There's only 1 episode left btw, there's 6 in total
We haven't seen Jake Lockley yet (or have we?) I think Marc created Jake Lockley not Steven in that room as a child to deal coping with his Mother beating him. Steven doesn't remember that and seems to remember a loving Mother not a cruel one as we see Marc turn to Steven start to talk on his cell outside the funeral to his Mother not realizing there is no answer. Also we have seen in this episode not just Marc and Steven talking to Doctor Harrow in the Asylum but possibly Jake (the patient with the broken nose) as well. His name has not been said yet but it's been implied he's been there.
5:21 that's the third personality, Jake Lockely
i just have to say thank heavens! no one tried to make any avengers or dr. strange movies or this, moonnight before current times. they are all such works of art and you can tell that so much love has been put into these finished products. the makers are such obvious fans of the written word and care so much about how it’s presented. I’m excited that they waited on this and how this story turned out.
I totally blame the dad for not watching the kids when they were outside playing. I mean the abuse woukd have not happen if the dad was watching them
Oscar Isaac really deserves a truckload of awards for this episode. I honestly forgot he was playing both characters!
He’s amazing
3 characters. It's obviously Jake who has the bloody nose
Yeah, this episode alone can already get tons of awards
For the whole season each episode is 9/10 or better
So many emotional switches!! The psycho grin at the beginning and the slapping himself in resistance were both so powerful!! It really made you feel for this broken man… 🥲
This and I can’t stress enough is the most powerful piece of dramatic acting I’ve seen in marvel
This show has blown away my expectations. If I've said it once, I've said a million times. Go watch Ex Machina immediately.
@@John_Locke_108 a lot of the movies I have seen because the actors are in marvel studios movies and I go and see other movies they are in six degrees of separation
By far the best episode of any Disney plus show, the really depressing episodes tend to be my favourite of these shows. I don’t know what that says about me as a person but they just feel so real. Oscar Isaac is amazing.
this series benefits from Marvel allowing it t get so dark and the tinge of the horror the show puts you through is so unique compared to any other marvel series or movie.
I am extremely curious how Moon Knight gets mixed in with the rest of the MCU. Who will he meet first and will his dark demeanor continue on with whatever he appears in? im excited for sure
@@xxraptorxx8180 Usually the most depressing episodes of shows are the ones that showcase the most. Drama is what pushes a story and a show forward, and this episode was a perfect example of that. All it says about you as a person is that you are completely normal and can acknowledge the best parts of shows.
Oscar Isaac deserves every award out there.
Glad to hear Ubbe is getting better.
Now I see why marvel studios need Disney plus to extend the stories
@@damaruslove8688 I kinda hope they lean more into series, because it give them more room to let things breathe and can build deeper stories.
@@foulrot not that they have more obscure characters they can
Absolutely
@@damaruslove8688 Extend stories or limit them only to 6 episodes?
The fact that Marc was fine by letting Steven believe his mother was alive, he didn't want Steven to be involve in his life as the *First of Vengeance* and he was gonna let Steven be the main alter, to live the life Marc could never have. But now, Steven is in the duat and Marc went to the field of reeds, both ended up in the opposite place that Marc wanted. Just tragic.
Steven not making it to the Field of Reeds makes the girl's statement about that to him in episode 1 a lot more prophetic.
*Fist
@@wolffontech how? He never got rejected he just fell accidentally
I wonder if this was a metaphor for Marc putting Steven (and the trauma from his mom) to rest.
@@noyoso4972 He was rejected. The whole reason the rejected souls were dragging him and Mark off the ship was because they were rejected from the Field of Reeds for not having.balanced the scales. Mark alone (with the possible addition of Jake, who we may have seen briefly this episode) were accepted once Steven was gone because that act balanced the scales.
For some who may be wondering why Moon Knight hasn't been confirmed for a second season, it has to do with Emmy nominations. Marvel has submitted Moon Knight for Emmy consideration in the limited series category. If a second season were announced the show couldn't be submitted in that category. Like the show or not, one thing is abundantly clear, Oscar Issac is devouring this role and his performance deserves to be recognized.
