@@mariamfarrugiaborg5570 Me too!
you already know
Me ! I grew up on this song lol

Thank You For The Four Brothers Musicians Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb, Maurice Gibb, And Andy Gibb
Killer ass BASS!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
1:06 to 1:10 is like putting the Syrup on top of your Pancakes that you already put butter on now it's time to fully enjoy.
Totally remember when this song came out. Everyone went nuts!!!!! 🥜🥜🤣🤣 Was great then and still is!!!!!!
Maurice Gibb’s bass playing here is simply brilliant! He was an awesome musician, The Bee Gees are eternal!
I know!
To think, I thought that sound in the background was a Bass Synthesizer. Turns out it is Maurice with his Rickenbacker Bass Guitar making that sound in the first few seconds.
Yeah Maurice is gooood
Considering he isn't playing the bass line...but hey...what the hell, let's dig it!!
Erethral, too!
The bass line was actually written by Blue Weaver on a synth while Maurice was away from the studio. Weaver overdubbed the original demo and played it for Maurice when he returned and suggested he play his bass over the top of the synth. Maurice loved what Weaver had come up with and did just that.
Mo could play some bass , just listen!❤He had so many talents! Miss him bunches!💔
WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maurice was really killing it on the bass
The BeeGee's music will live on Forever. This music is so much better than what's being played today. Love it.❤❤❤
Read an interview where Barry said the song was "written" by the bridge he drove over to the studio each day in Florida. The "chicka-chicka-chicka-chick" was from the rickety road surface of the bridge. Hey, however great songs come about!
I know exactly what bridge it is too. Haha! 😂
Right on!
The fact that they wrote every single one of their songs, music and lyrics, as well as dozens of other artists' hits -- they are definitely three of the most talented artists in history!
And yes ma
Many more
Weren't there 4 instead of 3 originally?
It wasn't until I saw a documentary on them, did I know they wrote other people's songs!
@@laurahall3094Andy Gibb. He was younger and a solo artist. Died young, tragically.
They didn't have the internet and youtube to suck up their free time. 😄
1:23 The bass of Maurice is just wow.
Maurice Gibb played the bass on all of their funky/disco songs. In the 80´s, when the bass was not so prominent in their songs, he switched to the keyboard and rhythm guitar, though he occasionally played the bass at live concerts. He was the most musically gifted of the brothers, who was responsible for the rhythm section and basslines for the songs, including programming the drum machines and synths
My god what a beautiful man.
We need to attend the fact the the Gibbs Brothers are not only disco or mainly disco. They were soul, gospel, R&B, funk, folk and more. Such a pure gold band!!!! Love it since my early years 😍
Some of their stuff from the 60s is excellent and probably overshadowed by everything they did later.
They just made good music for whatever era they were in , whatever kind of "pop" was "in" at the time these guys just found a way to make kickass music in that style. They got a raw deal being tagged as a disco band ,these guys were musical wizards.
They also had some great collaborations
Yes, we do need to attend that fact Jose. This is pure gold that we can never forget.
As a 1970’s kid in Georgia. Bee Gees music was playing in our home. Classic music never dies
Maurice was a very underrated bass player!!
Yes he was -- and he was equally good on keyboards -- and actually any instrument he picked up!
@@vidaturner-thibault247 Instrumentally, Maurice was the most skilled of the Bee Gees. Vocally, he got left in the shade too often, but he carried his weight with bass, keyboards, and arrangements as well. I think his peak as a bassist came on the Bee Gee's prior album, "Mr. Natural."
@@billslocum9819 I totally agree.
Maurice “Mo” was the glue to The Bee Gees. In the beginning I think (In my humble opinion) he was too at awww with Lulu and getting hammered with his neighbor Ringo (John Lennon gave him his 1st drink). Google Maurice Gibb and Ringo...their home Videos....they had to have been on something. But, Mo went into Rehab (Ringo too). They became sober. At the end of his life Mo was dedicated to his family and Paintball. He was a World Champion of Paintball. He was “Commander Mo”, Captain Moby”. He was so fit for his age. R.I.P. , Commander Maurice E. Gibb.
Absolutely gorgeous here!
