- In this episode of Project GSR, we go to the racetrack! The last time you saw our Lancer, we fitted some new Potenza RE71R rubber and a surge tank to prevent fuel surge. This time we take it to the dyno and give the Mitsubishi a run at Sandown Raceway.

I have fond memories of cruising with this car, great to see it driving again.

awsome video mate your guys videos are always top notch entertaning to watch.
U make it look so easy congrats on a healthy evo and good track time
Man what a great setup for a fun day at the track. I love the evo iii and GSR. Thanks for making a video series with this one
i think i saw this car run at a tampered track day recently
Will it be for sale ?
I've watched this and the other two episodes probably over a hundred times now. Looking forward to the next Project GSR vid!
Nice one! Great to see the car perform so well. Those tyres are clearly the money.
Good stuff fellas. More seat time will see those numbers come down.
Really good series can't wait to see more.
Nice loved this shape! Great job guys !
It's good to see JB cruising around the pits
Really nice car guys. I’m glad you guys are progressing on this project 👍🏻
I love these early EVOs. We can finally import them into the states. Love this series, cheers!
Love these sorts of videos of circuit days! Keep it up!
Would be interested to know how your plugs looked after a session!
Hope to see this car out on track in person... Or on the dyno at HCW ;)
Can't believe how clean it is. Such a gorgeous vehicle. You guys are so lucky to be able to find those around australia! We only started getting evo's up here in Canada beginning with the EVO 10. And of course, go figure, its last generation. :(
Very nice lads.
Gorgeous car! These are just now becoming available for import to the states. I'd love to pick on up within a few years to add to my Evo 8.
that was awesome. would like to see more upgrade on this GSR and track times to see it's improvement.
Love the aproach of doing it right....my 20yr old self wouldn't like it and would make idiotic comments....KEEP IT COMING GUYS.
My dream car 😍
To be honest thats a really good number.
Wish we go the early evos here in the states ever since I saw that white evo 3 in Jakie Chan's Thunderbolt as a kid I have wanted one.
What a nice car this is when cars where cars
I haven't seen any mention of what ECU tuning software you're using. We use ECMLink here in the states, and it's amazing. 195kW is pretty impressive on basically stock turbo and parts. Looking forward to seeing more GSR stuff.
Jeffrey Ball Thanks mate, all specs are in ep 1. The car runs a ViPEC ECU which is similar to a Link G4.
Had same model, loved it but they suffer with rust in the roof and sold it on 🙁 Great vid, cheers from UK
Yes the previous owner had fixed the roof on this car for the same problem 👍
4g93t in that other lancer... love those powerplants.
Great looking 510 @ 4:47 a personal favorite of mine as that was my first car !... any word on Project Redline ? , otherwise looking forward to see which way you take this Mitsubishi and what gains you will make.
Great video cool to see John Bowe wander through. Do the groups adjust as you get faster?
So that was Bowey ? thought it was him,he would have a lot of knowledge to draw from.
14:42 missing j pipe flange bolt mate. must have backed out, there's a boost leak.
Awesome fellas. Up the mighty mitsy!
196 thats solid
nice car
Never saw a evo2 with evo4 Seats lol nice
Did u get any of the black evo 7??
Como é que se afina o travão de mão? ??
Is that john bowe @7:20
Yep, he was testing an M3 on the day.
The orange recaro pattern on the seats. Do they have a specific name or vendor that sells them online? I'd love to some here in the states.
ISubZeroKelvinII They are factory EVO4 seats. We chose them for thier red pattern.
В Австралии хороший климат, все детали у машины чистые, приятно выглядят
Just popped in here to ask a few 'barra' tune questions ....
I bet one of those Hyundai's had a barra.
Seems like you like the tyres.
With e85 should get to about 230kw. 250kw in that thing would be a mad lil track car. Weight reduction too
smokin joe wow well said lol that's spot on bro
Was once my car at 11:11
Miss it heaps
What engine was in it because didn't look evo3?
Why does your face show no emotions? Crack a smile
What engine was in that mitsubishi at 11;11?,didn't look like a 4g63? Was it a 4g63, was not a evo or gsr then?
That's the factory 4G93 1.8 in the GSR model. It's the original engine that would have been in mine before the 63 swap.
Gearbox rebuild. what about a intercooler upgrade???
Tim Austin The intercooler is fine at this power level.
What's those factory wheels off.
The little silver ones? They OEM Oz Racing from about a year 2000 Lancer
엑센트;;; ㄷ ㄷ
nice speed dealers 7:00
jacob webb ? Did we miss something?
no i was commenting about the sunnies
jacob webb They are Oakley's 😉
The tone is here
Well done boys got the LS to fit. Fucking shit 2lts
And too the fool that said the boxer engine would of blown up yours! I saw a rexy on the track doing well and mine is doing great 👍🏻
Is the car FWD or AWD?
evo so awd
Yes, you can see all four wheels driving on the dyno ☺
its not an evo. its a lancer gsr. but yes its awd.
Interesting i just thought it was an evo 2 or 1, suppose i should pay attention more :/
That's the thing with these CB/CD bodies: slap on the wing, fenders, bumper and bonnet and you can fool a lot of people. I have a FWD CB1A with the 93T and Evo1/3 body panels... and people still think it's a genuine AWD car. LOL
Illuminati glitch 9:07
Thats just begging for some more boost :)
Yeah, it was on less than expected, but it was ok for a track day.
No doubt, had an rb20 180 back in 2001 so dont have a warped sense of hp like you often see these days. Plus you can have fun in a 202 HQ with a 3 speed manual around a track, 200awkw in a small car is more than enough. Im just a sucker for hp and if it could take more boost i wouldnt be able to resist lol.
7:28 2 kia's / suzukis? anyhow shitboxes with cages, has to be something intresting!
Frietpan lol they're Hyundai excels and they go hard/cheap for track use
haha those excels are great in the corners, not so much on the straights..

LOL HRD @ 11:25 .....yeah nice one idiot every subaru that gets pushed blows up lol
refer to Mighty Car Mods latest vid
clutsta yep so true on that ... but I was referring to the motor not the gearboxes and I'm sure the evo dude was referring to the motor too ... if u want to get technical evo gearboxes are much worser there gear profile are much smaller and less stronger. .. also u brake drive shafts on subaru not all the time 5 speed gearboxes goes ...I'm talking about both 5 speed gearboxes in wrx and evos
TMM lol braking a drive shaft don't mean the hole engine is blown up lol ....UA-cam kill a subaru. ...a NA stock subaru motor hits the limit for 7min and then finally goes ... not even a Honda does that lol .... let's see a evo do that ... plus subaru engines take very high rpm load abuse for hours lol that's right not minutes. ... go do some research why subaru engines was used in a lot of planes in late 80s to 90s

Spot on with that guys Subaru comment. Anything on a Subaru would have been blown up. Subaru is garbage! Mitsubishi FTW!!
That guys comment about the subaru boxer engines is dead accurate, those cars are garbage! Mitsubishi FTW!!
Next up rip that shit window tint off
Lots of Hyundai accents there
