My 64 year old brother transformed his health this past year by going vegan and eating only fresh organic food for a year or so. His back pain has virtually disappeared. He no longer requires or takes pain medication or blood pressure medication. He’s lost 20 pounds although he has never been overweight. His energy is that of his 20 year old self. I’m amazed by my brothers story.
He’s a huge advocate now for vegan lifestyle

Veganism initially works because it mimics fasting and people usually remove all the processed crap they used to eat. At some point however you will run into deficiency.

For example, take a sweet potato and boil it until tender, put it in the blender with some of the water and blend to your desire consistency. There’s endless possibilities, you can roast, grill, bake even make soups or whatever you want n blend it up.

I’m about 90% vegan. I cook most of my own meals at home & stick to mostly planted based recipes. If I go out to eat for a special occasion or it’s a family gathering I’m ok with eating meat, poultry & fish. I’m not a big fan of cheese but I do love yogurt. I make my own batch of grass fed organic yogurt in the instant pot almost every week. I also make my own ice cream or if I’m being lazy go with Hagen. It’s what works for me because when I tried 100% veganism I was always thinking about the things I couldn’t eat. Lol

I was plant based, almost vegan for quite a while. When I cut out the last animal food (oysters) the joint pain from inflammation disappeared. I'm in my 60's. You might not notice the difference, but you won't know until you try. Kudos for being almost 100%. Too many people think that if you don't go all the way, why reduce at all? Because your health, and the health of the planet will be better.

Re; vinegar in pickles being "bad" Bobby, you need to review basic stomach physiology. The pH of pickle juice runs around 3, the pH of the stomach goes down to 1 (that is 100 time more acidic than pickle juice). Your pancreas then excretes bicarbonate that neutralized stomach acid as it enters the duodenum. A little bit of pickle juice or vinegar (or salad dressing, or the highly touted apple cider vinegar) is not going to do anything to your gut bacteria much lower down in the intestine.

Whole Food carries the best hummus I have ever tried. Hummus Guy brand Avocado and cilantro hummus! It does have some sunflower and or soybean oil, but the total fat is only 3g per 28 gram serving, so it can't have that much. Trader Joe's carries an eggplant hummus which has no added oil. Thanks for doing this! I’m plant-based, no oil, and am thrilled with the increasing amount of options coming out!! 🌱🌱🌱. My doc said to avoid coconut oil, as it is high in saturated fat, so I tend to avoid that, which stinks cuz it’s in a lot of things plant-based.

Do you get 10% off of all items at Whole Foods for being a prime member or just the sale items? I avoid Whole Foods since I think they are way overpriced but might try them again if they are offering 10% on everything.

Yes Bobby you can buy palm oil in the grocery store. I've bought some. Bought it for a recipe. You can find it in the Asian markets in the African section. It's a deep red color. Has a weird funky taste to it. NOT good at all 😔😔😔
