  • As I move along in my Ford Transit 2021 cargo camper van build, the 1/2" plywood subfloor had to go. It wasn't stable enough, it warped, I didn't have it extending 1.25" toward the rear to meet up with the plastic entry step cover from Ford, etc. And, it was time to use 3M 5200 to permanently mount some of the floor joists. The extra bit toward the driver wheel well adds additional support under the 2 x 330Ah Victron Energy lithium batteries.
Those joists are positioned to handle weight distribution from above. The subfloor will be screwed into it with counter sunk stainless self tapping metal screws. And, some parts of extruded aluminum modules will also be attached to the joists down through the subfloor for added strength. Between the joists will be the same 1" green foam you saw in previous videos.
How did you do your subfloor?
