I don't see pong krell as incompetent Delusional yes, but incompetent no he was actually skilled in trickery while he was overconfident he was not stupid but that's just my opinion.
I think he meant incompetent in judgment of assuming Count Duku would connect the dots to make him an apprentice. Also his lack of a contingency plan in case shyt hit the fan. To me he’s the perfect example of great strategic book smarts but lacking in the common sense department.
Krell wasn’t incompetent, he was a brutal tactician that very nearly singlehandedly turned around the Battle of the Umbara in the Separatist favour, he sent the 501st and the 212th two of the most elite clone battalions through the entire Clone Wars. He was very under-utilised, he could’ve been a powerful ally to the Sith, perhaps he could’ve even become an inquisitor in the time of the Empire. The mere fact that through his physiology he can wield two double bladed lightsabers is just awesome in and of itself. He was prideful and supremely overconfident, with a god complex over the clones to be sure and he did lack a bit of common sense in not preparing for the eventuality of discovery to a better degree, an escape plan (which I don’t think was too important as I’ll explain further on) or even contacting Dooku hitherto the mission. As I said, Krell was very overconfident and if he had not been followed by some clever artifice from Tup, he’d have most likely escaped, because come on, he was shredding the clones, no a single master bolt penetrated his guard for God sake, he even took them on without lightsabers just to flex his power. Additionally Krell may well be one of the most enlightened Jedi of all time, he foresaw Order 66 and the collapse of the Republic, something that not even Yoda could do until too late.
You got Luminara so perfect. She was TOO perfect, to the point where she wasn’t. I honestly blame Luminara for Barriss’s fall to the dark side. Sucks we didn’t get to see Luminara’s reaction to it

No one: Shaak Ti: "chancellor Palpatine, in this presentation, I will share with you that there is something wrong with the inhibitor chips in the clones. As you can see..." *dies by changing to the next slide* Palpatine: "ironic"
I’d make the argument that Mace Windu suffered from some incompetence. While his power was vast, his forsight wasn’t. He played a massive role in Anakin turning to the dark side, and had he showed Anakin some trust, Anakin would likely have been more willing to go along with the Jedi Council’s requests.
Luminara is ironically what many would consider an ideal Jedi atleast on paper, skilled in the Force and Lightsaber techniques as well as being emotionally detached...and it's those same traits that pretty much perfectly show why the Jedi were so flawed at that point in time.
He only fought Clones though. Children with lightsabers have been shown to be able to take down a few Clones before being gunned down, the fact he ran into the jungle (the hardest place the Clones have ever fought in) and was still defeated really only shows how average he was.