WandaVision: "I am the master of emotional trauma"
Loki: "Witch please"
Moon Knight: "Hold my purified spring water"
Yup. Phase 4 so far is basically just a trauma zone. It's certainly a running theme so far throughout all the shows.
also potential of Bruce Banner X Hulk's DID in She-hulk? 🥲
When you have shows like Moon Knight, Loki or Wandavision that have so much heart, shows like She-Hulk and Ms Marvel can't keep up even with great actors in them tbh...
This is a real disorder called dissociation identity disorder(DID) and normally the person has childhood trauma and their mind breaks into multiple personalities or alters which helps cope with the trauma. They experience different memories and characteristics and even can be different genders. It’s a real thing
The brain is such a magnificent thing, to split the mind into different personalities to protect somebody’s mental state is amazing
Another great show featuring DID is Mr Robot, and that's even more mind bending than Moon Knight. The final few episodes of Mr Robot were more insane than this was.
It just really sucks to watch a child get broken like that.
general consensus currently is that the alters aren't just alternate "personalities" but rather fully independent beings who happen to share a brain. Like the brain is running two actual consciousnesses in parallel as a self defence mechanism as neither individually could handle the burden of their trauma.
@Sorcha Sorley An analogy I found helpful was to imagine a person's personality as a plate in a Kiln. As a person goes through their childhood, they'll have a cohesive singular personality, a whole plate. But a DID person, because of repeated trauma and abuse(How DID develops), it'll end up cracked, the personality fragments. The fragments, in this analogy being the alters.
Not a 1:1 analogy, since the different alters are still essentially separate entities that are people in their own right. But it does help visualize why there's no "Original" Alter, and how much more fragile our mind is when early in life, since before firing, pottery is _very delicate_.
DID starts during childhood with traumatic events such as child abuse. This show is doing a great job at showing an accurate depiction of DID.
Steven was always is own person, with his own soul. The goddess grabbing Steven's heart alongside Marc's confirmed that. I think Marc doesn't see Steven as a made up person. I think he will return, we're too invested in him, he's everyone's favorite. Loved your reaction.
he defo dead because if he wasnt then marc's scales wouldnt have balanced
Well he's a mainstay in the comics so most definitely.
No true. Steven was created. He was just an extension of marc made into physical form. Marc wasn’t born with DID. He developed it.
@@denni8271 My theory is that the scales had 2 hearts when it actually needed 3 (Jake), so when Steven "died" it became balanced. Two hearts for the two remaining alters. I don't think he's gone forever or that actual integration happened
Wasn’t always his own person as you can see he got developed through Marc’s traumatic past…and no he isn’t everyone’s favorite.
The girl in the first episode inside the museum mentioned about Steven being rejected from the field of reeds and that's actually what ended up happening. I wonder what that was all about
Yeah.. I'm rewatching the entire series again and there are things like that that now have context.
Foreshadow
she was probably an Avatar.
Interesting theory I heard was that she was the avatar of Anubis. Which now makes sense.
I was trying to figure out if she had a reflection or anyone interacted with her or even acknowledged that she costed. If not then it was in his head.
It's more tragic than that with Steven on the phone thinking he's talking to his mother. He never dials a number or otherwise accesses any kind of speed dial. He
always just immediately puts the phone up to his ear.
I think Jake was the version who was all beaten up. He’s the first guy in the office. He looks confused. He is totally beaten up. He gets crazy violent. And just before we see him, Marc and Steven were still in the hallway with the goddess. He even had a slight NY accent. Maybe Jake has been seen before and we assumed it was Marc…like the one who killed all the town people in episode one. But I’m betting Steven is still there. When the scales balanced, there were still two hearts on the scale. But now they’re both in balance. Marc became the vulnerable one, and Steven became the hero who sacrificed himself.
It’s definitely Jake which is why he’s the last to get out of the sarcophagus because he’s been injected, angry ready to kill
I think Jake was created to TAKE the beatings. Marc had to deal with the guilt and Steven to live the ideal fantasy of a loving mother. This also would make Jake the toughest and most dangerous of the 3.
Not gonna lie, this episode opened my childhood traumas wide open, wheew! What a mind trip.
