I share your joy my noisy friend! It was all worth being attacked by a Sith Lord in the process. I must say though, that my favourite part was the easy removal of the router's return spring. I'm in the cheapo-router-bench situation, and will be for the foreseeable future, but this gave me a few ideas to improve mine. Cheers Goran, God's blessings and love to you both.
Nice to see you back on the channel Mark! I made do with the old router screwed up side down in my bench for quite a while. Has it's limitations though. Cheers and all our love to you and the lady from the hardware store.
Thank you James! This is a beast. And I have a 12mm (1/2 inch) collet for it. So it can take quite large bits. I really liked your way of using that 3D-printed frame to pattern rout the recess. I was in a "get it done" mood though. And to be honest, I still havent figured out the tolerances of my printer yet. Cheers and thanks for looking in.
Love this video. Saving for a router lift. May I ask you why you use gloves? I wouldn’t wear gloves near any spinning tool, in case they get caught in the blade & drag more of my hand into danger.
Hi Denis! If I were to "start over" I would go for a dedicated router and lift, rather than this solution. But it seemed like a good idea at the time. I really don't think I saved any money doing it this way. I often get asked about my bad habit of wearing gloves while using machines. While I am aware of the risk involved, I still feel I get a better grip and work more confidently wearing gloves. Thanks for watching and commenting! And hope to see you back on the channel. Cheers.
@@NomadMakes I’ve been subscribed for quite a while. Did I hear you being mentioned on the Shop Sounds Podcast recently. Twice? Good luck with Patreon. Sorry, I can’t help you there.
No worries, mate! Better spent on that new router lift. Let me know what you end up going for. Did the guys on Shop sounds give me a shout out? Cool. I am not up to date on that one. Do you remember what episode?

Good on you for getting a plate/router combo. The router looks to be plenty powerful.

@@NomadMakes Your method was certainly faster...but I am retired now, so I can take my time on things.
Hehe. Well, I need to show my 3D printer some more love. I will put up a card with a link to yout video when I mention it in this.
