I just finished watching the pumpkin and I wanna say thank you soooooooooooooooo much for being so patient and going step by step AND for not using so much crochet jargon 😅 I’m very visual so when people use the big words and crochet terminology I’m like uhhhhh just show me and you did just that and much more!! Thank you again!
@@bellacococrochet Being more of a visual learner as well, I struggled with written patterns quite a bit, but I've been able complete 3 of these little pumpkins now and only started learning to crochet (from your channel also) a couple of months ago! So I just wanted to say thank you and that I also have a ton of appreciation for all of your wonderful video tutorials 🖤
You are a great teacher!! Thank you for the very slow and easy to follow tutorial. I watch hands closely and your videos are clear and close enough for me to to see how you hold the yarn. Thank you!
ugh thank you for this!!!! Everytime she said "simply" I was like there is nothing simple about this lol. Simple pattern, impossible to "pinch the two loops"
This is awesome! I’ve only knit an icord on very small needles to go with a gift bag for my mother. I have to say it sits there half done because the process is positively painful! I’m sure on larger needles it is fine but not on small size needles. This is the perfect solution! Thank you Sarah-Jayne! Now I can finally finish the gift bag and send it to my wonderful mom! She’s going to be 92 early next year and she and my dad are still going strong. 70 years this coming June! She is a master quilter. Currently she does Bargello as well and has crocheted and knit over the years making all my kids and grandkids heirlooms! I am truly blessed and this wonderful cord has been driving me nuts! A perfect Sunday! Icord dilemma solved, 19 year old granddaughter hanging out with us and Poldark tonight! It doesn’t get any better than this!💕💕
Both this and the pumpkin tutorial are brilliant and great to see it in English terminology Just completed one to go with my crocheted witch and will be making more!
I just finished my pumpkin it’s so adorable and one of my first projects since I’ve started crocheting. my son asked for a pumpkin and he loves it lol.
I've struggled with this in the past. Ax I watched today I had a brainstorm; I can slip the loops onto a stitch holder. Then I don't need to worry about dropping them as much. I'm excited to ̌try this again.
I have finally finished my pumpkin, he is a little bit wonky but I love it!!! Thank you for making such an easy to follow tutorial. I showed everyone in work today and now they want to make their own too, so I have told them to watch your channel! Would it be possible to do a tutorial on how to crochet a cute potato please?
I LOVE HOW YOU MADE THAT STEM!!!!! So easy to do!!! you are brilliant! I had some brown yarn and some thin twine sitting on my desk. Make the stem with those 2 stands??? UNREAL!!!!
This just dawned on me… i feel like it would be so easy to knit with a tunisian crochet hook and a knitting needle (as opposed to using two knitting needles)
By far the easiest tutorial for an I-cord! 💯 Don't really understand the fuss about this being hard to crochet and easy to knit. After releasing the loops just hold on to the two loops for a second when you're pulling through the first one and that locks everything in place. ❤ Best to try out with a thicker yarn on your first attempt, afterwards it's smooth sailing
Thank you for sharing this! Some days I have difficulty understanding a pattern, I have ADD and the words can sometimes jumble depending on my concentration ability. I tried to read a pattern to do this and just couldn’t focus. Thank you! I want to make a rope to put on a wall sign I bought that is damaged and I think this will hide it nicely and add to the decor as well.
Can you please do a tutorial on how to join the ends of the cord together? I've been searching and can't find any resources so could really use some help.
As nice as it would be to finally make this stitch look good with my crochet the old French knitting bobbins are great for cords, harder to count your rows if you walk away for too long though
the pattern I was following called for an I-cord but I think the instructions they provided on how to make it are incorrect... so thank you for this clear tutorial!!!
I have a question. If I would make the pumpkin in a bigger size, this stem would be to small. I can adjust the height, but bot sure how to make it more wide. Doe you have any suggestions on that?
I love your tutorials. They have taught me so much. But I learned to do ichords a different method. Watching this had me breaking out in a sweat. I do 30cm chords, using 2.5 or 3mm hook. This way will take far too long and age me 10 yrs about thos loose stitches.
When you fasten off the yarn leave a long tail and just use a darning needle to sew it onto the top of the pumpkin by looping it around a few times - you can knot the yarn to make it more secure if you want 🙂
Hi Bella, I just came across a video titled "How to crochet an icord with the easiest way". It blew my mind at how quick and smart it looks, only problem is the video has no voice, its blurry and to top it off it doesn't show the key element of how to hold/ position the yarn in order to complete the icord. In other words I can't figure it out. If its not violating any ethical rules, I wish you would take a look at it, as with your experience you should be able to figure out the enigma and you could share with us one more way to make an icord. Thanks.
I've just checked the video and it seems fine and has sound so maybe the issue is your end. I'm presuming you are referring to my tutorial :- ua-cam.com/video/o97aBEJ4Mto/v-deo.html :)
You would need to crochet through the ring so your stitches are worked around it - if you hold the ring behind your work, pass your hook through it to make your stitches. Hope this helps 😊
If there is a long enough tail of yarn on each half of the I-cord then you could sew in through any loops and then attach it back together. If that doesn't work you could try making a new one using my tutorial 🙂
It can be tricky to learn anything new so don't give up - have a practise using quite thick yarn such as aran weight or above, and you should find it much easier to see the stitches and what you're doing 😊

