I definitely would love to relive the eighties with the shoulder pads and big hair! How I loved it all! Wishing you the healthiest delivery of your new grandson! What fun it is to be a grandmother! Your Barbie colors were spot on! Made me wish my daughters were still young so I could buy all of the Barbie things. You are a great seamstress, Deborah. I’ve always thought that for as long as I have watched you, but those pioneer outfits were exceptional. How much fun will that be! Hoping that flu bug stays far away from your family. Have a great time, until I see you again. ❤❤
Your colors!!! Oh my goodness! 😍 what I wish would become fashionable again is matchy track suits. I had a red one! Also how about amazing sweater sets??? Yes please! And that project bag!!! I LOVE IT! Anything with little houses us my FAVORITE!!!! And pink too?? Adorable! You've sure been busy! And now an edit! Adding one one! Although I do want to wear track suits and sweater sets what I really want back is talking to friends on the phone. I REALLY MISS THAT!!!! Chit chat! Conversation! But nope! It's definitely not "in fashion" any more is it!?
I wish ponchos would become fashionable again. Like cloaks, ponchos are easy to wear and versatile. When you talked about cloaks I remembered a dress and cloak set I had way back when I was a little girl back in the late 1960s. I loved it!!
What a FABULOUS episode! Oh my do I love the pioneer clothes that you made?! I would love to dress like that all the time in my fantasy world. oh and the little fox is super sweet and your yarns 🥰 love you sweet friend xxx
What beautiful yarns...a delight for the eyes. I wish front porch sitting and visiting would come back into fashion.
Deborah, you are so creative. I love your aesthetic. Blessings to your family as you wait for your grand baby's arrival. I would love for muffs to come back in style. My hands are always cold! Best, Karin Patience.
Thank you . All your makes are beautiful. Your sewing is just great . Hope we see some pictures of Nadia in her costumes .
Such beautiful summer colours. Love love the pioneer clothes. My laura Ingals wilder heart ♥️ from my childhood is rejoicing. Fashionable again hmmmmmm. I too would think clothes…. So ponchos/capes ❤❤. Loved wearing them.
Hello from Mounds, Illinois. Congratulations! Love the color work socks. The colors are beautiful.
I think you need to teach a master class on aprons. I would take that class!
As a child of the 90's I have been wait for years for headbands to come back. They are my favorite! I saw Cher Horowitz's yellow plaid skirt at Kohl's today so fingers crossed headbands come back too. 🤞
Enjoyed the podcast! Your Watercolor Socks are so pretty! I’m going to look them up. I wish peasant tops were still fashionable. I do think they are coming back here and there. I had a peasant blouse I wore in the 80s that I wore to death, usually with a mid-calf A-line denim skirt. Loved that outfit!
I wish simple kindness to others would came back!
Adorable rattle
Hi dear! I always use a curved needle for things like noses, ears, whatever fiddly things I'm stitching onto my stuffies. 🤷🏼♀️
Best of all to Ella & her family! 🤗💗🤗
I wish gloves would become more fashionable. I use to wear them all winter when I was a young woman. They were leather, and I had several pairs all in different colours. I adore your handmade pioneer clothes. Your daughter is so lucky to have such a talented mother.
Okay Nadia is going to be the cutest pioneer! I’m going to Trek as well, I’m part of the food committee, so no walking the trail for me😅, but I do need a good apron for sure, I’m currently working on my Trek clothes , juts refashioning thrift store finds. I will for more modest clothes to be fashionable again, it’s so hard to see young people wearing so little clothes, I will like cute modest summer dresses to be fashionable again. Thanks Deborah for all the inspiration and motivation I get when watching your podcast!
Leg warmers and blue mascara 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Playing cards!! Canasta, rummy, etc - where couples would socialize on Saturday night and the kids would play and mess up your house - good times. We were Rook players.
Yes I remember those whistle lollies in Australia we called them Whistle Pops 😊. Puffy sleeves and peplums and frilly collars, not sure all three at once though 😂
I definitely want leg warmers to become fashionable again - especially after seeing your Barbie collection, just imagine fabulous striped leg warmers in your Barbie or pool party minis!! I’m new to your podcast and LOVE it!!! Thank you for sharing your crafting inspiration xxx
A friend of mine used my Great Shape Barbie sock set and designed herself a pair of slouchy leg warmer socks. So fun!