Shaak Ti didn't "decide" to bring the clone to palps, she was just heeding his requests/orders like every other Jedi at the time. She also listened to Fives and had no reason to doubt the Kaminoans' research. Just because she was in charge of overseeing the clones' training doesn't mean she can be blamed for Order 66 because palps had the entire Jedi council fooled as well as everyone else involved. It wasn't Shaak's responsibility to speculate about or even doubt the chancellor... if anything that would have been up to Yoda or Mace. Just sticking up for one of my favorite Jedi of the clone wars.
Even if it wasn’t it’s called common sense I mean there has to be some curiosity there. If Rex can figure it out with less resources she could have. She’s a cheesy melty mongoloid.
YES THANK YOU 100% agree!!! Hindsight makes everyone think that they would’ve done better. You can’t blame one person for everything. If anything, these haters are the same people who probably think they could take on Darth Sidious...like Coleman Trebor but ok go off lol
Shaak Ti was a great fighter, but I feel like there was so much more that she could have done. I think Star Wars did her injustice by not giving her enough screen time. She was a really good fighter, especially in the battle of Kamino, and if Palatine hadn’t made fives seem like he was trying to assassinate Palpatine, she might have presented it to the Jedi council, as she did seem to believe Fives. Also, she managed to hold up against General Grievous for some time. In Legends, she was actually a very good fighter. I think Star Wars just made her too minor of a character for a Jedi that supervised the cloning process.
Along with characters like General Grievous, Shaak Ti was another character that was nerfed. Back in the 2003 Clone Wars micro series she was a force to be reckon with.
I can excuse that time against windu in revenge of the sith, but against rey? It made him seem like a noob who only knew one good move and didn't know what to do when he met someone who can counter it instead of one of the smartest and most powerful dark side users ever.
Many parts of the Expanded Universe disagree with you. Jedi were generals, soldiers, war leaders, and they had a good track record for 25K years. That 15K years more than the Imperium of Man, since they were older than the Republic and agreed to join them after the Republic was founded. Chewbacca's tribe learned how to fight due to Qui-Gon Jinn instructing them, and Dooku was an expert war leader who trained impressive military generals like Sev'Rance Tann and General Grievous. Revan and Malak were two more examples, since the former destroyed the Mandalorian armada, and the latter, when he went rogue, nearly destroyed the Republic. Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are two more examples of great military leaders, and we see them outwit all sorts of foes, from the comical to the deadly serious. There's also Echuu Shen-Jon, Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, among others. There's a reason why Leia wanted to fetch Obi-Wan, why she made a stop on Tatooine: Obi-Wan was to be the Rebellion's war leader. That's right: if everything went according to plan, Kenobi would practically be the Rebellion's shogun. They wouldn't trust a Jedi with that much power if he wasn't good at war, and we saw him explain imperial tactics to Luke a few moments after they met.
@@HolyknightVader999 Yeah but not all Jedi were good leaders. Plus the Jedi order from the movies did have any war experience since ~ 1000 year. Plus can you recommend any good star wars legends books

The conditions that Sidious exploited, he allowed to fester. _[Really, the Jedi were just twiddling their thumbs under his guidance]._ Encouraged a closed mindset in the Jedi Order and persecuted any deviation from a very narrow viewpoint, thus making the Order very inflexible and ossified, leading to stagnation. _[imagine if the teachings of other Orders were examined with a open mindset and any useful aspects co-opted, and the Orders tolerated - imagine if the abilities of the Grey Jedi were considered just another Form of combat and not a heresy]_ Being so uncomfortable about sexual issues that he has the entire Order living a celibate lifestyle - cause that never causes problems in a closed religious order. _[High Midiclorin counts are a genetic trait, by stopping anyone who's been identified with a high count from reproducing, he is removing them from the gene pool - imagine a Bene Gesserit style breeding program, in a little while there works be a lot more powerful Jedi to train, and they would be born and raised in-house without the issue of "kidnapping"]_ And it leads to emotional issues when a Jedi falls for someone, that can lead them to the Dark side due to the emotional conflict. _[if Anakin had been allowed to openly have a relationship with Padme he might not have gone postal. But you have to admit _*_it was a lucky longshot._*_ A far better option would be to gather as many survivors of the purge as possible, and do a runner to the unknown regions. Set up a mobile base and start a new Order with as many recruits as you can safely get, teaching them to hide from Force detection as their first lesson. And that includes the children of your enemy, one of whom is the most powerful natural Force users of his generation - leaving him untrained on a moisture farm is just a waste of potential, and what if he joins the Empire or his dad is feeling sentimental (which is in character) and decides to check on the fam? And raising siblings apart and then letting them meet each other without knowing they're related - that's just a incest risk]._ Relying on a FLUKE, that's just a abbreviated way of saying Fucking LUKE. So this Jedi master is one of the most skilled individual fighters - and one of the worst leaders in galactic history. Would you hire him for a managerial position?
TBH I think Yoda was tired of all this shit so he and Sideous made a plan so he could retire in peace. It makes sense when we see Yoda in Ep V acting mischievous. He’s just being himself. Poor green thing didn’t know what he gotten himself into
Don't forget that despite his "pacifist" ideals for his order, he WILLINGLY allowed his Jedi peacekeepers with no military experience to become soldiers and killers, completely contradicting his ideals. He ALSO gave clearance for a fourteen year old child to go into a massive campaign on Christophsis, which is literally a war crime.
casbott I hear you on this answer about his character being flawed in the movies, but personally I feel you’re looking at this in the wrong way. To me, his incompetences during Palpatine’s reign are a direct result of Palpatine’s unimaginable power. He is the strongest Sith Lord ever (Lucas has said so) and he uses that power to cloud the Jedi’s judgement, even Yoda. Yoda didn’t make all of those Order rules, and the no relationships thing comes from Jedi being able to control their emotions and accept the loss of love, which Anakin never showed the ability to do. Based on your answer I’m sure you’re aware of a lot of this and I’m sure we could go on for years lol, just my thoughts on his failure to see the downfall are due to Sidious’ ability to cloud their foresight/awareness.

