Some people just aren’t good pattern writers. I’m glad you found a way to get through it and had a great pair of shoes to give to Wendy!
I think the shoes turned out way cuter than you think they did. I think your difficulty with the pattern has shadowed your opinion of the finished project because they are darling. And, I think Wendy will adore them, especially because they were made by a friend. You have inspired to me put them on my list of inspirational makes.
Listening to Luna squeak her toys and watching you take them from her, makes me think of my miniature schnauzer. He chooses to wait until I’m on the phone to play with his noisiest toys. Every. Single. Time. 🤦🏼♀️ It’s like having small children in the house again.
You have such a marvelous way with color. It’s definitely seen in the colorways you selected for your mystery cowl. And I spotted your fun spider table-runner draped over the back of the chair. Too fun. 🕷️
Oh goodness! Nothing “average” at all about those shoes!! They’re treasure! ❤
Oh, Wendy is going to LOVE those shoes
Cat in the Hat was one of my favorite books as a kid. Wendy’s shoes are adorable!
How clever…making shoes isn’t anything I ever thought of doing…well done!
I love the shoes! They look wonderful and I hope Wendy loved them too!
Love the ‘Cat in the hat’ bag, all of my grandkids love Dr. Seuss! Love your podcast as well!
You are a very brave knitter to tackle and complete those shoes.
I’ve never even considered making shoes. That is brilliant. Your shoes are beautiful.
Hi there! I love the shoes. They look great.
I love dr Seuss. I read those books all the time to my kiddos when they were younger
I am in awe of your patience with those lovely shoes, Deborah! I'm not sure I would have put so much time into something that frustrated me so much. I'm sure Wendy loved them! Absolutely amazing! ❤ I can't believe you want to make more, but I guess when you now know you can purchase soles .... the next pair will be an absolute doddle! 😊
Yes! I would wear those shoes you made!! ❤ They are adorable!! I know you went through the wringer to make them, but you did a fabulous job, Deborah!! ❤ You are a marvelous crafter!! I love your socks!
My FIRST EVER MINIs just arrived!!! Everything nice indeed!! gorgeous!!!! Thank you!!
My 1st ever MINIs just arrived! They are gorgeous!!
Hello Deborah, your shoes are amazing. I applaud your patience. Karin
Cannot wait too watch this tomorrow morning.
Those espadrilles are stunning! I would be thrilled to receive them. You must have the patience of a saint though! 😘
I just couldn’t believe the espadrilles story! 🙃. I think they looked great in the end! The Halloween MAL really is turning out so nicely- great color choices!!
Those espadrilles are lovely. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Thanks for another lovely episode!!! :) I especially loved seeing the mystery cowl!! SO fun!
You are killing me with your Disneyland pictures! 🤣. Hubby and I were going once or twice a year before the pandemic and for some reason we just haven’t gone since. Must change that very soon! Love seeing all your great makes.
Your minis are absolutely 😎 awesome
You are amazing. I would never have had the patience to see those shoes through to the end. 🥴 Hoping your friend loved them. ❤️ Glad you had fun at Disneyland. I giggled when you talked about your hair and the episode of Friends. 🤣
So happy to have won your giveaway! Thank you so much, you are so generous! I love your Halloween themed cowl, love your colour choices. Your friend will love her new shoes, great job on those.
Wow all the work you put into your shoes. Congrats on finishing
Just love watching you and the things you make.
I love the slippers and good for you for sticking to it. My Dad did that kind of work for things on the Ships he worked on
She must be a super special friend for you to have gone through all that for a gift for her. I would have just chosen something else... That boysenberry pie colorway is gorgeous!
She is a wonderful friend and deserves all the best!
Those shoes are amazing, you did a great job.
You did an amazing job with the shoes. Well done for your perseverance. Lovely podcast..
Oh my! I am glad you made the shoes so I do not have to. That did not sound quite right. I really liked them, and was very interested to learn about them. Always happy to find a new episode.
Sweet podcast - I always enjoy seeing you and your lovely projects. ❤
Love your podcasts! And your yarn……they motivate me to do harder projects ❤
Great shoes! And your bags are beautiful
What an adventure to make those shoes! But I have to say what a labor of love for your friend, she will love them! . My mom used to make sleepers for us growing up, she will buy the sole form to make them, so much easier for sure.
Your mother was a smart woman!
A lovely video as always. Sitting in my shop we always enjoy to watch your videos. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for watching! I hear you have been unwell recently. I hope you are feeling better.
Enjoy your videos so much. I have a special cushion for my kayak and I call it my old lady cushion...lol😂
I love that!
First off I love the idea of those shoes. And secondly as a school librarian. This project bag is right up my alley. Have a great day
What did the recipient of the shoes think?
Love the bag my friends call me Sam I am it would be cool to have a bag to match the nickname lol
Your description of your frustration as you tried to follow the instructions for the crocheted shoes reminds me of my frustrations with reading the Federal IRS tax code,
DAD! 🤣 You are too funny. Who would have thought that crochet patterns and IRS tax codes have anything in common?
Question for you - on your scrappy socks, do you weave in ends as you go and if so, what’s your preferred method? Thanks!
Yes, I always weave in my ends as I go. After knitting a couple of stripes, I weave in the previous ends with a darning needle. I vary between methods depending on how thick the stripes are. For narrow ones, I weave them in with a duplicate stitch style, but I think it creates a bit more bulk than I prefer but it works along a single row and is good for a narrow stripe. For wider stripes I use my darning needle to pick up the back of each purl bump along an angle for maybe 5 stitches, then I go back the opposite direction on parallel stitches. Sometimes, I will weave in ends how Kay Litton from Crazy Sock Lady does hers. I all depends on what I’m knitting. These socks have all three methods in them. I don’t mind doing it though when I just take a minute or two after a couple of stripes rather than leaving them all to be done at the end.
@@candyshoppeyarns thanks for the info! It makes good sense to use different methods depending on how narrow or wide the stripes are
Hi want to let you know that there is an error message when you try and get into your site.
I have been trying for several weeks and cannot get into it.
I'm sorry you have been having issues getting to my website. I have checked the links on this channel, typed it in separately, tried three different browsers, and all of them have worked. I am also getting regular orders still so I suspect you need to try a different browser to access my website. Or, you can go to Etsy.com and type CandyShoppeYarns in the search bar to find my shop. Best of luck!
Oh my goodness, Deborah... when you got up to get the squeaky toys from the dog, I saw something gorgeous draped on the back of your chair... Was that loveliness knitting or crochet? It has that heirloom look about it. I hope you show it on the podcast at some point.
Oh, yes. I made that last year. I'll have to share it on my next episode.