Yeah, same. :-/
Hope you're doing better now
@@BlueSparkzVideos oh I am ok now thanks. From time to time I need to cry anyways.
I love how Taweret's ears wiggle every once and awhile, it's cute
she's adorable. Hippos are so adorable until you remember they are territorial as hell and are probably one of the most unhinged and terrifying animals out in the wild
Remember in episode 1 where the little girl at the museum asked Steven:
"And did it suck for you, getting rejected from the Field of Reeds?”
And of course at the end of this episode Steven did not make it to the Field of Reeds.
I love Taweret so very, very much. Only her adorableness kept me together this ep.
yeah, imagine how heavy this ep will be if Anubis is the one who guide them. 😂
@@muhammadtarunaaldiramadan248 anubis wouldnt have thought twice 💀
There is a theory online that the mysterious third alter, aka Lockley, IS in this episode, in the first scene with Harrow, because "Marc/Steven" is speaking with a New York accent instead of the Chicago one Marc does and is clearly unhinged.
Also, his face was bruised and his nose bandaged where Marc's was not.
@@TheOtterBear61 - that too, but there's so much dissociation going on I didn't really put it together how off "Marc" was at first and assumed it was part of whatever the illusory asylum is supposed to be.
@@ItsMeBarnaby - Good God, that's right, it's the old Rule of Three - assuming that's true, of course.
He did sound and look different which I picked up quickly but didn't think it was Lockley while watching the episode. Now I kinda think it might be. The only thing is how did Lockley know about the Hippo? Unless it's seeded into the subconscious with each personality? 🤔
@@brettpenning - I mean, given they are all the same person it's reasonable to assume Lockley would be aware of what was going on, but for some reason Marc and Steven aren't fully aware of him - given that Lockley is the most dangerous alter, one that has a brutality even Marc finds abhorent, it's not unreasonable to assume that it's a single-blind situation.
My favourite Oscar performances this episode: When Marc broke down in front of Steven, not wanting to relive his past trauma, Marc crying on the ground and switching to Steven, and then the scene where Steven had to face the fact that their mother's dead and he was fighting back tears while staring at the phone. Phenomenal!
In regards to the "comic accuracy" question:
-This show is *very* faithful to the characters (for the most part), but most of this plot is kind of original. Bits of it have been done in the comics, but I don't think there's a single arc this story falls under.
-One character that is different is the main villain, Harrow. In the comics, he's a one-off F Tier baddie, which is exactly why he was chosen for the show, so they could do something original.
Pretty crazy that the least traumatizing scene was a hippopotamus ripping the heart of two Oscar Isaacs.
Oscar at the start had those wounds on his face. I think that that was 'Jake', and that he is the alter who had to endure the beatings to protect Marc and Steven.
The hippo goddess looks so adorable omg
I think the reason why ethan hawke being the villain/doctor that is so persistent on "curing" Marc and coincidentally Steven's fate of being trapped in the desert was what needed to enter the good afterlife, is a metaphor for how old mental institutions were focused on "fixing" people with mental illness. the doctor knows that by eliminating steven, marc will be in the afterlife and can't stop ammit in the real world. its like how treating schizophrenic patients with lobotomy was still accepted just a few decades ago.
Today it is generally known that people with trauma and or mental illness have to learn live with their condition. There is no "real personality" to a person with DID, they are all equally aspect of the self. So at some point, Marc is going have to save Steven, and or maybe even learn about the third alter's existence...
you mean jake???? im convinced that scene in the beginning where marc had a broken nose was actually jake lockely. The accent the anger nd aggression. Its totally him
Noticing so many things upon rewatching the episode: Marc didn't even have other kids come to his birthday parties, likely directly tied to his brother's death.
In the end, he had to forgive himself for the thing which started it all, because that thing helped him come to self acceptance and self actualization. Chef's kiss.
Oscar Issac deserves an award for this portrayal. What a masterclass in acting
Steven you pointed out that his mom wasn’t there for birthday but that was just 2 birthdays we saw…. She was mentally and physically abusing him for 364 days a year for like 15 years 👺😣🤯 it’s no wonder his mind cracked.
