2:25 Safety Bear says: do not make a bevel cut with the blade tilted toward the fence the cutoff piece is more likely to pinch and kickback. Use a bevel crosscut jig to prevent kickback.
I don’t have one of those but I appreciate the help! The only ready I did it was so I could have the clean cut in the side I wanted and the guide to keep it all straight.

Absolutely beautiful!! You have given me a great idea for shelves in my kitchen. I couldn’t find a thick enough wood I wanted to use and everything else I saw was so expensive. Definitely gonna show my husband this idea of gluing the boards together and adding that strip I’m so excited now!!! I could probably add the strip but I don’t think I could cut the wood and do everything you did lol You’re so smart!!