The Gibb Bros.were as popular for their generation as Beatles. Shame they passed away before they had more influence. Go Barry!
Their pre-disco/falsetto work is phenomenal!
I Started A Joke , I've Gotta Get A Message To You, New York Mining Disaster 1941
I just can not get enough of these gifted musicians
The Bee Gees Are The Best 💯
Jesus (Barry Gibb) is real and super handsome in this video. The best men and group ever.
Barry the oldest brother with the gift!! Robin his own gift!! Maurice !! A bee gee overshaw d but still backed up his brothers,! A true definition of talented family!
Another one of those "time-capsule" songs.
Go blue weaver on keyboard. He was playing in Mott the Hoople when the Bee Gee called to see if he come play for them. Fun fact. Queen was Mot's front band at the time. Loved watching him on keyboard.
I love that bass sound by played b Maurice there.
One of the best bass lines of the past 50 years. Maurice Gibb was one heck of a bass player. You rock, Maurice. Maurice was the glue of the Bee Gees in many ways, but he was very talented himself. A great tune. The Bee Gees' music will be around forever.
@@user-yc3wc1si1w very well put. I agree with all you've said. Maurice should have sung lead more, too.
@@user-yc3wc1si1w ele era tímido? Pois aparentava ser
@@giselemarcianolourenco6646, I don't think that Maurice was shy. He probably felt overshadowed by Robin and Barry as the lead singer.
Bad roads, but good music!
@@KevinWhitfield-fb9tc, the bumpiness in a road is what inspired this tune. Barry has explained this in an interview.
You 70s kids rock 🎸
If UA-cam was created in 70's this would of blew up to 10 billion views for sures..
Yessssss!!!
I loved all of the Bee Gee's, but Barry was absolutely beautiful.
Not was. He's still kickin'.
He’s the last one still alive.
@@Jeanne701 Unfortunatelly ... So sad
Hotness!!!!
He's stayin' alive! @@Jeanne701
My biggest regret is not seeing the Brothers Gibb in concert 🥺 RIP Maurice and Robin ❤️. They will continue another generation with my teen! Fact: “In March 1978, records written and produced by the Brothers Gibb occupied 5 of the Top ten spots on the Billboard Hot 100; no other song writers can make that claim”!!
WRONG: Check out the Beatles in April 1964!!
Fun fact: The rhythm of this song was written and directly inspired by the rhythm the Bee Gees' car made when they were driving on Interstate 195 in Miami. They wrote this song by driving over a bridge.
Love this!!!
The rhythm is very similar to driving across the southbound Lake Pontartrain Causeway to New Orleans.
SKYLORD yes that older brother kept hearing clicking on the bridge,,,could not get it out of his head and put words to it
Yep, it's just the "drive talkin" 😉
@@AAAFilm-yt7gxlol😂
wait.... Maurice did those bass lines?! excellent
Maurice Gibb - THE master of fine bass lines that leave you stunned
That bass line in this song is simply stunning throughout the entire song!
Maurice Gibb is one of the greatest bassists of all time!
I was thinking same thing.
There is an effect on it or it's a synth bass.
@Andrew Fry According to WIkipedia, Blue Weaver played the synth bass as a guide for Maurice, and when he came in, he insisted it stay and worked his actual bass line around it. That's why it's so FAT.
Joe Austin you are sooooo right, when ever I heard the beginning to this song waaaaaay back, the hair on the back of my neck would stand up. They reigned man, they reigned.
That I-195 ( Biscayne-Miami )Bassline is killer.
Maurice on the bass has the presence of super cool!!! 😎🎸
What a tight brotherly unit, legends!
The Bee Gees have always been my favorite group anyway, but the one thing that amazes me about this song is that it originated simply from the sound of driving over a bridge. To write an entire song out of something seemingly that overlooked, that is the definition of musical geniuses!
@@paramjitsingh-iv1ef Yes, it is. It was Barry's wife, Lynda, who pointed out the sound to them. They started figuring out lyrics right there in the car.
Every time my Mom felt silly when we'd catch her singing along with the dishwasher, I'd remind her of this song.
