+ChrisMetal_Covers I think this is the magic of some djent bands and specially Northlane that knows how to explore the ambience you know, "that feeling" ! Really beautiful to remember good things and reflect on bad ones
so yeah took me awhile (6 years) but finally looking into new northlane and damn, i wish i wasn’t such a butthurt kid just bc the old frontman left, things grow in the most beautiful way
This album is so perfect. It's different from old Northlane, they were heavier. But the atmosphere of this album really hits home in the way Northlane hasn't before thanks to Marcus. He's a great fit for the new Northlane. Great album, boys! Buying it this weekend.
Bailee Walsh Less of a whining sound in Marcus' screams I find. I like old northlane a lot but I think this will overtake it by miles. The only thing Adrian had was insane vocal range. I didn't like his highs/mids but his lows/growls were nothing short of phenomenal. You hear the new bmth song? They are gunna be something else for sure with this new sound they discovered
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us To a universe where love survives us Holy shit that's one of the most powerful lyrics I've ever heard / read.
I love this album so much, I love the fact that it is not over produced, the instruments sound real and raw. They've retained a lot of elements of their sound, but I really dig the melodic and ambient sections in this album, reminiscent of a perfect circle. can't stop listening :)
Personally, I think his audition is the only good song he has done as far as Northlane goes. His work with Northlane isn't my taste, but he does have talent.
You can be the change Pain is the elixir that keeps us entertained Flowing through a looking glass Numbing stinging eyes of shame Absence rinses guilt away But our conscience is still stained You can be the catalyst The ripple to the wave You can be the change One small step will shake the earth We're sedated into submission Apathetic addicts Hooked on tunnel vision Mindless progress is a dire setback Humanity is slipping through the cracks Let the pathways through our hearts guide us To a universe where love survives us You can be the change One small step will shake the earth Let the pathways through our hearts guide us To a universe where love survives us.
This is melodic art. Keep pushing the boundaries here. Especially appreciate your connection with higher dimensional mathematics. Infinity, quantum, and number is beauty. Tool comes to mind slightly.
So I used to pretty much dislike this album because of how different it is from what got me into them (Singularity). But I never give up that quick, I always see what bands are doing new. Seeing where they are today and listening to this again for the first time in years, has given me a new respect beyond anything any other band I’ve listened to puts out. They said fuck it, and did their thing, and stuck with it. And they kick ass at doing it. What I’m trying to say is Marcus, nic, and other members I can’t think of right now, thank you. For being an inspiration. Your music has truly influenced my life.
When the very first guitar notes came into my ears, I just melted. Seriously, that guitarwork left me speechless for a bit. It is what I needed from you guys. Thank you Northlane. Thank you Marcus for that voice you got.
I was stowing tonight at Amazon and came upon this album in one of the bins. Immediately the art caught me but I couldn't tell what genre of music it was. Came home from work and decided to look it up, don't regret it at all
One day Adrian should be the guest vocalist of all the songs on the new album at one show. As much as I love Marcus, he is doing an amazing job so far. That would just be so rad to hear. Miss that guy to death.
What a delicious tune to the ears!! Wow I've never heard of this band until now after listening to some dead letter circus, and coming across them.. God the intro of this song is so mesmerizing with it's beautiful delay settings, what a great song...I'm speechless
I love how the intro of this song reminds me of the intro of combustion by Meshuggah, I don't know if its intended but these tiny influences really make this album so amazing.
I hope this song will get a music video in future. SO melodic, SO oldschoollinkinparkish, SO progressive. Plus, I really like message behind the lyrics, it`s just perfect choice for next video (if there will be one more ofc).
So keen to see how this album translates live. Never seen Northlane live before, but I'm seeing them live twice this year, and in January for Soundwave.
KatsGaming Soundwave 2016? :) I'm going to the Brisbane one, and hopefully will be able to catch them if they don't clash with any bands I haven't already seen :)
I saw them live on october and honestly...... My favourite band for 3 years has been black veil brides and seeing Northlane was even good as when I saw BVB... They put on an Amazing show and to make it better, I got to meet them all after and get pictures and hugs as it was such a small venue :3
Sophie O'Donnell how'd that sound wave go? Seen them 6 times with Adrian, I dunno if I wanna see them with Marcus cos his vocals don't sound as strong live from what I've seen :(
It always boggles my mind how die hard Northlane fans give Marcus all the shit on the musical differences on this album from the last album, when the reality is that the band has matured more and more as a whole, as their albums progress on release, and the music is better and better every time. It's not Marcus' fault that this album came out the way it did, the whole band had a hand in making this masterpiece of an album, just like last time and the time before. I think Marcus brings something to this band that Adrian simply never could, and I honestly can't imagine how this album would have been with Adrian, rather than Marcus. He's a way more versatile vocalist, and I honestly think he has way better technique, if you want to get right down to it. He's also WAY more consistent live. Every live video I've seen of his singing parts, it seems he is hitting all of those notes, whereas during the small sections Adrian had during certain songs, it never seems consistent on all the live videos, but it does still sound nice. Seriously hear me out on this. I think it's time we all move on, just like the band did, and they're going to ravage us with new music soon enough. They did so well on Equinox with In Hearts Wake, and I just talked to them when I saw them live, and they were more than excited to have embarked on that album split, with no concerns towards the new vocalist at all.
It's because both sides insist on musical elitism. Like they haven't "matured", they've changed. Yeah they've probably grown a little as people but they were always pretty mature. They've gone in a different, less intense direction and both have their merits. If anything, they've aged, and with that comes less aggressive ways of expressing yourself.
Personally, now that I've heard the album in its entirety I can appreciate it so much better. I think this band is catching heat only from "fans" who think that a band is going to sound the same after a line-up change. Admittedly I was on that bandwagon at first because I loved Adrian's influence on the band, but once you accept that those days are over it becomes easier to open up to this new direction. I love old Northlane, and I love new Northlane, but it is simply not fair to compare the two when it comes down to it, they're just too different.
Freaking out at how good this album is! I stopped listening to Memphis May Fire a while back but I have to say that Marcus sounds a little like old Matty Mullins at times
Today I listened to Bring Me The Horizons new song and hated it. I was truly worried that i would be disappointed again when listening to this album for the first time - but I'm very happy to say that I am more than pleased with this album and it just made my day a whole lot better! Thank you :D
Currently on the bus staring through the windows listening to this album watching the sunset into the dark and this is fucking beautiful

