My high school art teacher had us use shaving cream and inks to create texture, but I didn't know you could use a ruler to remove the shaving cream to leave the design behind!
Yes, you just might tear it when you draw your design into the shaving cream, garbage bags and plastic table cloths work, however I have used sheet pans and they were the best, because you can just wash them off after and they keep the shaving cream contained
Play in the shaving cream. Sounded funny. Love the use with the stencils. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the video! Very informative❤❤
I initially had doubts, but this is pretty awesome!
Alright, I was VERY curious when I saw the title for this upload, so I'm happy I watched it! This is such a cool idea with so many possibilities!
I am so glad you watched it! It is one of my favorite end of year or end or art camp activities.
I love this! what a fun project for kids & adults!
This is cool! And very vibrant. I would like to try this with kids! I bet they have fun!
My students, old and young, love this!
I've seen this done but using reinkers. Didn't know you can use food colouring, so that will go on my shopping list!
So many great ideas!
excellent tutorial!! Learned a lot!!✌💜

how did I not know about this!!!!
I wish we had a love button.
Hi, can I use alphabet stencils? Your work is absolutely gorgeous.
Can you put a t shirt onto you shavings cream with a stencil. Please mak a video doing it. Love your work.
Great idea! I will try it, and thank you!
amazing! can we use ink instead though?
I used black ink and it totally worked. Try it and let us know!
hey great video! very cool idea but can I use fabric paints as well?
Try them and let me know if it works! I have only tried food coloring
would watercolour work for this too? great video!!!
Thank you! Im not sure if you can drop watercolor into shaving cream, but it might! Try it and let me know!!!
Yes. Watercolor and food dye are essentially the same thing. Pigment vs dye and watercolor has a binding agent so it will adhere to the paper better
can i do this on a stretched canvas?
Hey I was wondering if you could make a video with shaving cream word art where u can do shaving cream words with art
I love thesis
Would this work using a canvas instead of paper?
Do you think I could print out a picture ( like a coloring page ) and then do this with it.
yes
If I use acrylic paint instead of ink and put it on canvas do you think it will less likely fade?
Mine haven't faded from over 7 years ago. I don't think acrylic paint will react the same in the shaving cream
What happens if you leave the shaving cream to dry with the colors?
It should evaporate after time, but the colors might mix more and not be as crisp
Can you put a sheet of tin foil down for underneath the shaving cream?
Yes, you just might tear it when you draw your design into the shaving cream, garbage bags and plastic table cloths work, however I have used sheet pans and they were the best, because you can just wash them off after and they keep the shaving cream contained
@@MrOtterArtStudio thank you!
hi what brand of food coloring did you use as my red with blue turned BLACK 😣
Oh no, mine was a cheap dollar store brand. What brand did you use and we can let everyone know not to use it.
ink colors nd water colors are same or not
can you do this with canvas instead of paper
I know it works with watercolor paper, but I have never tried canvas. Try it and let us know if it works!
We also used with our fingers with paint...
what if i use poster paint? is it okay?
I have never tried it, I know food coloring works. Try it and let us know!!
Would this work on a canvas?
It might, it depends on what the canvas is treated with. Sometimes it is treated with acrylic that will repel the water based food dye
Where's this school
love this video and first comment
