    My family was a die hard Walmart family. Then we became educated on and we started started at sprouts, more and more until that became our main store. It’s nice to see you representing the foods And brands We eat. Then I wrote a research paper about gmo’s for English and now only buy organic .

    Yes! We have sprouts here in Oklahoma, and ours (Tulsa) is next door to Aldi and across the street from a Costco, so getting the best deals on the best quality foods is definitely accessible. No excuses for me anymore! 😂 100% grassfed ground beef is only $3.99 at my sprouts, the best price I’ve seen anywhere.

    Sprouts has 100% grass fed ground beef on sale every other week, in my experience. Jealous they have it for $2.99 in California, though. It's $3.99 here in Colorado, which is still a hellova price! They also have great sales on wild-caught salmon, pasture-raised eggs and avocados. I do most of my shopping there now.
    Also, on Wednesdays, they have the sale prices from the previous and next week's circulars at the same time, so I usually swing by on Wednesday to do my shopping. Warning that the ground beef on sale is often gone by Wednesday night, though. They don't grind enough on Wednesdays at my store.

    So helpful! Here are the FlavCity changes I've made so far (in 3 weeks of watching): I buy peanut butter with two ingredients - peanuts and sea salt; I buy nothing with natural flavorings; I use only stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol as sweeteners; with all foods, I buy the Plain instead of the flavored, when possible; I buy organic, non-GMO certified; I buy pasture-raised eggs; I'm searching for a good collagen supplement... Etc. I'm curious about what changes others are making...?

Love leaning about healthy options and what to avoid! 👍🏻❤️

    I also asked the butcher why the grass fed beef is $4.99 for the 1lb vs. 2lb. It’s 100% and goes on sale often... only in the 2lb packaging as it’s more economical for packaging. I simply split it in two before freezing. It’s a super great deal!

My usual purchase is salmon, shrimps, butter, cabbage, blueberries, onions, broccoli, brussels sprouts, garlic and cucumber As you can see from my list I'm trying to east healthy and cut down on carbs and processed foods. It worked for me. Transition to vegetables and salmon and elimination of sugars and processed foods allowed me to drop my A1C from 6.2 to 5.2. So I'm recovered diabetic.

    Wouldn't 'cha know it! I just got back from a shopping trip at Sprouts when I came across this video. I hadn't shopped there in probably a half a year. I bought some organic kabocha squash, some spices in bulk, some nuts in bulk, a few sweet potatoes, etc. Two pleasant surprises: I found California-grown organic yellow peaches for I think $2.99/lb (I thought the peach season was over, but I ate one when I got home, and it was goood!), and for the first time ever, I found non-death-squad organic bananas at Sprouts Market! So I bought a lot of them! Unlike Whole Foods, Sprouts does not force you to become a member of a scam like Amazon Prime in order to buy anything at their sale prices.

    • @mothershelper1981

      What are non death-squad organic bananas? I've been buying organic bananas recently and there's usually only one kind of choose from in the store.

    • @Qrayon
      @Qrayon 4 роки тому +1

      @@mothershelper1981 I call the following brands of bananas "death squad bananas":
      Chiquita, Del Monte, Dole, and I think there's another one I'm forgetting,
      because in the past (up to the 1980s, and maybe later) the companies that own those brands funded death squads in Central America, which were men in flat bed trucks riding around shooting people in the streets for political reasons, in order to keep the right wing, fascist governments in power in those countries.
      NON-death squad bananas are the brands of bananas not involved with aiding death squads as far as I know. The bananas at Fresh Choice were from Ecuador, and there are other brands out there, but I don't see them on the shelves as often as I'd like.

    • @mothershelper1981
      @mothershelper1981 4 роки тому

      @@Qrayon Holy cow, I had no idea. If you think of any other brands or locales that are better to support than others please feel free to mention them here. I've always just bought whatever bananas were available in the store, not knowing all this. It seems like stores generally just carry one brand of bananas so you must have to go to a specific store to find more ethical brands?

    • @Qrayon
      @Qrayon 4 роки тому +1

      @@mothershelper1981 Yes. The bananas including the organic bananas at most of the stores I've been shopping at are exclusively the death squad brands. I can't think of any of the other brands off the top of my head, but it's pretty simple. Just look for bananas that are not the major brands (Dole, Del Monte, Chiquita, and I think there was a 4th brand.) I've found the bananas I want at Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco, Farmer Joe's (not Trader Joe's) in Oakland, even Food Maxx had 'em a few years ago. Alameda Natural Foods in Alameda Calif. has a good selection of bananas, and don't forget Sprouts Market. You could talk to the produce manager and see if he or she could order some non-death squad bananas.

    So glad you got to visit Sprouts. They have the grass fed beef on sale pretty much every other week but you do have to buy the value size. The key is to shop the sales and stock up. This is the only place I buy my eggs as they have a wonderful selection of pasture raised. We do have the Lava yogurt but I purchased one and tried it and thought it tasted horrible. Don’t know if I had a bad one or that’s really how it tastes. And yes, everything in the grocery stores in California is usually more expensive out here simply because real estate costs more along with other things such as transportation, wages, ETC. Even at Walmart you will typically see the Great Value brand is more expensive than any place else in the US. It’s the price you pay to live in a place where the weather is beautiful most of the time. Was this your first time at Sprouts?