Such a good song
asmr node likes node
The background noise during the breakdown at 2:13 is awesome
Xiphas80 I think it's just a phaser effect over the guitar. Best thing about it is it can be recreated live.
+Conspiracy Cat it is phaser :) good ears
Eric Raley Thanks! I hope I would know my effects. I've just played guitar for 14+ years lol.
+Conspiracy Cat I've been playing for 8, I'm 15. Keep rocking!
Eric Raley Hell yeah man! Keep at it!
The end of this song gives me chills
The intro reminds me of Neo Seoul by After the Burial mixed with Language I by The Contortionist. Sick song.
hnjgman That's exactly what I said when I heard it first!
hnjgman R.I.P. Justin Lowe of After the Burial :'(
Jonah Garza R.I.P. in pizza
Sick blend.
DUDE YES
This album is a gem way before it's time bumping this shit hard in 2023
We all need this song now more than ever.
what a beautiful song! been listening to this for 7 years straight
I didn't think I'd be that into Northlane after Adrian left but Marcus is also really good!!
Bailee Walsh Less of a whining sound in Marcus' screams I find. I like old northlane a lot but I think this will overtake it by miles. The only thing Adrian had was insane vocal range. jake love I've heard Happy Sing- it's so good! I was very surprising when I first heard it. So excited for a new album!
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us

Holy shit that's one of the most powerful lyrics I've ever heard / read.

can't stop listening :)
This track is one of my favourites off the new album but the whole record is brilliant. Incredible job guys!
I judged Northlane way too harshly when I first heard Rot and Marcus's audition. I love the ambient thing they got going on right now.
Joshh Rowsell Same
Atley Meow I enjoy most of the songs on this album :)
Personally, I think his audition is the only good song he has done as far as Northlane goes. His work with Northlane isn't my taste, but he does have talent.

My favorite album Node and also favorite song. ONE SMALL STEP WILL SHAKE THE EARTH!!!
This album wouldn't have worked with Adrian. Northlane sounds like how they're supposed to sound with Marcus. Fucking love it
You can be the change
Pain is the elixir that keeps us entertained
Flowing through a looking glass
Numbing stinging eyes of shame
Absence rinses guilt away
But our conscience is still stained
You can be the catalyst
The ripple to the wave
You can be the change
One small step will shake the earth
We're sedated into submission
Apathetic addicts
Hooked on tunnel vision
Mindless progress is a dire setback
Humanity is slipping through the cracks
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us
To a universe where love survives us
You can be the change
One small step will shake the earth
Let the pathways through our hearts guide us
To a universe where love survives us.
Just look at the description mate

This must be the best tune of the album

Kelsea Gonzales Each one has a clear vinyl record in it with the song on one side and an instrumental version on the other.
Okay, THAT is dope. Thanks for letting me know! (:

Marcus' clean vocals are incredible!
one small step will shake the earth. Absolutely thought provoking.

I hear Tool intro, deftones, linking park vocal patterns , amazing job guys and made it a northlane song!

Anyone who doesn't appreciate this album is incredibly ignorant. The musical composition of all these songs is outstanding.

Good song boys, see you on the next one.

can someone recommend some more songs that have similar intro like this? thanks
You mean intro with delsy on the guitar?
The beginning reminds me of the original Deus Ex which is a huge plus in my book.
can u link it?
Can you make a guitar playthrough??
There needs to be a disclaimer on this. Something to the effect of, "WARNING: MAY CAUSE MULTIPLE EARGASMS!"
fucking love northlane!!! this is dope!
Anyone got the tabs for this song?
The start sounds like Come And Get It by Krewella.
