- Hey guys, This was a quick video talking about the firmware update that is coming for some Panasonic Lumix cameras as the Lumix s5ii, Lumix s5iix, Lumix s9 and Lumix g9ii.

Where the real time Lut really shines in my opinion is, imagine you creat your own Luts in Davinci and import them into your Lumix camera when you livestream for instance :)

me too, i'm excited to see what i can do with the app integration
I like using the app for easy phone editing and fast media sharing.
i hope to be able to do that now, it's a shame that we don't have camera control for the s5ii and s5iix with the app yet
Autofocus on 1080 60p would be so good. I know it's a 4K camera, but at 4K high frame rates, you get that annoying crop, and with the lens I have, it's unbearable. Some projects only require 1080, so that would be very helpful.
Unfortunately it can't be updated in the firmware as the sensor physically has too few PDAF pixels on the S5II and S5IIX to do PDAF in line skipped modes.
I know, I'm now in peace with that as I use this flaw on my favor changing quickly from full frame to crop mode when need a bit more zoom, but i also can't wait to have full frame with higher frame rates> And you can still film 4k with autofocus and down scale it in post for your clients, maybe thats a good solution for you

I’m always grateful for any new firmware updates but honestly there’s not much in this one that will be overly useful to me.
The app will be better if they add the functionality to control aspects of the camera even if it’s just as a remote shutter trigger but as it stands it seems to be just a way to transfer photo / video and LUTs between the camera and your phone, again not something I will find that useful. if you do use the app then the 5G upgrade will be good.
Leica monochrome, nice to have but I doubt I’ll use it, and I don’t really use real time LUTs, so I probably won’t assign a button to this function either.
As for the XLR2 update. Nice to have the option to use this unit. I like the functionality of the XLR2 over the original, the cold shoe would be handy to mount my DJI Mic and the addition of the shotgun mic holder is also great as is the ability to plug in a 3.5 mic and control the levels on the unit as you would with and XLR mic BUT the real power of this unit is the ability to record 32 bit float audio directly into your camera… as long as your camera is a GH7. Sadly, this function is not available with this update and as far as I know it’s a hardware issue so unless you have a GH7 you’re out of luck. I assume this function will be on any new cameras like an S1HII (if that is ever released) or future versions of an S5 like an S5III(x) but given the lack of 32 bit float for older cameras I'll just be sticking with my XLR1.
Again, I’m not complaining and I'm always happy to get updates whatever they are as it means that Panasonic haven’t abandoned these ‘older’ cameras yet (unless you’re a GH6 owner) but I doubt there’ll be many updates coming that I will personally find overly useful from here on for the S5II.
Thanks for the very detailed comment bro 👏 I agree with you on most points, the updates related to photo don’t interest me at all but that will be good for people that had more photography work and real time let is good for quick turn outs but it will never give the best quality or the ability to be creative or fix problems afterwards, and I was said to see the we don’t get camera control for the s5ii and s5iix, but it the rumours about the s1hii are true I’m sure they are saving the best for that.

It just needs to fade by 30-50 second mark. Essentially, just cut it by end of intro. But it was nice in the beginning. Also, if you do keep it in future videos, lower to about -18 to -23db (after intro), then bring it back for the outro.