Oh the anticipation of the coming grandchild; how wonderful! Sorry to hear that the parents are both sick, though. I was excited to see the Redwoods in your video. My oldest son and his family lives in Eureka. Leigh and Erin are both nurses there. I love to visit my grandchildren and explore the outdoors. I have been sewing lately, too. I know that gingham has come back into style. I wish that what we called "smock tops" in the 70s would come back into fashion. We made them in gingham. I remember wearing a smock top with my bell bottoms. Love the idea of the mix n match minis! Happy summer!
I can't believe they live in Eureka. What a small world it truly is.
I wish we could wear 80’s clothes, makeup, and hair would come back. I would love doing that for spirit week in school
I haven't thought of the lipstick candy in ages! I used to ask my mom for that and the gum that looked like neon bandaids. But I would usually end up with bottle caps candy or the zebra gum with tattoos on the wrappers. Candy in the 90s was so fun! Now my kids only want Haribo gummies.
I love all the minis!! Minis for life!! I definitely going to have to get the pool party minis and probably the red white and blue, as well. I wish capsule wardrobes were popular again. Fast fashion is so wasteful. Handmade clothing is so wonderful :)
This is interesting because I have recently been contemplating a capsule wardrobe. Have you ever done that? If you have, I'd love to hear your experience.
Roller rinks and bowling alleys. They've all disappeared from my town.
Oh, I do wish that old fashioned screen doors would come back. I have one on my screen porch and I love the sound of it banging closed.
Oooh, yes. I miss my screen door. It died.
Fashionable….hmmm. I wish it would become fashionable to display manners again. Good old fashioned please and thank you, saying hello, holding doors for others and just being friendly. Wouldn’t that be refreshing. 😊
🎉Fun dip
You are such a party planner Deborah. 🎉 I wish drive-ins would come back. So many fun memories in the old station wagon. ❤
I wish brighter clothes were more in. I am so tired of black and dull colors. Also i agree with you i would love to see men in hats. They used to look so handsome
Fabric stores that carry nice fabrics for sewing clothing. Most stores around me are catering to the crafters more than the home sewers. Lots of quilting options but not nearly as much of the varieties of fabrics I could find when I was younger. Purchasing online just doesn’t appeal to me since want to see the actual colors and know how the material feels and drapes.
Wonderful sewing outfits and the fabrics you used look so pretty! You’ve inspired me to start sewing again. I forgot how much I missed sewing clothes. The fox is looking so cute. I wish the shoes from the 70s came back instyle.
That is so sweet to hear? How has your sewing journey been since?

@@candyshoppeyarns Not that I needed to buy more patterns but there is just something about “just one more”. Which turned into four! I just bought a pretty floral fabric to make a vintage Laura Ashleigh dress.
@@adrianalipski8042 So true! Just one more May be the downfall of me. 🤣
Family styles from the 50’s , 60’s , or 70’s ; families were often seen together on family outings. Children were not boisterous or rude, they were seen often not heard much and spoke when called upon. It was a well mannered and respectful time for youth. Much different lifestyle from todays generation. I recognize many families are like this but more often than not adolescents are not quite as well mannered in my neighborhood.
Oh how I wish it would be fashionable again to be neighborly. To be kind and helpful .
I am thankful to have really great neighbors. Thanks for the reminder that I need to visit them all soon.
I really enjoyed seeing all your beautiful projects and yarns. I wish thoughtful dressing was more the norm instead of leggings, torn, and frumpy everyday wear.
Once upon a time, when I was young - yes, it's been a while - it was fashionable to dress up when you went 'to town'. Now while I know it's good not to feel you have to dress up, I kind of miss that - & think it would be nice to have even one day a year when everyone dressed up. A bit like, what we used to call at school - mufti day! No uniforms for a day - it was so anticipated & enjoyed, being able to wear what we liked & be an individual/ wear our best clothes! ❤
This made me chuckle. I was conversing with my family about iconic clothing and hair styles from different decades and said, "I wonder what people will think of as the main fashion trend for this decade, years from now?" The answer is obvious for people in the US - athlesure wear. So casual you could work out or sleep in it, but it's commonplace to wear at school, work, shopping, out to dinner, etc.
lol, apparently here now, wearing pjs to the supermarket is even a 'thing'! I've not seen it - clearly I don't get out enough! 😂@@candyshoppeyarns
Not sure if back again or not but I wish that combat boots were fashionable again so they are easier to find more options.
