤞.
Personally, i think the first scene of dr. harrow and what we believed is marc going crazy and trying to threaten harrow with the glass pyramid is jake. His accent is a bit different compared to marc and just the way he acted.
But idk, maybe im just reaching on that, but eitherway, what a fanatstic episode this is!
I agree. I said the same thing
I don’t think “Jake” was trying to threaten Harrow. He was trying to put the glass pyramid towards his face, I thought.
@@stormbringer795 "threaten" might be the wrong term but you get what i mean with him holding the glass pyramid 😅
@@stormbringer795 he was tryna threaten Harrow as he said “you’re gonna release that monster!”. I have a thought that after the orderlies grabbed him before he could do anything, he tried to hurt himself to “wake up”
i think jakes the one that suffers and holds out on the beatings,
>he doesnt remember her mom being abusive.
jakes the result of all the beating and fqed up things tht happened to him
I think Jake actually did made an appearance this episode
Jake is the rage
Yup he was the one talking to Harrow at the beginning, marc don’t act like that
When he said I feel like million bucks
They already showed Jake in that episode when he had the broken nose he's accent was completely different he talked differently he acted differently
11:50 Marc's first transformation as Moon Knight 🌙 was _EPIC_ 🤯!!
I really think that its 3rd/Jake talking to Dr. Harrow right before he gets drugged. The speech pattern didn't sound like Marc or Steven
I think Jake was the one sitting down with the broken nose. I think they represent Jake with blood. Just like how his tomb
Damn just rediscovered your channel just now and it’s been 6ish years when I watched your stuff, was 12 then. Wish I didn’t take things for granted then but, it is what is. Anyways god bless and godspeed broski
Fantastic episode. I foresee Marc breaking Jake out of the sarcophagus and going to town on Harrow's men to rescue Layla.
I really enjoyed this episode. Interesting revelations and Oscar is really good. A little too short though. Sweet potato fries SUCK!!
I don't know if they'll stick the landing, but this is my favorite mcu series so far.
The initial reaction that Jake killed their mother is a good example of the harm done by the film industry overutilizing the violent/evil alter trope. There IS overall a lot of positive representation of DID in this series (and I freaking love it for that), but people still have it ingrained in their minds that someone with this disorder HAS to have a 'Beast' or 'Gollum' or 'Jake' somewhere in the recesses of their mind, just waiting to be let out and wreak havoc.
Enlightening and sad episode. By the end of it you just wanted to give Marc a hug because of the trauma he suffered as a child. Give Oscar Isaac all the awards for his multilayered performance.
I've been told it's his brother who's his body double!
He is used in the shots where Mark and Steven interact.
"Now he's in Smallville." 🤣 I thought about the show rather than the movie.
9:17 Black Panther. Bast (Wakandan) and Bastet (Egyptian) but they're the same deity.
Oscar Isaac's brother was the stand in for the Marc/Steven scenes.
Glad to see i was somewhat right about them being in the Duat hopefully Jake comes and rescues Mark from Aaru
You both mentioned stand ins and how good the visuals are for the show and particularly this episode. Oscar has commented in a few interviews that his brother helped film some of these scenes. Im sure there were a combination of tools used to visually tell this story of duality. But I guess his brother has a similar physique that they could leverage to film some of this as well.
And as for Jake showing up. I think he’s around. The cab in the background of the scene with Marc and Steven outside the house at his mothers shiva. And in Harrow’s office…when “Marc” appeared with the broken, bloody nose. I think that was Jake. And I think the person who grabbed that glass pyramid was Jake too. jmo.
Those check from "WB" proof they show up on time 🗾
The Northman is amazing btw
Mephisto has company in
"He's going to be in this episode"....
JAKE....*ric *oss can hold his hand...
This is where the fun begins!!!!
There was a Return to Oz reference the deadly desert. You touch the sand you become the sand.
Well this episode broke my heart 🥲
@10:54 notice the drawing of a one fin goldfish that Marc’s brother draws.
I think because theres 3 there was an imbalance, and when steven “died” 2 was a balance. At least thats how i look at it
They better make a season 2
Has to be this series is so epic that you care about the superhero action but the powerful story.
Man this show rocks 🔥🔥🔥💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I like the idea of another personality in season 2......we can see whats he has been upto, his origin like how we saw Steve's origin and his conflicts with Marc, who by the end of this season will take Steve's role of stopping Jake from murdering everyone......plus a new villain
Oscar's brother is the stand in
Oscar Isaacs acting in this is insane!!!
Maybe Jake is created from different source than Steven. Steven from his mon, and Jake from his Mercenary days?