In one interview with them I heard that the hook for "I Can't See Nobody" was inspired by airplane engine tones shifting during a flight.
Music is EVERYWHERE, but a very special few recognize it in odd places.
Underrated????
They are considered one of the greatest bands ever. What's so underrated about that ?????
And also Maurice didn't know originally what Jive Talking was... until someone told him, he lyrics were changed and we have this awesome song!
@@gavinbuczko57 I remember that as well. I always got a kick out of it when he would tell the story on documentaries.
Happy Birthday 🎉❤🎉made it to 65 today February 15, 1959. Wow lifes a rush. Bee Gees 1# 1975 just Disco to Led Zepplin
This band has stood the test of time. 💕💕💕💕💕
I watched the hbo show on The Bee Gees and how they wrote their own songs. These 3 men had real talent as they even wrote songs for other artists to sing. It’s sad to know that the twins have passed away. (I’m a twin) Barry I understand still performs my hat off to him. I wish the day of this music would return as it is for all age groups to dance and love one another again and put in their hearts.
Keep on dancing
@@psychic-medium how are you doing today ???
unique voices will do just that
A #1 hit for The Bee Gees in August 1975. It also hit #1 on the Cash Box charts, the Record World charts, and in Canada. It went to #9 on the Adult Contemporary charts and the Hot Disco charts. It also did well outside the US. The lowest that it charted was #27 on the Canadian AC charts.
This song was everywhere back then
Barry looks like Jesus . Beautiful!!! And the music!!!! That speaks for itself. Awesome! Love Barry, Maurice, Robin. And Andy. Bee Gees FOREVER 💖💖💖💖
Hello Dena
Wowsers Barry is handsome 🥰
Hello Caroline
also rocking those hair style back in the day before 2000 was cool for it time.... now a day maybe not
The hook in this song is “ sick”... These guys were masters of their craft. Even without “ Saturday Night Fever” they probably would have owned the 70’s..
They were hit machines.
MOOG BASS
Da Bass
You are 100% correct!
Barry said in an interview that it matters what the music is between singing. That music had to do something special.
Great music from a great band. I love their singing style pure gold 🎉🎉
Happy 74th Birthday Sir Barry Alan Crompton Gibb!(Born September 1, 1946)😀🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁🍾
What a great song! They each had a special gift to contribute to their beautiful music. I love them all.
Not a thing wrong with this. I think a lot of us didn't appreciate this enough back in the day.
That intro is the BEST.....!
Bingo
You would be correct sir
Dude, a huge hit. Maybe it was about "zeppelin rules, no faggot Sabbath roools" I grew up there, played hockey in it.

I did!!😂
1975 and the Bee Gees are making songs like this, way ahead of their time
"Nights On Broadway" is during this era, too. Another absolutely stunning track that was IN NO WAY Disco.
No, it's just that time can't seem to do any better... Or often even as well.
Maurice is the John Deacon of the Bee Gees :D Killing it on the bass
Such a dope song. Has funk.. has soul... Has a lil prog elements... A pinch of folk...
Yup
Has BeeGees's vibes...
Hmmm which part is folk?
@@sratus Acoustic guitars + the "boom chika" rhythm throughout the song... Especially during the break down.
This song has so many different genre elements too it, no wonder it was a smash hit.
This band and ABBA just sound better and better.
maurice gibb, extra cool, großartig ❤
Maurice plays the bass like a boss with those shades
LOVE THE SHADES!!!
Maurice on bass is awesome!
Robin, i love you forever. R.I.P - Maurice R.I.P.
Maurice: Best all around 💯🏆❤️
Agreed 100%!!
Everyone loved Barry - I couldn't get enough of Maurice. He had a wickedly awesome sense of humor that came across in interviews and behind the scenes footage.
This is one of the best bass tones in existence.
I love Maurice’s cool shaded look and slaying that bass lick.❤️❤️❤️
Underrated Tune: it set off the 3 albums which made The Bee Gees THE BEE GEES!
My goodness they really are precious
Ok, Maurice is Mr. Cool here with the shades. Nice!
The bass came, saw, decided to stay awhile and the rest is history!
No lies
It conquered also.
The story of Straya is it not?
