Another useful tip I got from other content creator, not sure whether you would agree or not. 1. Review ethics note every week and review formula every week.
I liked a lot of the insights your shared about the CFA level 1 in this vid. If anyone is looking for someone’a personal experience with the exam, I just made a video about my journey through all 3 levels and why I am doing it.
Marc, glad to hear that you've made through a pass. Great job; and best of luck on L2. I was going to ask you a relative question spite the fact you learned the material, with a background of finance. Here's the thing, I have recently obtained my undergrad in economics; would that "background" only I have be adequate to accomplish CFA L1? *based on your knowledge* Cheers.

It'll help but you'll still need to go through the material, all undergrad does is give you a head start in terms of familiarity with the concepts, in your case, the economics book. Best of luck on level 1!
Great videos Marc. What online softwares, programs, instructors would you suggest for purchase? As they are quite expensive, it’s hard to make the right decision as a beginner. Thanks.

Thank you! Since I am partnered with Analyst Prep (links in description) I will always mention them as they’re also one of the best bang for your buck prep providers. However depending on your budget you may also want to look at Mark Meldrum, Kaplan Scheiser or Wiley. Do your research and find out what’s best for you.
Thanks for great tips Marc . I recently found out about CFA . My background is purely of mathematics, I did my masters in maths and I want to ask you that do you recommend me taking this exam without any knowledge of finance. Will it be more difficult in my case? Please I need you to be honest keeping in mind I am average in studies . Thanks in advance.

It has a decent amount of concepts that you would see in a finance undergrad so I would have to say without any prior finance knowledge/experience, it may be a bit more difficult, doesn't mean you can't still achieve it though.
There is another program called CFA investment fondations, it’s free of charge and for people with low knowledges in finance. It’s a good starting point I think
Hi marc! Great video. Would you think the the 2.8k practice questions on the CFA candidate resources and the mock exams are enough to pass? I roughly score around 70 on all those questions.. Are those questions as hard as the actual exam? Many thanks in advance

It's all I used for level 1 and I was able to pass. However, for level 2 I purchased additional material. Kind of up to you and how confident you are in your own abilities.
Hi Marc. First of all, It was a wonderful video. I registered for Level 1 May 2021. Being a newcomer I don’t know much people in Canada. Can you help me to find societies or groups for studying. Much thanks in advance

Hi Puneet, best of luck with level 1, you can do it. For study groups, I’m more of a solo student myself but you can find various forums online. To join a society and go to networking events in your city you can find plenty of information on the CFA website. Cheers. www.cfainstitute.org/en/societies
Couple of questions: Do you have to work in a financial organization to take the test? Can you still put on an application if you passed level 1 or 2 and it still be beneficial?
3 роки тому+2
1st question: no you don't have to be in a financial organization. 2nd question: You can put that you're a CFA level II or III candidate, is it beneficial? Depends on who the hiring employer is and if they value someone going through the CFA program, hope that helps.
I know a lot of people say not to pay to much attention to the percentile ranking on the site but what did you try to aim for on the practices questions?
3 роки тому
I would agree with most people that you shouldn't worry about the percentile. I didn't take it into account at all, just focused on the areas which I was struggling more. If I can give you any advice just make sure you're learning everytime you make a mistake
Great content as usual. Can we do the level 2 and 3 without a degree but just with work experience over 5 years ( or with just passing the level 1)?
4 роки тому
Well I'm going through level 2 right now so I'll have to let you know. However, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Getting a finance degree will help maybe just because you build on a lot of the concepts learned in school, but that doesn't mean you can't teach it to yourself without it.
I just registered my level 1 exam for February 2021. And the customer service told me there would be no access code to the curriculums now, everything is under the Candidate resources page. But I saw people online discussing when they would receive the access code to the textbook, do you have any insight?
4 роки тому+1
All I can tell you is that I have no problem accessing their resources online. The entire test bank is available once signed into the CFA website. If you're talking about acquiring the textbooks, those are purchased separately than actually signing up for the exam.
Hey I am planning to give CFA LEVEL 1 next year in the month of feb or may 2022 I want to know that can I start preparation with the Schweser notes 2020 or I need to buy 2021 notes for exams preparation ?

There will be some slight changes to the curriculum for all 3 levels in 2022. You can review them here: 300hours.com/f/cfa/general/t/cfa-2022-curriculum-released-for-levels-1-2-and-3/
@ I'm asking because I'm still in high school, and tomorrow I'm buying the cfa books and the note books, and I am pretty sure that I will have alot of problems understanding it. My question is, do you think that its impossible for a high school senior to be able to study and psss the cfa, or do you think it can be done, with some serious effort. If yes, what do you recomend to catch up the financial knowledge that I don't have.
3 роки тому
I think it’s likely going to be pretty challenging if you’re coming from high school as a lot of the basic level 1 concepts are covered in depth in a finance undergrad. However not impossible, you’ll just have to teach yourself everything you would normally learn in a bachelors of finance in a shortened period of time
How did you memorize the formulas? When I took the series 7 test, I had a dump sheet for options and formula that I produced from memory to refer to during test in case my nerves got to me. For CFA Level 1, will doing that eat your time? Also, there seems to be a lot of formulas, I tend to get nervous and mess up the operation signs. Appreciate your tips especially for the computer based testing / laminated pad with marker vs pencil/paper

Dude's such a nice guy. Great video. Thank you for this!
Thanks for the tips!!
Great video. I am just contemplating taking the exam but I need to be prepared. Thank you for this information.
Anytime, glad you enjoyed
Best of luck!
Thanks Marc... This was really helpful
Thanks glad you found value in the video!
THANK YOU FOR THE FORMULA SHEET.🎉😊

That should be enough if you get the material and study as many hours as necessary to pass
Great video and explaination Marc
Glad you enjoyed
@ this will be another attempt, failed before by 1%!! not an easy exam. So much content to cover. Great work passing first go.
@@dannilena All the best on your next attempt, you can definitely do it!
Thank you for this.

Personally I just used the CFA material provided by the institute
Thanks! So helpful
Thanks for watching!
Great video Marc. I'm curious how many total hours you studied? And how many on average per week? Thanks
For level 1 I studied approx ~400 hrs and started about 6 months before the test date. So whatever that averages out to
It took me around 370 hours for level 1

Sounds like it will still be hard but definitely doable with hard work

@ thank you. Helped a lot.
Can you plz make a vedio on CFA time table for whole day including everything.
Sure I'll try to make one in the coming weeks
Sweet. 👐 Thank you for re-motivating me
Glad I could help!

Can you get your exact score achieved or only a pass/fail?
Just a pass or fail, they'll give you confidence intervals on which percentile you score in but never an exact score
Great content as usual. Can we do the level 2 and 3 without a degree but just with work experience over 5 years ( or with just passing the level 1)?

is Cfa test bank enough or do ı have to buy another too?
Additional content helps, but it's up to you and how confident you feel in your abilities.

Hi, what is the basic knowledge that I need to have to start studying for cfa level 1?
There’s a lot to be honest. The basics of valuation and time value of money to start I would say
