Jake, I'm glad to see your well on your way to solve your problem with the cylinder. I imagine you two will be flying in & out of Savannah / Hilton Head Airport. With the cost of gas today. While I live in Georgia I go to Charleston & Mt. Pleasant S. Carolina. As they always say: If you can't be good, be good at-it! Catch you on the next one!!!
@@DudeRanchDIY Yep, worked there for 5 years a lifetime ago, commuted back and forth from Hilton Head. Sad to see the culture there has shifted over the past 20 years..
Good video. That should help to solve your problem with the large pin. You are coming close to my area on your trip to Savannah. Have a fun safe trip. Keep up the good work.
@@DudeRanchDIY I am located about 50 miles west of Atlanta. I don't think you will break the 1 inch pin, you will probably break something else before the pin. Good luck I am looking forward to seeing the splitter in action.
Hope you had a Good time in Savannah at your friend's wedding. I was working on Wreaths Across America Beaufort. So I wasn't able to catch up with you. Hope the reassembly went well. Have a Safe Day
I think I saw mentioned somewhere that it is best not to use teflon tape in a hydraulic system and I thought I saw you put it on the one fitting of the new cylinder. Of course, I could be wrong, but I am sure someone else will correct me if that is the case. Great video as usual.
I think there are many different opinions on this because I have not been able to get a straight answer either… I was told however by a few people that NPT fittings need some sort of sealer whether it be Teflon tape or thread compound. I find the thread compound to make kind of a mess and there was already Teflon tape on the fittings when I remove them so I decided to stick with this!
Teflon tape floating through a tight clearance hydraulic pump is NOT good. Bad things happen to it. Flare fittings don’t need any type of sealant. Hydraulic fittings are actually considered NPT(F) national pipe thread Fuel. They seal by physically tightening them so much the threads are actually deformed and then destroyed if you ever take it apart. National Pipe Thread (NTP) actually have openings in the root of the thread that are never sealed without some sort of dope, Teflon or sealant. And then it will be dependent on the chemical or material in the pipes if the sealant is compatible.
Great job Don’t forget the oil filter
I have a new one on the way! Thanks Bill!
Great video Jake, enjoy your trip!
You do it all jake!
I try when I can! Still considering the Cormidi? Thanks for watching!
@@DudeRanchDIY ohh yeah, 4 sure. that thing is sick! I gota wait till January 1 fir tax purposes
You were wrong! Not boring at all.great idea using the bladder as a catch all. You made it look easy.
Glad you enjoyed Mike! The bladder worked well, just need to find the time to pick up the new hydraulic fluid!

I’m hoping it doesn’t break that big 1” pin!! Savannah was great, where abouts are you Steve?

Nice job god bless
Thank you!
Are you still using this machine at all or is it mothballed indefinitely?
Chris has been using it at his house.
