@LoveliesMSP hi mine is really good. I'm using it to play sims 4 and it handles the game including cc and mods well. It also plays the sims 2 really well as well. I have to keep it plugged in when playing sims 4 but if I'm just browsing online the battery lasts ages so I would say that's a game issue rather than a laptop issue. It gets pretty warm and fan is fairly loud when gaming, but no more than any other laptop. I would buy again.

I managed to get this on sale (using it to watch this video lol) for $700. Since I was able to save $300 I bought a 2tb nvme ssd, nvme external enclosure, and 32gb (2x16) ddr5 ram. I used the enclosure to clone the 512gb drive to the 2tb drive and swap them out (now use the 512gb as an external drive). I actually picked it up before heading to my class, and ended up doing these upgrades in the university library. So with my previous 5tb external hard drive (seagate one touch), the 512gb external nvme drive, and the internal 2tb nvme, I got storage for days. (games are stored on all three, just depends how demanding the game is for where I install it). But between some coding, school work, and gaming, I am extremely happy with they laptop so far... especially since I got it on sale. (edit: I absolutely loved this video, got yourself a new subscriber)
@johnnymardelly1179 Best Buy was having a three day sale thing, but they have random sales occasionally, so it probably wouldn't be too hard to replicate (also sorry I didn't see you're reply till now)
@forthemillionsyetuntold5988 I sure do, and it works great! Like I said 9 months ago, I did upgrade the RAM and Storage, but those are relatively easy upgrades, and you can find videos online how to do that. However, it only has one m.2 port, so if you plan on upgrading the storage yourself, you'll need an external m.2 case so you can copy the original drive to the new drive but that wasn't too complicated either (and again there are many videos explaining how to do this)
I like how translucent plastics are making a comeback, gives it an interesting look without them resorting to funky angles and trying to style it like a stealth jet.
Heres my honest review: I have been using this laptop for over a year at this point, and overall, I can definitely say that it was worth it. I purchased it for around $850; specs were 512gb storage, Intel 12th gen i5 8 core CPU, 8gb RAM, and a Nvidia 4050. I ended up purchasing a 2tb SSD and upgrading the memory to 32gb for around an extra $150, totaling my current build to $1000. It doesn't take any experience to install the SSD nor RAM, however you will need to reinstall or port over windows onto the new SSD. The battery is pretty much useless, but it is portable enough that I can carry both the laptop and charger in a schoolbag. The core tends to max out in most high-end games, and the fan will need to be at max speeds (which can be a little loud) when running RTX. Screen is dimmer than most, but still has high resolution and great colors. I use a headset, but the microphone on the laptop is pretty good unless you have a dedicated microphone setup. Overall, it is a great deal in terms of cost.

Is it top tier? No. Not at all, but its not top tier price. I don't like the word cheap, I prefer to use value for money, because that is what this laptop is. Edit - since you hearted this comment, I read back through it and I think it sounds like I’m putting you in that “Laptop elitist” role. I’m definitely not! No one takes into account and does not disclose the temperatures of MSI laptops. Yes, the temperature of laptops is higher than that of PCs - but in MSI laptops they are really big: CPU 90 degrees, GPU 75-80. This is with a reduced heat output to 75W GPU. So if you want to get an MSI laptop for a short time, it will last you a maximum of a year or less P.S. Having only one fan in a ‘Gaming Laptop’ is absolutely ridiculous. Who even buys these laptops from MSI?
Is the Is one at Best Buy “MSI - Cyborg 15.6" 144hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core i7 - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD - Black” got the right configuration?
Will this laptop video edit in premier pro or capcut pc and do you know if the export is decent on video edits. I would upgrade to 32 gb ram. im on a budget but if i can get something much better for video editing around 1200 i might do it but 800 bucks is hard to not look at! Thanks
I bought it, I want to see a hinge breakdown from this laptop. Im curious what materials the standoffs are having and what they attacted to. There is allot of msi laptops that have hinge issues m curious if the changed anything with this Cyborg.
Hello! This was something that I wanted to check in this full review too, unfortunately I wasn't given permission by MSI to open up the laptop to check. Normally on retail units I didn't need to ask permission, but this was an engineering unit, so there were some things inside that was slightly different from retail. But from my experience, it had a better hinge than the GF66 Katana-- it was smoother and much more stable. I don't know if it's going to stay that way in the long run, but it's a good sign!
@@KevinEvangelista also the screen colors are pretty bad but for 140 you can replace the screen with a 165hz better rgb panel. M considering of replacing it but it wil ruin battery life a bit.
Hi! I am thinking buying one but for vegas pro 19 video editing, some photoshop.. is a i5 enough or should i go for the i7 version? I want it playback smooth…
Oh, I'm definitely recommending the i7 version, and you're going to have to bump up the RAM to 16GB. That'll make for a great mid-level editing machine that will serve you well for a few years. Hope this helps!

