    On my 06 gsxr 1000 I stripped the connector blocks,, little devil's had a bit of corrosion leading to issues,, so clean and acf 50,, as same as kawasaki I don't want to be removing fairing panels,, all the time,, ride and enjoy the bike,, ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️from Northern Ireland

    A trough made from tinfoil works great for routing oil drips out from under the filter location and into a bucket so it doesn’t get all over the headers. Cheers! Loving this series. Glad I found it.

    Compressed air is by far the superior method for removing and installing grips. They'll never slip and it's clean.

    Great vid again, good tip about the handlebar grips, I've seen all sorts of recommendations for changing them including using compressed air etc, I didn't think it needed to be so difficult and you've confirmed my suspicions here!
    Also props to Phillip for coming to the rescue with the 3D printer, that is cool.

    Nice one. Great tip about fitting the fuel line before the electrics on the tank. I usually 'pre-wet' the oil filter with an eggcup amount of oil and rotate the filter around, never brimmed it like that and allowed to soak in, so another great tip I'll be trying. Now, time to make a nice lemon and lime cheesecake!

    I bought my ZX10R new in 2004, it’s a fantastic machine and handles well as standard without a steering damper after coming from a ZXR750L2.
    In later years I bought a Ducati 1199S also new and this machine really does deserve a reputation as a difficult handling motorcycle, however I do also adore it.
    I agree with the description of the front fairing design on the ZX10R as it is very awkward to work on.

    I had exactly the same colour zx10r, amazing engine and stiff chassis, I revalved the front forks as I didn't get on with the stock setup. I experimented with different fork heights, shock lengths to get it dialled.

    300V is actually worse for road use if you look up black stone analysis it shows its total base number drops faster than other brands. Its good for racing but it breaks down quickly which track guys usually do oil changes between races anyways.

    I know you don't plan on messing about with the top fairing again, as you mentioned. For what it's worth though, it's actually not too painful to do. You only need to remove the windscreen. The mirrors, panels with the indicators, and the panel at the bottom can all stay on. Just need to unbolt the ram air mount, undo a few connectors and a bolt on the nearside, and the whole thing will lift away as a single unit!

    Many thanks Dave for another interesting video on the ZX10 R.
    Can you elaborate on why you prefer not to use the Renthal race grips on the road please, I’ve mistakenly used the medium race grip for a road bike and would like to change but also understand where I went wrong.

      More of an looks thing really, and the renthals fitted were the thinnest option so also not as comfortable. If they were the 32mm dual compounds it might have been different 😁

    Is it worth doing a throttle body sync on this bike? I've read that unless one has access to highly accurate equipment, there's not a whole lot of point (I'm mainly looking for an excuse to not do the job haha) Curious about your thoughts on it.

      I've never felt the need to, so unless yours is running really badly, I'd leave it alone

    When bleeding the radiator is there any particular way to get all the air out the system, or do you just run it for a bit with the radiator cap off and let the air out that way? Also I’ve have an issue with the over expansion bottle chucking out coolent when up to temperature, any ideas why it’s doing this? Your expertise would be gratefully appreciated.

      If it's over filling the header tank, it could be the rad cap not holding pressure, cheap aftermarket ones are prone to that... Or the head gasket leaks 😳
      I find leaning it over to the left helps get the air out, but a few short runs with the cap off will help too