-Could protect little brother
-Mom hates/beats him
-Father stands by/turns a blind eye (he can’t rely/trust his father)
It makes sense that he has to create a friend and he only has himself 🤕🪞
I highly recommend reading the Lemire run that this is partially based on. The original run had a lot of Batman vibes but later runs are very focused on his mental health. His mental health was always a major part of all runs he was in but I’m glad they’ve been more empathetic and respectful of it in the modern runs.
yes! they are pulling heavily from his run and it’s being really well translated!
This episode really brought me a lot of emotions! Oscar Isaac is amazing actor! He deserves every award!
I love that technically even those Steven is the shy one when he gets into situations he does have his moments of no fear like when fighting the invisible creature the only really let Mark take over to protect the civilians
While Oscar is doing really good, Ethan Hawke as Harrow has been a 6.5 for me(nothing too outstanding, but a well justified villain).. but Dr.Harrow!
Just like Oscar goes between Marc/Steven, I really feel Dr.Harrow genuinely cares for his patient, and without the malicious intent of Arthur, Ethan really gets a chance to shine as more of a reflection of a possible past psychiatrist in Marc's mind, while still maintaining those dark malicious undertones, and all within only a few short dialogues. These last few episodes have really made me appreciate his performance and I hope to see where he goes in the final episode!
Great reaction as usual!
That's very true
this episode was an emotional nuke they just dropped on us for no reason.
Feige told us this series was gonna be dark & heavy, we all assumed it was going to be violent and they smacked us over the heads with emotional damage instead.
@@foulrot no joke, this was some heavy shit.
You don't get DID without severe childhood trauma.
@@sarahlyon157 I had childhood trauma too , but I was never aware that it can cause DID , but I have my dark times also , severe depression and alcohol abuse for years...thank god I didn't develop DID , looks scary
@@die4race not everyone with trauma has DID, but everyone with DID has traumatic childhoods. Sometimes it's growing up in war zones or in major natural disasters. Other times it's stuff like Mark's - abuse mixed with traumatic events. It's usually repeated, rather than one-off events.
AMAZING episode! I thought WandaVision really went out there, but this tops it IMO. I appreciate how deep they delved into the mentality of Marc’s past trauma and the long lasting impacts
What an amazing episode. Steven had to die for Marc to survive. The background on Marc was so sad. Oscar acted the absolute hell out of this.
Hey guys. Love your stream. Recommend you two rewatch the first 5 minutes with the scene in Dr. Harrow's office. That person was neither Mark nor Steven. Listen to the accent in the voice. If you hear you pick up a north east accent like NY or Boston. Plus you cited how messed up his face was but only in that scene. I believe that was the 3rd personality.
Damn, y’all must have special hearing cause he was grumbling in that scene… would’ve never heard that kind of accident shift.
@@NikkiStevenReact I’m from Bronx NY so heard the accent easily.
Glad to see someone else who picked that up. His behavior was also clearly different than Marc’s when we see Marc in the 2nd Harrow scene this episode. Each Harrow scene featured a different Alter.
@@NikkiStevenReact I felt like it was easy to hear when "Marc" said he felt really great. I felt like you could hear that accent.
Incredible & heartbreaking.
I think (and pray) Steven will be back in the last ep - with DID (from what I've researched, I don't have DID so pls take my opinion with a pinch of salt) an alter doesn’t just ‘die’ or ‘disappear’ when they go with integration treatment (good communication between alters, an acceptance of a system, less/no blackouts when switching etc) . If they want to go with final fusion (merging experiences, traits etc), it takes years and years, a lot of work and a readiness to fuse - Steven didn’t look at all ready when he fell off that boat and introducing the third alter and then fusing in the same ep without a chance for the character to breathe would be a weird choice for me. I don't think I'd be mad if they did it as fusing is a valid treatment, I'd just miss Steven and Marc as separate entities, especially with Oscar saying that Steven is autistic so I don't know why they'd do that when the character is so important and unique.
