since Taylor swift's brand new album the tortured poets department is COMING soon and will likely incur some changes to the eras tour setlist (fingers crossed) here's my painstakingly thorough analysis and ranking of each and every performance on this mammoth and prolific tour. truly the entire thing is show stopping never been done before etc etc so there are no REAL cuts to be made, but we all know that evermore can use some work.....

I just watched the tour movie like three days ago. "Look what you made me do" is the gag if the century. It goes so hard! I got scared she'd jump out of the screen and strangle me. And tbh I would have loved every second of it.

I would replace 'The Archer' with 'Cornelia Street'. To me, it just sounds like a song that was written to be performed live. The way it builds to a climax is *chef's kiss* & with her stage production, she could've made it look like an actual street with the lights pointing in an arrowhead🥹

Other than that, I would've cut "The Archer", "Cardigan", "Mastermind", "Wildest Dreams".
Shortened "The Last Great American Dynasty", "Lover" and "Delicate".
That leaves us with, let's say 5 free spots for "The Tortured Poets Departement".

love that you mentioned her lipping! had the chance to see her and i definitely guessed some parts that she was not singing live especially when her pitch gets higher and her voice doesn't sound that strained - i thought she was just imitating her pitch in her older music (of course, nothing wrong with lip syncing love taylor DOWN but singing for 3 hours straight live will harm her voice in the long run im glad she has her secret moments to rest her voice)

We need answers for Debut getting the cut, and there are people who still say Evermore is her least favourite child. Like, Speak Now is drowning in the river, and Debut was found at the bottom as a skeleton.

When you said that ppl only like it because it’s part of the trilogy, that’s how I feel about Betty. It’s always been kind of a nothing song to me, it’s only purpose being to complete the trilogy. Whereas August and Cardigan are gold.
I mean it has some of the most heart wrenching lyrics I’ve ever heard - “leaving like a father, running like water” 😭
And the imagery of her feeling forgotten and discarded but then being found by someone who was looking for her all along! So beautiful!
But I had to come back because I watched a video by another creator - the folklore reaction by NeeCee X (I don’t think I can post a link) - and her interpretation of Cardigan was so different than what I had ever thought, it blew my mind. She described it as if the same person was the one who discarded her and then clung to her again as she was leaving. That makes SO MUCH SENSE with the current context of TS lore and joever.

my vote for August to be in the Louvre, the tik toks of her running towards the camera then twirling, no shoes and free, its such a beautiful moment. It's a celebration of innocence and in my opinion the girlhood Taylor holds so dearly. I love it so so much.

The standing ovation is Taylor recharging her batteries. She’s fueled by being adored, it’s the narcissist side of her 😂 but that’s ok, she deserves it
Agree on the Archer…timed my bathroom break for that. The whole Fearless era was fire. I loved her energy, the interactions with her band, her dancing…just so upbeat and full of life.

I definitely think it says something that a lot of the songs you deleted were cut from the Eras Tour Movie. She never performed Tis the Damn season in LA and I think she wanted to save Long Live for the Disney+ Taylor’s Version.

For me the fearless set is fuckin superior like it’s not even my fav album or anything but the songs just makes everything thing come to life. It’s soooo fun just singing to these songs on top of your lungs✨

Im way tired by the red era. I literally sat down on floor seat and not watching ATW10 💀😭 i did stand back up abit for the bridge to witness the iconic moment ✨
My favorite moments of the show are cruel summer, enchanted, fearless, august (the spinny dress with the sleeves omg!) and midnight rain- the “it came like a postcard” change moment has me gagged so hard every single time. It’s like the miss Americana closing version of the midnights set. We go from rainbow sunsets to midnight- it’s beautiful.
Aaagh. Not deleting the Archer. No no. I love it!
I just listened to Tolerate It and it’s beautiful, heartbreaking, and painful.
The two songs that made me cry live were Fearless and Tis the Damn Season, so thank you for your impeccable taste.

The rockification of the Rep songs on the setlist actually has me excited for Rep TV when it eventually drops. I'm starting to wonder if her "goth-punk moment of rage" quote wasn't actually a sign that she doesn't understand what the words goth and punk mean, but a hint at a new creative direction for the re-record.

i honestly think that i’d muchhh prefer yoyok instead of mastermind as the second last song on the tour. Yoyok feels like such an incredible bookend to the show. I do love mastermind and the performance was great but idk. I think yoyok has really become this big difinitive moment of the midnights era and it’d be so beautiful to watch it get its big moment
I only went to one show (Seattle N1) but for me it was perfect. SO many things made that night iconic - the small swiftie earthquake, NBNC, not realizing that LONG LIVE was added (hello???), and being surprised with This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things. Oh and I learned recently that Eddie Vedder was there, so 2 artists I love were in the same place.

