It may not have ghosting but it does have black smear, especially visible in Alan Wake 1/2, Silent Hill 2 Remake, RE, Outlast, dark scenes in any game in general.
Hey, thinking about buying it. Flickering concerns me, does it flicker when fps in a game drop? I play a lot of MMO games where FPS can drop low often.
@@akumusi556 I have never noticed any smearing. My only complaint is that 1100 nit peak brightness could be maybe 800 instead. Bright colors can get blinding.
Hi, please could you tell how this monitors ghosting at 60hz. Cuz every reviewer say it’s good with medium overdrive for 180hz, but how about lower hz ?
No ghosting at lower hz but it's big shortcoming is the adaptive sync causes flicker so you almost have to leave it off which can lead to a lack of smoothness at lower FPS. But I don't really notice any problems at lower FPS. When the one game I play grinds to 20fps there is still no ghosting but the frame times are all over the place then so it gets chonky.
Someone said flickering with adaptive sync, I always play with ASYNC on but usually at 60fps in demanding games in 1440p and of course higher fps for less demaning games like CS:GO, will the VRR flicker in 60fps on this monitor do you think?
@Grandmaster-Kush It does but the one game I play where I need it on because my FPS goes as low as 18 but averages 40-80 it is way preferable to play with the flicker of VRR then the chonk of no VRR. The screen flickers maybe once every 2 minutes, barely noticable. My biggest gripe with the thing is the brightness can be overwhelming sometimes. Other then that it's beautiful.
If I could get a new monitor every month I would have enough cash to get an OLED=p ya still use it still love it. Just make sure you can drive 1440p with your gpu. It does flicker if you turn on VRR at least for some games so playing at less then 180fps is not ideal. It looks fine at 100fps though. VA does replace IPS bloom with light bleed(halo effect) on the HDR setting. I don't notice it much in games except World of Warcraft where panning a bright light source behind the chat window lights up the chat window some, but on desktop where I have a black background moving a bright white window next to an icon lights the icon up sort of thing. Still I love it.
@@PhillipJermakian Didn't notice the post date was so recent lol Have you used it at all for watching movies and just for overall media consumption? I really wanna play single player games that will be darker, and some movies that will also be darker. Tried those on this IPS panel and the glow mixed with the grey blacks was insanely distracting.
@ElBeeGaming Been playing Project Zomboid which I bet they tested mainly on IPS I need to turn the brightness up on that but like Aliens Dark Descent the black levels are fantastic. For me it was the same thing, entering a glowing cave that is supposed to have black walls and they all looked washed out. I am very picky with monitors I tried 3 screens the last time I got one. I doubt it will disappoint you. Hardware unboxed gave it a glowing review.
Medium overdrive and it's pictureHRD setting with local dimming on medium. Strobing is overdrive right? I suck at CS2 but it's so pretty it is hard to put down on this monitor. In other apps the blooming can be a bit much like panning the chat windows in wow over a bright object lights the text up some but it is worth it to me for the black levels.
@@PhillipJermakian Strobing (if the monitor even supports it) is different from Overdrive, Overdrive is for normal non-strobing modes. I'm gonna assume you're not using it Interesting, people generally prefer not to have local dimming in SDR and/or on the desktop, I'm glad to hear that somebody finds it tolerable. All of this talk is just hyping me up and 😭 because here in Canada it totals out to $500CAD after international conversion and shipping and fees, why can't it just get sold in Canada reeeeeeeeee How enjoyable is the HDR?
@bluesharpie9744 Running HDR on the desktop too. Desktop apps went from grainy and washed on my 1080 IPS to silly bright and clear. Some stuff does fuzz a bit but I assumenit is rendered for 1080p like Nvidia update window and stuff. Find a US relative and ship it there, then take a drive? I would buy it again for sure. I spent a couple of weeks seeing the options before I picked this one. Also you live in Canada. This thing gets warm. A nice to have for cold temps=p. It is an overcast 8am but maybe the most telling thing about the screen is I went outside and I am like "man why does my screen look better then this".

Local diming on or off ? HDR or SDR ?

Hi, do you use VRR on this monitor?
how bad is VRR iverse ghosting with this monior with HDR on?
Thanks in advance
Dose the VRR flickering occur when the local dimming is turned off?
@jabalajabolindest4852 it does not seem to but you lose so much brightness it's not worth it to me.
what about in darker games does it have smearing or is it just with hdr on?

Do you still use this monitor? Was thinking about grabbing one since the IPS I got annoys the hell outta me with it's IPS glow lmao

What settings is this? Just regular Overdrive? Strobing? This is very impressive otherwise, especially for a VA

If my sample looks this good I’ll be keeping it.
Does this monitor sleep and wake ok when using DisplayPort?
@geraldroof1481 Ya no problem there. Sleeps just fine.
Do you have gsync? How is it with this monitor?
Works fine, it has the ! warning since the monitor is adaptive sync but it works fine.
Which game is this
Counterstrike 2.