Either way I need 3 - 5 business days to recover excuse me while I return to my sobbing fest
Thought the saying was “with a grain of salt”
@@luisramos3337 so did I till I googled it 😂
@@eyupitsbecky Iv heard both but also I don't have DID either or know mutch so I might be ignorant as mutch as I also want Steven back are we also in a way hoping that Marc doesn't recover but like you said a alt dosent just disappear but I think it's better in real life for a person to will not become a whole new person
@@RaNgErs_Rep Marc can absolutely recover and still have Steven back in something called healthy multiplicity - where alters exist together in a healthy way & confront trauma instead of hiding from it
They're definitely doing their own thing with this series, but they are also pulling a lot from the comics as well to create this unique version of the story.
You two are the best reaction. Nikki had it the second he said "It's not mom". That disassociation is unnatural and visceral. Again Marvel better at addressing issues than every other show.
This episode really hit close to home for me… I suffer from depression and really bad anxiety in almost every aspect of my life…
I don’t have much family and I’m basically the black sheep.. my mother wasn’t that great of a person so this whole episode was hard for me.
Yes I, too have depression and deep trust issues. I love & miss my mom, but she unwittingly had a hand in issues. She was not mentally ill to the point of physical trauma, but she had emotionally abandoned me from me going into puberty until I became grown enough to stand up to her.
Ant, I wish the best for you. Sometimes, the road to wellness can be a rough trek, but can also be a healing adventure. Peace.
Brutal. Absolutely brutal and beautiful. I cried through most of it.
Edit addendum: I really like that there was a PSA at the end of the episode for NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Health assistance website address. I'm glad they did that, very responsible, mindful and caring.
I love how Disney+ manages to put an Avengers: Infinity War moment into every series so far. First they bait you, then they break you, and in the end you enjoyed even the breaking.
This was such a glorious piece of writing. I've honestly never rewound scenes so much on anything. This episode broke me down honestly. Such a beautiful piece of writing.
Besides from the obvious, the acting, the music in this show is absolutely phenomenal
yeah and you know the credits song of this episode is from an Egyptian movie called "the night the moon cried"
I'm happy that they're getting a better understanding of how the alters work, it didn't feel like you guys were that knowledgeable on the topic before, but this episode did (as someone who doesn't have DID, but knows somewhat how it works) a good job at showcasing how someone might develop it. It's basically a coping or survival mechanism for repeated childhood trauma, first he lost his brother and then his mom abused him, awful awful stuff. Through Steven, Marc was able to escape those memories.
as someone who had both sides of a mother like this.... this episode hit me deep so much so that I couldn't stop crying for half an hour... my father left when I was born and my mom was stuck raising the child that almost killed her from birth on her own... when I was a child she let her boyfriends beat me over the smallest mistake I say boyfriends because she couldn't keep a relationship... she often turned to drink and chainsmoking. One particular instance where she actually beat me was when I messed up her incense candles by accident... she took my batman piggy bank and threw it full force at my leg busting open my knee... I cried for a hour straight. her friends used to burn me with cigarettes and try to get me to smoke or drink. it wasn't until her final boyfriend arrived that she started changing... after years of being abused by boyfriends and letting me be abused she finally started to care... her last boyfriend often put me down and yelled at me over the smallest things... a example being if I didn't like a certain food he'd try and force me to eat it then yell at me when I didn't and if I did and started gagging he still yelled at me... he would then force me to do everything... handwash dishes even though we had a dishwasher that worked, do the laundry, fix their bed (even though they mostly slept on a couch... id rather not think about why their bed was always messed up), walk the dog and clean up dog crap (even from the neighbor's yard), mow lawns, smash furniture he didn't want anymore, clean up his messes, and much... much more... all while he berated me about not doing certain things right or not making something good enough then he'd mess it up and tell me to start over. My Mom would check on me from time to time and even get me out of some of the work. He even ignored most of the things I was actually supposed to learn... like for example... learn how to drive... I never got my learner's permit... im almost 20... I dont know how to manage a bank account... how a paying job works... (I work as a volunteer at a haunted house called spook haven and it is really good work experience.. without that I would still be fumbling not knowing how to provide for myself or anyone else). most life lessons I learned were either from experience, offline, from a video game, or on rare occassions from my mom or him. My mom was so unbelievably broken she felt like nothing without him so the mental strain continued... my anger grew and I wanted to hurt him so bad.... but I found other ways to focus that anger... I learned how to fight... I taught myself martial arts and boxing. im getting a little off topic but my point is... my life wasn't peachy my parents couldn't even be called parents most of the time... it wasn't until my mom died that I was finally free.... she had been through multiple car accidents... she had to have feeding tubes run through her body and she had almost died multiple times... it was april of last year when she finally went to rest... I never got to say goodbye... my emotions were so fucked I didn't know how to process it aside from playing video games... I didn't cry until a month later.... I was orphaned at 18... she never got to see me graduate... she never got to see me turn 19... she wont be there for my first drink when I turn 21... she wont meet her grandchildren when / if I meet my significant other... I miss her and despite her many flaws I loved her she was my mother.... and unlike my father she actually stuck around... she could've taken the easy out and put me in adoption to be raised by possibly worse people. I live my gram now and my brother is planning on helping me with job resumes and getting my learner's permit / driver's license whenever he gets the chance.... I have so much pain and so many storys to tell about it... I dont doubt I could write a novel at this point... I just hope I get my life together soon and I swear to my future children that they will never have to feel a fraction of the pain I had growing up.
