Ground up restored. It had the same owner for 32 years. Only 1/3 of 1% of the Model As built in 1929 were woody station wagons. This is the woody that started it all, actually it could be the first SUV too! The first one was built for Edsel Ford's Maine estate. Then Murray coach builders put these into production using wood from Ford's forestry in Iron Mountain MI. We recently purchased it from the Claude O estate. He had a full time mechanic maintaining his cars because he wanted to be able to drive any car at any time.
EXTERIOR: It is absolutely show quality condition. All metal fenders, aprons, hood. It is laser straight, there's no signs of rust, damage or poor body work. The paint is polished smooth like glass. It is not aged or cracking. This is the nicest paint I've seen on a Model A. It still has the original Murray body emblem. All the body weltings were replaced. It has a swing out windshield with new gaskets. Correct ribbed rubber running board covers. The wood is in excellent condition, I don't see any issues. I believe it is maple with birch inserts. The varnish brings out a beautiful golden tone. Correct cobra grain top and visor. Canvas snap on windows look new, we do not have them for the front doors. Correct Ford script headlights and glass lenses, correct dual taillights. Chrome radiator shell with a Motometer radiator cap. Correct Spartan AHOOGA horn. Bumper and door handles look new. The wire wheels are restored and has reproduction Firestone tires. There's even a 5th spare mounted on the driver fender.
INTERIOR: It is completely refinished like new. There's refinished wood everywhere, floor to ceiling! The wood is all refinished. The dash is painted a satin black, new chrome instrument panel, correct pop out ignition and the floating gas gauge. Correct rubber mat on the floor. 3 rows of seat. They were completely rebuilt- painted springs, replaced burlap and correct upholstery. 2nd and 3rd row seats flip forward and are removable.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original 4 cylinder, 40 horsepower motor. Everything has been disassembled and restored to authentic condition. Even the hoses and clamps are reproduction. The starter has just been rebuilt.
UNDERSIDE: It is exceptionally clean. You can tell it was all apart during restoration. Rust free, clean metal with a smooth satin black finish. All the nuts and bolts are clean, you could remove any one of them with a wrench. Bottom of the motor and the 3-speed transmission are clean. Original style exhaust.
This is a show quality restoration of a very rare Model A. The As are still popular to this day. They are cute, even the way they sound. They are easy to get parts for, easy to work on. This one can be driven, shown and enjoyed!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

I'll be honest and say that I am awestruck over the quality workmanship in this unique Model A. I've seen many A's, but never knew this model existed. This one is so impeccably done that the metal, as Mr. Grams stated, looks like glass. As a side note, the very first thing that comes to mind is the era in which it was built ..... This gem has seen the worst and best of times. The stories it could tell, having lived through the Great Depression, WWII and many things between and after! And another one that is priced unbelievably low! What a precious piece of American history! Well built, well shown and very well priced.