FOR EVERYBODY THATS BUYING THIS LAPTOP- ADD MORE RAM!!! I just bought this laptop from bestbuy at 800$ with discount. At first I was very disappointed but after I added a 16GB of ram everything changed. The fps on valorant jumped from 130 to 330 and I dont see anymore lag while doing simple tasks on the laptop. Also this is my first laptop, I have only used PC before this and idk if this is only new for me but the performance is 3x better when the charger is on. Im buying now additional 16GB of ram and I will share with you the preformance with 32GB ram.
When the charger is on the lap will use discrete graphics which helps in using software and games without lag.when charger is off the lap will use integrated graphics

Hello, I am having trouble with regards in gaming. The keyboard's input is super delayed. Every time I press a key, it inputs 1-1.5 seconds after. When I hold or keep pressing a key and I stop, it doesn't stop. This only happens when I open a game. When I alt tab or go to a normal app or program, it works perfectly fine, but when I go back to the game, the keyboard input is super late. I also saw some people having the same issue with this laptop. How can I fix this problem?
yo sir im choosing between this and the acer predator helios neo 16 with the i5-13500HX which do you think is better? the neo 16 last time i checked near me was priced at 59k and the msi was 56k
Of course! That's what I actually do with most of my laptop reviews since I use them to edit their own review videos-- I have a secondary setup with a color-calibrated ASUS TUF VG27A as the monitor.
I bought this lappy a week ago, i want a predator unit but i decided to purchase this msi cyborg. It is much cheaper from the other brands with high specs. Now, im inclined to try predator helios 16 because of its fair specs and badass looks. Predator, Cop or drop?
I have just ordered this Laptop , Gonna receive in 2 days . Cant wait to check this out . I already work on my rtx3080 and ryzen 9 desktop pc for hours of rendering . Now gonna start using this laptop I hope it can pull off my rendering (After buying it and using it for 1 month for heavy 3d rendering work) this thing came out monster , its gpu is so powerful within this price range, its literally giving competition to my 2.5k workstation desktop pc. After reading all the reviews of Cyborg 15 on internet I literally yelled at the seller for not suggesting me something better within this range and I was literally regretting for buying it. but when i received this machine, I was blown away with its performance . The frame which my 2.5k workstation pc renders in 7 seconds , this 1k machine renders it in 9 seconds. Its a bomb. Forget the negative reviews on internet and just buy it already