Legends continuity had it that Trebor had taken Dooku by surprise; if not for Jango Fett, he might have killed Dooku then and there with that element of surprise.
Sooooo, why would Dooku (a dedicated duelist and one of the few with a modicum of experience having been the commander during the Battle of Galidraan) not be focusing on using his precognition at max power since there were, y'know, blaster bolts being deflected in all directions. It might be specialized precog geared towards the actions/intentions of living beings so not very good for friendly fire, but ideal for the bolts a few users of Shien and Soresu must've tried aiming their deflections in that direction given most of the CIS high command were literally just standing there with no cover or shields.
@@branphillips9546 you mean the same arrogant bastard that has been captured by Hondo Honaka? Dooku is a supreme fighter and the worthy student of Yoda (in the sense of capacity and power) but it's also a very arrogant and extremely self-confident man
Have to defend Coleman Trebor for a moment: a look on Wookiepedia explained that Jango's gun is so freakishly powerful it can actually push a lightsaber's back. That's what happened with Trebor: the bolt fron Jango's gun pushed back his lightsaber and he instinctively looked at it wondering why did it feel it had been shot with a heavy blaster rifle, and in that split second he got shot himself. Fully agree on the others, especially Luminara's mess with Barriss Offee.

“Coleman Trebor lacked a mastery of combat.” Yeah right. Wookieepedia itself said that Coleman’s skills with a lightsaber were legendary. While it is true that Jango Fett was a master bounty hunter and a skilled shot, I think the only reason Fett won that exchange was luck. And possibly because Trebor was focused on Dooku.
Most Jedi didn’t focus on lightsaber skills before the clone wars because there wasn’t much threat in the universe as they thought the Sith were extinct so that is why there were so many losses during the rescue attempt on Geonosis including Coleman Trebor
Darth Maul proved otherwise. 10 years of training should be enough to get basic blaster deflection skills and combat techniques and at least Yoda and Windu knew about it

Hey Alan, I have a question and a theory: Question: how comes in the StarWars universe they haven't mastered regrowing of body parts, or even transplants, yet they have mastered cloning. Why does Anakin and Luke get robotic hands instead of regrowing them, you would have thought they would have mastered it? - same goes for Darth Maul's legs and Count Dooku's hands if he survived. Theory: in the first couple of episodes of the mandetlorian you see the doctor and on his uniform is the cloning symbol. What if they want baby yoda to assist in the cloning of all those Emperor Palpatine, cus if out the kid maybe they couldn't make those clones force sensitive. This would mean that this tided into episode 9 nicely and why they want the baby so badly. What do you think?
Reality tells us that cloning is easier than regeneration aswell, and it makes sense. Growing a lifeform is easier than replacing a lost part of a fully grown life form.

onepiecebuff 3 I agree.
Yea pongo krelli was actually
Quite good just because he didn't abide by the Jedi order's
Rules doesn't make him incompetent

Why did I imagine Shaak Ti doing a PowerPoint presentation for Palpatine
Because it's just such a "Shaak Ti" thing to do.
It's what comes to mind when you hear, "presentation," in the context of providing information to someone, especially with how ubiquitous PowerPoint is.
No one:

I’d make the argument that Mace Windu suffered from some incompetence. While his power was vast, his forsight wasn’t. He played a massive role in Anakin turning to the dark side, and had he showed Anakin some trust, Anakin would likely have been more willing to go along with the Jedi Council’s requests.
Luminara is ironically what many would consider an ideal Jedi atleast on paper, skilled in the Force and Lightsaber techniques as well as being emotionally detached...and it's those same traits that pretty much perfectly show why the Jedi were so flawed at that point in time.