Jake's heart was not put on the scale to be weighed
Damn i cried so much 😭
They also want to keep it short and compact so that people can catch up when they see these characters in a team up movie.....
all the shows from disney+ MCU are 4 to 4.5 hrs(if you remove credits), that's actually the length of 2 movies compared to Netflix shows that were literally 10 hrs......plus they are already stretching a single movie budget to 2 movies.......they have to maintain MCU quality......all CGI work other than chase sequence from ep 1 has been upto the mark
All the mcu disney plus show i think are 5 or over 5 hours long even if you remove credits.
WandaVision, Loki, She-Hulk, and more Marvel shows’ runtimes and episode counts revealed quote-
WandaVision, meanwhile, is set to premiere the first two of its nine episodes on January 15 - and will each run at around 30 minutes. In total, the new Marvel TV shows on Disney Plus will amount to roughly 300 minutes each - meaning a five-hour runtime. Avengers: Endgame, eat your heart out.

@@TheCell111 bro.....call me a fanboy but I have an edit of all the shows as a movie nothing exceed 4.5 hr mark
Everyone wanted answers but god do I have to say that shit hurt bruh
Obi Wan is coming out on a perfect date. 25 May, 2022. The 45th anniversary of A New Hope’s release date
Nope, they delayed it by two days so they can release 2 episodes at once. Even though 2 days would do nothing considering the uploading they have to do too.
This was peak acting
I am aggressively unokay, but holy shit this is easily the best marvel anything ever conceived
Still waiting for Jacob can’t believe they haven’t shown him yet
Jake*
I've seen other people say that he's actually in the episode where "Marc" grabs the glass thing off the desk and starts talking in an NYC accent.
@@HellfireComms oh wow didn’t think about that
@@HellfireComms they won’t reveal him like that
Lol Jake was in the beginning talking with Harrell with the broken 👃. It's so subtle with the accent and when they sedated him in the neck
Ancestral plane that’s another connection to wakanda and black panther
The dead dragging you down like in the mummy returns and Imhotep died
Oh shit bushman
I wonder if moon knight will meet the sun king at some point.
I guess in a way Arthur is trying to help Steven away from khonshu I mean khonshu isn’t a good guy in the comics either actually manipulates Marc and tries to take over his body
So now are they establishing boundaries between themselves in his mind
He said very Ned Flanders lol okily dokily lmao
A deep dive here of self forgiveness and repressed memories
I think this is the second or third time Steven has done an act of violence
I think the third character was created recent that Mark couldn’t handle killing anymore that he created Jack to handle that but hopefully we will figure it out in the last episode
It could go back further than that. If Steven was created to love their mother instead of fear her, how could he not remember the beatings? I think once the abuse became physical, Jake manifested to handle it. I think that's why he's more violent. He was created to handle violence, so it's all he knows.
@@my5head another way to look at it for sure
HOLY FUCK I have that same Batman shirt!😆 Had..damnit 💔
Oscar Issac only signed on for moon knight he has no contract after this
I think that Jake is the Mephisto of this series. The scales would not have balanced had Jake still been in the picture .... unless Jake was a personality that Steven created and it died with him in the sand allowing Marcs scales to balance.
Could Jake have been his brother who died. Maybe if there is a Jake personality it represent pure rage and anger.
@@hamhockbeans his brother's name was Randall check the subtitles
What an episode
I hope they dont just use Jake as a post credit scene for final episode
14:08
He scored a six with a baseball bat
Am I the only one wondering why tf Anubis was replaced by Taweret?
Ethan hawke creepy and kinda sus as usual but man oh man.. Oscar Isaac really did a phenomenal job again in this episode
THERE IS NO NEXT SEASON.
This show needs more episodes. 8 would have been good. This show won't stick the landing .
Akasan's sense of humor smh during sad scenes in stuff is low key annoying
'Marc' my words, this show will not stick the landing. Maybe it will be good, but after this episode I have no faith the final can wrap everything up.
As if that matters. People need to stop treating the finale as everything or nothing.
How much is there to wrap up? There’s not a lot. This is a character based show
@@Mehdz03 Steven dying (which means there’s also no Mr knight), Jake still hasn’t been introduced only teased so he has to show up, konshu being brought back from imprisonment so Marc can return as moon knight, meet up with Layla and tell her the person she started to fall in love with is dead, stop Amit and Harrow from killing people and then give a satisfying conclusion to Marc character.
@@HellfireComms but that’s how it should be treated. A tv show should NOT be treated as like “oh it’s fine if his story is unfinished, rushed, and needs more time to develop, because he’ll show up again in avengers vs morbius 69 so we can grow his character more there.” These Disney plus shows have all been wrapped up in an unsatisfactory way, why would this be any different?
This can continue in the movies....