How loud is the fan during idle times? I recently bought another MSI Thin GF63 and even when not doing anything the fan starts to work for like 10 seconds very loudly, then it shuts off completely, only to repeat the process every 30 seconds or so (and yes, I already tried fine tuning the fan). It's incredibly annoying and I'd even prefer it to be constantly working than just starting all of a sudden, so I'm considering changing it for one of these.
today I bought this one in the video and I'm noticing that even when I don't do nothing, the fan runs every 10 sec and sometimes it runs constantly, not very loud tho, idk if it's normal
Glad I watched this, just bought mine with 32GB RAM. Should be here on Wednesday! I used to always have desktop gaming computers (which will always reign supreme over laptops) but I travel too much and always want my gaming on the go. While I enjoy my ASUS Rog Ally a lot, I need a better laptop than what I have now. My current laptop is the MSI GF63 Thin 9sc. Has 8GB of RAM and GeForce GTX 1650. For the time I bought it, this was a great laptop. Still surprisingly running like new! But games are getting more demanding. I don’t play a whole lot of high demanding games. I believe the most demanding game in my library is either Satisfactory and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. So this Cyborg will feel like a massive upgrade for me. Plus doing my 3D modeling in Blender will probably fair a lot better than my current laptop. Thanks for your review! I’m now really looking forward to Wednesday this week!
Hello, I am torn between MSI Cyborg 15 A12V and Asus Tuf Gaming 15 FA507NU. The prices of both are considered the same, but there are shortcomings on both sides. I will generally be playing story-based games that are not online, so I really like MSI's design quality. It is also nice that it has an RTX4060, I was in favor of it, but it bothers me that the graphics card is 45 Watts and has a single fan. On the other hand, Asus 140 watts is fine, but RTX 4050 and AMD, graphics card 6 GB, 8 RAM, and 512 GB SSD (of course, these can be increased in the future). That's why I want a laptop that won't upset me too much, which one should I choose in general?
I have this laptop and I got it on a sale for 1000$. With Intel I7 16 gb ram and rtx 4060 with 8gb For that price I must say this thing is almost perfect the only 2 small flaws it has are one the speaker they're loud enough but don't have much bass but if you're using this mainly for gaming you have always a headset or earphones connect for playing games anyways so not to much big of a deal for me The second one is the small 500 gb SSD after installing windows and pulling all updates you're left with about 400 gb usage which again is ok you might need to delete or re install some big games sometimes it's not enough for a big game library but again of you have good internet and don't mind deleting and re installing some games from time to time it's not that big of a deal again for me
Just bought one and I'm very happy with it. Just ordered a 8gb stick to my it 16gb and most likely I'll clone the drive to a 2tb SSD. The laptop isn't the best on the market and everyone is bashing it but for casual gamers this is a win. Also I got it in sale for 799 this week at best buy. Worth it 😎👍
I am looking for a new laptop and this one is on sale at 1199 with i7, 1tb, 16 gb ram and the 4060, would you reccomend it? my only worry in the battery life cause at this price it looks almost perfect
@@st0rmus I bought this one, it's almost perfect, the only problem is the battery life, but it's better than before. In the end, as it stands it's really good deal imo
So the one I was thinking of getting is 16gb and plays cyber punk in ultra setting at 84 fps. In the uk they are way more expensive due to price of parts. Went from £1399 to £800 which is a steal
I have 1 since 10.10, predominantly used for UA-cam only. It is okay when I only open 1 tab but if I tried to open another UA-cam screen, the loading and all typing becomes heavy. The fan is also intermittently noisy.
LoL. almost bought it. then I decided to look at the reviews and understand where they saved money. there is no slot for a hard drive because 512GB ssd will obviously not be enough. and of course one fan is just ridiculous.
hello Kevin! i just wanna ask you, whats your opinion if i wanna buy this laptop this year for coding and gaming, is it good? or i just wait more like until august/September, buying reason is for College
Yeah, it's going to be good for coding! For gaming though, it depends-- if you play more of AAA games, you might have to tone down some settings and turn on DLSS to get some good framerates. But if you're more into esports titles like Valorant, CSGO / CS2, Fortnite, Rocket League-- you're all good. It's an easy-to-carry laptop that isn't too hot nor too loud. Plus it looks really good. It's a steal if you can score one for around $800!

I don't like the word cheap, I prefer to use value for money, because that is what this laptop is. It will do what is asked of it, not as good as other laptops, but enough for it to not matter. If youre on a budget and this laptop is what you found, congratulations, cos you found a gem.
Edit - since you hearted this comment, I read back through it and I think it sounds like I’m putting you in that “Laptop elitist” role. I’m definitely not!
Your review was the best one I’ve seen, you gave it a fair judgement and did an excellent job 👍
That's what I keep saying-- it's great value for the price! Hard to argue with people who expect flagship performance from entry-level budgets!
Do you recommend it for graphic design and video edit?
Yeah it can deff do that but color accuracy is off.
But there is a 165hz panel with better color accuracy and smooth gaming also available that should fit for a upgrade. It wil cost around 130,-
M considering getting it but it could reduce battery life a bit.

can this run Warzone 2 60 FPS on medium/low settings? also is it possible to bypass the power limit with MSI afterburner or other tweaks?
What is the TDP on the GPU on this one? I feel every reviewer should tell that as well when it comes to the GPU bit.
Thanks, just got this laptop, great review.
did you buy it and did it came with 8 ram or 16
So i've heard a lot of complaints about msi build quality, is this one any better in build quality than say the gf63?
what did you mean by regular use? can it last over 5 hours on a notetaking app while watching youtube?
How does this fare with the MSI pulse 17? Excellent work!
No one takes into account and does not disclose the temperatures of MSI laptops. Yes, the temperature of laptops is higher than that of PCs - but in MSI laptops they are really big: CPU 90 degrees, GPU 75-80. This is with a reduced heat output to 75W GPU. So if you want to get an MSI laptop for a short time, it will last you a maximum of a year or less
P.S. Having only one fan in a ‘Gaming Laptop’ is absolutely ridiculous. Who even buys these laptops from MSI?

@@KevinEvangelista Thanks for the reaction, still hope someone wil show in a vid. further than that gaming on the 4060 version is pretty great.