100% agree that LWYMMD is one of the best performances : I have a whole new appreciation for the song for two reasons : 1. That performance and the instrumentation is amazing 2. I’m a zumba instructor and have been using it in class for years and I have somehow not gotten sick of it, it’s weirdly timeless even though initially we were all like ?! What the crap is this ?!n

We need “you’re on your own kid” as a permanent in the setlist-but acoustic version kinda doesn’t fit the midnights set vibe. Acoustic goes so hard though. I never really vibed with the song until eras- now I stan so hard and it’s one of my favorites!

LOVED THE VIDEO! Waited to watch it while I ate dinner and it was worth it. As always, you just know your stuff. My TOP louvre performances from when I went in Nashville would be Cruel Summer, Fearless, You Belong With Me, LWYMMD, Enchanted, All Too Well 10, Style, Shake it Off, Surprise songs, Anti-Hero, Bejeweled, and Karma. Those were the most fun and I had the time of MY LIFE! In delete, I would put The Archer, Delicate, Betty, Cardigan, IKYWT, Wildest Dreams, and Vigilante Shi. Not saying all of those are bad, but I think could be replaced easily if she chooses to replace some going forward. I think some added songs could definitely be I did something bad, getaway car, New Romantics, YOYOK, and tortured poets set. Thank you for the video! I’m so excited for April (TTPD Month) because I have a feeling that once April hits, she will be teasing and promoting. I’m sensing emergency videos may be on the way. Anyways have a great day Zach!

2.5 months until my show now and I really wanna know what's gonna happen after ttpd comes out
two of my top ones are fearless and enchanted (they both made me SOB) (also honorable mention MARJORIE because that made me cry so much its so personal to me and i saw it in the nosebleeds so i got all of the phone lights, instant tears) and my DELETES would have to be cardigan and delicate THEY BORE ME like hurry it up girly. i can keep verse 1, chorus and bridge of delicate BUT WHY ARE WE GETTING THE SECOND VERSE. also my tears ricochet BROKE ME but my one gripe with it is that i couldnt see her most of the time because of the visuals on the big screen, so i had to look over on the other side of the stadium to see her. ALSO blank space in sydney went CRAZY. it was earbleedingly loud (in a good way obv) so enchanted like speak now is MY album cause i think im crazy or something idk and fearless AOWiujABNW]au0JOSNBKd ]aU)IWkn anyway cute! ALSO i would replace cardigan with sparks fly in speak now, OH YEAH AND i would swap trouble with we are never in your ranking it just hits different in a concert setting (eras was my first concert cause i didnt get tickets to 1989 or rep)

Like you said, this is not just all her songs its gonna be the biggest hits tour, so when she does her biggest songs only from eras like fearless that we have heard at every tour is a given, Folklore, Evermore, Lover and Midnights are of course gonna get more in the tour because she wanted to highlight those a little bit more

VIGILANTE SHT IN DELETE AND MASTERMIND IN THE LOUVRE YOU NEED TO BE HOSPITALIZED IMMEDIATELY. VS is not my favorite song but on the tour it an exciting moment. I absolutely hate the mastermind choreography. (Obvi not being serious just because sarcastic and stating my opinion)
My delete performances would also be The Archer, Cardigan and Wildest Dreams! I actually like the songs themselves but I think we can do without those performances and to me it made sense that they're initially cut for the movie (if you needed to cut more songs for a ttpd set I would personally cut 'tis the damn season (bc it's slow) and maybe either WANEGBT or IKYWT too (just bc they're easy to cut/not a lot of production would be lost)

I'd love for you to do a video on Melodrama, one of my fav albums of all time and both it's themes and Jacks involvement has always made me think about how some of its songs could fit into Midnights and potentially TTPD. I had this theory she left debut off the setlist bc she didn’t technically own it and she’s performing the reputation Taylor’s versions that just haven’t been released yet to give TTPD her moment. Bc if she hasn’t re-recorded debut, would she be aloud to perform them live? But then again, she does them in the acoustic set, so I’m not sure? Though the acoustic set doesn’t have the full accompaniment so maybe that’s why? I’m reaching and I can feel it I am just trying so hard to understand why she left debut off bc it’s truly a crime.

I understand why she combined evermore and folklore, however I believe she should've made a mash up of folklore instead of singing full songs - similar for how she sings smaller chunks of ttpd . I could listen to every folklore song for hours, however, other people get bored after like 2 verses of each song 😭so combining all of folklore would give folklore a faster pace and more engaging for non- folklore songs
