I'm so out of touch with new technology that I'm literally watching this on my LG Harmony 3 phone (which I loathe btw) and just now learned LG no longer makes phones. Time to upgrade! 🤦♀️
That's why the G6 was one of my favorites. There were no gimmicks- it was just a good, honest smartphone that had all the expected features and did most of them very well, for a price that was a couple notches lower than competing flagships. For that reason, I felt it was the spiritual successor to the G3 (which I also loved).
Noth8ing was wrong with their phones, People are just stupid, they only buy Samsung or Apple. LG Does everything a SAMSUNG can do - its all about Marketing!! Samsung is the TOP phone seller in the world, then Hauwei and then APPLE. (its all marketing)
I'm super sad about LG. I loved my LG V60, G7,G6, G5,G4,G2,G1. I want someone to do a Kickstarter or something to bring it back for another company to make more innovative phones. I just hope that's not Samsung
Iyaz and Bridget are my favorite on cnet. Lots of best wishes, love and happy new year to both of them and entire cnet team for creating amazing content
Especially for 2022 will the end of life support of BlackBerry legacy phones, BlackBerry 10, 7.1 and PlayBook 2.4 OS on January 4, 2022. One of the first story of the the that died in 2022.
Well it’s 2023 now and I’m still very happy with my original Apple AirPods, all 6 of them. I love your energy, your smile, and those beautiful blue eyes! Keep up the great work!
Cool video Bridget! and R.I.P the all knowledgeable Yahoo answers Lol, all those rollable phones disappeared. I'm expecting to see atleast one this year.
My first "mobile" phone was a Lucky Goldstar (you can see why they changed to LG) around 1996. The battery life was so poor I had to constantly tether it to a transformer. Otherwise, it worked great.
My first flip phone was an LG and I'm currently rocking a very capable LG G7. Planning to upgrade soon, but I'll miss some of the quirky features of LG's phones.
I am very surprised that neither the 2020 or 2021 editions of this video didn't mention Adobe Flash being discontinued. It was used in so many web sites, and then Adobe decided not to support it any longer and completely discontinued it in 2021.
Personally I love my LG phones. Always switch between samsung and LG and currenly am super happy with my LG Wing. So bummed about that rollable LG phone. That would have been epic
Aww, I'm sad to hear about LG phones! I used to have one before I got my samsung and it was great! I wish they'd bring back that T-sliding double screened phone cuz I prefer that over Samsung's weird folding phone. Also sad to hear Cortana is being discontinued. I had a windows phone for a couple years and it was awful (will NEVER get one again!) But Cortana was the best thing about it. Even better than Siri imo. I wish Microsoft would sell Cortana to Samsung so I could have her on my galaxy cuz Bixby is terrible! My galaxy is pretty great, I'd be in heaven if Cortana was the partnering AI!
@@Wolfennsteinn - Samsung? If yes, my favorite Samsung story is how when sued by Apple for patent infringement, Samsung responded to the courts request for their product development documentation. Samsung complied with a single page memo from their company President saying only “All employees are to immediately destroy all product development documentation containing “Apple” or how they developed their cell phone technology.”
I'm surprised Google cardboard hung around all the way until 2021. Even from the get-go it was terrible, and largely responsible for a lot of people claiming they "tried" VR, and it's "just not for me". Sure, back in 2016 it was either that or the $1000 Vive or Rift, but cheaper headsets quickly came out and even the Vive and Rift themselves fell in price over time. No idea why Google would continue supporting it when you could get a proper VR headset for $250, like the Samsung Odyssey.
No , no good riddance, its has already been established as a pillar and an icon of the internet.. shutting it down is literally shutting down history! I wish she knew about funny yahoo answers memes, she would literally change her mind! At least it was a superb source of endless entertainment!
LG took these to it's grave: LG G4 (and other phones) WiFi and Bluetooth problems. They fixed the bootloop issue only if it was within warranty. There should have been a recall.
LG is that good guy the ladies avoid. Until he leaves, that's when they miss his presence.
that is... an astute analogy. +1 (shout out to google zones or whatev. it was called)
Bro this is 💯
More like The wierd pimple guy with bad hygiene that leaves skidmarks everywhere he sits.
I wish i had more LG products in my home!
Bridget needs to do more CNET videos. They are by far my favorite.
she will start her own channel soon probably ahaha.
she used to do a show called loaded but had to stop because of the harassment. The comments were always like
"load me up baby"
@@xsuploader that's hilarious
@@xsuploader this makes me so sad
She is good.

LG is an example of trying to be too innovative and not focusing on fixing their current phones.

The last of the smartphone was LG Velvet 5G.
Lg have the first smartphone with ultrawide lens and ios
You will cry back for them when iPhone 30 it just same as now

Multiple companies are innovating with smartphones. Not just Samsung.
LG gave up. It's their fault. Good riddance. 👍
Apple has no innovation, Samsung is trying to find a copy somewhere, and LG died. The Samsung thing is just what've I've known so don't attack me.
Iyaz and Bridget are my favorite on cnet. Lots of best wishes, love and happy new year to both of them and entire cnet team for creating amazing content
RIP LG! You will be missed

