    I paid over $2000 in Australia for the 9100fx kit with 2 batteries after less than 6 months the automatic dark lense stopped working and had to be replaced,I have also noticed even welding with a hood on my face got burnt because light gets in the top between the plastic and the Kevlar material at top of helmet and also getting light from the bottom......the fresh air is amazing and so much better than having a resperator on all day but the price of the unit and replacement parts is a total joke and after mine breaking after such a short period of time I'm really annoyed.

    Great unit with a few major faults. slight tap of the adflo unit and the battery disconnects and it turns off. Yes I have cleaned the terminals and set the battery connectors, it still does it. other fella I was working with last week finally spat it, after multiple disconnects and threw his off the scaffold. Left site and purchased an esab unit. Think I will do the same im over the constant disconnections. second fault flip up screen for welding is great but there is no protection for the inside of the welding screen so it collects grinding dust. as the inner screen slides in and out it eventual gets scratched. Thanks for a good pair and welding visor but im down with it.

    I have had mine for two months now and its my best friend. Best 1700 I have spent. I took the filter assembly apart to clean it, as it sounded like it was getting bogged down. The mesh screen and filter in the back, or the front was indeed dirty, better the filter than I am I right!. How do I know when its time to change the filter? I have been stuck welding brass and I have been noticing its subtle aroma. The filter in the plastic case still looks clean. By the way the optics are AMAZING my boss told me to never weld with my Lincoln hood.

    • @nickthedane1
      @nickthedane1 6 років тому

      Dmitry Levinov Yes

    • @alienairguns
      @alienairguns 5 років тому +2

      The pre-filter and particulate filter catch the particulate. I use this system for welding wires containing manganese, stainless steels and hardfacing wires which contain hexavalent chromium. The gas filter is for organic compounds like thinners and paints but I use this also as extra protection, plus it doubles as a nuisance smell filter. If the particulate is getting to the gas cartridge it will clog it quickly so you need to keep the filtration in front of it in good condition.

      @@alienairguns the paper filter won't catch any fumes its for dust only that's why it's called dustfilter. Hi Alassan, changes should be made on schedule decided from thorough environmental analysis made by health and safety experts since each environment is different. However, if you smell a "break through" of any kind, the filter should be immediately changed out, since that indicates you have used it too long.