Every Disney+ series so far has had THAT episode that had me crying. Yup, this one got me.😭
I’m pretty sure that was Jake (the third personality) in the first scene with Harrow, the one that gets sedated. I don’t even know how I didn’t realize how different Oscar Isaac acted from both Marc and Steven. He has like a Brooklyn accent and his eyes and facial/body expressions are very different. He’s also more violent than both of the others as he was gonna stab himself in the eye.
I think that Jake is the one who would come in and protect Marc and Steven from the beatings their mom did to them, which would explain why Steven doesn’t remember their mom being abusive. And it would explain why he’s the most violent one
*EASTER EGG/PARALLEL*
The way Steven turned into a statue looks almost identical to the way Crawly sits on the bench near the fountain like a solid statue!
Even the hand gesture is similar and both act as a 'stressball' to someone else!
Interesting how Mark has developed an almost supernatural ability to bury things, and fights in a costume similar to a mummy(also something that’s “buried”), yet his alter ego(and his wife) loves digging things up. Mark hides from the past, while Steven constantly forces him to face it.
Kinda makes sense that Steven’s last act was to “find” what Mark needed to be saved, which was ultimately a part of himself.
Dude... I just got done watching this episode.
It was so heavy, depressing, heartbreaking and emotional. I cried a few times.
That ending left me both angry and hurt! That REALLY upset me!!
Rsndom trivia: The personality out during the initial talk with Harrow was almost certainly Jake. Pay attention to his entire demeanor. He doesn't speak act or have body language like the other two.
Also, props to this series for not trying to excuse a female abuser. You /never/ see that in a mainstream series these days.
@Rick King 22 You almost never see female abusers... and if you do, they try to excuse it. Case in point: Wandavision.
There’s plenty of female abusers in shows and movies. Mother Gothel, The aunt in Perks of Being A Wallflower, Marianne’s mother in Normal People, Amy Dunne in Gone Girl, Tony Soprano’s mother, Bojack Horseman’s mother, the list goes on, and that’s just from the top of my head. Granted it might not be something you see in the likes of an MCU property, but that’s just because most MCU shows and movies avoid this kind of psychological drama altogether. I can’t think of any off the top of my head that goes out their way to excuse female abusers to be honest
@@flightdub6056 Shush, you're interfering with the narrative.
Can’t believe there’s only one episode left 😭😭
This episode took me back to some dark places, could not stop crying, had to come back to it , wow this show and all the actors, and writers 💯❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The reaction I wait all day for.
Khonshu's words to Marc when he's making the deal with him are pretty much what he says to him in the Lemire run. Also, Marc remembering all of the past people he's killed did happen in the comics as well. In the classic Moench run his other personalities reminded him of the sins of his past. I say personalities because in that context he didn't have DID. He heavily devoted himself to Khonshu because he believed by serving this god of justice he could cleanse himself of his sins.
