There are some neat crafting options for marbled papers, such as lining the insides of boxes or using as gift wrapping paper or laminating them and turning them into place mats, etc... I haven’t tried any crafting with them other than making little paper crafts for embellishments on cards. I hope you and Nina will demonstrate some of your uses for these papers. I love colors and so do my two granddaughters ages 4 and 8 and we’ve had fun making them several times, using shave cream and food coloring. I haven’t tried paints or inks to make them. Really small children might be tempted to lick their fingers doing this craft and for that reason some people use whipped cream (cool whip) and food coloring. Thanks for sharing this❤️
Thanks so much Amanda and yes we will be showing how we use them at some point. I think food colouring and whipped cream is a good idea for little ones.
WOW 😯 WOW 😯 WOW 😯 Kylie, I really really love ❤️ all those pages but, the really really vibrant one at the end, is my favourite. I’ve just watched Nina’s video on nail polish marbling and it was stunning too. So that’s my next playtime in the craft room. Thank you so much Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
The shaving foam seems to get everywhere - especially when working in a small space trying to keep it all within the range of the camera - but lots of fun. Thanks for watching and commenting Alisa :)
You had some beautiful results! If you use a bamboo skewer and you don't mix your colours so thoroughly you will be able to get more patterned prints before the colours lose their definition and mix together too much. I've taught this technique to children and adults and everyone has fun and doesn't want to stop!
Yes, I agree Lisa and since I will be using these as backgrounds or collage then the bits of white don't bother me. Thanks for watching and commenting :)
Thanks so much Purple Fairy. The packing paper is probably more my cup of tea as its a bit grungy and it feels and sounds great as it's gone kind of crunchy 😊 xo
Hello Kylie, thanks for sharing this technique, I love this way of marbling. I don't know why I've never thought to use different papers (tissue, pre-painted and dictionary etc) but will do now!
This looks like messy fun! I love the effects you've got using different products. The paler ones would make really lovely signature pages. I can't wait to give this a go x
Kylie, I love the way you are free to experiment. I am so scared of making everything perfect that I can't see to give myself permission to experiment. I think for your first time doing this, that you learned a lot. And some of your experiments even surprised me! This is one of my favorite techniques. I just told myself a few days ago that I needed to get my shaving foam out because my marbled paper stock has gotten very low. Thanks for sharing! Loved the video!!!
Thanks so much Lenella. Believe it or not, deep down I am a perfectionist but I have fought hard and continue to have to fight hard to stop myself from being so. I love to experiment with supplies and decided when I started my channel that when painting or making things if I got something wrong then that was just the way it was and that it was important to show people that - it's just about keeping it real. And if I didn't do that then I'd not have one single video up because there is nearly always some sort of issue! Please do give yourself permission to experiment - it opens up a whole new world. :)
If you are looking for defined swirls, don't use a brush! It blends it too much. And if it is blended too much, just squirt in a few more dabs of shaving cream to bring some white back in for sharper definition. Also, don't use complimentary colors together, red & green, Blue & orange, Yellow & purple, unless you only pull through it with a stick a few times. If you stir too much you will get brown. Use colors next to each other on the color wheel: green, teal, blue, etc. After you pull a couple of papers with that and are about done with that batch of shaving cream, then you can add a red or orange to it for contrast.
What a wonderful technique! Great to watch y ou experiment and have fun. I have some inks that I am eager to try! Thanks so much for another great video, Kylie!
You read my mind lol i thought what if i use inks and in all warm colors and then you did! I think less mixing, like using the end of the stick instead of the brush side would keep the color on the surface instead of it mixing in too much with the cream would get better results on the 2nd,3rd etc dips
Thanks PattyAnn - the warm colour inks turned out really nice. And thanks for the tip - I think I was overtaxing because I was so busy looking at the patterns being created in the tin and then of course some just ended up totally mixed together! :)
I have never done this, but it looks like so much fun! I love all your pulls and are so grateful for your experimentation usingg different mediums. I bought some Dr. Martin inks on clearance years ago, but have never had much success using them. This looks like something I might be able to be successful with! TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
Thank you so much as always Evelyn - this was fun and I'd like to try it with some other supplies as well. I should maybe do some videos using inks. I went through a phase (many, many moons ago) where I was using inks all the time. I used it in place of paints - it's a beautiful medium to work with
Awesome. I checked your videos out cause Nina recorded taking a look. Your papers are just as pretty as hers. I love purple it's my favoorite I also like your paper that you scraped the pages off on.
It does look fun I've not done this technique before either, I might just give it a go but I need shaving foam ours are all gels. Loved the red, orange, yellow one at the end there. So pretty 😊💖🌷
Thank you for a really interesting video, Kylie. You've got yourself some really interesting results here and I'm dying to have a go myself now! Many thanks as ever.
I can’t believe you never tried this before, your like one the queens of art to me on you tube lol. Glad you finally got to give it a go it’s a very cool technique.
Thanks so much for your kind comment Susan - made me smile :) I don't know why I didn't try it before - just never got round to it. But I really enjoyed it :)
Looks fun!! I have been wanting to do this🥰 right now I am way off where there is no wifi 😞 only use my data when I go on my phone. I haven't been able to make any videos or craft for 2 weeks now and I am going crazy!! Miss it so much!! Having to stay out here in my husband's aunt's old house in the attic till we find a place of our own. Hope it will be soon!! We have been bouncing around for 5 months here and there waiting and looking and it's been hard on us both but I was able to keep up my UA-cam channel until we landed out here😞 Hope to be back very soon🥰
Hi Tammy - lovely to hear from you. Thanks so much for watching and commenting especially when have no internet. I had saw that you were on the move - I hope you can get settled somewhere soon and get back to making videos. Take care
You have so much fun!! I have seen this done before and it is indeed an interesting project...but I have a major aversion to getting my hands really mucky with paints glue, food...I did not even make mud pies as a child! 😅
I did have fun Chrisann. And fortunately, I am the opposite (I enjoy getting down and mucky with paints etc though not food - when it comes to food I am constantly washing my hands!). Believe it or not I did have a pair of those thin blue gloves at the side as I know from the past that my hands have stained when using spray inks and though for the most part I don't mind that I thought it best to try and avoid if possible. Anyway, I was so into this that I completely forgot to use them! My point in all of that was to say that maybe you could try gloves? Thanks for watching and commenting - always appreciated :)
@@KylieCooStudio even though I cannot get 'down and dirty' myself, I do enjoy others really going for it with their art...well, except watching Tina at Shabbydabbydoodah constantly whiping toxic glue on her hands and dipping her fingers into things I know are labeled not for skin contact (but I do adore her and her YT channel). I have a sensitivity to latex so the gloves are out unkess I could find some other kind, I'll have to look around!
Yes the gloves I have are latex free because likewise I have a sensitivity to latex. My biggest issue with gloves is that I have small hands with short fingers so they are always flapping at the fingertips which just bugs me!
Thanks Camille - yes, I did stir the paint way to much after the first pull. Live and learn - learn and live. I appreciate you watching and commenting :)

Thanks Kim - it was even more fun than I expected :)
Loving this project. I had no idea this was possible. Love your creations.

Love these, just fantastic how the paper looks after
Thanks so much Tora 😊
Great project!! Some nice patterns there! Thanks for sharing Kylie! xx
Thanks so much Mona :) xo
I have not used the technique in years. I like your modern twist on an old technique. Loved it.
Thank you Judy
Can’t wait to play with this technique again, after many years. It was fun watching you play, Kylie.
