I cannot really comprehend the argument that the use case of multiple frame markers is more relevant on S9 than S5 IIX just because the camera is newer. S5 IIX is far more catered towards videography / cinematography in more professional sense than S9.

As someone who doesn't want to switch teams, I have to say I'm getting pretty sick of waiting for Lumix to release a full frame camera that can shoot 4k 60p without a crop. This is a really small thing, so much so that the other brands don't even advertise it anymore because it's just a given that their cameras offer this function. Whereas Lumix still does not have a full frame camera that can shoot 4k60p using the full sensor. I really never thought I'd have to but I'm currently looking at other cameras because I'm tired of Lumix lagging years behind their competitors.
Totally, agree. Love all that Lumix does. Somewhere it feels as though Lumix is caught up in its own philosophy. If you want to sell products, you can't be so philosophical about things. Include things that majority look for, but with a touch of your philosophy. Otherwise, you may have only a few loyal fans. I wish Lumix change their approach and do really well. At th end of the day, people look at brand popularity, ecosystem of lenses and accessories, and the latest the best tech (whether you like it or not).
It’s a very small caveat compared to other manufacturers. Every other camera manufacturer has cameras that overheat, have no shutter angle, lack anamorphic desqueeze, barely usable IBIS, recording limits, and janky touch screen operation. With all that, a crop in 4K 60 isn’t the worst thing ever.

We understand you're focused on MP4 Lite at 30fps and only in the S9, but we honestly think it would be great to include 24fps and 60fps as well. Some brands really appreciate that cinematic aesthetic, and offering those options in the S5IIX and future Bigger models would appeal to agencies that would love the added versatility in their demanding workflows.
@lumixusa Why I feel like the G9ii is a step child. It is supposed to be a flagship yet S9 gets more up dates than a Flagship? Really?
Hey, thank you for taking the time to answer all this questions and give us all this valuable info 🙏 but the big big question is: any hints on what we can expect for a bit more capable and professional camera that could be coming up? I don’t have the numbers that lumix has but in my opinion lumix is finally get the attention it deserves and more and more people is getting to try and trust the brand after the release of the s5ii and the s5iix but we still lack that one level above camera that some user as myself would love to have to bring with for some more professional shoots, could you either a just yes or no let us know if something like is coming soon? At 49:43, the lighting makes the camera appear to have a bluish-silver design with black accents, which looks really cool. You might want to consider creating an actual design like that. It would probably sell off the shelf!
Hey Sean @LUMIX USA - I would just like to add my voice to request Train detect in the S5II. I have the S9 also, but for train photography I use the 24-105mm and 70-300mm lenses and they are a bit big to mount on the little S9.

Autofocus still needs a lot of work on the S5ii /X in photos. Is there a chance of an update for that?
Hi, I have a few requests please:
add hybrid zoom to s5II please. It's super useful and you almost have it with the live crop function, its just less flexible.
Not being able to connect to dji gimbal via Bluetooth is an issue especially that you have a partnership now. As it is I can only control the camera via app or gimbal, not both.
The old remote control app had a very small live view screen. On the 7-inch phone was barely bigger than the built-in screen. I didn't used the new one but I hope there is a real full screen option. Visual assists like false colors would be very nice too, and option for a wired connection. I am jealous of the Monitor+ app for sony.
I really like the cameras and I am very happy that you finally fixed the autofocus and punch in to check focus while filming but it's hard to justify it over sony (I use it professionally and clients often request me to use sony) 4k 60fps only in cropped mode is an issue.

I have a S5II. Thank you again for this update - but It´s crazy that the connection switches between blutooth and Wifi. Why you can´t just use Blutooth to transfern some data like Luts?
I didn't think my comment would get read! Here is my issue (with some follow up in a reply comment underneath this initial issue ): after updating my S5IIX to firmware 2.1, I found that if I tried taking photos with Real Time Lut applied, my camera would act like it was taking a photo with incredibly long shutter speed, even if I had a fast shutter speed. On top of that, a little red recording dot would appear in the lower lefthand corner of the screen. I would have to shut down the camera by taking the battery out as the on/off switch did nothing to shut down the camera. After rebooting the camera, I would find that my entire LUT library from Lumix lab was gone. Then, I couldn't connect my camera to the app via Bluetooth. I would have to repair the devices. This did not happen with "Real Time LUT" applied in video modes. My camera has worked perfectly fine until this firmware update. Follow up will be in the Reply comment.
Follow Up: I have not risked trying to take photos with "Real Time LUT" profile turned on. Instead, I have just loaded the LUMIX Lab LUTS into "My Photo Style" I have had no issues taking photos in "My Photo Style(s)" Again, as I mentioned before"- the camera works fine using RTL in video. I'm quite new to using this feature as I'm primarily a V-LOG user for video. I will reach out to Lumix support about this issue- but don't really think it's a hardware fix kind of thing. I just thought it would be important to share with Lumix as well as see if anyone else out there has experienced this problem.
S5ii/x:
- internal BRAW (licensing issue?)
- Open Gate aspect ratio 60fps (with crop, i'm used to that now)
- improved tab focus tracking
Will there be another AF firmware update for the S5ii/x or is that out of the future plans now?
Is the next camera getting the better processor/readout speed?
Please bring Auto Capture like the Nikon Z9 does for the S5II, This would be a Killer Feature! I know Panasonic can do it after all the great updates so far.
Lumix's approach to feature parity among its similarly specced cameras is often frustrating. Just hand the S5 II and S5 IIX whatever you have already developed for the S9. It should be a given, and it should be given as soon as its ready.
This isn't out of entitlement, since we already know Lumix has a pretty decent record for adding features via FW. This is about keeping that reputation going and doing what you do being the underdog player in the mirrorless market.
Will older cameras like the Lumix S1H/S1/S5 will also get support for the Lumix XLR-2 Adapter?
Going to 2025, LUMIX don’t have a full frame camera offering a full frame 60FPS. Is it really we want?

@LUMIX USA clearly the plane/train AF detect is a much requested feature on all recent cameras, I hope we don't have too wait much longer.
What about S5 update?

The October 8th release of the S5D felt like a ridiculous attempt to showcase something without anything to show, and it was a huge disappointment to many people who had been waiting for the new S1 series. The 18-40mm lens, which was already shown at the Lumix event in August, was also released, which lacked freshness. Personally, I am very disappointed with this release. Lumix, your flagship product updates are too slow. If the S1h ii still uses the pathetic IMX410, many of us, including me, will have no choice but to switch to other brands.