So... Question. Steven asked Tewaret to tell Layla to free Konshu. Is it possible that Steven is now a crystal statue and Marc is safe in the field of reeds and the alter neither of them knows about stayed on the boat and has gone through Osiris's gate with Tewaret to help Layla because in the end, he's the really tough one? When Konshu is freed he'll resurrect Marc and Steven, but for now they're safe.
Yes to all of this. Exact same thoughts I had.
Yep, I think you got it, Jake made it through with Tewaret and will save Mark and Steven.
@@OsOl0K0_ttvI assume that there's not a third personality otherwise how did the scales balance? There was an entire heart missing.
@@John_Locke_108 - I’m thinking Jake is buried so deep even Marc doesn’t know he’s there. And if Marc doesn’t realize it, no one else does either.
@@lovinlorne Ahright. That makes sense.
The golden sun represents mark finding peace with himself and finally believing that he wasn't to blame..for some people watching this episode it will be like going to an extreme AA meeting if you get me 😊
Peacemaker to Marc: You're so dark. Are you sure you're not from the DC universe?
I knew coming into this having already seen this that Nikki was going to be emotional having so much of the episode revolve around kids. & she didn’t disappoint. I love your guys content & the fact you actually have intellectual & emotional reactions. Keep it up guys
I’m not much to cry during Movies/Shows but this episode was omg 😭 I could not hold nothing back. Mark my words, Oscar Isaac is going to get an award for this role.
Give oscar all the awards holy crap
I'm not going to lie, this episode effed me up! I really hope we get Steven back by the end of the finale.
Yeah. Steven is a good character and he also a funny guy.
I was nervous for Nikki for this episode. Feel bad I wasn’t as nervous for Steven cause obviously he was really affected also.
I was worried about both of them....but especially Nikki.
I think the broken nose talking to "Dr.Harrow" is actually the guy in the coffin last episode cuz his accent is different and Steven and Marc's nose are completely fine.
Marvel: Hey you experience grief before right? Wanna experience it again?
That was the third personality, Jake, in the beginning when he was talking to Harrow and had the cut on his nose. Sounded like a Brooklyn accent. He had a bandage on his nose in the comics.
And yet weirdly enough hardly any reactors seemed to spot that?
@@Silver-rx1mh Yeah, seemed so obvious to me.
Not sure if this was already mentioned, but I feel like the scales have already balanced because Marc has finally faced his traumas, and why he created Steven.
It's also the reason why I don't think Steven will be back again. I've read that one of the treatments for DID patients is accepting their trauma and why they created alters in the first place. Then they accept that they no longer need the alter in order to move on and live a normal life.
Marc created Steven as a coping mechanism to protect himself from the abuse. Up to the very end, Steven protected him. But now that Marc has accepted his trauma and that what happened wasn't his fault, he no longer needs the Steven alter.
Such great story telling! Phenomenal acting and top notch writing! Love this episode and your reactions too 💯💯
Just like for Mark, Steven is here to save us from all the heavy emotions using his comedy, like after we knew he was Mark's stress ball (according to Steven) he does the same for us in meeting Dr. Harrow.
I love what they did with the story, I love how things going. Amazing episode, great acting and stuff BUT they better bring Steven back LOL
I haven't met a single person so far that hasn't had the EXACT SAME reaction as y'all to this episode.
Oscar Isaac is such a fantastic actor! The way he weaves comedy and emotion together is just so awesome! He deserves an Emmy!
Retroactively the Academy has now began saying the Oscar is named because of Mr. Isaac's performance 😆 👏🏽
Enjoy your reaction videos. This episode really reminded me of the Mr. Robot series, which also deals with mental health, identity disorder. Very emotional journey with Moonknight.
Oscar Isaac has became my favorite actor in the MCU.
A truly brilliant episode, and I agree with Steven- Oscar Isaac SHINES here. I mean through the whole show, but I’m this episode in particular…wow.
you know an actor is special when he can introduce you to a scene with 2 characters being performed by the same person but you don't stop and think for 1 moment that all they did was record him performing twice and spliced the footage together
I'm pretty sure we've already seen the third personality, particularly in this episode, in the scene where he's being tranquilised. That was neither Marc nor Steven. His deminer changed, his accent took on a New York twist, his mouth was tight, his whole body was tense. Where did the cuts on his face come from? Plus, I don't think Marc would've tried to use a sharp, pyramid paperweight as a weapon. I hope that was him and I wasn't just imagining it.