@@GenerationTech im very disappointed that you didnt reference these Jedi as those that had "gone full potato"

Lets see… incompetent Jedi - checklist time.
Lets the entire Jedi Order get destroyed on his watch _[worse fail ever]._
Lets the Republic that has stood for thousands of years get overthrown and replaced by the Galactic Empire - based on Sith principles. _[also pretty bad]._
His own Apprentice is instrumental in the destruction _[okay, Obi-Wan shares that distinction]._
Had plenty of chances to see it coming and failed to recognise them _[actually pretty common, but when you're the boss… the galactic credit stops with you]._
Oversaw the gradual corrosion and corruption of the Republic and the degradation of the outer rim *over centuries,* along with tolerating a massive slavery problem - when he had the resources and personnel to do something about it generations before it came to a head. The conditions that Sidious exploited, he allowed to fester. _[Really, the Jedi were just twiddling their thumbs under his guidance]._
Encouraged a closed mindset in the Jedi Order and persecuted any deviation from a very narrow viewpoint, thus making the Order very inflexible and ossified, leading to stagnation. _[imagine if the teachings of other Orders were examined with a open mindset and any useful aspects co-opted, and the Orders tolerated - imagine if the abilities of the Grey Jedi were considered just another Form of combat and not a heresy]_
Being so uncomfortable about sexual issues that he has the entire Order living a celibate lifestyle - cause that never causes problems in a closed religious order. _[High Midiclorin counts are a genetic trait, by stopping anyone who's been identified with a high count from reproducing, he is removing them from the gene pool - imagine a Bene Gesserit style breeding program, in a little while there works be a lot more powerful Jedi to train, and they would be born and raised in-house without the issue of "kidnapping"]_
And it leads to emotional issues when a Jedi falls for someone, that can lead them to the Dark side due to the emotional conflict. _[if Anakin had been allowed to openly have a relationship with Padme he might not have gone postal. The Jedi Order really needed a reformation movement which allows married ̶P̶r̶i̶e̶s̶t̶ M̶i̶n̶i̶s̶t̶e̶r̶s…I mean Knights]._
When it all went to Bantha droppings and the Order was wiped out and the Republic fell, his counter move was to go hide in a swamp and sulk - hoping that salvation would just crash land in the nearest pond. _[okay, that actually did work. And raising siblings apart and then letting them meet each other without knowing they're related - that's just a incest risk]._
Relying on a FLUKE, that's just a abbreviated way of saying Fucking LUKE.
I agree with everything you said, but fuck you. Don’t disrespecc my homie Yoda.
Security guard position, more like it. That, or bouncer.
casbott I hear you on this answer about his character being flawed in the movies, but personally I feel you’re looking at this in the wrong way.

Forgot windu. He withheld vital information that could have saved millions all in the name of need to know basis.
What vital information? You mean when Anakin told him about Palpatine being a sith? He didnt keep that to himself. Did he not confront him afterwards and almost won until Anakin interfered
@@hectorvelazquez5254 from the most recent clone wars episodes when ahsoka made efforts to communicate her knowledge to the jedi council it was windu who told her it was non of her damn business. Windu has a long history of being a dick and withholding vital information until the last minute.
I would wager that if he was more open and willing to communicate a lot of bad shit could have been avoided. Anakin even stated that partially the reason he turned to the dark side was because the council didn't trust him namely windu.
@@rabidspiders01 Either way Ahsoka had a second shot of telling Yoda about Mauls vision but chose not to and kept it to herself. So technically she also took part