To not lose the loop i put them on a toothpick and now it feels like knitting. This is knit/chrocheting, isn't it? What an interesting combination.

Yes! Thank you! Great suggestion. 🎉

Wait this was so much easier than I expected and so easy to follow

Having knit and repaired dropped stitches so many times I can see you figured out how to knit with a crochet hook. Well done

One of the best tutorials out there. And lucky I was working the exact same color you used in this tutorial. Thanks for sharing ❤

Love this. Maybe it's better if we use knitting needle to secure the loops.
ichords are now the bain of my existence, great tutorial though, helped a lot

Do you have a tutorial for crocheting an i cord together for a continuous handle for a bag?
It's a bit tricky and it took me a while but after the 4th attempt it looked like your cord. LOL. Thanks for the tutorial!

I reckon you could put the two sts on a cable needle

What kind of knitting yarn is this? Because I have one but it's not like that
Haha loved found your channel, thanks so much!

I found out it helps to hold the dropped loops on a curved loom knitting needle.
This is an amazing tutorial!! Thank you so much!! I was also curious where you got your ring on your right hand? So pretty!!!

Very nice

Is it meant to look the same the whole way round the cord? I can get three neat-ish sides and the back is like a baggy big stitch
hi! if i've run out of yarn halfway through, is there a way i can attach new yarn to continue the project?
It may be quite fiddly to do, but you can attach new yarn by pulling through the new ball and just letting the old one drop 😊

Is this supposed to be flat or rounded? Mine does not look rounded. I have undone it and redone it several times.
It’s supposed to be rounded like a cord; I would try using a smaller hook size maybe as your tension could be too loose 😊
@@bellacococrochet thank you. I am using a 3mm hook. It maybe my slack is too loose. I will try again.
Thank you ❤

Could I use a cable needle to hold my stitches instead of just holding them?
Yes of course, or you could slip them onto a stitch marker 🙂
Thank you so much 😊

Hi my handle broke on my small bag . I might try this . Need the bag for my phone
Now im gonna make a bracelet out of this technique
Adorable!
How would I attach it to rings at the side of my bag please . Cause handle broke
You would need to crochet through the ring so your stitches are worked around it - if you hold the ring behind your work, pass your hook through it to make your stitches. Hope this helps 😊
What size is the hook?
It's a 5mm :)
I found this not easy to do! I loved your pumpkin tutorial but this this is not so simple!

Hi 👋 love this
Lovely
Thank you :)
I have an I-cord that was cut in half on a shawl. Anyone know if it's fixable? I've never tried to crochet 😅 but I will for this!
If there is a long enough tail of yarn on each half of the I-cord then you could sew in through any loops and then attach it back together. If that doesn't work you could try making a new one using my tutorial 🙂
I’m first. I love you so much
Thankyou