      Mrs. Little I often do the same. I get weird reactions from the cashiers sometimes when buying 20 lbs of ground beef but I save a ton of money filling up my deep freezer. It’s absolutely the best price on 100% grass fed finished ground beef anywhere - although I notice it shrinks down when cooked a lot more than some pricier 85/15 grass fed beef I get from my local rancher.

    • @mrs.little8714

      @@HazerGore1185 The packaging does not say grass finished which makes me a little concerned. I asked the sprouts meat butcher and he assured me it's 100% grass fed AND finished. Bobby received the same answer. No one comes close to their sale price and that is why my mistrust meter sounds off. I keep meaning to call their headquarters to verify at a top management level but keep forgetting. My second option is butcher box. I get my grass fed steaks and uncured sugar free bacon with them. I have yet to explore my local butcher shop.

Since you are visiting my home county my I suggest you visit Lassen's Natural Foods and Vitamins. They are a family-owned business. They have more than one store and one is located in Thousand Oaks. And they try to support our local Farmers as much as possible here in State. They are located in multiple counties you can do a Google search for all their locations the size of their stores varies by location.

    What about Daisy cottage cheese? It’s the cleanest I’ve found vs the others in most stores. Only 3 ingredients I believe. Cultured skim milk, cream, salt. While it’s not organic it doesn’t have filler at all. Seems good and the price is right at $2.19.

    Shoppers need to do their homework. Sprout's is a good and honest chain. In contrast Whole Foods has a history of misrepresenting items ass "organic" when they are not. They're saying, "If you catch us what are you going to do about it?" They tried this in Santa Cruz, Ca with a 'fake" tri-fold" brochure stating how they worked with local organic farmers. The Santa Cruz to Salinas valley area has a concentration of organic growers including 11 different peach varieties. Trust Sprout's...be skeptical of Whole Foods.

    Can you please do a review on Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joes, and Costco now selling produce with the Bill Gates funded APEEL? I called my local Whole Foods and the produce manager said that the produce will NOT have the APEEL label, but some sort of sign. He then went on saying that most of the produce have a wax type coating anyway. I told him that APEEL cannot be removed with any soap, baking soda, vinegar, veggie wash, etc. He did not reply. I was quite shocked that there would be no label. APEEL website claims it is safe, but the ingredients supposedly is what is also put in processed foods to preserve them. Some sites have said that other ingredients can be toxic.

    We have Sprouts in Texas and they regularly have that 100% grass fed beef on sale. The price difference is in the family pack and the regular pack. Family pack is always cheaper. So I buy this, split it up and freeze it. $2.99 is the cheapest it ever is! But $3.99 is usually what I see it at here. Still a fantastic price! Great video.

    I go to Sprouts weekly. I have to include the cost of gasoline in the price of food. Now, I find that yoghurt per ounce is more expensive there than the 10 for $10 Fage 0% sugar plain which has only milk, culture including bulgaricus. If money counts, that is a best buy.
    I am absolutely a good price person because I am a diabetic senior living on $16,000 a year. Half my income is rent. So, I love organic, grass fed and pure everything but I must eat low carb, no sugar, only good fats and no sodium. So, you see I must put those parameters before the GMO, grass fed, organic thing if I want to get enough of the right food for me.
    I go for any veggie or fruit for 99 cents a pound or less. I only eat chicken, skinned, ofcourse. Fish is a treat and when I get it I do look for wild caught fatty fish from clean waters, if possible. But I compromise on organic chicken but do get no antibiotic chicken, which most of it is. I home cook everything. That way I know what ingredients I have and can count carbs, fats and calories. All my numbers have gone to normal and I don't take any meds for diabetes. I lost 50 pounds. Much healthier but food is very uninteresting. I'm someone who catered for others and still make pies and stuffed sweet and sour cabbage for friends or other home cooked goodies. I taste and spit out to get seasoning right. But I eat terribly bland but healthy balanced meals that are 50% veggies, 25% protein and 25% starch. I use lots of herbs and spices but that does not make up for salt, fats and sugar in food.
    Sprouts has great produce prices and mostly, I go there for the produce. For $20 a week I get about 50% of my food in fresh fruit and produce. Honeycrisp apples, smaller size which is better for me, are sometimes cheaper there. And for more money I can get some different pears than the usual grocery store types. In season, eggplant is cheaper and I know lots of good things to do with that from rattatouie to eggplant salad with vinaigrette dressing. But you do have to compare prices against sales in other groceries of you want to eat cheaply and well. Lettuces in my store are sometimes overly wet and damaged from handling, so pick through lettuce and greens. Above all, don't buy all your produce there, just the best buys. They are usually varied and substantially cheaper than the chain groceries. I have a weekly rout that takes me to three stores without going out of my way and I shop bargains at each one saving substantially in gasoline, time and price per pound on everything I get. It takes time but as a retired 78 year old, I have lots of that. Not much money.

    I’m a long time Sprout’s shopper. I never understood how their 100% grass fed ground beef is so cheap. I’ve consumed a lot of it, and it’s good, but the grass fed beef from my local rancher is still much tastier. I will say when the Sprouts grass fed beef cooks down, there is a ton of water and the mass of meat shrinks tremendously. Other 85% grass fed ground I get doesn’t do this.
    The prices there in LA are much higher than here in Texas. I get the Kerrygold butter on sale all the time for $2.99 and the organic Sprouts almond milk under $3