@@hectorvelazquez5254 ahsoka just like anakin distrusted the jedi. When a person or organization rubs you the wrong way its kinda hard to communicate with them especially if the first response you get is fuck off.... you get what you get.
I feared everyone forgot the greatness of Grand Master Coleman Trebor. I'm glad this is not true
How would Forerunner ground forces from Halo with their Tier-12 to Tier-18 fair in combat with the ground forces of the Warhammer 40k factions?
Depends: Each 40k faction in its prime (Eldar, Humans, Necrons) would be an equal foe but in their current state Forerunners would wipe them - with losses nontheless.
40k is overrated
@@leiferikson850
How would ground combat go? Like
Space Marines and Guardsmen against the Forerunners soldiers or the vehicles of the Warhammer 40k factions against the Forerunner vehicles.
I think the forerunners are one of the few science-fiction factions that are actually able to put up a fight against the crazy overpowered 40K factions
@Special Bronze
Do you know how strong Forerunner armor is?
Generation tech: Puts coleman on the list
"It's outrageous, its unfair."
Wow, the Clone Wars really ruined Shaak Ti. She used to be a pretty impressive character.
She’s not un respectable in TCW and in the arc he’s talking about it’s true she didn’t even bother to investigate for herself or at least help fives and be open minded, but I appreciated her not letting Nala Se put her down. Even if she didn’t realize Nala Se was hiding something, she was intelligent enough to realize that other alternatives were possible and negotiated her way out of mindlessly submitting to the Kaminoans.
Hey Alan, I have a question and a theory:
Question: how comes in the StarWars universe they haven't mastered regrowing of body parts, or even transplants, yet they have mastered cloning.
@@danielflanard8274 Very true, I just hope that in our world we master regenerating limbs, before hyper drives and star-fighters
Colman Trebor is a legend
“Far from special” the Jedi Order was the most “special” organization to exist in the Galaxy’s memory.
Glad I stumbled upon this channel, I feel like I'm being lectured by a competent Jedi Master. Theirs a serenity and chill vibes to the presentation. Keep up the high content bro.
Please tell me I'm not the only person who is extremely confused about the repeated use of the word potato for seemingly no reason
"Hero potato"? Don't let GLaDOS hear you.:D
School: you should be doing homework
Me at 04:57:
Homework is important because it teaches you self discipline and how to do stuff you don't want to do which can be really important at the earlier levels once you pass the tutorial area
I haven't even watched yet but I already know Coleman Trebor (Dinosaur Man) is on here.
I should be on the top 5 best Jedi list
also worth mentioning Shaak Ti voted to expell Ahsoka a fellow Torguta herself and very closed minded to the point to where she believed that it was not her business to question the Kaminoans about the chips
For people who dont know all of shak ti death
1. Grevious (edited out the movie)
2.Anakin
3.starkiller (forced unleashed video game)
Duchess Satine wasn't Obi-Wan's only true love; you're forgetting about Siri Tachi, bruh!
“Dino potato”
I’ve never heard the word “potato” so many times in a Star Wars video
luminaria forgot a vital rule of combat, and perhaps life, that rule being no plan survives contact with the enemy.
Coleman Trebor is actually a Parasaurolophus, a herbivorous hadrosaur native to North America and Asia
Shaak ti? If anything shes underrated
Clone wars!
Yay
When Kenobi was also incompetent. He was similar to Luminara in that he allowed the Jedi order to command his life too much that when he noticed Anakin falling to the dark side, Kenobi didn’t voice his concerns or issues, as shown in the last season. Sure, kenobi was a great warrior, negotiator, and general, but he didn’t follow his master enough to be able to prevent Anakin’s fall and Ashoka’s exile.
So glad he put luminara on this list. The moment he said that I was like : "Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Ooooh yeah."
If anything Coleman was the most peaceful and best jedi ever at being a peace keeper.
