I've been crocheting for 57 years and have never seen an I-cord, that I know of! Just started crocheting amagarumi toys for babies in my family. Didnt know what to use for around their neck, that looked cute. I've seen videos on these but didn't have a need for them. So I just watched 5 videos on I-cords and yours is easiest to follow. I'm going to try it and see if it will work for what I need. Its kinda crazy how you crochet it but I can see it looks like knitting. Very cute. Thank you for the great video with clear instructions. I am doing a WestKnits shawl and someone suggested crocheting the i-cords instead of knitting them, as someone who does both crafts I loved the idea. Thank you so much for this great tutorial to add to my toolbox!
Thanks! I crocheted my first i-cord from written instructions (no pictures or illustrations) about a month ago ... ripped it apart several times over 3 days. Visual aids definitely needed the first time around!
Of all the i-cords videos I watched, I found your method of pinching the 2 loops with your fingernails the easiest. I was getting so frustrated that I was shopping for a machine that makes them. Thank you very much for this video.
Thank you for this tutorial. Getting ready to fly internationally and I've only knitted I-cords using DPN's. I knew that 6" DPN's weren't going to be allowed in my carry on, so was packing them in my checked bag.... now I can just use my crochet hooks and have something I can work on during my 14-hour flight.
I love the I-cord. I’m trying out this tutorial for my 4th of July reading glasses strap. I discovered that if I put a stitch mark on the loop farthest from hook it won’t get away from me. It eliminates of having to start all over again 😃.
Your tutorials are super awesome! Youve taken me from only doing horrible stuff out of just the slip stitch, to just having finished a thing out of the treble stitch, that ACTUALLY has straight edges, and having a favorite stitch! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for showing this I was trying to remember how to crochet an i-cord the other day and I just couldn't remember for the life of me. I'm much more familiar with knitted I chords. So thank you I'll put this on my saved tips list.
Thank you for making such a clear video :) I have made a crochet i cord before but I did not really understand what was going on and it was really terrible- now I know that I actually know how to do it and can add it to my tool kit
No I have never made one. I saw some bags with handles made of I -cord and always wanted to learn how to make it. Thank you for the lesson. Many blessings!
I found that using a DPN in a size close to the hook to hold the two stitches when you take them off to be super helpful, especially if you're making a thick cord holding a few strands of yarn together.
This is so awesome, I have never seen an I*cord (well, I have probably seen them and not known what it was) and I found it by accident looking for another pattern. Can't wait to use this for all sorts of things. Thank you for the simple and clear video.
I think it's fun to use the little I cord makers with the crank. But, you can't use all thicknesses of yarn with those, so this is good to know how to do. I'll use this when finishing off a potholder. Thank you!
Thank you so very much I have been trying and trying to make I cord nothing help who knew you can do this . I know I didn't and I'm 41 lol 😂😂😂 I know how to do it now thank you so much for making this video
Thanks. I am thinking of crocheting toddler mittens for my grandson and would like to attach each to I-cord ends. Thread each mitten down a jacket sleeve with the I-cord extending from one mitten, around the inside back of the jacket, down the sleeve to the other mitten. No more lost mittens!
Thnak you for yr video - hv a question: found a pattern for a "worry flower" but it uses an i-cord which I hv never done but all the videos I see start with 3 chains - in the pattern it states to make a 6-chain i-cord how wud u go about making that??? Wud u be able to help me out with that - many tks for yr help. Will try yr 3-chain for practice. Many tks.
Sorry I missed you. You sound much better. 😉 I'm definitely going to try this. It looks like your yarn has a bit of a stretch, is it easier learning this with a yarn that has more give?

I mostly crochet. But I found it easier to knit one, (go figure). But I just crocheted one with you! Thanks for the tutorial!
Oh wow! I just made a small bag and wanted just the right strap, this is perfect, thanks so much 💗
Yay!!

Thank you SO much!! Been trying to do this for WEEKS, but all the other tutorials were super confusing!

So handy for many things. I learned to make it, but didn't get back to it for a while. Thanks.
This will be my first crocheted I-Cord. Very simple. Thanks for great instructions and video!!

At first it is hard but after a little while it got easier. Thanks so much!!!
Omg thank you. I’ve just bought yarn to make tiebacks for my caravan curtains perfect to use and add a tassel to finish ❤

Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. Very much easy to follow. Made one and it looks awesome.
Thanks so much! Your video is the 3rd I have watched this morning and you explained it so well I finally made a cord!! Thanks again!💕
It looks like it should be harder than this! Thank you for helping us learn!!
Great idea, I dropped a special cup and need a new handle..voila! !! Thank you so much!!!
Nice and slow. Good choice of yarn and hook colours, nice and clear
Thank you so very much I have been trying and trying to make I cord nothing help who knew you can do this . I know I didn't and I'm 41 lol 😂😂😂 I know how to do it now thank you so much for making this video
I'm so glad it helped!!
Thank you for sharing. I needed a refresher. My friend needs a cord for his pj bottoms.
Thank you so much, it’s better than crocheting a chain for a strap!
Thanks. I am thinking of crocheting toddler mittens for my grandson and would like to attach each to I-cord ends. Thread each mitten down a jacket sleeve with the I-cord extending from one mitten, around the inside back of the jacket, down the sleeve to the other mitten. No more lost mittens!
This was the perfect tutorial! Thank you very much! :)
Thanks for sharing, it was nicely explained.
Thank you. I need to make a few long strings for my renaissance outfit and finger loop braiding doesn't work well for long cords
Definitely will come in handy. Thanks for this tutorial.

This is really AWESOME. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you, I learnt something new today❤️
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
I use a cable needle (usually used in knitting) to put my loops on so I don't accidentally loose them.
Best I cord tut
If you add more chains at the beginning does it effect the width of the i-cord?
Great question, will definitely try and see!
Very easy to follow! Thanks 💛

I’m making a tote and would like to make it longer and attach to bag. Any advice?
Thank you, I was gonna purchase an icord maker but now I dont have too.
I learned making a crochet i-cord by slipping the 2 sts onto a spare dpn knitting needle so you don't drop them.
Beautiful.Aprendi fácil.Interessante.Brasil.

Can we use I cord instead of Foundation Single Crochet for sweater?
Hi thank you just what i needed it
Very helpful
What brand of hook is this. It looks really easy to use
Really cool!
Love it just made it thanks
OK, what if.. We try to do it with double sided needle? Then maybe we don't have to do that slip of thing.. what do you think?
Could you please let me know what yarn and size hook you are using in this video. Thank you..
Is this the same as what you get with a French knitting bee?
I dunno if anyone else has asked this. Can you do this in 2 or more colors?
This is so awesome✨✨