I have 4060 version that came with 16 but also considering upgrading it to 32 and putting in a 4th ssd.
I thought the Cyborg only had 1 Ram slot?
do you play for long periods of time? if so does the performance change?
it comes with 2 ram slots@@RealestGoober.

Did you fix it yet?
it is possible to change the backlight color on keyboard?

Is there a way to increase watt consumption from 45?
does this laptop supports g-sync monitors? thanks
If I use an external monitor for editing, can the color be more accurate with the monitor calibration?
Of course! That's what I actually do with most of my laptop reviews since I use them to edit their own review videos-- I have a secondary setup with a color-calibrated ASUS TUF VG27A as the monitor.

I have just ordered this Laptop , Gonna receive in 2 days . Cant wait to check this out . I already work on my rtx3080 and ryzen 9 desktop pc for hours of rendering . Now gonna start using this laptop I hope it can pull off my rendering
(After buying it and using it for 1 month for heavy 3d rendering work)
this thing came out monster , its gpu is so powerful within this price range, its literally giving competition to my 2.5k workstation desktop pc.

I’m trying to be a editor right now and will the low quality of sound and the non colour accurate screen effect my editing? Because those two are very important when it comes to editing and I’m on a budget so I’m curious.
Hello. Should I get this one with i5 and 16gb for 600€ or asus tuf Ryzen 7 7735HS with 17" and 90watt for 800€?
It's good that it has bigger screen, but it's also heavier...
Would I be able to use it as a PC for streaming on twitch/kick?
single ram stick used to keep fps low and thermal control & power control to avoid thermal throttling put 2 Dimms in use in dual channel and see the performance boost

Guys, can I customise the keyboard lights?? I've tried, nothing works.
I just bought a pc for 958 dollars and it comes with 64gb of ram on Amazon same model
Really nice review thanks
I would hold out for a 4060 in a better laptop.
I would argue "ports are on the wrong side", thanks for showing the insides; a single m.2 slot is what I wanted to know
Agree! I mentioned the ports being on the wrong side in my unboxing video! Gotta clear up that right side for the mousing hand, my mans
Can I ask a review if its okay with the lumion or autocad I'm planning to buy this laptop and idk if it's good
Hello! I would love to, but unfortunately I've already sent back the unit to MSI. 😥
Nice review and keep the review mode please.
Can I use it to upscale videos? I use topaz to edit videos that are 24' long and quite heavy
I have this laptop and I got it on a sale for 1000$. With Intel I7 16 gb ram and rtx 4060 with 8gb
For that price I must say this thing is almost perfect the only 2 small flaws it has are one the speaker they're loud enough but don't have much bass but if you're using this mainly for gaming you have always a headset or earphones connect for playing games anyways so not to much big of a deal for me
The second one is the small 500 gb SSD after installing windows and pulling all updates you're left with about 400 gb usage which again is ok you might need to delete or re install some big games sometimes it's not enough for a big game library but again of you have good internet and don't mind deleting and re installing some games from time to time it's not that big of a deal again for me
Where did u buy it ?!
I can buy it now with 8gb ram, but for 800$+-. How is rtx 4060 45w?
Just bought one and I'm very happy with it. Just ordered a 8gb stick to my it 16gb and most likely I'll clone the drive to a 2tb SSD. The laptop isn't the best on the market and everyone is bashing it but for casual gamers this is a win. Also I got it in sale for 799 this week at best buy. Worth it 😎👍

Is it upgradable to 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD?
Nice review thumbs up
LoL. almost bought it. then I decided to look at the reviews and understand where they saved money. there is no slot for a hard drive because 512GB ssd will obviously not be enough. and of course one fan is just ridiculous.
is there a big difference between 2.4-3.2 Ghz processor frequency when playing games and streaming?
Excellent review
Glad you liked it!
Hi Kevin, question. Are you able to change the colors of the keyboard?
Subbed!
hello Kevin!
i just wanna ask you, whats your opinion if i wanna buy this laptop this year for coding and gaming, is it good? or i just wait more like until august/September, buying reason is for College
@@KevinEvangelistabut is it possible to change the charger of the laptop for a higher one so that the low power usage of the processor and gpu will change and draw more power for more performance? is it a viable option??
@@carlalonzo5031 Nope, it's not possible. The laptop maxes out at at a 120W power draw, even if you plug in a more powerful brick.
Don't do that, by the way. You risk frying either the mainboard or the battery if you plugged in a more powerful power brick than the one included in the box by MSI. Hope this helps!