I wish pretty clothes would come back in style. It seems like everyday clothes are so frumpy looking these days. I love watching you and Emily. I grew up in Kearns over by Kearns Jr High School. When you said you live across from the fire station, I knew exactly where you meant. You two make me miss my hometown. ❤❤❤
What a small world it is! Depending on when you attended Kearns Jr. High, you may have had classes with my grandpa, Mr. Childs. He taught there for 30 years. He taught mainly art and math, sometimes gym, history, or other classes that were needed. My mother grew up in the same neighborhood I now live. I didn't plan that, God did.
@@candyshoppeyarns Yes, I remember Mr. Childs very well. He was my 8th and 9th grade math teacher. I loved him.He was always so happy and positive. I grew up 9 houses (at the time ) the north of the school on 4015 west. It truly is a small world.
@@debbiewatterson740 Who would have thought that we wouod have found a connection like this through a UA-cam video? It’s so cool! I’m a bit teary eyed more now. My Grandpa was an amazing man and I’m so glad that you knew him.
I think my brothers friend Kirk from school married one of your grandpa’s daughters.
@@debbiewatterson740 yep! He sure did. ❤️
I wish kids playing outside, riding bikes, neighborhood basketball games, tag, catching lighting bugs, etc would come back. I used to know every family in my neighborhood when growing up. Now I rarely see any kids outside playing and I know there are children in my neighborhood. I even live near an elementary school. But I never see or hear children laughing or playing. It makes me sad.
Would like to find a pattern to make Grandma's house dress. Cotton, peter pan collar, button bodice, Like my Grandma always wore. In the 1950's.
I like what the other 2 people wrote... That decent clothing (not showing cleavage) and playing games would be more fashionable. But also getting to know our neighbors like they did in the old days. Why does it seem so hard to do that now days?
Shirtwaist dresses...no.
Pointy bras...no.
Teased bouffant hair...no.
The only thing I can think of is clotheslines. No one on my neighborhood even has one. I might not hang out my undies, but I would line dry my sheets and towels for sure! I'm binge watching you today while I redo some sweater cuffs.
I also love to line dry my clothes, though I no longer have a place to string my line. Hopefully, I can find a new spot. I love how laundry smells after the sun and breeze dry it.
I would like to see modesty become fashionable again. Modesty and politeness ~ a simple thank you, or you're welcome would be refreshing. 🤗💕🌻
The word I think is overused since vlogs have begun is 'fun'. Everything is fun this, fun that, and after a while you'd think, no it's not fun, it's enjoyable, it can be delightful, exciting, refreshing, etc. 🤔
Sending hugs and good thoughts for a quick and easy birth ~ Lacy
It would be fabulous if discipline and being held accountable for your actions were fashionable again. Let's see.... 70's style bell bottoms and clogs. Plastic fruit with drift wood on the coffee table. Fur coats. Drop waist dresses. Affordable fabric! Yes to capes and ponchos.
What a great question! I would like to see more handwritten notes, cards, and letters. I remember the excitement and pleasure of opening the mailbox and seeing an envelope addressed to me in a family member’s or friend’s handwriting. I still keep pretty notecards, stamps, and envelope stickers for writing an occasional “thinking of you” note.
My daughter-in-law’s sister just finished her trek with teenagers from the church. They all had a fabulous time. Utah is such a pretty state. 🏔️
I can remember my mother's handwriting, it was beautiful and she could write with either hand and it was still beautiful. 🥰
@@lacy5890 What a special memory. ☺️
This is sweet. I used to have pen pals, but it has been a challenge over the years to continue writing. There is definitely something very sweet about receiving a letter in the mail, especially on pretty stationary. A sad thing to loose from the past that was commonplace before.