They buried themselves.
No pity.
"that's if... we make it through another year" is the quote that won't die in 2022
Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for all the fun videos Bridget! Love the off the cuff delivery!
My college sent out a custom Google Cardboard pieces to tour the school back in 2016. Was really exciting for me.
The Matrix Resurrections taught me that tech never really dies… it inevitably gets repackaged and forced upon us against our will😎👍
Like Windows? LMAO
Yahoo answers was so useful when it came to tech and games 😭
Havent watched a CNET video in a while, i really like the host and this video format!
I'll watch anything with Bridget in it
Well it’s 2023 now and I’m still very happy with my original Apple AirPods, all 6 of them. I love your energy, your smile, and those beautiful blue eyes! Keep up the great work!
Man I miss LG. I used to have an LG slider phone back in the days, and I loved that thing.
Love Bridget she's my favorite CNET creator ❤️
I did the exact phone transition (enV for the 3GS) and I still miss that tactile full keyboard and that snap. RIP LG phones.
I always look forward to these every year.
Cool video Bridget! and R.I.P the all knowledgeable Yahoo answers Lol, all those rollable phones disappeared. I'm expecting to see atleast one this year.
I only use Cortana’s voice to read books and articles on my computer only because it sounds more natural than other voices.
I still miss my Envy Touch.
Whoever made those names for the time stamps needs a raise lmao
Thinking about cortana barely hanging nowadays is kinda depressing
I love my HomePod speakers especially as I got them on sale. They still sound awesome.
Bridget Carey is just great at hear videos. CNET Update was legendary back in the day.
I've had a lot of different phones, but my LG G6 is the first smartphone I ever had that wasn't terrible. It's still a good phone.
Harmony Remote Controls. I still have three of them around my house and they made my life SO much easier (once you get them working properly.)
My first "mobile" phone was a Lucky Goldstar (you can see why they changed to LG) around 1996. The battery life was so poor I had to constantly tether it to a transformer. Otherwise, it worked great.

how in world no big tech corporate had not yet , hired this delightful human being
LG phones bringing Wide Angle camera to the masses. Took 2 years or so for Samsung to catch up.
And in software, Samsung absolutely DESTROYS LG with One UI. 😂😂😂
LG may have shut down their phone division but Samsun is developing a sliding screen like that one LG was working on.
Luv these year end videos
I love this annual series! It reassures me that my FOMO is unnecessary :)
Wow this host is my new favourite, she's so bubbly and entertaining

Sad to see the apple touch bar being retired. It was so unique and just downright cool!
Personally I love my LG phones. Always switch between samsung and LG and currenly am super happy with my LG Wing. So bummed about that rollable LG phone. That would have been epic
My mom still uses her LG Phone from 5+ years ago when she got it and it still runs very good
Blackberry also died. I have one friend that has gone into withdrawals over that.

Google Play Music: Solid Feature Pack Player.
UA-cam Music: Back to the drawing board.
Sorry to see Periscope go. It was a unique service.
I remember having the Google vr cardboard box. It was a fun little toy for my note 5 lol

yeah but the windows users need her too!
Cortana was soooooomuch smarter than Siri ever hopes to be. I miss her soooo much.
Why I enjoy Techmoan. he acts like a grown up and no stupid voices.
You literally zoomed in on my hometown when discussing periscope and meerkat… 👋🏾
Cortana needs to go back
I never knew movie pass was reinstated! I might have to re subscribe to it. I used to love that service!
LG stands for Long Gone.

Alphabet/Google, youtube, facebook/meta, and twitter all need to go away. Yikyak was less toxic than any of those.
Project Loon is also died recently!
i'm sad to see lg go. it was super affordable with great specs.
Way to geek out! Love your videos!
Yahoo answers was only used to get school answers before quizlet took over.
Thanks, this video was informative and entertaining.
One tech thing that died in 2021 is Google's Stadia service. A service that had been plagued with mismanagement since day one.
You missed Blackberry....its gone this month (January 2022)
My LV20, 30 . 40 etc with its quad dac is still going strong !!
I had Periscope enabled in my Restream. It was just another place to dump video files.
Sliding screen is still in the works though? Samsung and OPPO already has working prototype and all they need is a better screen.
LG mini was my last dumb phone before I got the iPhone 5. It was so cool, looked like a zippo!
I miss LG.. watching this on my lg g8
Bridget Carey, brilliant as usual
Periscope was so fun, I used to go go there and troll people. Lol.
Love to see FACEBOOK 'META' disappear.
In your dreams. 😂😂😂
I still love my original homepod 🥺 I'm sad that apple quit homepod to focus one the mini side 😪
My iPad Air is no longer supported by Apple and it’s my go to tablet! Sigh oh my! Jappy new year!
I got that cardboard from TeamCoco. It’s a collectible.
Had no idea periscope closed. I left Twitter but used periscope up till 2019.
Bridget makes me feel warm inside
Rip my LG....forever it will be missed 😢
Great video !!
I have my lg 40 and I’m sad that they stopped making phones😢
I am looking forward to Movie pass coming back...for probably a few months
Very glad this segment hasn’t died of yet!
YAY, good to see Shattuck Cinemas in Berkeley, CA 8:09/9:50 I used to go there. 🙂
Bridget... you rock!
I have the LG Wing and im happy with it not getting another phone any time soon
WOW IT WORKED!!!!! THANKS MAN
Love these!! Thanks!!
Lynn La left CNET this year 😥
Who??

Overly focus on innovation on hardware killed them. Software suffered, hardware quality suffered, service suffered.

It’s an annual thing!!
@7:55 That burns 🔥 Samsung burns 🤣
UA-cam Music is some of the most unorganised software around compared to Google Play Music - way better UI...
That’s your tech news update
Killing off cortana hit different. A Nokia was my first real phone in the 7th grade ://
LG took these to it's grave: LG G4 (and other phones) WiFi and Bluetooth problems. They fixed the bootloop issue only if it was within warranty. There should have been a recall.
Still own and love my LG Wing. It will be hard when it dies and i have to go back to copy'n'paste phones
Buy another Wing.
This was more entertaining than the new tech in CES22
She’s quite the actor .
Google play music turning into UA-cam music still upsets me. It was so much easier to use and why is there no landscape mode yet UA-cam?
Best thing about this video is her big beautiful blue eyes - I love them
