Car Tears Down Freeway on 3 Wheels With Open Tailgate

- A driver was shocked at what he saw on the 405 Freeway in Southern California. A car was traveling on three wheels with its tailgate open as it barrelled down the road in Orange County. Chad Towersey recorded the dangerous situation on video. Towersey says he followed the car off the freeway. He witnessed the bizarre journey come to an end after the car apparently rear-ended another vehicle. He confronted the driver, who gave an explanation for her erratic behavior.
Sounds like she was in shock...I hope she gets the help she needs, medically and psychologically

@@hawaiianwater1913 I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in the Army(had 50% chance to live past 5 years). I was mentally gone when I heard the word cancer. I don't even know how I managed to get home(barracks) from my walk at the briefing(for deployment to Iraq). I got the call half-way between the location. You can't understand that feeling of your mortality unless you're in that situation.
You're right. I was mentally gone when my doctor told me I had Stage 3 cancer while I was in the Army. Your brain just.....idk....youre just not "there". I didn't "come to myself" untill the next day.....and bawled like a baby when I read my chances to live past 5 years.
Her situation is even more bleak.
@@coreymartin6486 I made that comment before I realized that the cancer could've shocked her so im sorry for you and that woman
My late father-in-law also drove erratically after finding out he had stage 4 lung cancer and had 6 months to a year to live. He left the doctor's office and instead of driving across the railroad tracks he drove DOWN them and got his car stuck. He was found dazed and confused but unharmed. He died just short of a year later. I'm guessing he and this woman both got so lost in the fear that they had no awareness of anything around them. Maybe doctors should take this into consideration and not tell patients devastating news unless the patient has someone there with them.
Sounds like a good idea. sorry for your loss.
I totally agree. Doctors should not allow people to drive same day if they were to give a terminal diagnosis... it is cruel to the patient and to anyone who can be harmed accidentally because of it. It's like a policy changes that happened after the new baby gets out of the hospital with a car seat but not just that any more... a person from the hospital must show how to attach the seat to the car... It happened to me so I understand why it is crucial
You can’t control what people do once they leave the hospital. And unfortunately not everyone has someone who can take them home.
Some people just have a lot to deal with.
And sometimes they just don't know what to do.

i was waiting for test results where two 8 of the possible outcomes were pancreatic or liver cancer. I lived in a university dorm at the time and had no friends so no one close by knew i was spiralling. I don’t even remember that semester. I empathize with this lady a lot :( luckily i didn’t have cancer and my health issues resolved on their own. the human body is so fickle

My step-dad only survived that cancer because they found it really early. In case people don't actually know its pretty much always fatal so if what she said is true, I could see a person being stuck in their head and having a mental break..that's why people drive you when you get news like this usually.
My stepdad also survived pancreatic cancer. If I'm not mistaken he has a 9 centimeter tumor all wrapped around his pancreas. I'll have to ask my mom. But he says he survived because "I was a child of the 60s and 70s, if all those drugs didn't kill me, what will?" Which sounds ridiculous 😅 but that's just the type of guy he is. It sure took a toll on him. And my mother. My mother was more of a mess after his diagnosis than he was. I can't count the number of times I drove hours back and forth to and from the Cleveland clinic for him and my mom.
It's crazy because one of my friend's father was a well respected doctor at the Cleveland clinic, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was gone within a month of his diagnosis. Another friend, her uncle was diagnosed, gone within a week.
My stepdad was diagnosed almost ten years ago now and beat it. It took a major toll on him that still can be seen to this day. It's just crazy how deadly it is, and how you just never know who is going to pull through or not.
@@raeraebadfingers with my step-dad we got so lucky, he had something going on with his liver that day and he turned kinda yellow, I insisted that he went to the er for it, because he is a stubborn man and would wait to see if he got better. They found the cancer while looking for what was going on with him, which actually cleared in like a day...had it not been for that, by the time it would have been found it would have been too late..he still had an intense procedure to get it removed but he survived..
I agree, I can see why she responded in that manner.
My dad also “survived” that cancer, according to the doctors who performed his surgery then ended up being wrong when he quickly deteriorated a year later.
Doesn't give them the right to put everyone else in danger. Such selfish behavior.
Poor lady having a rough time. Sadly you cant be driving around like that running into others. Some drs shouldnt let patients leave without a family member or someone for support.

I actually had a tire fly off my car while driving, it literally rolled across the opposite lane and my fender crashed down on the road. But it happened mid drive and I’ll be honest, it’s a lot easier to drive with 3 wheels than you think. Obvi I noticed right away but I can see how someone who’s mind is elsewhere could just think it’s rough road or something. There really wasn’t much difference with the drive. My aunt was in the passenger seat and she had no idea it even happened..it was a weird occurrence but before you judge this lady it isn’t as crazy inside the car as what’s going on outside. It's very unfortunate about her diagnosis, that's still no excuse to be driving around with a missing tire, an open tailgate and hitting another driver. It looks like she was in a previous accident and fled the scene
I don't believe her story about the diagnosis at all. It's a sympathy bid. She was no doubt involved in a prior hit & run.

It's sad that she was diagnosed with cancer, but she obviously shouldn't have been driving. If she lost control of her car on the freeway, people could have been killed!
She probably got the news, was driving home but wasn't paying attention because all her mind was on was that she would die in 3 to 5 years, got in an accident but didn't care for life anymore since it was gonna end, so she just kept driving.

By definition: A tailgate is the hinged part that extends across the rear of a pickup truck or other vehicle and can be folded down or to a horizontal position for loading and unloading. So I guess it doesn't have to be a truck. I'd still call that a trunk.