I said exactly the same thing when I watched it. I just sat there going to my other half "I don't think that's Mark... 🤔"
This was so heart wrenching to watch, because you know some children do have to deal with traumatic experiences and child abuse of one kind or another. Whenever you see or hear about such cases it rips your heart out. I do think there was some healing that took place in this episode though. I think Marc is a more whole person because of it, but at the same time I think more personalities will emerge if the show continues past this season. One of things I know about Dissociative Disorder is that new personalities can emerge at any time for any number of reasons.
This is a highly emotional episode. It reminds of that episode in Wandavision when Agatha forced Wanda to face her past.
Oscar Isaac is unbelievable. When he was in Starwars, I liked him but in this programme I love him. His transitions from one guy to another is seemingly. This episode answered a lot of questions. Can't wait for the next episode.
A superb performance from Oscar Isaac, and a brilliant exploration of the ancient Egyptian Duat (netherworld/afterlife), where all the sins, failings & regents of your life would be held in judgement against you.
I applaud Disney for using this episode to shine light on mental health. Steven was a coping mechanism in the form of split personality to help compartmentalism his trauma since childhood.
So happy sweet Ubbe is doing well. I really love this episode and this show! Great reaction you 2🥰
I am blown away by the insight, fearlessness and imagination of this episode - and the show as a whole.
Oscar Isaac's performance is one of the best I've ever seen in a television series, ever.
So many amazing layers to this show and the performances. No idea how they are going to wrap this all up in one more episode!
I think we had a glimpse of the third personality. In the doctor's office when he grabbed the statue like a weapon. There was something different about how he played it.
7:45 my favorite part is when hearing that Marc and Stevens
souls would be judged, Nikki just goes "uh oh..."
Nikki & Steven: This has been such a fun show.
Moon Knight: Yeah, about that…….the fun shits over!!
When y'all were describing things as "fun" during the intro I was like "oh noooo"
*Marc/Steven's and Wanda's character arcs both very similar in this episode, as Steven, he gets to uncover the dark trauma marc went through that led Steven to be created, while Wanda faced all the trauma she endured, and uncovered the truth on how her hex was created. Both of these characters suffered through so much, they needed an escape and blocked out their traumas in one way or another. For marc, it was the creation of Steven, for Wanda, the creation of the hex*
Tonight's ending of Steven not making through the Underworld was foreshadowed in episode one when the little girl in the museum asked Steven "And did it suck for you? Getting rejected from the Field of Reeds?".
The acting was so good, this man Isaac is killing it.
I wanna hug Steven and Marc
Steven is such a pure of heart
i gotta be honest i cried so much. so strong movie episode
Hell yeah, finally! My peoples... What's good I've been patient, and you have answered with the quickness. Love yah!
Steven you really are missing out on Halo. It's right up your alley brother. It's like Punisher/Wolverine and The Expanse all rolled up into one. Trust me it's good stuff.
@@arrticz I'm loving it. why don't you like it? is it too different from the game for you?
Awesome reaction as usual, Nikki & Steven.
Can't wait for the return of "Ozark" in 2 days !!!
28 days - "Obi-Wan Kenobi"
30 days - "Stranger Things"
37 days - "The Boys"
42 days - "Ms. Marvel"
They should've called this episode "Content Warning". That was rough. And one of the best episodes of Marvel ever.
I really had the feels during this episode
The last song you hear is a famous Christian song that is sung at funerals. It basically says "Beyond the sun, I found a place, a very special place far beyond the sun."
I have to say, the Loki series, I thought played a huge role in my personal life on the outside spectrum, but this show is probably the literal form of my own personal life and vendettas. If I ever got a chance to meet Oscar Isaac in person, it will truly be an honor. This episode was truly magnificent, emotionally driven and just fully transcendental and out of this world. After the episode ended. I just bawled my eyes out. What an impact this show is.
