"There's a desert in my head, But an oasis in my dreams Where veins glow in leaves, And illuminate the breeze" I wholeheartedly disagree with people saying this album lacks lyrical genius. The way Marcus' cleans flow in this verse is fucking spectacular too
***** Haha.. you should watch the q&a with Northlane (in case u haven't) they actually spoke about that. Over all the q&a is worth watching! If you're a big fan.
First when I heard this song I disliked the sound but now I get what they were going for. The drums sound much more natural with less compression but the sound is still punchy!
I am the tear in the gravity The universal truth is my reality In a drifting space Where the dark draws near I am stronger than fear. Collapse under the horizon The ruins of a thousand stars Illuminate who we are: No drive No direction Purify My perception. Sail on Through the rift between the sky and ocean Sail on Find the peace that keeps your world in motion. Stare into the face of the sun It melts away a shell of wax To show the world how fucked I've become: No drive No direction Purify my perception. There's a desert in my head But an oasis in my dreams Where veins glow in leaves And illuminate the breeze. I will drag my being To the edge of the beginning Never still, never idle Sever me from the endless spiral. Sail on Through the rift between the sky and ocean Sail on Find the peace that keeps your world in motion. Lost inside a drifting space Where drifting days interlace And everything I saw so clear Dances then disappears. I need to be grounded But the plates keep shifting So I look for my place Where this space stops drifting.
Marcus vocals remind me of Jerry Roush, especially from his self titled with sky eats airplane. I was in love with that album just like I'm in love with this album!
The chorus is weird but I like it for this reason, it's not even in 4/4 so yeah, it's something different, so it's great. Not my fav on the album, but still a great song !
The comment sections for Northlanes new songs are filled with the crappy opinions of people that for 1: can't accept that bands evolve and want to put different elements in their music, and 2. The message that Northlane have in all of their Music, both new and old. That hadn't changed, it's just presented in a different way now.
***** .... Your logic makes no sense. Why would they name a song Ra and NOT have lyrics about the mythology? I was referencing the whole song, not just the title.

You know an album is great when every single song has people saying 'best song on the album'. 10/10.
That's a lot of albums though. There's always someone out there that will like a track, even if some hate it. The beauty of music being subjective
The guitars sound like a thunderstorm; love it.
From here on out, Northlane will be known as SpaceGroove
***** Animals as Leaders...
Pretty much any mathcore band

KosmosKatten Whats the name of the vid?
***** you mean egyptian you know the culture that existed thousands of years before yugioh
Jake Stewart No, I meant Yu-Gi-Oh because I have little knowledge of ancient Egyptian beliefs and culture.
you know that yugioh is largely based off the egyptian culture ....
Drums sounding more raw and real
First when I heard this song I disliked the sound but now I get what they were going for. The drums sound much more natural with less compression but the sound is still punchy!
northlane... first time i heard from them... i like the songs
Such a good song! the atmosphere and everything is perfect
Heaviest song of the album
I like the change of pace on this album. I guess there's a NL for any mood I'm in now!
Listened to this song once and I'm completely discovering it again. What a fucking banger!! Northlane guys we really need you in Southern France.
The whole album is incredible. Chills the whole time.

I am the tear in the gravity
The universal truth is my reality
In a drifting space
Where the dark draws near
I am stronger than fear.
Collapse under the horizon
The ruins of a thousand stars
Illuminate who we are:
No drive
No direction
Purify
My perception.
Sail on
Through the rift between the sky and ocean
Sail on
Find the peace that keeps your world in motion.
Stare into the face of the sun
It melts away a shell of wax
To show the world how fucked I've become:
No drive
No direction
Purify my perception.
There's a desert in my head
But an oasis in my dreams
Where veins glow in leaves
And illuminate the breeze.
I will drag my being
To the edge of the beginning
Never still, never idle
Sever me from the endless spiral.
Sail on
Through the rift between the sky and ocean
Sail on
Find the peace that keeps your world in motion.
Lost inside a drifting space
Where drifting days interlace
And everything I saw so clear
Dances then disappears.
I need to be grounded
But the plates keep shifting
So I look for my place
Where this space stops drifting.
Marcus vocals remind me of Jerry Roush, especially from his self titled with sky eats airplane. I was in love with that album just like I'm in love with this album!
This is the only song I like from this album I hope they can make more stuff like this in the future
There's a desert in my head,
But an oasis in my dreams
Where veins glow in leaves,
And illuminate the breeze
Easily the heaviest song on the album
feel fortunate to have bought this album . vraiment .
the guitar tone in the beginning reminds me of young and undeserving by fit for a king
FUCK that breakdown at 2:00 Its GREAT!
+Travis Onkst makes me wanna throw down every time I hear it.
Definitely my favorite!
Ra❕🖤...badass.✔️
new album kicks ass. not as beatdown as the previous ones but shit, still kicks ass.
Love it
IM STRONGER THAN FEAR!!!
Fucking Nostalgia-core man..
If not chorus, probably could've been the best Northlane song.
The chorus is weird but I like it for this reason, it's not even in 4/4 so yeah, it's something different, so it's great. Not my fav on the album, but still a great song !
Way way way better than the version that was leaked.
You do realise that the band sent that out in an email to everyone who signed up to the mailing list? It wasn't a leak they released it
Something heavy yay
Any other bands like this? I'm also into volumes and northlane.

Will the album be released in South Africa
Rob Heunis it's up for pre-order on itunes, or do you mean physical release? In which case I have no clue/doubt it.
A physical release :) There's just some cd's i gotta have !
These voice. You are listenning the new singer Marc Chavez from ADEMA xD
Least favorite track on the album to be honest, but still solid.
Hello
The law of one?
Fuck Yes! \m/
Northlane "purifies my erection" ;)
the guitar reminds me of Tool a lil
nicole daven weightless reminds me of a perfect circle
thdd
"Let us think of an edgy name the mETUL kids will love, how about, something unoriginal, like umm, an Egyptian God?"
"GREAT IDEA YEAH"
TheQuackQuackLoRD It's good to know that egyptian mythology is edgy now.
***** That's the whole point of my comment?? How would it be possible to write the theme for an album after the album is already released???
***** .... Your logic makes no sense. Why would they name a song Ra and NOT have lyrics about the mythology? I was referencing the whole song, not just the title.
the singing part of this song really stops it from being the best song for me
***** opposite for me. chorus is the best part.
Chorus is the only bad part, the cleans @ 2:12 are fantastic though.