The song that started their chokehold on the industry from 1975 through 1979. The Brothers Gibb (Bee Gees + Andy) don’t get their props nowadays. They RAN the music industry for five years straight.
Maurice was underrated in every aspect, but I loved every thing about him. RIP MOE💔💔💔
I usually don’t listen to the Bee-Gees (I’m a metal head lol!), but I think the tone on that Ric is unbelievable!
I love how minimalist this arrangement is!
When the Bee Gees sound like this, for me personally perfect Bee Gees, another one of my favourite Bee Gees songs 🎵
Yes oh goodness Barry Gibb!!
I love the Bee Gees
So loving the close ups of Maurice,,,,❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
R.I.P. MAURICE ROBIN AND ANDY.❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏AND KEEP MAKING MUSIC BARRY.
What a GREAT song by the Bee Gees !!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Maurice can really lay it down.
This is simply a sensation! God bless the Bee Gees!
Maurice in the bass is just………. Wow
This artist had a very unusual chart pattern. After having 6 consecutive #1 songs on the Billboard ® Hot 100 ® chart (they had a total of 9), they didn't have any songs in the top 20 for the next 10 years. The song that ended that dry spell was "One", which peaked at #7 in 1989.
I looove this song. I miss this music 😊
Happy Birthday Sir Barry Gibb !!
Was he Knighted? Wow I missed hearing about that
one of the worlds best synht basslines
One of the best groups of the 70s and 80s
Never forget how important these guys were.
That is one sick bass line
That bass is killer
I read a story about the inspiration of this bass line and tom-tom part, that it was the car transporting them from Miami Beach to Criteria Studios (North Miami), bouncing like a low-rider when crossing the bridges at Julia Tuttle Causeway (I-195). I found out it could be true because I've been driving around there many times and at certain speed (let's say 55 mph), your car bounces at that rhythm lol BTW is one of my fav Bee Gees song
🎸🔊🔊🔊🙏🏾☺️
Thats just the genius of the great Maurice Gibb... rip
It serves the song. That’s what makes it great.
Gloria. Wonderful comment, love it! Everything Maurice touched was pure Gold and Perfection! His talent was immense!
When ' Jive Talkin'' dropped as a single in July 1975 and on the album 'Main Course' in Aug. '75 (UK) it changed the direction of the Brothers' music and put them on the road to becoming pop culture phenomenon's the likes of which has only been seen rarely;.
yep, history in the making right here.
Can the Time Machine land & let’s go back I’m ready, front row seat heading back to the past 😎
Morris Gibb on Bass. WOW.
I saw a comment by Mark Cuban the other day where he expressed he was "deeply disappointed" in the Boomers' generation because of their "sex, drugs and rock n' roll." Now I like Mark Cuban, but anyone who doesn't like quality rock n' roll music like this is profoundly disturbed. Especially compared to much of today's 'music!'
What a track stunning ❤💯🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💯👍
The synthesizer in this song is awesome!
The zoomed in clip of Barry's face with his eyes closed is just heaven 🥰
Took my breath away !
Yes....😍
The good lovin' has got in his eyes
He was so handsome!
I know how hot was that!!!!! Yummy!!
This should've been 5min long can't stop jiving 😉
Barry got the beat from the noise made by a concrete bridge when the car he travelled in daily drove over the joints of the bridge, genius
What a FANTASTIC song by the Bee Gees !!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Great old funky 70s disco track from the falsetto kings. Awesome.
The song that started it all
wowww!! amazing bass line from Maurice! so funky!!
Awesome album I like the bee gees
One of the great roller skating songs of all time.
Haha wow did you dredge up some childhood memories!!! 🤯😍
So true.
Barry is soooo handsome here....
but I'm still Robin all the way. ❤️
I remember hearing this at the swimming pool club we belong to in the 70s.....i was 13 when they were playing this in 76....Those were good days....
Indimenticabili! Grandi! Maurice e Robin sempre vivi nei cuori! Barry! The show must go on! Love!
This just dawned on me. The Bee Gee brothers dynasty is somewhat parallel to the wrestling Von Erich dynasty. Both groups only have one surviving brother left. 😢
